Rx2 or rex files in media browser at 96khz and up

help please....
I am a techno / deep house producer and been working with logic for quite a while albeit mostly with external/internal samplers.Recently I switched to more loop oriented workflow and using the media browser to preview and import loops.
My Dynaudio Air monitors are more than cool with 96 and 192 and so is the machine so I decided to wrk in 96khz which is awesome for sound...but here lies the problem...
Since the change - I cannot audition rx2 or rex files... only wav/apple loops....it does wrk back in 44 but thats not really usefull.
Any nudge as to how to solve this from the forum folks would be highly appreciated!
Or would my only choice be to drop another 60 euro on Audiofinder?

Hi bston475,
Please provide us some more information mention below.
1. The version of Premiere Pro that you are using
2. Do you have an external drive that you are trying to access.
3. Mention the formats of the clips that you are using.

Ashish

    Hi,
Are you trying to import it from an external hard drive?
If that is the case, create a new folder in the hard drive and cut and paste all the other files to that new folder.
Let me know if that helps.

  • GB 08-Importing mp3 file from media browser---does this affect source file?

    Hello again,
    Another question...
I imported an mp3 from my iTunes folder into GB (to jam over). I did this via the media browser, and it came in fine. I next wanted to create a looped rhythm segment from that file to jam over. I know how to do this, and then add it as a loop to the library. However, does this alter the source file at all (in the iTunes folder)? Do I need to make a copy of this in the GB folder first before I start splicing? I think I read that GB will not alter files, just "regions" but I wanted to make sure.
On a related note, does GB point to a location for the source file (even if it's been spliced)? So if I moved that iTunes folder would it be a problem?
    Thanks!

However, does this alter the source file at all
    no
does GB point to a location for the source file (even if it's been spliced)?
yes, and no. originally, yes, but once saved as a loop, that little clip is saved as it's own file to your lib
So if I moved that iTunes folder would it be a problem?
same as above. it will in the first case, won't in the second

  • No Access to Desktop Files in Media Browser iMac

I have a folder with video-files on my iMac Desktop.
It seems I don't have access to this folder anymore.
I normally access this folder through the 'Users' folder (see screenshot 01)
But if I click on it, it says 'Reading..' but won't open the folder (see screenshot 02)
It's weird, because I don't have any troubles accessing these files in, for instance, Photoshop.
So, the bug must be in Premiere Pro. I have recently updated the software, but that didn't help.
Anyone familiar with this problem? Any solutions?
    Thanks a million! Caspar

    Hi Caspar,
The odds are that one or more files in the folder--or possibly a subfolder--is throwing Premiere some kind of curveball, like a codec that it's not sure how to handle. If it's something like that, then it's not at all surprising that Photoshop has no problem because the two programs use different "providers" to process the contents of folders.
The first thing I'd try is to switch Media Browser from Icon View to List View. That will circumvent the code that is trying to render previews for the thumbnails.
Next would be to divide and conquer: use Finder to move half the content of the folder into a separate folder (this could be difficult if you're working with file-based content like DVCPRO P2). Then try to access each folder. If one opens and the other doesn't then repeat the process with the one that won't open.

  • Premier Pro CC files in media browser turn black when I hover

    Hello,
I have uploaded files into a new project. In the media browser window I can see the thumbnails but they turn black when I hover over them.
From the project window it I double click on one it loads but I can only see black though I can hear the audio.
    What have I done wrong??
    Thanks.

Yes, through the Media Browser. Coming from a Nikon D800.
Thanks for the info. I noticed that you have a Windows system. Is QuickTime installed? It should be.
If so and you still cannot import, what happens if you change the extension of the media file from .mov to .mpg?
    Thanks,

  • Media browser in iLife and iWork apps do not displays the iPhoto lib

My iMedia Browser can't find the iPhote library anymore. The same goes for my Aperture library. So i can't find my photo in any of the iLife or iWork apps from the media browser. I have na idea what the problem is. Everthing (for example the iPhoto lib) is in its correct place. I already rebuild the iPhoto lib with no results. What can i do? thx in advance.

    Paul:
First, try deleting the com.apple.iApps.plist preference file, reboot and try again.
The the above doesn't help reapply these updates: iLife Media Browser Update and iLife Support 9.0.3. Repair disk permissions afterward and reboot.

  • ITunes 11.0.4 still copying files to media library after dragging and dropping while holding down "option"

I'm having trouble adding media without automatically copying the file to the iTunes media libary after dragging and dropping while holding down "option."
In Preferences > Advanced, "Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library" is checked. When I drag a file into iTunes while holding "option", the green "plus" icon disappears. However, iTunes still copies the file to media folder.
    Any suggestions?

    you can also try:
I found that if I SCROLL down to the word 'playlist' and hover around the name, a 'show' comes up.  Click on the 'show' and everything magically appears.

  • Aperture has come back to the Media Browser in Pages and Keynote

Lokk for the iWork Software update. Keynote 6.2, Pages 5.2

    I wondered why I got a greenie
My Macs are all communcating well over my LAN, and I choose and export the minimal images I ever need from my Alpha Aperture Library from the nMP to a folder on my old MP for use in documents created in Pages.
I am needing to address printing from the nMP.  Currently it is positioned fartherest (more than the length of the USB cable) from the printer in my office, and I photo print awkwardly with my old MP, having to transfer from that Aperture Library connected to the nMP.  Network printing has not automatically provided the features I am accustomed to using with photo printing.  Primary printer is an Epson Stylus Photo R1900.
    I transition some things slowly

  • MXF Missing Audio in Media Browser, or Is it?

Happy Fourth of July to all my American friends.  Did you know it's going to be the Forth of July up in Canada and everywhere else in the world tomorrow too?   Can't tell you how many times I've been asked if we have the Forth of July in Canada.  Duh, of course!
So I've got a weird thing going on.  I use Sony Clipbrowswer to cut up my BPAV files and trim everything down and then I convert them to MXF (I personally HATE the BPAV folder structure).  I look at the clips in Media Browser in PP and I get perfect video, but no audio.
I then import the clips into the project and look at them in the Source Monitor.  Same thing.  Video, yes; audio no.
I drag the exact same clips into the timeline and they come in with 4 channels of audio (huh?) and BOTH the video and audio work fine.  Not sure what's going on.  I would really like to see AND HEAR them in the media browswer and source monitor so I can set my in/out points.
Any ideas?  BPAVs of the same files act normal, just not their MXF sister files.
Happy Forth to everyone else in the world too!

    Any ideas?
Yep. The Source Monitor has the annoying limitation of only being able to preview one audio channel of a multi-track clip at a time. So, even though your source footage has four mono channels, by default, the Source Monitor will only preview Track 1. You can change that to Track 2, Track 3, etc., but no matter what, you can't hear a mixed monitor output.
What I suspect is happening is that your first audio track doesn't have any audio, or it's very low. When you drop the clip wholesale into a sequence, you can hear the audio because you're getting all four tracks mixed. If you click the Output button in the Source Monitor and change to Audio Waveform view, you can use the track selector dropdown to choose which audio track you want to preview. Unfortunately, this isn't "sticky," so you'll need to do it each time you open a multi-mono clip, if your primary audio isn't on Track 1.
I've made several feature requests for improvements to this functionality. I work a lot with P2 MXF, and this has driven me half-mad; whenever I interview, I put my primary audio (lav) on Track 2. Previewing and marking up clips like this is a bear without proper audio monitoring.
    Anyway... does that fix it?

  • How do I get network drives to show in left panel of media browser

Okay, I'm new to audition.  When I start Audition's media browser, only the local HDD's are shown.  If I OPEN FILE, I can navigate to find tyhe network drive and Audition will open the file.  Also the network drives show in Windows Explorer.  I searched the FAQs and the help file, but maybe I'm not using the "magic words"  So, how to I get these network drives to appear?
Windows 7 64 bit home premium
home built 3.67 gb Intel Quad core, 12 GB RAM, Several local HDDs
    Audition CS6
    Thank you

I'm not sure this is correct.  I have mapped a NAS to drive "Z" and mapped a drive on my video editing desktop to drive "Y."  These both show up in the left panel of the media browser for Premiere and Photoshop as the share names  "MYDOCS" and "BAAAA,"  as well as in Windows Explorer.  But not in Audition. Only the local drives are shown in Audition's media browser.
I can open a file in audition by using BROWSE by clicking on "MYDOCS" or "BAAAA" as they appear in the Windows Explorer file dialong and then navigating on those drives to the desired files.
What am I missing?  Do others have their network drives show in the left panel of Audition's media browser?

  • ITunes is empty in Media Browser

    Hello everybody!
I have a problem with the Media Browser in iMovie and iPhoto 09 on Snow Leopard (upgraded): The part "iTunes" is empty.
But everything is fine in iDVD and also in the finder part "Media" when you "Open a file".
I tried to reinstall iLife 09, tried iLife spport 903, tried to delete iApps.plist iMovie.plist and iphoto.plist and reopened the apps in different orders. So far, nothing.
I tried to reinstall the mediabrowser.framework using Pacifist, nothing.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Alright, I solved this problem at least for myself. Hopefully this works for all of you guys.
(Note: Quite all iLife and iWork applications before doing this)
Step 1. Download and install Pacifist http://www.charlessoft.com/
Step 2. Insert Snow Leopard Disc
    Step 3. Run Pacifist
Step 4. Click "Open Apple Install Discs"
Step 5. Select Install Disc in Pop Up Dialog and select "Choose" (it can take a couple of minutes for the disc to load)
Step 6. In the search field at the top of the window type "mediabrowser" (no space) and the second result should be a folder. When you select it it should show that the file path is Library>Application Support>iLifeMediaBrowser
Step 7. Select the iLifeMediaBrowser folder and click the "install" button in the top left of the window
Step 8. Click "Install" in the pop up dialog then input your password in the next window and hit ok
Step 9. Enjoy your media browser being up and running again
If there is a dialog that says something about possible file damage or something to that effect, just hit continue. You'll be a o.k. and up in running again.
I hope this helps any of you!

  • Media Browser is broken

    Hi,
I use iPhoto 6 and just today when I have opened up any application with a media browser, my audio and videos come up fine, but when I click the photos tab, I get a message saying: Open iPhoto 2 or later or Apeture 1.5 or later to see photos from your iPhoto or Apeture library in this list. Does anybody have a clue why this is happening?

Sometimes a keyword causes a malformation of the AlbumData.xml file that the media browser uses to access your iPhoto library. Non-ascii characters, like &, in a keyword or album name can cause this error. But so can a keyword that ends with an empty space (trailing space), which is invisible, and so is very difficult to spot and correct. Most likely you had one, and corrected it by renaming all of your keywords.
If you'd like more information, read this thread in the iPhoto forum: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3870956
To prevent this in future, avoid non-ascii characters, and be careful when typing in keywords that you don't add a space at the end.
    Regards.
