S_RS_COMP and COMP1 in new BI7.0 Authorizations.

Hi to all,
I am bit struggling with the new authrisations in the BI 7.0 environment.
The problem is that we want to do away with the concept of using the S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 when building new roles.
I also read in some of the threads in SDN that in the new authorizations it is not mandatory to have the above auth objects.
However if I dont include the S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 i am not able to execute any queries via the Bex as well as cannot have any restrictions on the Info area through the analysis authorization objects via 0TCAIFAREA, 0TCAIPROV etc.
Can some one please help me as to what is the alternative to S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1 in the new scenario.
Any help or idea is welcome.

Thanks Chetan. Going through the thread I could conclude that it is not possible to have the Reporting authorizations without the S_RS_COMP and COMP1. Analysis Authorizations can only provide data level Authorizations and not reporting.
Am I correct in my understanding?

Hi...i think we have retractor programs similiar to BPS.
STS will not work with IP. You need to use BPS for this.

S_RS_COMP
Using this object I can limit which InfoArea or InfoCube a user can create, change, or execute an query on.
If you have two InfoCubes like SD InfoCube and MM infocube the you can restrict a user to query for only the MM InfoCube using S_RS_COMP. You can also use S_RS_COMP to protect a query name.
S_RS_COMP1
You can control the queries a user can see in BEx using S-RS_COMP1. It also control what a user can execute.

It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? Launch iTunes on the new computer. From the iTunes menu bar click Store / Authorize This Computer.
Connect the iPod to your computer then select it under Devices left side of the iTunes window.

Best practice for new analytical authorizations

Coming from old RSR concept, I'm currently trying to find a good solution for developing roles using the new authorization concept.
In BW 3.x, I just entered the activites directly into the authorization objects. Now, with the new analytical authorizations, I have to assign them via a single auth object. But what is the recommended way for the distribution of auth-relevant InfoObjects into single authorizations?
Example: let's say we have marked 0COSTCENTER as auth-relevant. In the old RSR concept, I just added the corresponding authobject to the role and entered the number of the cost center.
Now, with the new authorization concept, I first have to build an authorization for every cost center (CC1000, CC1001, ...) and then assign the corresponding CC authorization to the role using S_RS_AUTH.
That means, if I need to restrict the "usual" InfoObjects like cost center, company code, plant, etc., I have to prebuild thousands of AAs beforehand. Did I miss something? This new concept looks to me way more costly than the old concept.

When you have to deal with many authorization objects and many roles you can:
Use two kind of roles:
1. Make roles where you define what can be used for reporting eg. rights to infoobjects (you don't define S_RS_AUTH authorization object here),
2. Then you create special roles (say: ZBI_ROLE_(1..xx)_AUTH ) where you define rights to data that could be displayed (eg. restricting 0bus_area). In each that role you should define relevant authorization object (S_RS_AUTH).
You can combine theese roles to users:
User 1
ZBI_ROLE_1 (definition what data is allowed )
ZBI_ROLE_5
ZBI_ROLE_1_AUTH (eg. for 0bus_area=0001)
ZBI_ROLE_2_AUTH (eg. for 0bus_area=0002)
ZBI_ROLE_3_AUTH (eg. for 0bus_area=0003)
and so on ...

The $1.00 charge is just an "authorization hold" > iTunes Store & Mac App Store: About credit-card authorization holds that will be credited back to your account usually within 24 to 48 hours.

PFCG issue - removing transaction codes from menu and not clearing up the authorization tab

I’m using SAP ERP version ECC6 and EHP5 and also we have updated our system with the PSCD FI module.
I’m having the following issue in PFCG transaction code - I have created a new single role by copied other or from scratch and added few transaction codes into the menu. After that, I went in the authorization tab using the "Change Authorization Data" and I felled all the missing information until the role was green out. I generated the role then I totally went out. I come back to the same role that I created earlier and I did removed all the transaction codes from the menu and I did find the following:
- the Authorization tab light didn't change from green to red
- I went into the Authorization tab by "Change Authorization Data" and a part of the objects were still in.
Normally behave should be:
- when we remove one transaction code from the menu the light from Authorization tab should change from green to red. When you empty the menu then the light color should change also, but the authorization tab should be also empty.
Could please give me some idea how to do it next?

Hi Gabriela,
Most of the times standard roles contains manually added authorization objects. When ever you are creating a new role by copying the existing standard role so by default, these objects will come in to new role.
Now, coming to your role. After removing t code from role if nothing has changed in Authorization tab means.
Here are the possible reasons.
1. The t code which you have removed might not have any checked and maintained authorization objects, that's why your Authorization tab still in unchanged.
2. Rememeber, when ever you are adding or removing t code from menu always use expert mode for profile generation option along with "Read old status and merge with new data" Option.
This will bring the all checked and maintained data for each t code.
3. After removing the t codes from menu and if you generate the Authorization tab by using expert mode option still if you find authorization objects means, those are manually added authorization objects that's why those were not removed.
I hope this will give some clue to your issue.

Did you try to open teh fle by double-clicking its icon? If the file was made with an older version of Office, you may get that message. Try opeing PP and, from its "File" menu, see if you can open the ppt. I've foundthat often gets around that message and then yo ucan save the file from the newer version.

What is involved in removing an image from a PDF document and inserting a new one?

Our form producing process is very typical:
(1) Start with a TIFF image, create a fresh PDF document.
(2) By adding items such as links and interactive fields, convert the read-only document into an interactive form.
Step (2) may take a lot of work, but fortunately when modifications are needed, it is always possible to edit the individual items. No need to redo the whole form from scratch.
There are some cases, however, in which we have invested a substantial amount of work in Step (2), but we need to modify the underlying image, removing it and replacing it with a new one. We obviously don't want to destroy all the work done in (2).
I envision the procedure as taking a rug from underneath a person and putting a new one.
What is involved in doing that? Can that be done at the JavaScript level? Are there commercial packages that can do that? Is the Acrobart SDK required?

Macs use an application called Migration Assistant to copy material from the old Mac to the new one. The macs are connected together and each runs Migration Assistance and the user chooses what stuf to copy onto the new Mac.
Unfortunately I do not know how to do this between pcs or between a Mac and a Pf or even if it's even possible.
