S10-3T - Replace Wireless Card in minipci-e slot

Hi
I  removed the Atheros wireless card supplied with the S10-3T and replace it with an Intel one I have, and I got a message saying "unauthorised card please remove"... Also, the card I have is a minipci-e, so it will have to go into the slot saved for the 3g (could that be an issue?)
Do you guys know of compatible cards?
Regards
KK

The error indicates, installed card is not compatible. However, when you install Intel wireless card in place of Atheros wireless card it should be fix properly and in a same way as Atheros wireless card.
Kindly make sure you have updated BIOS as well, which is available on Lenovo website.
http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/uk/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_3299.html
The compatible wireless card is Broadcom BCM4313 and Intel Centrino Wireless-N1000

  • Replacing Wireless Card in T440p

I bought my T440p about a year ago. Been working fine and no real problems except when I purchased it I got the Intel(R) Wireless-N 7260 wireless card. Upon getting the laptop I realized it couldn't see/connect to 5ghz wifi networks and that I should have got a dual band card instead. I wanted to know a couple of things
    1) is it possible to upgrade/replace my current wireless card with a new one?
    2) if it is possible, is it something I can do on my own or would I need to send it in somewhere (I've never done anything like that before but I'm pretty confident in my abilities. That said if it is too technical I don't mind getting a pro to do it.
    3) again if it is possible which card would be a good replacement?
    Thanks for any help!

  • Replacing Wireless Card In Deskrtop

    Hello,
I need to replace my wireless card in my desktop. It is the orginial one that came with the computer about 5 years ago, it is an internal, skinny one with an adapter. I believe it is Lite-On Wireless USB 802.11 a/b. It doesn't have many bars and the driver is 2011 even though it says its the lastest driver. Any suggestions? I would like to get something without the adapter thing thats attached to it. Thanks

  • Replacement wireless card for Lenovo X60

I just Bought a lenovo X60 tablet (Type 6367-A15) and the wireless card it came with is useless beyond five feet of the access point. I have tried a few cards and they don;t work because of a bios 802 error saying the pcie card is invalid and the computer won't boot. Is there a way to mod the bios and remove the whitest? Alternatively where can I find a list of accepted wireless cards.
    Thank you for you help.

  • Replacement wireless card for dv7-4177nr

Hello, I am trying to find a compatible (internal) wireless for the notebook in $subject.  Looking at the manual, I see a listing of compatible chipsets, but I wanted to see if anyone could verify for me that the cards I found with those chipsets should be ok.
The manual I am looking at is here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02642701.pdf with the wireless information starting at the bottom of page for and continuing on page 5.  The cards I have found that appear to be matches are:

    Hi,
All compatible cards (with the part numbers) start from page 24 of the same manual. I suggest to use the Atheros AR9280 or the Broadcom 4322. These are only wifi chip, not combos with bluetooth but bluetooth connectivity can be added by a usb adapters. There is plenty of them on ebay.
    AR9280: 580101-002
    Broadcom 4322: 582564-001
Both chips are for the US etc..
edit: All three chips should work on your laptop but these are only 1x1 single band chips and won't support 5GHz network. 600370-001 is a Broadcom (4313) combo with bluetooth and the other one is the same Broadcom (4313) but only wifi chip.

  • Replacing wireless card for Twist (whitelisted 5Ghz card)?

    Hello,
I unfortunately bought Intel Wifi card and learned that it cannot be used due to whitelisting of cards...
The laptop had a lower spec Intel card.
I would like to switch to dual band (2.4 & 5 Ghz) card that has BT 4.0.
Which options do I have and where to buy it (part number) ?
    Thanks!

Everthing is whitelisted except your current one. GG

  • A20p, got a mini-pci wireless card working on it

I had thought this impossible. Everywhere i'd looked i couldn't find one person who'd got this working.
Today i've just done it. I had an SMC wireless router which had failed, it kept powering itself off all of the time so i'd bought a new router. Before i chucked the old router out i took it apart to have a look to see if i could find what had failed. To my surprise it had a mini-pci wireless card mounted in a slot on the mainboard (to give it wireless functionality i guess). I got the wireless card out and left the antenna leads still connected to the antennas on the back panel of the router.
Then i removed the mini-ethernet/56K modem card (IBM FRU-08K3125) from the A20p mini-pci slot and put the mini-pci wireless card in it's place. For the time being i left the antenna wires hanging out of the bottom with the router back panel and antenna still attached.
I hadn't got a clue who the manufacturer of the wireless card was but what i did have was the chipset number "TNETW1130GVF" which i obviously got off the chip on the mini-pci card. After a quick search i found some drivers that should be compatible with the chipset:-
    http://www.safecom.cn/code/support/DMF.aspx?pid=316#
I've also tried these (actually the same thing):-
    http://www.wireless-driver.com/download/other/2007-6-26/TI-TNETW1130GVF-Chipset-Driver.htm
I loaded them up and it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both driver downloads work!!!!
Now i've just got to find some internal antenna and wire them into the case!
Edit: i forgot to mention that the card is being recognised as a Texas instruments 802.11g MiniPCI card in Windows Device Manager (which is no surprise as it's a Texas Instruments Chipset). Also i'm on WinXP Pro SP3.

Who would have known? I wouldn't have expected a router to use a mini-PCI card.

  • S12 Wireless card compatibility

I noticed that S12 (nvidia) rejects other Wireless Mini PCIe cards
with error message "card not authorized".
Is there a list of cards that are accepted?
My card has a suspected defective contact. I expect that I must replace it soon.
Lenovo, please provide us with a BIOS update that is less restrictive.
    Thank you.

    Hi fr0ggie,
This should explain why it doesn't work.  Lenovo matches the card to the antennae in the computer in order to comply with FCC regulations regarding interference.
Any replacement wireless card has to have an FRU part number and be branded for a Lenovo.  A generic card won't work, even though it might be the same exact card.
If you suspect a bad contact, remove the card and gently clean the contacts with a pencil eraser.

  • Suggested wireless cards?

Well, it looks like there are issues with the wireless on my ASUS M2N32 mobo, so until I can get a good ethernet connection I'd like to find a good replacement wireless card. This wireless card would preferably not drop my connection at random intervals.
What options are there for cards that work well and play nice with Linux? I don't mind using ndiswrapper if I really have to, but I'd like to avoid it.

Im using a Asus 107g PCMCIA card, rt2500 chipset.
Im using the rt2500 driver that is available threw pacman, netcfg and archassistant, works whitout any issues.Havent had the chance to try WPA yet so i dont know if that works.

  • Help With Third Party Wireless Cards

Hello, I am needing some help with third party wireless cards. I have purchased and installed the Linksys WMP54G wireless PCI card into my G4. From what ive seen on the discussions page here, this card is known to work with the G4s in place of the more expensive Airport Extreme card. The only problem is that my G4 doesnt even recognize that the card is in the PCI slot. Ive tryed the other PCI slots and still nothing. Previously, i have tried using a belkin and a d-link card that have been known to work in the G4s as well, and had the same problem. I am 100% sure that the card is seated correctly, and cant think of any other reason why it shouldnt detect that something is in the slot. If anyone can inform me what im doing wrong, or has any info on how to get it working, that would be great. Thanks for your time,
    ~Jared
Powermac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.8)   2 gb ram, 200 gb hd, dual display

Yes, i run Digidesigns audio editing program called Protools on my Mac. It uses a PCI card to import mic/line audio signals into the program from the hardware interface. I tried moving the Digidesign card and putting the wireless card in the same slot, and still nothing, although the Digidesign card works fine in the other slots. Each time i moved the Digidesign card, it showed up in the different slots, although the ones that were open did not show up at all. Only the PCI slots that are in use show up in ASP on my machine. I have the FW-800 version of the G4, so im not sure if that makes any difference. I have never erased the PRAM before, would you be able to give me directions on how to do that? Thanks a ton for your help. =)

  • Wireless card could not connect after mother replacement

    Hi,
I just replace my lenovo T430i motherboard, everything working except Wireless card could not connect to wirelesss network. I take to the shop they replace new wireless card, but it still appear the same problem. Is there anyone having the same problem.
    Best Regards,
    Bunheng Mom

    Hello bunheng,
If you could please boot into BIOS at start-up.  On the main page this should show you your system-unit serial number, and the system board serial number. Could you check and make sure both of these fields are occupied.
    One step at a time.
    Hope this helps,

  • G62 Notebook wireless card replacement?

    Hi all,
I've got a HP G62-18sa notebook with the standard RT3090 wifi+bluetooth combo card in and I was wondering if I can replace it at all? I've been looking at this card http://is.gd/nNjsK8
Reason I'm asking is the RT3090 card has very, VERY bad support for Linux and I'm looking to replace it. If the above card won't fit can anyone suggest ones that might fit and work under Linux?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
There are 2 compatible wifi/bth cards for your laptop, the Ralink and a Broadcom 4313. I would suggest to disable the whitelist (list of the compatible components) in the BIOS and after that you may use the Intel 6230 combo card (any wireless card you want) without problems..
    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/20223-Remove-whitelist-check-add-ID-s-to-break-hardware-res...
I have disabled the whitelist myself and upgraded the wireless card to an Intel Ultimate-N 6300 450Mbps. It's not the best solution but works. I also use linux and Intel wireless cards have the best support, like HP printers..

  • Dm4-2191us wireless card replacement compatibility

    Hey y'all,
I got an HP DM4-2191us from Stables the other day. I've just arrived after a long 8 hour flight to my home here in **bleep**atoga, American Samoa, and am typing this message using a friend's laptop at a Krispy Kreme. Normally the internet's pretty fast here. But anyways my wireless ain't connectin on my DM4 so I took it over to our local repair shop a few blocks over in Suifaga to see if the boys there could get it workin again. To make a long story longer, they've just called me on my cell phone to tell me that they can't get the old wireless working. My friend Fabien's going to say to you what they said to him when i handed him my phone after they called me. Bye :-*

There is not enough time for my girlfriend to sending her laptop off to switzerland to fix. im am sorry, my first language is Tokelauan and I do not have a proper language driver for my notebook.
This ones i found the names for in her bios:

  • I want to replace my wireless card with a 5 ghz compatible card.. i have a hp pavillion g7-1220so ?

Anyone know which card i can buy who will work?

    Hi:
There are no 5.0 GHz wireless cards that will work in your model.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:
    http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02834058/c02834058.pdf
Supported wireless cards with HP part numbers are listed in chapter 3 starting on page 26.
The Realtek and Intel cards listed as dual band cards are not correct. The realtek 8188 card is a single band card, and the Intel 6230 has the wrong part number and no one knows what the right one is.  If you order the Intel card you get a single band Intel 1000 card or some other brand single band card.
You can only install one of the cards listed in the manual and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

  • Satellite P10-804 wireless card upgrade

    Hi,
Ive been trying to find a list of compatible wireless cards to upgrade my Satellite P10-804 but can't find any.
The the current wireless card is a Toshiba PA3171U-1MPC but it doesnt do the 802.11G standard and no WPA security.
Anyone know of what are good replacement cards that will work on my laptop?
Ive come across this one but Im not sure if it is compatible or not as I can't find any compatibility info for it: PA3416U-1MPC
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi
I think the PA3416U-1MPC should be compatible.
I mean the notebook supports the miniPCI Wlan card and the PA3416U-1MPC is a miniPCI Wlan card.
The WLan antenna behind the notebooks screen should be connected to the connectors placed on miniPCI WLan card.
The two connectors are marked with MAIN and AUX. Normally a white cable goes to the MAIN and a black to the AUX
