S_ALR_87011964 - Different figures by different users

In our case,two users are executing report S_ALR_87011964 for asset balance. However, they are getting different figures on execution. Why this is happening so ?

Hi,
Always check selection parameter of user, manytime this happens when different user use different selection parameters and they get different values.
In case selection parameters are same then check user authorization. e.g. if particular user is not authorized for any business area, asset class then user will get report output as per his authorization.
If authorization is also same then reconcile both report by each asset class.

Different users are getting different values for the same key figure, when executing the same query on the same selection conditions.Each time, user executes the report, he is getting varying values for the same key figure.Any idea's how to resolve this issue??

Hi Bindu,
One reason might be due to authorizations as discussed earlier.
check how frequently is the cube getting refreshed.
This might also happen that if users are running the data at different times and there is a cube load in between.
check for this.

When streaming video from a web site my audio is attenuated differently with different users on the same computer. withe either user, the sound is very muffled. all the volumes are set to maximum.

How can I adjust the safari sound volume other than the usual settings in the system preferences?
I am using an apple mac air, updated with OS X Yosemite. Looking at the same web site video from two different users accounts on the same computer, the sound is drastically attenuated on one user account relative to the other.
Sound settings in system preferences are maxed out.

It seems that the difference between the sites that will open and the one that won't is the Default Authentication provider is set to NTLM on those that open, and Negotiate (Kerberos) on the one that won't. The Authentication Provider for the Default zone
is Claims Based Authentication on all the sites, just site B (which won't open) is set to Negotiate (Kerberos), the others are set to NTLM.
Short term: can I change the provider to NTLM without destroying the site?
Long term: point me in the direction for setting up Kerberos correctly on my server/farm, as from what I can tell Kerberos is the recommended path forward. I'll setup a non-production test site and get it figured out.

Can anyone tell me how (without having to write my own code) I can share photos easily (so I can teach my parents, who know nothing about mac, how to do it) between different users on the SAME COMPUTER?
I am so frustrated! You can share with anyone else in the world, but when it is on the same computer I can't figure out how to share!

Connecting to a NAS with different user accounts

First, I just want to say that as a recent PC ---> Mac convert, I have been quite pleased with the switch. However, I just can't seem to figure out this issue.
I have a Netgear DNS-323 NAS that I use for multiple purposes: backup, storage, video/audio streaming...etc. I am trying to set up quotas within the NAS to keep data usage in check. However, I cannot seem to get OSX to connect to the different NAS shares with a different user name for each one.
For example, I am using one share for my time machine backup (yes, I know it is unsupported, let's leave that out for this discussion). That share is //192.168.x.x/MacBackup. I have set up a single user that has access to that share with a quota of 400GB (so TM doesn't eat up the entire NAS). That user's name is "backup".
I have another share that I use for music/movies. That share is //192.168.x.x/Media. I want to connect to that share with a different account than the "backup" account used for the TM share. That way, I don't eat into the quota established for the backup share.
However, no matter what I do, I cannot get OSX to let me configure it this way. Which ever share I connect to first is the only one I can connect to. For example, if I connect to the backup share as the backup user, than I cannot access the media share as it gives me access denied errors (as it should, as it still thinks I am the "backup" user).
I have tried adding both of the username/password combinations into the keychain application, but I cannot seem to get it to work.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

I guess no info on this. I will try and see how I fare. if anyone is interested let me know in which case i can share findings.
One way round this might eb sharing libraries but I am not sure that is legal strictly as I suppose parents MAC in the Netherlands does not classify as a household MAC....

Using same Aperture 3 library with different user accounts. Suggestions?

My wife and I share the same iMac but use different user accounts. Currently, I have our photos and Aperture library on a second partition with no ownership, allowing us both to access the library and edit, reorganize, etc (I know we need to be careful not to make changes "simultaneously," so we simply shut one instance down before switching user accounts). The trick is quickly becoming the organizational scheme. My wife thinks (and I agree) that Aperture will be able to free us from having to "give in" to the other's way of thinking when it comes to grouping pictures in projects, etc. The only trick is, we can't figure out how to do it. My initial thought is to figure if one photo can exist in two different projects and then just have "hers" and "his" folders. The other thought would be to create two different libraries, but then I'm not sure how we would keep the two libraries "current" if one uploaded photos and didn't tell the other.
So, those are my two thoughts, but I'm sure there are others. I'm open to any and all suggestions.

1 Quit iTunes.
2 Drag your entire *iTunes folder* from /Username/Music to /Users/Shared.
3 Log out.
1 Log in on your other account(s).
2 Start iTunes and immediately press an hold the Option key.
3 iTunes will ask to *Create new library* or *Choose existing library*. Select *Choose existing library*.
4 Select the *iTunes library file* in the *iTunes folder* in /Users/Shared.
5 Now go to File -> *Add to library* and select the *iTunes music folder* located in /Username/Music.
6 - iTunes will add all the music in from this account to the main iTunes music folder/library.
7 Delete the *iTunes folder* in /Username/Music
8 Restart iTunes normally (don't hold Option). Everything should be there.
9 Quit iTunes and log out of the account.
10 Do the above steps for all users. Don't do the first 1-3 steps. Start at the second series.
Log into your account, start iTunes normally and all music should be there.
Whenever any of you do anything in iTunes, it will be seen by all since you are using one and the same iTunes library file.
Create a "main" playlist for each user with their own music. Create a smart playlist and set it to Playlist is not the playlist you created above. Select this and it will show you everything NOT in your playlist. Do the same for the others. This will help when adding only the music you want your own playlist.
Note that iTunes can only be opened by one user at a time. If you have Fast user switching enabled, the other users must quit iTunes in order for anyone else to use it.

IMac - can it work with 2 people using different user names?

My wife and I each have IPhone and IPad. We are buying a new IMac. We have different user names. Will we both be able to download pictures but keep our email and messages separate?

Keep in mind that only one user who has Administrative rights is the Master Account holder on your Imac. I thought it would have been whomever is the original account signed into the machine... Wrong!
My Imac was a birthday gift from my husband who I later learned had full Root Account control of my Imac, and everything I do, type, or surf on the Internet. Wish someone would have warned me. Later after several blocked menu and program issues and after finding parental controls set on my own user name, and several other glitches I was informed by Apple Care tech support that I was NOT the Master Account holder for my Imac and they refuse to give me the Account Master's name! My husband adamantly denies that he is behind this criminal act and the issues have only grown worse with time? Go figure as to how one can begin to resolve this all but after reading your question I just wanted to put this out here for your awareness in this situation, as it does apply.

Sharing Photos: Different Users, Same Computer

So far, I've tried some suggestions found in other postings, but I still can't share some photo libraries between different users on the same computer. I started an account for my son. Sharing was enabled in both iPhoto Apps. I've tried locating the libraries in a Shared folder and putting them in a folder not associated with a user. Opening a port 8770 in the Sharing/Firewall window didn't change anything either. No matter what, when I open my son's iPhoto and try to Add To Library, some libraries will import and others have a circle with a red line next to them. Those will not import and I can't figure out what the difference is between them. Any thoughts?

Different user-different desktop?

This may be a very basic question, but I haven't been able to figure it out. I would like to set up a Macbook Pro so that I can have one desktop with my settings and then let another person use the laptop and have their own desktop setup. Can this be done so that when I open Mail I get my mail and when they open Mail they get their mail?

different user accounts have entirely different desktop settings. create a different account for that person and set up everything (including Mail) separately for different accounts.

Different user id's.

We have several devices in our home all using the same iTunes account. 6 in fact, 3 iPod touch, iPad 2, iPad mini and an iPhone 4. How do we set each one up so that they all have different identities when using facetime and messaging? My son wants to use his iPod touch for texting between us and his friends but they all have the same Facetime ID so when you send to one, it goes to all. We also do not want him to have access to all of the contacts on his iPod that my wife has on her iPhone. We use iTunes through a Windows based PC and I have created different users on the PC's to be able to load different music onto each one but cannot figure out how to separate them through iTunes and the App store. We also do not want him to be able to access certain things in the cloud that we have on our devices as well. Help !

I feel like I should know how to do this but can't figure it out. FInder is not working correctly and others have solved the same problem by signing in as a different user upon restart. How can I do this without using finder?

why do you need finder for this? do you have another account set up already? if yes, just log out using the apple menu->logout (or just enter commandshiftq).
if you don't have another account set up yet, open system preferences from the apple menu go to accounts pane and create a new account. but before you do any of this try resetting your finder preferences.
type Terminal in spotlight and press enter. this will open a terminal window.
enter the following command in terminal
rm ~/library/preferences/com.apple.finder.plist; killall Finder
see if that helps.

Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

Um, there is no such thing as NAS4.1.
I'm assuming that you mean NAS4.0 (maybe NAS4.0sp1?). If so, then the session timeouts are specified in the session section of the NTV configuration files.
AFAIK, you can specify session timeouts on a per user basis.

This error message will appear erraneously, if you skipped the update to Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1 and went straight from an earlier MacOS X version to Yosemite, without first updating to iPhoto 9.5.1 and associating iPhoto to your AppleID.
Try first to buy iPhoto with your AppleID instead of updating. Delete iPhoto from Applications, but don't empty the Trash, then go to the main page of the App Store and search for iPhoto. If you are lucky, it will show as free and you can buy it directly.
If iPhoto is not showing as free, there is no help but contacting the App Store Support: Ask for a redemption code. You will need to provide a prove of purchase for your mac with iPhoto preinstalled.

Broad casting Webi report in excel format to different users email ids

Seriously looking for the help, please help with the solution for below scenario.
We have a requirement to schedule broadcasting of Webi reports to users email in excel format from infoview. But our concern is how the system takes care of authorizations of users when we broadcast the report to their mail id as excel file.
For example we have one webi report for Finance and there are thousands of users for each department, cost centre etcu2026so how to broadcast the same webi report in excel to different users with only data they have authorized to see. We have committed to client that we can do this with out much massive overhead, please advise what is the easiest way to achieve this. I read something like this can be done using authorization profiles in CMS but creating those many profiles and mapping them to relevant authorizations is not possible as there are thousands of users with different authorization levels. And Client is expecting this broadcasting need to be done automatically with out every time manual intervention.

Please use the Dynmanic Recipients functionality of the Publication.
For this we need to do follow steps.
1) Create the WebI Report that needs to be published(Broadcasted)
2) create Deski/webi report which contains the user details and email id's for publishing main report.
3) Map the properties of souce report with Dynamic Recipient report.
Please refer the user guide for more inforamtion.This helps you in avoiding manual creation of profiles in CMC.
