• SXMB_MONI views

Hi
SXMB_MONI has "Standard" and "Process" Views, Just wondering how these two views are different from each other?
Please help to understand.

Hi
Am just giving you a bried overwiew about the message monitoring.
Central monitoring:
The central monitoring of SAP Exchange Infrastructure (XI) offers you the option of executing various monitoring activities. Primarily, you use the Runtime Workbench, the central tool for accessing XI monitoring.
The Runtime Workbench gives you the option of navigating to the monitoring functions of the Integration Engine, as well as integration with the Computing Center Management System (CCMS), and the Process Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) of SAP.
The Runtime Workbench provides access to all these monitoring activities. You can also run component monitoring by using a special CCMS Alert Monitor, which monitors the individual XI components.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/45/d169186a29570ae10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm
RunTimeWorkBench resdes on the Java Stack and so allows you to see the flow of your message from the Adapter Engine ( on Java Stack ) to the Integrtaion Engine ( on ABAP Stack ), and again to the Adapter ENgine ( on Java Stack).
SXMB_MONI runs on the ABAP stack allows you to monitor the message flow only in the ABAP stack / Integration Engine.
SXMB_MONI helps you to find any error in the xi steps. But it will not tell you if you have any errors on the adapters.
So for checking any errors on the adapters and the errors for communicaiton channels we need to go with RWB.
RWB enables a central monitoring of the XI server which has multiple features which SXMB_MONI tcode doesnt provide - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7c/14b5765255e345a9e3f044f1e9bbbf/content.htm
Both RWB and Sxmb_moni are both used for monitoring purpose only...where as when take Runtime workbench you can have different options which xi provides...like component monitoring,Performance monitoring,End to End monitoring, message monitoring...etc..but where as in sxmb_moni you can able to see the xml messages only.
RWB
SXMB_MONI ???
Hope this clears your doubts
Thanks

• Revolve and transparency in CS2

Hi, I'm using Illustrator CS2 to create a 3D image that has a degree of transparency. Basically a clear tube that is half filled with blood.
I've created a profile that contains a red line with a curved bottom for the (blood-filled) half of the tube, and a grey line for the upper (empty) half of the tube. The grey line has been set to about 20% opacity, so that the top surface of the blood and the top rim can be seen through the wall of the tube.
As I've being going along creating the profile, I keep checking my progress by turning on the 3D effect and selecting preview. However, when I do this, it's hit or miss as to whether the upper part of the tube previews as transparent. About half the time that I select it, the upper part of the tube becomes an opaque light grey, instead of being transparent.
Has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone know if I'm doing something wrong, or is it just a bug in the software? I'm using XP on a 2.4GHz Core2 with 3GB RAM.
Thanks,
Steven

Interfaces (IR) provide you with transparency and homogeneity....even the monitoring UIs (RWB, SXMB_MONI) account to transparency
If not wrong these details are mentioned in one of the TBIT documents on Service Marketplace

• Central monitoring in SOLAM+ALE status

Hi guys,
Please refer to my post in Solution manager forum.
I belive this issue is with interest of this forum as well.
[Question posted in Solution manager forum|Central PI Monitoring and Alerting in Solution manager;
Your opinion will be most wellcom.

Hi,
When you configure a BPM in Solution Manager, you can see three boxes in one screen.
One for Source System, One for Middleware that is SAP PI and one for Target system.
Now, considering source and target are SAP systems like SAP ECC, SRM etc, you will see the corresponding Box in RED if the message is failed in that particular system.
For example: Lets have a scenario SRM (Proxy) to SAP PI to SAP ECC (IDOC)
In this case if message fails at SRM SXMB_MONI, you will see SRM box in RED.
if message fails at SAP PI SXMB_MONI, you will see SAP PI box in RED.
if message fails at SAP ECC WE02, you will see SAP ECC box in RED.
When you click on individual boxes to see detail error analysis, you will get a screen where that particular system error handling is defined.
For e.g. if you click on SAP PI box, you will be able to see defined error handling for different SAP PI components like RWB, SXMB_MONI, SMQ2, SM58 etc.
I n short, for detail error analysis, you have to go to individual component like SAP PI/SAP ECC/SRM where you actually connect to SAP PI/SAP ECC/SRM from Solution Manager.
Hope its clear.

Gouri

• Homogenity and transparency in XI

Hi guys,
I have a doubt. It's said in training materials that Interfaces in XI introduce a new level of transparency and homogeneity. How exactly is it made possible ? Is it by having centralized storage of knowledge or by having two interfaces for each connection. In RFC communicationwe have single interface and sender and receiver interfaces need not match. Is that how the reason. I was asked this in one interview and couldn't answer successfully. I would appreciate if someone could help me with this.
Thanking you in anticipation !

• FTP or SOAP receiver:in sxmb_moni succeed but in RWB failed

PI version:7.1
I configed a asynchronous interface: ABAP proxy SENDER--->FTP RECEIVER, and create message.
the status of messages in sxmb_moni are all ok, but on the FTP server no file received, then check RWB, the FTP RECEIVER adapter contain error:
"Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool: com.sap.aii.af.lib.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: ConnectException: Socket connection timed out: 192.168.100.98:21"
then i have two questions:
1. why in sxmb_moni no error? the message can not restart because the status is successful but in fact, we should restart it again. is it possible to resolve this problem?
2. how to resolve the adapter error:Unable to create new pooled resource: ConnectException: Socket connection timed out
thank you very much

Add time out values in File receiver channel and are you able to access FTP server using telnet??ping your FTP server using telent.

• Alerts for SXMB_MONI mapping errors, RWB errors

Hi,
We are having solman 7.0 with EHP1/oracle on HP-UX.
I have to configure CCMS alerts for SXMB_MONI mapping errors, RWB errors for PI system(SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.1).
I cant find any MTE related to SXMB_MONI mapping errors or RWB errors under the PI system in my CEN.
So, can anyone please guide me to configure this?
Thanks
Nanda

Hello Nanda,
you have to configure ALert Categories in the Alert Framework (ALM) before any MTE are shown in CCMS. And then you would see the MTE in the local CCMS of your PI system.
Configuration steps are descirbed in the PDF "Setup Guide for Interface Monitoring" under http://service.sap.com/bpm > Media Library > Technical Information. In thisdocument you can also learn how the CCMS MTEs can be integrated with Business Process Monitoring in SAP Solution Manager. And actually BPMon provides some new monitoring capabilites for the Java part of PI that are not covered via CCMS at all.

• Message sent from RWB but not reflected in SXMB_MONI

Hello Experts,
I have a SOAP - RFC synchronous scenario. I am sending a message from RWB to PI system. It shows message sent in RWB and the message details are reflected in the RWB->message monitoring ->Adapter Engine as 'Successfull'. But no in RWB->message monitoring->Integration Engine.
The message does not reflect in SXMB_MONI either. All other scenarios are working fine except this.
Also on checking the status of Sender communication channels in RWB it shows 'yellow' with reason channel may be inactive or unitialised. Whereas i have checked the communiaction channels in ID, their status is Active.
Kindly advice a solution.
Thanks in advance,
Elizabeth.

Hi,
Your message processed from sender adapter. But seems there is some problem in reaching IE. Check out your wsdl file. check when define a web service, have u given right url. Is it like this
http://[server]:[port]/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:[sender communication channel service]:[sender communication channel name]
and also make sure whether you given the right http port name, sender business system name , sender message interface in the following step of define web service. and the port name is important you can fine http port for your PI server by going to SMICM tcode. in that press shift + F1
You altova xmlspy software for testing purpose. You can download free 30 day trial version from altova website. once you installed in it.
Go to xmlspy software. the menu you can find a "SOAP". underthis menu you can find create soap request. select that it will ask the wsdl file. give the wsdl file which you are created in define web service step. after that in xmlspy
menu->soap->send request to server. then it ill ask user name and password to connect with the PI server. then you will get the rfc response if u successfully connected with PI sever.
for more details,
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417200)ID1437447550DB12110496670821140257End?blog=/pub/wlg/4550
but in this website they didnt use xmlspy some other third party software. good luck

Ofcourse you can:)
below are the fields mentioned in blogs
We can also tell exactly which interface/service/namespace can be used:
SXMBPARTY= Communication Party
SXMBPRTAG= Issuing Agency
SXMBPRTTYP= Identification Scheme
SXMBSERV= Service
SXMBIFNS = Interface Namespace
In your case you will use the last one SXMBIFNS

• Time setting is differnt in sxmb_moni and RWB

Hi
Users are getting different time in sxmb_moni and RWB for the same xml
message.
Problem seem to be in JAVA side. There is no problem in ABAP side.
Right now, time is 13.47 but Adapter Engine in RWB shows the 12.47.
When i checked the status of xml message in sxmb_moni and RBW, same
problem is there. sxmb_moni shows teh right time for xml message and in
RWB, time is one hour behind for the same message.
Pls help to resolve this problem.
Thanks
Amar

Hi
JRE upgrad eto 1.4.2_18 has resolved the timezone problem..but there is still one pending issue:
We had seen timezone problem in RWB and all other java application. After JRE upgrade Timezone issue has get solved in the RWB. Now users reported one hour time difference for processed xml messages in message monitoring . Users are not sure whether they have seen the same time difference problem for message monitoring before the JRE upgrade.
but all other java time for SLD, RWB , NWA tool shows the right time. I refreshed the cache but it has not fixed this problem.
Anu suggestion to fix it???
Thanks

• Download multiple XML files from SXMB_MONI and / or RWB

Hi
Does anyone have a clever way to download multiple inbound / outbound XML messages from either SXMB_MONI and / or RWB. For example, I send in 100 XML files to XI. These are mapped to an IDOC. I want to download all 100 source and target XML messages 'easily' versus drilling into each and using 'Download Window 1' or 'Download Window 2'.
Any ideas are much appreciated.
Thx

Hi Jörg,
I try to use class CL_XMS_PERSIST with method READ_MSG_ALL but I can't find the content of the Payload in EX_MESSAGE...
Can you help me please ?

• Message in not founding from tx sxmb_moni or from RWB how to resolve it ?

Hi,
Experts,
I have developed a "file to file scenario" it is working fine while testing in "Message Mapping" as well as in "Test Configuration".After passing valid source directory with valid input file(c:\xi_input.xml) in the sender communication channel as well as passed valid target directory in the receiver communication channel.
While executing after passing the required information in tx SXMB_MONI 'No Message Found' pop up is coming as well as in RWB in Message Monitoring also i am getting 'No Message Found'.
What would be the problem/issue i am not able to understand it and strucked over here please suggest me some idea/input regarding this.
Thank in advance,
Shabeer Ahmed.

hi,
>> SXMB_MONI 'No Message Found' pop up is coming as well as in RWB in Message Monitoring also i am getting 'No Message Found'.
if you don't have it there (are your dates and time correct in the selection?)
then the message did not pass via XI
check your sender communication channel if it fetched the file at all

I checked XML is good as per mapping. and in runtime wirk bench message is still in "To Be Delivered status"
and in SXMB_MONI message column Outbound Status still showing "Message being sent" even after 12 hours.(wait is only 5 minutes). And below is the trace of last message.
Please guide how to handle or restart this message. in SMQ1 & SMQ2 there are no queues showing:

• Error while testing sender SOAP scenario from XMLSpy-but can test from RWB

HI,
I developed one scenario with sender SOAP adapter and Receiver side ABAP proxy.
Now I want to test my scenario.
I tested my scenario successfully from RWB-->Integration server Integration Engine. ( it posted successfully and I can see checked flag in SXMB_MONI)
But when I tried to test the scenario fro XML spy it is throwing HTTP error 500.
When I type my URL in internet explores it is giving “Message Servlet is in Status OK”.
I am not sure what is the difference between there two type of testing.
What does it mean by successful from RWB and fails from XMLSpy?
Why I am getting this error from XMLSpy?

Dear Ashok,
if RWB showing you successful then message in not in error.
XML Spy giving error HTTP 500 not it is just server error. This might be due to large payload.
here is the description of all error related with 500+
5xx Server Error

User agents SHOULD display any included entity to the user. These response codes are applicable to any request method.

Then in additional parameter put the server IP and execute it will show you its reachability.

you run Tcode SXMB_ADM>intregration engine configuration
