S10 Idea Pad Constant Hanging

HI is there anyone who can help???
I really hope that you can help me with some problems i encounter when using the S10.
The Problems encountered are:
1) recently the lappy will hang aftr startup to windows, the mouse wont work not even pressing Cnrt Alt Del. i will need to force shutdown the lappy..
2) but the lappy works well when there's no internet connection, i suspect that the lappy hung while auto connecting to available network connection.
3) i also went thru the system event log and there are errors in searching DHCP, DCOM and ipod service.  m going to uninstall the Itunes becuz i heard that itunes will crash the system(is it true?).
Will appreciate it very much if you could help me as i think its not a very big problem to send it for repair..

  • Idea Pad a10

I purchase a Lenovo Ideapad Android with touch screen; i'm using wi-fi on my tablet which the Lenovo picks up then it go onto the internet. How can i use wi fi without activating my tablet (which is not Lenovo) to use the internet via wi fi. When i turn on the wi fi or tethering hotspots the Lenovo ideapad picks up wi fi, but do not connect on internet.
If i want to use 3G how can i use this, please assist? Also tell me, how long is the warrantee on this idea pad (RK3188) in case you dont know which idea pad i'm referring to. thank you

What do you mean by Ideapad A10?? There are two, A1 and A1000, which one do you mean?
Anyway If you mean any of them, then there is no fastboot mode for both of them, as they are mtk devices. You will have to use SP flash tools instead.

  • Idea Pad N586

I bought my Idea Pad in Sept. 2012 as refurbished.  Upgraded from original W7 to W8.0 in Feb. 2013.  In the past few months, however, I keep going in circles and am very frustrated:
    - Windows Updates reappear after being updated and some won't update at all.
    - I try to repair WU to no avail
    - Upgrade to 8.1 is not in Windows Store
    - Standalone upgrade to 8.1 doesn't work (says my system doesn't support)
    - Lenovo update offers keep re-appearing after they've  been upgraded
    - Refresh doesn't work at all.  Gets to a point and "fails"
    - I even to re-install 8.0 from download, but it fails after 90% completion.
I've tried all the "fixes" from Lenovo, Microsoft, Windows, Internet blogs, etc. and, as I said, I keep going around in circles and can't seem to catch my tail.
Is it Lenovo?  Windows?  Other?  Or, have I learned a lesson about Lenovo and/or all refurbished laptop brands?

    hi eet,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Just to check, when you connect via the Ethernet, are you still getting the same problem?
When connected via the Wireless, can you try the following:
    - Open an elevated command prompt, type ipconfig /all and observe the TCP/IP IPV4 address
    Ethernet Adapter Wireless Area Connection:
DHCP Enabled ..............   xxx (value should be Yes  No)
    DHCP Server  ..................  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    TCP/IP IPV4 Address .....  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (preferred)
    Subnet Mask ....................  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Default Gateway ..............  xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    - If you get a valid IP address (192.xxx.xxx.xxx / 172.xxx.xxx.xxx / 10.xxx.xxx.xxx) then there's most likely a security software that's interfering with the internet connectivity. If you have Mcafee, Norton, AVG, etc., try to temporarily uninstall these softwares, reboot the PC and observe.
    - If you get a 169.254.xxx.xxx IP address then you're most likely getting a DHCP failover (APIPA).  check this thread and try the script made by cbautis2 to refresh the winsock and TCP/IP configurations of the PC and observe. In addition, ensure that the DHCP Client service is running under services.msc.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Connection problems with idea pad and public network

Moderator note; e-mail address removed to stop the spambots getting it

I just saw your post and I resolved this on mine for my wired connection. I'm willing to bet that the issue is the same for wireless. Here's what I found.
    Issue:
During the installation, iTunes installs some network components related to mobile device support over ethernet(Apple Mobile Device Ethernet Service - netaapl.inf). At the same time, according the logs, the install process removed OEM18.inf. This almost exactly coincided with the time that I saw the network connection die (preceded it by a few seconds).
Basically, iTunes appears to be removing a required network component.
    Resolution:
After installing iTunes and the network connection breaking, remove the network device from Device Manager and allow Windows to reinstall it automatically.
The following instructions are for Windows 7, but they are close enough to follow for other versions of Windows.
    1. Click the Start button (Jewel in Vista and Win7).
    2. Right-click Computer and click Manage in the menu that appears (type your password or click Yes if prompted).
    3. On the left side of hte Computer Management window, click Device Manager.
    4. Click the arrow (or plus sign) next to Network Adapters to expand that section.
    5. Right-click your network adapter and click Uninstall in the menu that appears.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Reboot.
Windows should automatically detect and reinstall your network device on boot.

    Krissy,
    Welcome to the forum !
I can appreciate that you have a lot of things on your mind and some of them we may be able to help you with here, and some may require support that is beyond what we can provide through the forum.
If you are missing driver support for your camera, I would start with downloading and reinstalling the camera drivers from our support site.  Here is the page for all the drivers relevant to the B570.
If you are unable to get the camera of other functions of the system working properly, you may want to give technical support a call 877-453-6686 in the US.  They can help you get the camera working again and can remote into your system if needed.
Some of your questions may related to some installed programs no longer working as you expect them too.  Missing buttons, etc.    For this kind of help, we have some support services that may be available for a nominal fee - these are LenovoCare Premium support.  The are available by phone or chat, and can also remote into your system to address some kinds of software and configuration issues that are outside the scope of normal warranty service.   The number is 877-737-1082.
Sorry to hear about your troubles.  I hope that some combination of these support options will help get your system working again the way you need.
    Best regards,
    Mark

  • Flash Player 10.2.153 constant hangs on Mac

"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly."
I got this CONSTANTLY. Constantly. Not just in Safari but also Firefox, Chrome and every single other browser. Even Firefox and Safari's special Flash Player process isolation didn't help, because the browser would outright hang as a result, usually with high CPU usage. It almost seems like in response to Mozilla and Apple's separation of plug-ins from the main application process to prevent the #1 browser crasher, Adobe figured out that they could still hang the browser even if they couldn't crash it any more.
The other annoying thing is that if you click either button, to abort it or to not abort it, the entire application's focus has been lost. Quit menus are greyed out, tabs cannot be switched, the browser's other windows cannot be switched either, etc and the system just beeps as you. The Dock menu items don't help either. The whole thing's still stuck behind the error dialog, even once that dialog has been dismissed. The only thing you can do is force-quit your entire browser and start over. It's actually better to let the browser hang and wait for the script to eventually either time-out or complete, which will also cause the dialog to dismiss on its own. Or the alternative is to deliberately crash the isolated Flash Player process - open your Activity Monitor (Mac) and force-quit the Flash Player process for Firefox or Safari.
What finally solved it for me was ditching Flash Player 10.2 and going back to Flash Player 10.1.85. Problem solved. Never again.
I know Adobe would rather you didn't, but if you have had this problem, try going back a version or two. The security issues that drive their constant revision of the product are probably unlikely to affect you if you're careful about where you go, and only run Flash content on known sites. Click2Flash might be worth installing as a further security measure, to prevent unexpected Flash content from leaping out at you.

If i disable raid, i still get the NV IDE BIOS screen, it just shows a message other than 'detecting array' with a flashing cursor and does exacly the same thing. It just wont get to the next stage.
I havent tried flashing the bios yet as my floppy seems to be dead. Could that help? Im not entirely sure if its the raid screen causing the problem anyway, it could be whatever is supposed to happen next, that just isnt.
    p.s. Clearing cmos didnt help.

  • Imac Core 2 Duo Constant Hanging - Needs Reboot to often!

    Hello There Forum
This is my first post on my first problem with my first apple product! been reading the forum tho and it looks the best place for help.
What it is - my 17" imac 2ghz Core2 duo keeps hanging (just showing the beachball and wont let me force quit or even click on anything) and i have to reboot by pressing the switch on the back - i've had to do it twice in the last hour! I have also had one hung boot. Everything else is fantastic, I have set the computer up with all my software and hardware so easily over the past few weeks and this seems to be the only problem i am having. I have also Had Days of ininterupted usage in the past few weeks. Seems to be when i use safari or firefox - less apparent since i made firefox default but i have it open a lot so it could be a coincidence?
I Have Checked the console and this message is always the last one before a crash:
Sep 25 10:14:38 D**-O***s-iMac-Computer mDNSResponder: NOTE: Wide-Area Service Discovery disabled to avoid crashing defective DNS relay 192.168.1.1.
This seems to be some kind of network problem form what i can find on the net but no clear answers or solutions.
Not really tried anything else - oh except i checked my ram with Rember and all was OK.
I am really loving the mac after 10 yrs of windows it is a breath of fresh air but i am sad to have this one little problem and was hoping someone could help
    Thanks - Dan
iMac 17" Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   My First Mac

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Welcome to the World of Macintosh. Felicidades on your first Mac.
Can you tell us what your are doing when this has happened? Are your surfing the net? I don't know a lot about it, but you are encountering a problem with a server that translates alphabetic domain names to the numeric addresses which make up the net. Has your ISP given you a specific DNS to enter in your network info? For example, if they require one in your configuration to connect and you use ethernet in System Prefs/Network/Show:Internet Status/TCP/IP you find a box DNS Servers where you enter the addresses from your ISP. They are optional and not all ISPs have one for you to enter. If you are using one from them you might contact and ask for an alternate. Or maybe they no longer use one.
Because you have forced quit your Mac you theoretically could have damaged the directory. It's a good idea to boot from the Install DVD and choose Disk Utility in the Utilities menu of the Installer and then choose your HD and Repair. Repair as many times as necessary until nothing is reported. You can then restart and go to Apps/Utilities/Disk Utility and select your boot volume and Repair Permissions.
    Here is a good site for maintaining and troubleshooting your Mac;

  • Constant hang/freeze/beach ball

I am experiencing nearly constant freezing/beach balls. I can barely type this as it hangs up every 30 seconds or so. It happens in all applications and the finder. The issue started a few months back (with an update I suspect), and I have since installed SL with negative results.
I have repaired permissions and the disk from the SL install disk and checked the hardware with the original system disks: all with no problems reported. Activity Monitor shows 27 GB free space on the HD, more than half the memory available and minimal CPU activity.
Not sure where to head from here, aside from installing SL from a clean disk...

I think that means that someone out there may be attempting to get into your computer and the firewall built into Snow Leopard is preventing that from happening. But I am not sure. Do you have a router attached between your Mac and your cable modem? You could try disabling the Firewall temporarily in System Preferences > Security > Firewall (click Stop) to see if that resolves your problem. If you don't have a router this could be a problem since without the Firewall you would leave the computer open to someone from the outside getting in.

  • Mini and constant hangs and beach balls of death

    OSX 10.5.8 2GHz 4GB, Safari 5.0
I'm starting to get quite frustrated with my Mini. I'm a power user and it's not uncommon for me to have 25 Safari windows going in tabs in the dock, and running LIghtroom, Photoshop, NeoOffice, Mail, Yahoo messenger, Gmail, Virus Barrier, 1Password, Little Snitch, Text Edit, Preview among other things all at once. I have nearly 300 applications on this machine.
Today I think I was running Chronosync and tried to take a screen shot of something (I use RapidoStart to get apps quick) - so I hit the key to show the apps, and click away on the screenshot widget to get the capture cursor and nothing - so I'm trying it over again several times and no reaction. I give up and a minute or two later I get the capture cursor over and over again 10x forcing me to use it to make it stop, and getting 10x useless captures.
That's just one incident. I'm constantly getting beach balls in Safari. Yes there might be some flash content - though I do also use ClickToFlash to stop most of it. I use Main Menu (handy drop down folder in the Menu Bar for all my apps) - sometimes I click on it and it doesn't react - or hangs and finally works after a looong lag or beach ball.
Sometimes when it's really bad I launch Activity Monitor - if I can get it to react. Safari not responding is the most common culprit, but more often there is no CPU hog or frozen apps on the list. It's just slow and sticky all the way. I do repair disk permissions regularly as well as backups with Carbon Copy Cloner and Super Duper - both.
The reason I got the Mini was to get rid of these problems - same things that happened even worse on my White iMac. Now it's the same stuff all over again. Pre-OSX Macs NEVER hung when I clicked on something - now it's constantly click and grind. I want immediate and fast use and navigation - is that so much to ask?
Thinking about going to a faster CPU iMac model - or any other suggestions would be helpful. Roto-rooter for clogged OSX? Thanks!

    Thanks everyone for the input!
I've been through all the standard stuff (troubleshoot the beach ball) many times.
I was thinking that it's just the Mini coming up short on processing power - but I would agree it's part that - but also quite a bit in the way I work. I never shut down the machine - also a good idea to clear out the cobwebs and reboot or shutdown more...
Shovebox is something I have but never tried - running it now to see if that helps - but part of the reason to keep many windows/tabs going is to maintain active logins on sites - and to have fast retrieval, instant participation, and reminders of current items - shopping, research, discussions, blog, webdesign, web galleries etc.
Safari does seem central to some of the problems. I'm always trashing cookies and dumping the cache (something else that causes a mega-beachball). Firefox might be an alternative - but it's not currently working with my wireless Kensington keyboard button and scroll shortcuts for web surfing (possibly could be reprogrammed though?). It also seems a bit slower and is not as well color managed/correct as Safari.
I got Virus Barrier as part of a MacHeist deal - it's subscription has run out though so not something I'm interested in continuing with. Probably worth uninstalling to see if that helps. I never did really run into any Viruses anyway! It's mostly ParanoiaWare, LOL.
I'm slowly transitioning away from the PPC apps.
Interesting comment about not using Widgets - guess they just put them in there to degrade OSX performance so it's more like a PC! LOL
I'm guessing a new iMac might be a big bump in speed as well.
I resisted them and chose a Mini because of the horrible glossy screen. I'm a professional photographer so it is critical to have the most accurate non-fatiguing monitor possible - not the "newest and shiniest" just that looks good in a retail store.
So if the Mini isn't enough computing power and the iMac glossy display *****, there's no where left to go in the mid-range. Probably go iMac and use an external "good" monitor for critical editing work - and the glossy useless one for the web and everything else. A Mac Mid-Tower would be the answer - but nope.
OK thanks again - that's a good start to hopefully improving performance!

  • Premiere CC 2014 'Media Pending' & constant hanging/crashing

I have a Macbook Pro retina, using Canon 5D mk3 footage.
I am working on a few projects and keep experiencing a problem where the program monitor will just 'hang' on a certain frame during playback, other times (less often) will display 'media pending'. In either case, once that happens, there is no going back. I can still save the project, close and open the program monitor, playback works for audio .. but no playback of video. Sometimes it crashes completely.
Most of the time I have to save and then quit, and then load up Premiere again. Although it sometimes hangs after about 1 minute of use. I think I have restarted about 20 times in the last 2 hours - its ridiculous.
    - I have tried emptying cache / media cache etc
    - I have tried copying the sequence and pasting into a totally new project only to find the same problems come up eventually
    - This is a new install of premiere on a new install of Yosemite (no preferences applied yet)
    - It seems worse when there are multiple video tracks
    - Can I get a refund for this month of CC? My videos have taken twice as long as they should have because of the bugs in this program.
    - I'm serious

You're not the only one having these issues. There are couple of threads under adobe forums regarding this issue. Couple of users solved their problem by unchecking the labels regarding XMP under preferences-media.
I'm on latest mountain lion and also deleted the cache manually under the common folders. Have multiple layers and haven't had issues prior using PR CC 2014 on the same project.
Same problem as yours, no video only audio playback, unresponsive behaviour and eventually a crash on quit which I have to force quit.
