S300. Win 8.1 LAN dial

Drivers were updated from this site after win 8.1 setup.
1. Start button turns totally black on mouse moves to it (just after driver installation).
2. Switching VLC Player to High performance mode in the CCC causes its crash on every playback, however with Standard graphics everything's fine.
3. When turning on Camera or wathching video in new MS UI, picture is crazily blinking. I thjought that it was a camera problem, but then experienced the same when watching video. In desktop skype camera is working fine. so it's a video problem for this interface.
4. PPPOE via LAN causes 651 error on first dial. Second dial is OK.
5. After installing win 8.1 in Power options i have to disable Speed startup (or smth called like that) at once, because after few working time it can't shutdown or sleep or reboot without it's forcing with power button. Don't know whether it helps further and this problem will not appear again. But once my laptop gone asleep with option mentioned enabled (by default), voila - no more restarts, shutdowns etc. Helped reinstalling Win, but maybe there's simpler desicion with cleaning some hibernate or other file...
Solved: Installed unsigned drivers... cool. who cares)

Probably best to restore the system to a previous state which was functional, you should be able to do this through the repair options at start up or through safe mode.
Another option would of course be to return the system to it's factory state.

  • Nokia 5610 - the lights are singeing from time to

    Hi
On mi Nokia 5610 , the lights are singeing from time to time
At the attached doc file , the lights are marked with blue arrows
Question 1 : Why does the lights are singeing ?
Question 2 :How can I stop it ?
    thanks in advanced

Yep, I have no problem in Win with the lan, and in mandrake, after years of strugle with the control center, I got it to work.
Good Idea, I'll do that (exchange cards).

  • WRT610N slow network

    Hardware:
Linksys WRT610N Dual-N Band Wireless Router
    Samsung NC10 - winxp - gbit lan
    Sony vaio dz61WN - win 7 - gbit lan
Iomega netwerk drive - gbit lan
    Playstation 3 - gbit lan
The problem is that the router detects the Samsung NC10 as the only device with gbit interface (blue light on the router) all the other devices gets a green light and the data transfer is horrible slow (2,5MB). I tried to update the drivers on the VAIO, no different result.
Who knows what to do or what can i try to make it work as it should be.

Also check this topic about the blue/green lights of the 610's NIC's:
    http://forums.linksysbycisco.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&message.id=135700
So blue light =  10/100 Mbit, green light = 1 Gbit. (I checked on my router and attached devices. Indeed the blue/green seems to be switched)
Anyway it will not solve your performance issue, maybe help you a little bit.
Next to that I would also like to know how to set the 610's NIC's to fixed settings. Or if I could see the current port settings of the NIC's that would be also very helpful.
    Good luck!

Ho un Imac g5. OSX 10.4.6.

Yes, I supposed that tis forum is mayorly in english.
Now, my english is quite terrible, and I hope in the italian users.
May be in italy there are few Mac users.
    So I retry in english.
    Please do not laugh.
I have a Imac g5. OSX 10.4.6. I can connect it in Internet, upload and download, I can connect an Ibook (OS 10.3) and see all volumes on it. Connecting a PC (win XP pro) I only can connect to default public folders. If I try to share all HD (C:) from g5 I see only the alias (or win name) of c: ; c.ink and I'm not able to browse this volume.
Moreover, i cannot connect my g5 from any computer, Mac or Win, on my LAN, I see it, but the login is unsuccessful.
USN and PW are of course correct.
Until I used OS9 I never had any problem.
    Can someone help me?

  • OSX 10.5.7 seems to mess up DHCP on my Linksys WRT54G2

Our config: home, wired and wireless LAN. 2 PC's with Win on Wired Lan. 2 MBPs (one new and one old) working on both wired and wireless. And some other less used machines like an old Mac. O, and Xbox, Xbox360. Router Linksys WRT54G2.
All of this has been working for months. Router is setup to provide LAN-devices IP via DHCP.
I also use my new MBP while commuting: it then uses wireless internet.
Since i upgraded to 10.5.7 it seems that whenever i connect my MBP to the LAN, the router doesn't issue an IP-address to my Mac (my Mac self assigns an 169.xxx-address. Worse: all other machines on the LAN loose their IP-address! I need to reboot the Linksys a couple of times, and then it works again ... I think there even was a time the problem occured some time later, while i was still working & connected.
Is it really me/my MBP? Well, it looks like it, since as long as i'm not home, the family is happily connecting their machines to the internet without problems.
First i thought it might be the router, so i upgraded to the latest Linksys. Did not help. I have searched the internet for a couple of weeks now. I have tried creating a new location on my Mac: did not help. I have tried switching from DHCP to DHCP+Manual IP and back (read that somewhere): did not help.
I wish i could role back the update, and see whether that would solve the problem, so i know for sure it is this 10.5.7 update that is causing the problem. But after trying all kinds of things for a couple of weeks now, it really looks to be the 10.5.7 upgrade.
Anybody with ideas? If i need to provide more info, please let me know what i left out. And please don't assume i haven't tried the obvious, even if i forgot to mention it here. But if in doubt, ask me, and i'll let you know .

@Nerowolfe. 1st of all: thank you for your reply & time!
The WRT54G2 is a brand new Linksys. I know Linksys for being a good brand, and assume the fact it concerns a new model, should mean basic stuff like DHCP should not be a problem. On the other hand i know everything is possible with computers . That said: i did an upgrade to the newest router firmware on purpose: i did not in the 1st place look for the problem with 10.5.7. But after having tried to rule out everything else, and having noticed the problem started (as i recall) the moment i had upgraded, i think 10.5.7 plays a role.
I thought to post my experience and idea here, to see whether other people have similar problems. That might eventually lead to a solution.
I will (did not yet do that) also post my problem at the Linksys-forum, as i agree, it might be the combination.
But it does look like something changed in the network parts of 10.5.7 compared to its predecessor. And i would hope some engineer would know what that change is and be able to explain what the problem might be?
I know changing anything is a risk. But also that upgrades most of the time need to be applied for security reasons? You say: make a backup. What is the easiest way to do that? I normally backup my data, but not the whole system. I would hope it would be possible to role back any update; that would be good engineering?
Anyway: the problem still exists, and any help is welcomed! If my post at Linksys leads to a resolution, i will post it here.

  • SIP Trunk Configuration

    Hi
We are migrating from Analogue to IP Telephony. I have recieved the following guidlines to configure the SIP Trunk:
    *For signaling: use IP :  x.x.211.70   ( SIP ) on PORT 5060
*Regarding Numbering Format, use the following:
    •             For outgoing Calls :
The originating Number (A#), should be 96611510XXXX format.
The Destination Number should be 0NXXXXXX (N area code) or 00XXXXXXXXX (for international)
    •             For incoming Calls:
The Destination Number (B#), should 011510XXXX Format.
The originating Number (A#), will be 0NXXXXXXX or 00XXXXXXXXXXX Format
    *Use Audio Codec's G711-aLaw ; G711-uLaw & G729
    *Use T.38 For FAX
    *set DTMF to RFC2833
*Make sure to reply with 200Ok for our OPTIONS messages ( ping messages for the SIP)
    * configure the following SIP Timers:    “Min-SE=1800 “’  & “Expires=300”
    For connectivity consider the following:
SIP CE: 10.65.13.110 (it might be needed to translate this IP to the PBX local IP).
    SIP GW: 10.65.13.109
    Subnet mask: /30
    SIP VLAN: 1191
    Notes:
Kindly make sure to have GO SIP GW (x.x.211.70) routed to SIP GW (10.65.13.109) as next-hop.
Kindly make sure to have SIP CE IP addresses are in VLAN 1191.
Can please anyone explain what have to done?
    Regards

    Ahmed,
Wao..Where do I start...This information is required for configuration on your CUBE..which will be your 2921 router...
Ahmed, here are some pointers I wrote a while ago..
In addition to these points, you will need to configure your cube to be able to route traffic to your ITSP using all the information given to you
    1. Configure CUBE for media flow through. In this Mode CUBE acts as a true B2BUA. Advantages you get include address hiding and security becaue CUBE terminates and re-originate both signalling and Media. In this mode CUBE becomes a point of demarcation from th external world.
    2. Configure CUCM to use Delayed Offer and CUBE to convert delayed offer to ealry offer...This prevents the need for you to use MTP to send Early offer on CUCM
    voice service voip
    early-offer forced
    3. Configure DTMF signalling method on sip trunk to "No preference" This setting allows Unified CM to make an optimal decision for DTMF and to minimize MTP allocation.
    4. Configure your CUBE to meet the requirements of your ITSP. Ask if they have configuration templates or any specific configuration they like you to use. This will save you time troubleshooting. Most of them dont use the default port 5060 because of security, confirm with your proivider what ports they use.
    voice service voip
    allow-connections sip to sip
    sip
    early-offer forced
    header-passing
    error-passthru
    5. Use SIP to SIP...Use end to end sip. CUCM---sip---CUBE--sip----ITSP
    6. Create a Trusted list of IP addresses on your CUBE is your CUBE IOS is 15.1 .2(T) and above.
    voice service voip
    ip address trusted list
      ipv4 203.0.113.100 255.255.255.255
      ipv4 192.0.2.0 255.255.255.0
This is imprtant because sometimes your ITSP will send you a single ip address for signalling and will then send media on a different IP adress. So get all the IP address your ITSP is using and add them to the trust list as shown above
    7. Configure your inbound and outbound dial-peer approriately
Inbound Dial-Peer for calls from CUCM to CUBE (CUCM sending 9 +all digits dialled to CUBE)
    dial-peer voice 100 voip
    description *** Inbound LAN side dial-peer ***
    incoming called-number 9T
    session protocol sipv2
    codec g711ulaw
    dtmf-relay rtp-nte
Outbound Dial-Peer for calls from CUBE to CUCM (SP will be sending 10 digits inbound)
    dial-peer voice 200 voip
    description *** Outbound LAN side dial-peer ***
    destination-pattern [2-9].........
    session protocol sipv2
    session target ipv4:
    codec g711ulaw
    dtmf-relay rtp-nte
Note: If more than 1 CUCM cluster exists, you will have to create multiple such LAN dial-peers with “preference CLI” for CUCM redundancy/load balancing
Inbound Dial-Peer for calls from SP to CUBE
    dial-peer voice 100 voip
description *** Inbound WAN side dial-peer ***------------------(catch-all for all inbound PSTN calls)
    incoming called-number [2-9].........
    session protocol sipv2
    codec g711ulaw
    dtmf-relay rtp-nte
Outbound Dial-Peer for calls from CUBE to SP
    dial-peer voice 200 voip
    description *** Outbound WAN side dial-peer ***
    translation-profile outgoing Digitstrip
    destination-pattern 9[2-9].........
    session protocol sipv2
voice-class sip bind control source gig0/1
voice-class sip bind media source gig0/1
session target ipv4::XXXX (where XXXX is the port number your provider is using if different from 5060)
    codec g711ulaw
    dtmf-relay rtp-nte
    8. SIP Normalization:
You may need to configure sip normnalization to modify sip headers, CLI etc. A good example is during call forwarding. You may need to change your diversion headers to  match the CLI your provider is expecting.. if your call forwarding is failing during testing this may be the reason..We can help you with this.
    9. Media Resources
Plan your solution properly. Consider if you will need Xcoders, MTP, Conference bridge etc. You may avoid the need for xcoders if you confure your regions properly and use voice class codecs on your sip profiles. It is important to know if there are any endpoints in your network that do not support dtmf relay rtp-nte. You can avoid the use of MTP if you configure your dial-peers to have multiple dtmf types for thos phones that do not support rtp-nte
    e.g
    dial-peer voice 1 voip
    session protocol sipv2
dtmf-relay rtp-nte digit-drop sip-kpml (if your phones support kpml..then this will be used)
If in your environment you will need to do xcoding or CFB then ensure you have PVDMS
    .10.FAX
If you have FAX in your network, determine what fax protocol your sip provider supports. Dont assume. Ask them and confirm in writing  what they support. I have seen legal cases because of fax failures over sip trunks
Configure your FAX devices in seperate device pools and use porefix to route calls using G711 only. Even if you are using T38, ensure your fax use G711 to establish the voice calls
    Finally
    11. Have a detailed and carefully planned TEST Plan. Test the FF:
Inbound and outbound Local, Long distance, International calls for G711 & G729 codecs (if supported by provider)
Outbound calls to information and emergency services
Caller ID and Calling Name Presentation
Supplementary services like Call Hold, Resume, Call Forward & Transfer
    DTMF Tests
Fax calls – T.38, modem pass-through--whichever one you decide to use

  • Dreamweaver CC works with github, but not bitbucket

I have Dreamweaver CC installed and try to use it with SVN.
On github it works just fine with HTTPS and an URL like https://github.com/username/project
But on the other hand, bitbucket give me an error message when using HTTPS and a URL like https://[email protected]/username/project.git//[email protected]/username/project.git
    Dreamweaver
Auf den Server und das Projekt kann nicht zugegriffen werden. (OPTIONS of 'https://bitbucket.org:443/dorianvasco': 200 OK (https://bitbucket.org))
    OK
My system: Win 7 X64; LAN Connection
Thanks for any advice. Do you need any more informations?

I've found a workaround for this (I'm using the Trial to push my bosses into buying but it should probably work with the final version too).
1.- Set up your site without check out or svn (save)
2.- Edit your site and add the check out option in servers - make sure you put in a name or it won't let you save later on (don't save)
3.- Set up your SVN info (say yes to disable check in)
4.- Save your site and exit Dreamweaver immediately
5.- Open registry editor and go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Common\13.0\Sites"
6.- In the list (-Site1,-Site2,-SiteN...) go to the site you want SVN on
7.- Find the key labeled "SiteServer N\Enable Check In/Check Out" (it should be a value of 0x00000000)
8.- Edit that key (right-click -> Modify...) and change the "0" to "1"
9.- OK out of regedit and close it
10.- Dreamweaver should now be able to connect to SVN without a problem
It looks like it's an error with the Site Manager in DW, since all I'm doing is changing a setting and it works fine.

  • Win 7 pro sends incorrect username when attempting to connect to another machine on lan

Under 'Network -- when typing name such as \\computer0:
Cannot successfully login/join/access xp pro machine on lan under win 7 PRO sp1 (\\computer1) but CAN do so under win 7 home premium sp1 (\\computer2).
Looked at credential manager (on both computer1&2) and entries for \\computer0 are almost identical. Successful machine shows username: \\COMPUTER2-MACHINE\myusername and unsuccessful PRO machines shows username: myusername. Passwords are correct and
    the same.
When I created a new entry on \\computer1 as 10.0.0.11 for \\computer0 and added the same username and password, it DOES logon/connect/access computer0.
I am certain the username is being passed incorrectly as the currently logged on user on computer0 rather than the user name defined in credential manager.  I have run Wireshark on computer0 during the failing computer1 attempt to access \\computer0
AND during the successful access by \\computer2 to access \\computer0 AND when \\computer1 successfully accesses computer0 via using \\10.0.0.11  The username in the security blob | ntlm secure service provider ... is clearly shown to NOT be what is defined
    in credential manager.
    Any thoughts? suggestions?
    tia,
    Steve

    Hello Andy,
Thanks for your suggestion.  I tried it.  No luck.  Same situation. CAN logon to \\10... but not to \\computer0
I deleted the entries. Rebooted. Tried access to \\computer0. Failed. Created credential. Tried. Failed. Tried \\10... Failed. Created credential for 10... Tried. Succeeded.
Can you tell me how I can completely delete the credentials?  (It's a recently purchased used laptop and not much of mine installed on it yet.)
Are there any 'reserved word' credentials that might conflict with my 'computer0'?  It's real name is \\ma785gm after it's motherboard.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Photoshop CS5 - win 7 - 8.1 64 bit - Lag to open files from lan

    Hello,
we have got a problem with photoshop. If we open a file from lan, photoshop wait some seconds before open it, even with very little pics. It has a lag of some seconds before start to open it. With local files is the same.
If I erase the recent files list and then I try to open a local file, it opens immediately. If I open a lan file and then I open a local file, the problem returns.
It looks like a recent file list problem. I tried to set it to 0 but nothing changes, because it save the recent list anyway but simply it doesn't show it.
I tried to disable the suitcase extensis plug-in (the only plug-in we have added), I tried to disable kaspersky antivirus, but nothing.
We have this problem with all 3 workstations, 2 with win 7 64bit and one with win 8.1 64 bit. With the older station the lag is bigger (5-10 seconds for every image). With the newest station 1 sec.
    Is there any solution?
Is there anything to do for stop the recent file list to work?
    Thanks a lot
    Nicola

Are they on the same router are there different OS,  adapter speeds file system involved.  On my home network where my windows machine are connected to the same router with 1GHz ethernet a 20MB CR2 file takes only a second or two open in ACR.

  • Using javamail with dial-up connection and LAN

    Hello,
I'm using javamail on Windows XP (including service pack 2). When I connect to a mail server on the network, everything is OK. When I connect to a mail server using a dial-up connection, everything is OK. But when I try to connect to a mail server for which I need the dial-up connection and I also have a network connection to my LAN, the connect to the mailserver failed. It looks like JavaMail is searching the mail server on my LAN instead of on the dial-up connection. Does anybody know if I can configure JavaMail to search on the dial-up connection? Does anybody know if this problem will also occur on systems where I have multiple network cards?
    Regards,

  • Satellite C55T: Win 7 does not recognize LAN and WLan card

    I have a problem.
Ive downgraded my Toshiba Satellite C55T-A5222 to Windows 7 64-bit and he didn't install many drivers.
The windows didn't recognize my network connection and he didn't install my wireless driver.
Maybe I need a chipset driver but I didn't find any drivers for windows 7.
    Please help me!

If Windows 7 did not recognize the LAN and WLan card, you did not install proper drivers.
Satellite C55T-A5222 is US notebook model.
The drivers can be downloaded from this Toshiba US support page: [Satellite C55T-A5222|http://support.toshiba.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1200005866]
Here choose Drivers /& Updates and the filter by Windows 7 64bit (on the left)
Now you should get all Win 7 64bit drivers for the Satellite C55T-A5222

  • N580 Win 8.1 suddenly lost internet, both on WiFi & LAN

This laptop had been sitting on the shelf several months.  It was upgraded to Windows 8.1 over 6 months ago.  I ran it all day yesterday to move files to it and away from it, also imaged the HDD using Seagate DiscWizard.   While all this was going on, Windows Update ran and installed several packages.   Suddenly I lost all internet connectivity.  I have AVG antivirus & the visible evidence was a yellow exclamation point on the AVG icon on the taskbar.  Nothing that needed to access the internet could do so.    The Network and Sharing Center said I was on the internet and joined to my homegroup, whether I was connected by wireless or LAN.  I could not access the router using the usual 192.XXX.XXX.XXX code, though I was able to from other computers connected to the same router, WiFI and LAN connections gave the same result.     I rebooted the N580 several times and reset the router, with the same results.   While this was going on, I had several other computers connected to the internet through the same wireless router, with no difficulty.   The Win 8 network troubleshooter said it couldn't find the problem.  Otherwise the N580 acted normally.
I still have the OEM HDD that I removed shortly after I bought the N580 in May 2013.  I swapped this HDD into the N580.     With the old software on the HDD, the internet connectivity was just fine.
So the N580's hardware is working normally, as are my home internet connections.
The problem is obviously in the software on the HDD I was using & updating yesterday.   I suspect one of the Windows updates caused the problem.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Disable your antivirus or uninstall it as it could be blocking your internet.

  • LAN games with WINE

I'm preparing for another small (<5 people) LAN party and we're getting desperate to find some more decent games.
What worked for us the last few times:
    Unreal Tournament
    Quake 3
    Rune (with Bot Mod)
    Counter Strike 1.6
    Half Life Deathmatch (No Bots)
As you can probably tell from the list above we rather prefer the classics over current/modern games.
We're planning to test Age of Empires 2 (just read about the direct play fix), Warcraft 3, Flatout 2 and some Command & Conquer.. but no clue how well they work
I'm aware of winehq, but it's a pain in the a*se as you can't filter for LAN games..
    We're grateful for any suggestion.

Im pretty sure the first Starcraft works over LAN, its also rated as gold under the AppDB. If you've never tried it you may like it, Its also an RTS like Warcraft 3 (which is also Gold under Wine), Age of Empires, etc.

  • IMac on a dial-up LAN?

I'm on dial-up in Asia, using a 2005 G4 Mac Mini PCC with internal modem. ADSL is available here, but it's double the price of dial-up and no faster. Dial-up suits me fine.
My 6 year old CRT monitor is on the blink, and I'd like to get a new iMac, but they don't have modems installed.
    Question:
If I get an iMac, and configure it as part of a local network, or LAN, consisting of the iMac and Mac mini (without monitor), can I use the Mac mini's modem to connect to the internet?
I suspect not, because to activate the modem I have to have a GUI on the mini. Unless it is possible to activate the modem through the iMac's GUI?
The Mac mini uses Tiger 10.4, the iMac would be Snow Leopard.
If this plan won't work, I'll just get a new monitor, and stick with my trusty Mac mini. Six years old and sweet as a chestnut. For me OSX reached it's zenith in Tiger: Leopard leaves me cold.

Thank you for taking the time to reply Jan, I appreciate your help and those links.
I'm staggered to read on one of the links that Apple has discontinued making external modems (though a new monitor would be cheaper!)
Doubly astonished to read that Snow Leopard doesn't function with Apple External modems!
Those Apple designers need to get out of their caves, and have a look at the real world.
My modem dial-up connection is often faster than neighbouring ADSL lines, for reasons not too difficult to fathom.
So, it looks like buying a new iMac would be a retrograde step for me here in Asia, because I prefer Tiger, and couldn't connect my new iMac to the internet, or my Mac mini's modem.
