Hello! I'm a new Lenovo laptops user. I'm very happy on receiving it.
But, as the subject says, I got a problem.
Today I've noticed something. I just played on YouTube some songs and some videos, and I just noticed that the sound is very thin!!!
If you could help me, I would solve this problem.

Embedded Youtube video sound issues HELP!!

In my 'animation' section I'm loading youtube clips to my site using this AS3 script found here.
This all works fine but when i use my buttons created in flash to load the new container_mc, the sound of the old video keeps playing. Does anyone know any AS3 script that will stop the youtube video sound playing when you click to load another video.
I'm pretty new to all this so any help would be great. Cheers

I found the same problem but, according to YouTube AS3 API reference, I solved it with the special function:
player.destroy();
It works. Just replace "player" with the instance name of your youtube player.
Quote from the documentation:
You should always call player.destroy() to unload a YouTube player. This function will close the NetStream object and stop additional videos from downloading after the player has been unloaded. If your code contains additional references to the player SWF, you also need to destroy those references separately when you unload the player.

Flash Player 11.7.700.169 and Youtube videos viewing problem

I have just updated to the latest version of Flash Player 11.7.700.169 I cannot view many of my favorite YouTube as it ask me over and over again to update to the latest version . This is the latest version and I did it 4 times in arow. Always unable to watch many Youtube videos now. Anyone had encounter the same problem? I have Vista and Explorer 9. This just happen this morning. Didn't have any problem yesterday before this morning.Can someone tell me what is wrong and help me fix this annoying issue? Thank you

I'm having the same issue; non-HTML5 videos won't play. Specifically they start for a couple seconds and then freeze. I'm running Windows XP and Firefox.. I tried de-selecting hardware acceleration, increased the local storage, and I don't know what else to do. XP, Firefox, and Flash are all the latest versions.
This has only been for the last 2-3 weeks, and the only things that have changed are updated Flash, updated Firefox, and supervisor installed Norton while I was on vacation.
Please, any suggestions?
ETA: And just like that, it's working! I think that I probably should have restarted the computer after changing my settings yesterday. Or not; still confused but relieved.

Intermittent loss of sound (not the video/sound problem)

I just got my third ipod (30G ipod with video) two days ago and I've encountered an issue.
Twice so far, after pausing my ipod for 10-15 minutes and then going to resume, I have lost all sound output. The first time it happened, the ipod showed progress in the song - but the second time, although the icon showed that it was playing, there was no movement in the progress bar.
All menu functions work properly and promptly - it's not just a freeze. I tried four different sets of headphones, all with the same result. The only thing I have not yet determined is whether the problem appears when the ipod is docked and audio is not going through the headphone port.
A reset seemed to resolve the problem, but I don't much relish the idea of having to reset the thing every day, especially when I have a 4G color that has NEVER had to be reset. This happens in regular audio mode (I know an issue exists with sound and video synchronization, but that hasn't been my problem).
I am considering rolling the firmware back to 1.0, but I am wondering if the problem might not be either related to the hard disk or even the headphone jack itself (each time the problem manifests, it has been after headphones were removed and later replaced.)
Any ideas, or is this a known issue? A quick search here and at ilounge yielded mostly discussions about the video sync problem. Any help would be appreciated!

I say nearly because my problem doesn't exhibit itself every time or I would have taken it to the Apple store and showed them. But this problem of yours sounds alot like mine. I used to think it was related to charging it hence the title on my first thread. But now I too think it's related to the ear plug jack. There is something about the sensor in it and the fact that it is a plug that has like 3 or 4 outputs, I wonder if the seating of the plug has to be right or it shorts out something just enough to screw up the audio. My second thread suggests my problem is related to the case I use which has material around the hole but not covering it. You insert thru the hole in the case and into the hole in the jack. The seating may not be 100% which may cause issues. You didn't mention a case...does yours have one?
Like you, I too had to soft reset the ipod to get it out of this wierd mode. Someone else suggested that when it happens turn off the ipod, pull out the plug, then re-plug it in, turn on the ipod. I have lately found that most of the time if I just unplug and replug the jack it clears the problem. I haven't had it fail enough times to see if this solution will fail or not. See if it helps your situation.

Speeding up youtube video sound distortion

when i go to speed up youtube videos cause i have so many subscriptions speeding them up saves time and most of them i can without losing anything but lately the sound at 2x gets choppy and above that is impossible to watch i know it seems an odd complaint it vastly slows down my youtube subscriptions

clicking on any video on youtube loads fine going to settings then speed normal speed works fine going up to 1.25 on chrome makes the audio crack every 10 seconds or so , going up to 1.5 the audio starts cracking badly and makes the video almost stop for 5-10 seonds and 2 makes it even more un-watchable, on internet explorer the sound distorts more and more but it doesnt stop running like on chrome but is inaudible 1.5 to 2 i disabled all extensions to chrome not sure if this would be a youtube issue or a flash issue but its not isolated to chrome, i updated windows today and even checked my sound settings to see if there is a change

Video sound problem

My music on iTunes plays perfectly but I have bought 2 videos from the music store and downloaded a few podcasts and the sound stutters really badly as if two different soundcards were trying to play the audio at the same time -needless to say I only have one soundcard installed. If I open QuickTime and play the videos in there directly they sound fine so the problem must be with iTunes itself. I am using iTunes 6 and the latest version of QT. I have tried all of the QT settings trouble-shooting suggestions on the support pages. I have got the most recent driver for my soundcard, I have the most recent version of DirectX and I have even tried changing my soundcard but the problem remains the same. Has anyone any idea what the problem is?

I am a new owner of iPod video and have used Videora. Tried several times and it is successful. For sound problems, I suggest you to look at 2 dimensions as well.
1. On the "setup" menu (right below "Convert"), there is a sound volumn for you to adjust. I found that I have to adjust it to at least 225% to make it audible thru my headphones.
2. For some DVD, there are multiple sound tracks of different languages, DVD Decruptor allows you to choose the subtitles and the language. Only click those that you want.

Video sound problem (surround plays as incomplete stereo)

I got some music videos from a DVD to my iPod with the help of someone on this forum, but now I have a new problem. On the DVD, there's an option to choose surround or stereo, but the videos automatically ripped/converted in an incomplete stereo, which seems to be playing only two of the five or six surround tracks. I couldn't find a way to change this in either program, but I'm really not very good at this yet. Help!
(in case it's of any relevance, the DVD was Peter Gabriel's PLAY, and I have a 5G 60GB.)

I used DVD Decrypter and Videora, because they're both free and I have no money right now. Is there another free ripper or converter that would work better? Did I just use the wrong [something] in DVDD? Do I absolutely have to buy software to do this right? If so, I'm just outta luck for a few months.
As a Mac user, I know nothing about Videora but can describe the process in MPEG Streamclip which is available for both Mac and Windows platforms. It is free but requires QT MPEG-2 component support which normally would cost about $20 from Apple. Fortunately, there is a free KL Alternative for Windows users described on the Squared 5 web site if you are interested.
What confuses me most is that some of the videos sound fine (Sledgehammer, Big Time) While others are obviously incomplete (Shock the Monkey, Games w/o Frontiers) and sound terrible, mix-wise. Did I do something right for half the videos and do it wrong for the others?
Depends on the application used. Handbrake, for instance, automatically mixes down multichannel audio to two stereo channels. On the other hand, MPEG Streamclip defaults to this option when opened but can be user modified to strip/map optional channels to stereo and, if desired mix the stereo channels to mono as part of the conversion process if desired. You should check to see if Videora includes similar user options which you may have failed to exploit fully.
What should I do, step by step? Or is there a tutorial I can follow?
Am sure there must be detailed tutorials available, but don't know of an specific URLs off hand. If you decide to try the MPEG Streamclip application (still requires the use of DVD Decrypter), can provide specific instructions if/when the program is up and running on your computer. Will also need to know target goals for conversion -- e.g., simple baseline or baseline LC profile requirements, etc.

Embedded video sound problem

Hi all,
This is my first time here...I embedded a youtube video into
my yahoo 360 blog and while the video works fine, I cannot hear
sound...I've rechecked all my flashplayer settings..everything
seems to be in order. All my visitors can hear the sound fine.
I can hear the youtube videos on the youtube site.....just
not on yahoo 360 or myspace.com
Any ideas of what I could try?

Found a solution... I saved my audio and video separately,
then embedded video but put audio in the timeline, now they play
together.
If anyone can point me to the pref that makes my exported
video only play 1x that would be great! i would like it to end on
the final logo and not return to the beginning....

Youtube video sound restarts when page back!

Since i updated flash player a few days ago i have this strange issue with flash player on youtube, i watch a video, than i go back a page, and on the previous page the previous video starts to play again, only the sound though! Today i received a update for Flash but it did not fix the issue! I am not the only one as seeing the many youtubers pointing out the issue here:

Just my $0.02... if you leave a page and the content on the previous page still plays, you've got some serious browser problems, or a video/audio hardware problem, in that your connection is going faster than the hardware can keep up with.

New iTunes 6.02 AND new QuickTIme 7.04 Video Sound Problems

Hi, I had updated my iTunes for Windows 6.01 and Quick Time 7.03 to the newest versions. The new software both yield the same issue for me. They will not play videos with sound properly. When I am on Quick Time and click to play a *.mov that I have had way before iTunes or iPod, and any other playable movies in Quick Time, the video starts, there is no sound for a few seconds and then this clicking sound starts. For instance if I had a movie that is abour 20 seconds long, it will never get the synced sound with it. Let's say the first sentence would be Hi, how are you today-----------------it sounds like this: Huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-huh-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how -how-how-how-how-how-how-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-er-e r-u-u-u-u-u-uu--u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u-u--u-u-u. I think you get the point. If this is a video with just sound and no spoken word in the video, it also sounds chopy, clicky, and vibrating like that and over the course of 20 seconds plays this out like this, when is should be the correct maybe 3 second part.
This also is the same exact thing that happens in the new iTunes. Exactly. Whether it is downloaded from the iTunes Store or imported in, or even converted with the new convert to iPod option.
The only good thing is when I put the 4 new movies on my iPod that I had converted form *.mov format with the new convert to iPod option, they play just fine on the the iPod which has the software version 1.0 software on it, not the newest firmware. But as I said nothing plays correctly soundwise from videos from the iTunes Software.
I tried uninstalling both new versions and reinstalling them with the same problem. I therefore uninstalled them again and installed iTunes 6.01 back on my computer and thus QuickTime 7.03 and there are no problems at all with either older version of iTunes or QuickTime.
Please advise. It this a diagnosed problem as of yet???

Flash/Youtube videos - sound out of sync over time -[CHROME]

Hi - i have some problems with videos in Chrome - when i watch videos - the sound gets out of sync from the video over time - in the start of the video the sound is perfect in sync - but after about 7 min the sound plays around 1-3 seconds before the video. it seems like the sound is playing at 100% speed but the video is only playing at 99% speed so the sound slowly gets more and more out of sync - have tried disableling flash in chrome in chrome://plugins but no result - have updated drivers

A/V sync is hard, and there are hundreds of ways to encode a video. Adobe provides guidance on how to best publish content to ensure that it consistently plays back well, but that's an uphill battle.
A direct link to the problem video is the most useful information you could provide in this case, along with details about your system. It would also be useful to know if the A/V sync problem goes away if you disable hardware acceleration, as described in the video troubleshooting guide.

Video sound problem weirdness

I ripped a couple od DVD's using 42dvdvxplus. Everthing seemed to go ok a few minutes into the movie the sound drops out. The only way I can get it back is if I push the center button on the iPod and fast forward a few frames and then the audio comes back. It's annoying to do but at least I have audio, which more than some of the poor folks muddling through all of the new iPod glitches.
For those of you interested, I ripped the DVD and dragged the m4v file into iTunes, then dragged it into the new iPod.
Anyone have any fixes for the audio problem. Seems like a hardware issue to me, but what the heck do I know.

It is worth remembering that the data rates for audio and video are added together to give the "Average Data Rate" for the movie. So if you push the upper limit with your video alone and then add another 128kbps for your audio, you will likely exceed the maximum allowed data rate. In addition, there will always be instantaneous spikes in this combined data rate. For instance, scenes with a lot of action typically have more inter-frame pixel information changes. These changes mean much more data has to be saved and processed. And this means data rates can jump dramatically. So, it is generally best not to push the limits of whichever format you use in the hope of materially improving your quality.

Youtube video upload problem - blank section at bottom of video

I'm trying to upload a video to youtube from a screen video capture (rocksmith) but everytime I upload the whole video has been vertically shifter by approx. 20% leaving a black blank area at the bottom. Any idea on how I sort this?

What is your Premiere Elements 11 project preset? Are you or the program setting it?
Assuming that before you upload to YouTube from within Premiere Elements 11 Publish+Share/Online/YouTube AND that your playback of your rendered Timeline looks OK, then I suspect here is the problem:
a. You have 1280 x 720 (16:9) video and you are settling for YouTube Presets: = whatever is there, probably Flash Video for YouTube which is 640 x 480 4:3 @ 30 frames per second.
So first thing to try is to upload using Presets = High Definition Video for YouTube which represents 1920 x 1080 16:9.
If that does not work, we can explore another possibilities, including exporting the Timeline to a file saved to the computer hard drive and then uploading that at the YouTube web site, not from Premiere Elements 11 and its Publish+Share/Online/YouTube.
We will be watching for your results.

Muse tutorial problems; ridged leaf placeholder graphic nonexistent, YouTube video embed problems

I've just started using Muse and it looks pretty great so far. I've been doing the Katie's Cafe tutorial and everything's worked out. However, when I got to "Adding a lightbox feature that displays video hosted on a third-party server" I ran into some trouble. Specifically, the tutorial speaks several times about a "ridged leaf placeholder graphic." Something I just don't see. Beyond that, I'm finding that what it says the Selection Indicator should say, and what it actually says are slightly off. And, finally, I've been unable to paste the YouTube embee code into the right spot, no matter what I do. It really seems like there's some sort of difference bwteen the muse used for this tutorial and the Muse I'm using.

Sorry for the confusion. There appears to be an error in the tutorial. I'll follow-up with the proper people to get the tutorial fixed. The new version of the lightbox composition does not contain those placeholder images.

X1 Carbon 3rd.gen Chrome crashes on Youtube videos after Intel HD Graphics Driver 10.18.14.42 update

Chrome crashes at Youtube videos after Intel HD Graphics Driver 10.18.14.4206 update on Lenovo X1 Carbon 3rd.gen. Since the driver update yesterday, laptop starts suddenly to overheat enormously and become super-noisy as soon as I try to open a Youtube video , no matter on Youtube page, or a external provider with embded youtube video. Chrome becomes unresponsible and has to be terminated. Laptop continues to use fan at extreme level for abot 20 more seconds and then cools down. IE plays youtube videos without problem and all the other videos from Facebook i.e. are playing. Tried original and also Beta version of Chrome, which doesn't help.

Hey guys, T450s user here. I think I found an even better workaround for this issue without having to disable hardware acceleration and lower the performance of Chrome as a whole. After long trial and error I found the that driver-related issue is generally narrowed-down to HTML5 acceleration for video playback. By installing the following Chrome Extension I was able to revert YouTube back to the old Flash-based YouTube player and now even 4K playback is absolutely stellar on my T450s running the latest .4222 driver directly from Intel's site! https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24964/Intel-Iris-Iris-Pro-and-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-64-bit This is of course by no means a fix of any kind but I think it is the best workaround that we have to this date without having to sacrifice performance in Chrome as a whole.
