S-bar crash adjusting brightness on GX780

Hello,
I have some problems with the s-bar utility crashing.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Windows 7 x64
2. Login and wait for everything to load and the s-bar (star) to be displayed
3. Either use the FN key and up and down or click on the s-bar to adjust the brightness.
The moment I do this the s-bar crashes. This was working in the past and only had happened once before (about 2 months ago) but a reboot fixed it at that time. The problem has now been persisting for 1 month now. I have now uninstalled, reinstalled and rebooted and the problem still persists. I am currently running the original BIOS.
I am going to attempt starting windows loading only windows software plus the s-bar and other msi tools. I will report back my findings. Should that fail I will start uninstalling software that could be interfering. The only other idea I have is the fact there was a Windows Update for .NET Framework some time ago that could have some how caused this problem.
Please note that all other FN key combos work fine and all touch sensitive keys also function. Also in Ubuntu the FN + up/down arrows function as expected (of course without the need for the s-bar)

Man, this was bugging me SO bad. I re-installed S-bar & .NET Framework a million times, but would still crash only when adjusting the brightness; or clicking the brightness icon on the S-bar utility. Anyhow, I resolved my problem by right-clicking the S-bar application from the start menu | selecting "Properties" | and then the "Comparability" tab | and checking "Run as administrator". It immediately worked, and has been flawless ever since! I'm guessing there was permission changes [and I'm logged in as a admin], maybe after installing some of the .NET Windows updates? Anyhow, it's working like a champ now.

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

Auto adjust brightness ... can it be reversed?

I cant remember if i had this problem with Snow Leopard. Not sure if this is a Lion issue or my new MBA either.
The auto adjust brightness seems to adjust the screen brightness to low in bright light and high in low light.
I would like it reversed as in the dark, i dont need a bright screen and in the day, i need the screen to be brighter.
Any body noticed this same adjustment on their Lion MBA?
If so, does any one know how to reverse it?

SAP has a program to reverse depreciation but it is somewhat complex and not available on OSS. I'm also not sure if it is limited to (or can be ported if it is) to the older depreciation program RABUCH which would limit it to those customers that currently post using RAPOST2000.
But barring access to the program, it's not possible to reverse it. You would have to proceed as Jagdish describes... feed the GL data that is -1 of the data that was posted. I wouldn't do it, personally.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6 6600 Notebook and brightness controls not working correctly. You could try in the Control Panel, Clock, Language and Region, Language click Advanced Settings in the left pane.Then in Advanced settings, click Change Language bar hot keys. In Text Services and Input Languages, click Change Key Sequence button and enable the the key sequence.
Here is a link to uninstall the keyboard. Restart the computer after uninstalling, it should reinstall automatically. Make sure you remove the USB keyboard first.

Windows 8.1 Bootcamp wont Sleep or adjust Brightness

Hey Guys, I installed windows 8.1 via bootcamp onto my 2013 rMBP, 16gig Ram, Upgraded Processor, and I have two issues with it. 1. I cannot adjust my screen brightness, which is manageable but annoying. 2. It wont go to sleep. There isnt an option anywhere to adjust brightness or put it to sleep. The only option are to hibernate, shut down, or do nothing. It seems as though the sleep function just isnt available, nor is the brightness. I feel like thse two things may be connected, but I wasnt sure. I have browsed some threads, but nobody seems to have a find for 8.1 or these problems yet. When I try to sleep my computer (i.e. close the lid) it just shuts down, and I have to hold option to power up back into windows. If anyone has a solution, please do let me know:) Thanks!! Also I'm running mavericks fully updated, the newest bootcamp software and the newest bootcamp drivers, AND windows is fully updated.

I have the same issue. Any luck miller? When I close the lid on my Macbook, i have to power back up and use the OPTION key to get back to Windows 8.1. This issue just started after updating to Mavericks...
My brightness control does work fine.

27" ACD as second monitor -- cannot adjust brightness

I've connected a 27" LED ACD to my 27" iMac as a second monitor, but the keyboard commands for adjusting brightness do not affect the cinema display. I understand a common cause for this is that the USB isn't connected, but mine is and I can verify it is working because I have an external HD connected to the USB port of the ACD, and the iMac recognizes that it is connected.
Also, if I go into Display Preferences then I do see the Brightness slider for the second monitor. This is currently the only way I can adjust the brightness of that monitor.

True, Unless there's a shortcut for that, the only way to adjust the brightness of the second monitor is by using the display preferences . same here with a MBP / 27" display.

IMac 24" and adjusting brightness.

Hello. I have this fancy (and great) iMac 24". Only annoying thing is that when I try to adjust brightness, it just does not "adjust" brightness. Difference between "none" and "full" brightness is close to nothing. I have so far zap Prams, deleted prefs, turn green and shouted that I am Hulk - any ideas?
I know that there is Shade and other small apps to do this. But Brightness-control should efeect as...well... a brightness control.
Sooooo...any ideas how to get a working brightness control by keyboard?

When I press F1 or F2 to adjust brightness I have this normal response in display (picture). I dont know whats the right word for it but I mean the white brightness slash hovering on my iMacs desktop. You know, when You press volume controls there is a picture of speaker and when you press brightness there is a picture of rising sun.
Anyways, I get that. BUT THERE IS NO VISIBLE CHANGE IN BRIGHTNESS BETWEEN HIGHEST AND LOWEST.
Same thing via System preferences. Brightness slider has the same lack of adjustment.
Sooo, any ideas? Where could be the problem?

Adjusting brightness on external LCD of MacBook

I have a Samsung Syncmaster 2033 connected to my MiniDisplayPort. The buttons on the side of the monitor have stopped working. Is there anyway I can adjust brightness/contrast and/or any of the other configuration settings for the monitor from OS X? Otherwise, is there a third party software out there that will do it?

Adjusting brightness on BOOTCAMP

All along i was able to adjust the brightness and volume using F1,F2 etc when i was using windows 7 on macbook pro until recently. I was also unable to right click and scroll using the trackpad.
I downloaded input remapper to adjust the brightness and i just dragged it too fast and my whole screen became the dimmest! Which means I can't see a thing while running windows 7 now and what's more i can't adjust it back using the fn key! The mac system is all well, still able to adjust brightness and all. Is there anyway to adjust the brightness of bootcamp(windows 7) through the mac system?

I just found out a solution! Open your mac then look at your battery if you see a little plug cnected to the battery simply unplug it... If you're still a little confused watch a video on youtube. Remember you don't have to unscrew anything else once your mac is open. Hope this helps, don't be scared to do this if you're new to opening macs.

For brightness you need the AppleControlPanel.exe file from the Boot Camp package to be able to adjust the brightness - don't install the whole of Boot Camp as it will cause problems on a non-Apple PC, just get this one file - I can provide it if you can't find it elsewhere.

The auto brightness button is near the top - the one that starts with "Optimal".
In English, that button says "Resolution - best for built-in display".
I see what you mean, though, as resolution and brightness are really different things.
Anyway, glad your problem is solved.

Can not adjust brightness and minimize and maximize the screen with Fn keys

I have bought a HP 15-D006TU laptop 1 week back. f2 and f3 for adjusting brightness and f4 to minimize and maximize the screen are not working. I am also trying to install the Hotkey driver which is mostly suggested here. but the version available is not supported. Can anyone help me out in this case?

Please note the compatible keyboard driver. I would suggest you uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard. How do I turn off "Automatically adjust brightness" on Mountain Lion using AppleScript

I'm new to Mac, Applescript and Automator and I'm trying to make a automation for when I perform on stage and found a script to set the brightness all the way up but can't find a script to disable "Automatically adjust brightness". Any help would be appreicated.

You could even both “set the brightness all the way up” and “disable Automatically adjust brightness” with just one and the same script:

Normally that problem occurs if you forgot to install the graphics driver.
