S.O.S - Server profile editing (5800XM)
Hi Folks !
Can someone please let me know how to delete a server profile I mistyped when trying to configure for OTA firmware updates ? I just pressed the BACK button when it was not finished properly and now when I go to SERVER PROFILES to edit or delete it, the screen says there is no profile but when going to SETTINGS it does appear !!! (the name is Nokia) how can I delete/edit this profile to do it right ? I want to delete it because when I try to start a new one it says that the server id "Nokia" is already in use and so I can not create another until the first one is replaced/deleted. PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEE !!!!
Thanks a lot in advance !
Regards.
what version of OS X do you have on your server? 10.5.6 introduced some problems searching Tiger shares but you should be able to search leopard shares.

Nokia 5800xm Server Profile Settings?
I am going to check any updates because the Nokia 5800xm that I purchased last month at Nokia Store is only version 20. I want version 40 or 50 for kinetic scrolling but when I "checking for updates", it always asking for Server Profile and I don't know what is the settings. I am only using Edge Connection because my phone supports only 850/1900mHz, the available frequency here in the Philippines is only 2100. Please help me thanks!
Hi there....
you can actually get the server profile to enable your phone to perform Over the Air Software Update by calling your Network Operator/Service Provider.

Please help me to choose the right Windows Server 2012 edition
Dear All,
I will plan for new hardware for a University. I plan to have Windows Server 2012 network with upto 10,000 users. I will have Exchange, SharePoint and SQL Server as well.
Please advice on what Windows Edition I should select as well as # of CAL to be purchased.
I am expecting to have a Server of 32GB of RAM, 12TB of hard disk. I will take advantage of HyperV to setup Database server, sharePoint and Exchange
ThankFor the CALs, you can read about them there: http://blogs.technet.com/b/volume-licensing/archive/2014/03/10/licensing-how-to-when-do-i-need-a-client-access-license-cal.aspx
For the Windows Server 2012 edition to use when involving virtualisation, you can read about that here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/7%2F7%2F0%2F7707E736-4557-4310-9709-87358F7E6D1A/WindowsServer2012VirtualTech_VLBrief.pdf

SQL Server 2012 Edition required for my case??
Hi,
I am setting up a SharePoint 2013 BI environment with minimal servers. Below is the configuration:
1) WFE1 - Front End Server Role
2) APP1 - Application Server Role with SSRS 2012, SSAS in SharePoint mode.
SQL Server 2012 BI edition is used here for SSRS and SSAS in SharePoint mode
3) DB Server - SharePoint content databases only
- Can this SQL Server be standard edition ? or does this server also need to have minimum BI features which means it should be BI or Enterprise edition?
Thanks
Sandeep
Sandeep Nakarmi www.snakarmi.meHi Sandeep,
Thanks for posting your query, Below are the URLs that describe the situation to USE the SQL SERVER Standard or Enterprise Edition for BI features. Kindly go through these URLs once to get the difference.
http://searchsqlserver.techtarget.com/feature/When-to-consider-SQL-Server-Enterprise-Edition
http://searchsqlserver.techtarget.com/feature/SQL-Server-Standard-Edition-Why-its-worth-the-cost
Of course, you will get more features for BI in as sequence SQL Server Edition mentioned below
Express < Standard < Enterprise
Moreover, browse the below mentioned URL to enable BI features in SharePoint
http://blogs.technet.com/b/ldusolier/archive/2014/05/19/use-of-bi-capabilities-in-sharepoint-2013-with-sql-server-2012.aspx

Speed of SQL server web edition is slow then express edition
Hello,
I have query regarding performance difference between SQL server express edition and web edition.
There two server with same configuration (8 GB Ram, 4 core, hard disk has about 90 GB free memory), both server has only SQL server not any other software or programs which affect the performance.
Software version as below:
Server1: Windows server 2012 R2 & Microsoft SQL Server 2014 - 12.0.2430.0 (X64) web edition
Server2: Windows server 2008 R2 & Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP2) - 10.50.4000. 0 (X64) express edition
I have restore one database backup on both servers (So on both server database with same records) and executed some queries on both the servers, Result bit surprising because express edition is always faster than web edition.
Then I have do following things but still result is same:
Rebuild indexes
Make max memory allocation same
Please provide me suggestion to improve speed of Microsoft SQL Server 2014 - 12.0.2430.0 (X64) web edition
Thank in advance. So exactly the same plan for both. What does Profiler say? Same amount of I/O, CPU? If so, next step would be to eliminate the network and other paths out from the machine. If it is a SELECT, then you can add INTO into a temp table and see if you get the
same performance. If so, you know the issue is with the data leaving your SQL Server ang getting to the client - those aspects.

Server profile difficulties...
Hi,
I have two 5800XMs. Both show no server profiles when I hit *#0000#. One, however, will download FOTA updates, the other does not. They both have a nokia server profile somewhere, one is correct the other is not. I have gone through the get advanced settings manual and everything works as designed concerning that. I have gone through the settings wizard and all works concerning that. I have done a reset on the phone (the one that does not delete user data).
Here is where my questions come in. There has to be a config file somewhere on this phone. Can I use ybrowser to make a copy and place it on the non working phone? Anyone know here it is located? OR... Is there a way to delete a server profile that the Device Update utility does not list as a server profile, but displays when you go to "settings" within that app?
thanksHi chunchen,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
If you encounter an error message like "Server not responding" during the update process, the likely reason for this is the update server being temporarily overloaded or there may be some other problem with your connection.
We would advise you to update your phone using Nokia Suite (go to Tools > Software Update). Alternatively you can visit your local Nokia Care Point and ask if they can help you with the update.
Hope this helps,
Puigchild

VPP Distribution issues with OSX Server Profile Manager
Hi, I have a new issue with my OSX 10.9.5 Server. I use VPP to distribute apps to users devices, when I would add a new user I would send them an invitation message through /profilemanager . All was working well until recenetly , the message still arrives in the users mailbox however when you click the "sign in" link on the "receive apps and books from xxxxx" email instead of opening through the Mac App store app it now opens Safari and connects to the profile manager server , any ideas ? it never has done this before and although I thought it was a new feature or method I can not seem to resolve the issue.
Hi if when you are redirected back to your Mac Server you enter the user name and password of the user you are trying to receive VPP apps for i.e the Open Directory credentials it will then open the App Store providing the credentials are correctly entered so it looks like an additional layer of security. The process is click on the link in the VPP invite email, this takes you to your Mac Server profile manager, log on with your OD account, App store then opens on your Mac like it used to.

Inserting data to a . SDF database (SQL Server Compact Edition connection)
Hi, all.
I'm working on a project that worked fine while connecting to SQL Server 2008. I used a connection string like this:
Driver={SQL Server Native Client 10.0};Server=myServerAddress;Database=myDataBase;Uid=myUsername;Pwd=myPassword;
Now, I've replaced all database connections in my project to work with SQL Server Compact Edition, and my connection string is something like this:
Provider=Microsoft.SQLSERVER.CE.OLEDB.3.5;Data Source=myDir\myDataBase.sdf;
After changing the type of connection, I'm getting an error on "DB Tools Insert Data.vi". This is what I get:
Error -2147217872 occurred at NI_Database_API.lvlib:Cmd Execute.vi->NI_Database_API.lvlib: DB Tools Insert Data.vi->Main.vi
Possible reason(s):ADO Error: 0x80040E30 Exception occured in Microsoft SQL Server Compact OLE DB Provider: The given type name was unrecognized. [,,,,,] in NI_Database_API.lvlib:Rec Create - Command.vi->NI_Database_API.lvlib:Cmd Execute.vi->NI_Database_API.lvlib: DB Tools Insert Data.vi->Main.vi
This is a simplified block diagram (as I said, it worked perfectly while using SQL Server 2008 connection):
Could you please help me?
Thanks in advance,
FranciscoHi, Steve. Thanks for your answers.
I worked around this problem by using directly a SQL query instead of this function (you were right, using DBTools Execute Query VI). But now I'm getting problems with other functions, when inserting data into the DB including NULL values.
I make a SQL query like this using DBTools Execute Query VI:
INSERT INTO Table1 (Column1, Column2, Column3, Column4, Column5, Column6) VALUES ('Value1', 'Value2', 'Value3', 'NULL', 'Value5', 'Value6')
and get the following error:
ADO Error: 0x80040E07Exception occured in Microsoft SQL Server Compact OLE DB Provider: A literal value in the command could not be converted to the correct type due to a reason other than data overflow. [,,,,,] in NI_Database_API.lvlib:Conn Execute.vi->INSERT (new) restricción (DBCT).vi->Restricciones a Base de Datos (DBCT).vi->Definir - editar restricciones.vi->Main.vi
The same SQL query worked perfectly when using the SQL Server 2008 connection, so it's not a database structure issue.
Could somebody please help me?

Access Mac Mini Server (profile management) through reverse proxy
Hi,
Newbie in Mac's world and yet trying to make it more complicated as it is.
As we recently (last month) decided to equip our sales force with iPads, they were configured through Apple Configurator tool running on a dedicated Mac Mini Mountain Lion.
Now, I'd be keen in moving this configuration to the Profile Manager, part of the OSx Server plugin. So far so good.
Problem is the following : another web server is already on the LAN using both 80 and 443 ports. So all incoming traffic on those ports was routed to this other server. As Mac Mini Server default http/s ports may not be altered, I installed a reverse proxy server (Oracle VM - Ubuntu 12.04LTS - pound), configured to deal differently traffic on those ports according to the domain name (host) of the web request (header). Each 'local' server has been allocated a domain name. Just to be clear, traffic is now routed by the WAN/LAN router, for those ports, towards the reverse proxy, configured to reroute the traffic to the correct destination.
So far so good, it works like a charm, except... as soon as we enter https protocol on Mac Mini Server Profile Manager.
Access from an iDevice to the Mac Mini Server Profile Manager login page is fine, but as soon as password is confirmed, safari is pending and finally a message 'An internal serer error occured. Please try later again' appears.
Looking to both reverse proxy system log and Mac Mini profilemanager.log files to trace the problem, the following lines are produced at this particular moment :

I guess the '302 Found' is causing or explaining the problem.
I agree this might not be a Mac issue, so I still knock your doors hoping some of you could at least give a hint for what to search for !
If the pound configuration file is of interest, just ask, but this is pretty trivial, saying basically listen these protocols (http/https) on these ports (80/443) and according to Header content (check destination host) and reroute packet to LAN device (with given LAN IP address).
As the default port(s) of the Mac Mini Web Services may not be altered (so far I know), I guess I am stuck using 80 and 443 anyway.
Maybe should I invest time in changing my other apache server ports to some more exotic 8080 or 88 or whatever so Mac Mini Server Profile Manager default ports 80 and 443 are maintained and can be easily and directly rerouted to my Mac server without any reverse proxy along the way.
Thanks in advance for your help
AlxHI All,
i'm also using reverse proxy technique to publish my server to the internet. The ip is used by twice domains. The problem is by using the profile manager
after login it redirects the url to the Local Area network addresse instead to the domain.
How to configure this on OS X Server and the Profile Manager Service?
Kind Regards

Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 2005Q2 fails to start - CLI156
I have installed and re-installed PE8.1 on my laptop many times (with security off). I followed Quickstart and after 60 seconds end up with CLI156. I have upgraded from XP Home Edition to XP Professional. I have been going round and round for the last 4 days. I have searched for CLI156 and have tried many options. Any pointers (if not memory references) would be appreciated.

Sql Server Web Edition Reporting Services errors when trying to connect to Windows Azure SQL
I am using a preconfigured image from the Azure VM Gallery to create a VM.
--> Sql Server 2012 SP1 Web running under Windows Server 2008 R2
After configuring Reporting Services I get the following error when trying to run a report that connects to my Azure SQL db.
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SQLAZURE' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)
On the VM using SSMS I can connect to the Azure SQL db. On the VM in Report Builder when I define a connection I get a similar error to the one above when I test that connection. I am using Microsoft Azure SQL as the data source type.
Interestingly in Report Builder, if I proceed past the connection definition, I can see the tables from my Azure SQL db in the dataset definition page.
One more note. If I use a different image from the Gallery (Sql Server 2012 Standard SP1 on Windows Server 2012) my report builder connection works and the reports run fine. I believe that the Azure documentation says that Sql Server Web edition
is an acceptable choice for the SSRS on VM for reporting.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks -- Tom ReillyHello,
A VM with SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012 supports all Reporting Services features, including all supported data sources, customization and extensibility, and scheduled report execution and delivery.
Did you run the report in Report Manager,or preview the report in Report Builder? Which version of the Report Builder you installed in the Windows Azure VM? SQL Reporting does not support reports created from Report Builder 1.0 or 2.0. You can create reports
using Report Builder 3.0 and then upload the reports.
What's more, please also check the database source credential of the report.

Fanny Liu

ThanksThis is an element ordering issue. env-entry is before resource-ref in the schema so it must be declared in the same order.

Edited by: mu_kumar on Mar 5, 2008 9:00 PMHello,
Did you download the window version?
Download it from
https://sdlc4e.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet;jsessionid=127ACE07200555497A21DDC654885146
And don't worry, it's the correct version. Also could you check on your PC,
Start\Programs\ Sun Microsystems\ Application Server PE 9.
Also which operative system are you using?

Hi All,
I would like to know what are the Drawbacks of using BizTalk Server Enterprise Edition 2009/2013 with SQL Server Standard Edition vs Enterprise Edition.
We are currently using Enterprise Edition.
1) Are there any adverse performance constraints? Microsoft mentions to use SQL Server Enterprise Edition for "Optimal Performance" but does not expand on the topic.
2) Any features missing?
2) Is there a supported way to downgrade SQL Enterprise to Standard for an exisiting BTS Environment?
Thanks!1) SQL Standard is limited to 4 CPU's and 64GB of memory while Enterprise is 8 CPU and 2TB or memory.
2) The only BizTalk feature dependency on a SQL Enterprise feature is BAM Real-Time Aggrigations which requires Analysis Services RTA.
3) Yes, but it's not a SQL downgrade really, you would move the BizTalk databases:
