S40 Theme Studio

Hi,
I am trying to open my saved themes, created with S40 Theme studio (2.2 edition), with my 6280 phone. The phone "sees" the themes (when I highlight them with the cursor in the theme menu, I see the specific image and the font color changes), but when I click "apply" I get always the "file corrupted" notification.
I am using the latest pc suite to transport the .nth files to my phone, via bluetooth. I am working on a laptop with windows xp with SP2.
Does anyone have an idea why? I looked up the issue on forum.discussions, but, although other users have posted with the same problem, there wasn't any answer.
Thanks for any help.

I've been using Theme Studio v5 on my laptop, which has Windows 7 64-bit and I've been having an issue with getting themes to save correctly.
For example... the theme I am working on has to have pink meters (battery, signal etc). I have colored the icons, loaded them into Theme Builder and saved them to my PC. The next time I go to work on this theme, the preview in Theme Builder shows everything as I left it, with pink meters. But then when I test it on the simulator or my device, they're reset back to white. I load them into Theme Builder again, test and it works fine. Save the theme, close Theme Builder and the next time the theme is opened, they're back to white (on sim and on my device, but not the theme builder preview).
As far as I know or have seen, I only have this problem with the meters and with the "line color" on messages (the background for every other message). Only the meters will save, they just reset as soon as Theme Builder is closed and the "line color" won't save or display at all (does in preview, but not sim or device).
I'm also having similar issues with Composer saving correctly.
This is a major problem for me as I've already published several themes and am in the process of developing several premium themes also. So I can't have items being reset without my knowledge.
Does anyone know what is causing this problem and how I can resolve it?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

    Video requirements for CS5 are:
1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with qualified hardware-accelerated OpenGL graphics card, 16-bit color, and 256MB of VRAM
Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
The Quadro supports OpenGL 4.3 and has more than enough RAM. My guess is it would be compatible. I have a Mac Mini with Intel integrated graphics and 768Mb VRAM, and CS5 as well as CS6 (extended - BOTH) run just fine.

  • Nokia N91 Themes created by Theme studio 3.0 not w...

    Hi All,
I created few themes from Theme studio 3.0 for Nokia N91 series60 3rd edition. It was correctly installed. When i get into themes and preview it, it previews. And then when i click Apply, it sets the theme. Then when i click exit and go to the main screen, the theme changes to default theme. This happens for all the theme apart from the one which came with the phone.
What could be the reason for this.
    Thanks,
    Francis

  • Nokia Series 60 Theme Studio

    Hi @ll
i got a problem with the nokia series 60 theme studio.
it is very very very slow.
Ok,, my pc is not the fastest, but i tried it on a faster machine without any changes in speed performance.
can anybody tell me a trick or something to tweak the java the theme studio uses ?
    thanks for quick help

A perfect example of why the Java promise hasn't been realized (too slow for big apps + the missing true "write once, run everywhere" promise).
Not much you can do, except get more memory (check first that when you run the app, whether you're actually using up more virtual memory than what's the available physical memory) and/or a faster processor.

  • Series 60 Theme Studio 3.0

Are there any FAQ's relating to this program please? ANy places I should go to to find out a little bit more about it?
    Cheers-a-mondo!

S60 Theme Studio is primarily a (content) developer tool, so it is best discussed perhaps on Forum Nokia discussion boards (Forum Nokia is the official distribution site for the program, too): http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum
You can also see if the discussion forums on sites like these help:

ive been searching these forums for a bit trying to get the softare for nokia theme studio ive tried links in other posts but they all seem to be dead links can someone please tell me/post the correct link so i can download nokia theme studio?

The instructions to use S60 Theme Studio are in a document called "S60 Theme Studio Artist's Guide" (you get it as a PDF file when you download and install the program).
As the image editor you can use Adobe Photoshop, Jasc/Corel Paint Shop Pro, or any proper image/bitmap editor (SVG/SVG-T support would also be good).
As it is primarily intended by its developers as a content developer tool, and not an end-user/consumer tool, it isn't always very easy to use, I'm afraid, and at least the current version requires a powerful PC (mainly due to its heavy use of Java). Try the Forum Nokia (http://forum.nokia.com) discussion boards, if you want to discuss it. See also places like http://www.symbianthemes.com/Message Edited by petrib on 30-Aug-2006

  • BlackBerry Theme Studio 6.. frusterating!!

i downloaded BlackBerry Theme Studio to my computor, and it starts the Windows Wizard setup program, and does everything like it should, and then promts me a message asking if i would like to restart my computor. i restart it, and the first thing that pops up when it comes back is
"there was a problem starting (displays file name)
the specified module could not be found"
any help would be great! thanks!

I've been using it to create my own themes.  I can't remember if I had to specify a company name, title, etc. but if I did.... I just simply made something up.
I also vaguely remember something about configuring the program / pc as a host which I chose not to do.
The version I'm running right now is 5.0.  Thus far, I've only used it to change the home and lock displays on my Tour.  The program gives you the ability to customize your BB as you see fit, but there are instances where you want to change something and it's not as intuitive as some would like.
My experience has been that .png files render excellent images on the display as long as one takes the time necessary to reduce an original image into a high quality image with the proper screen resolution supported by the BB Tour.  To do so, I use Adobe Photoshop.
Regardless, any such issues can be resolved "if" one has the patience and desire to make the required changes, and take the time necessary to "fully" learn the program.
I've been in the computer industry since the time of "punched cards" until now at age 52.
I no longer have the disire to spend hours on end to learn each and every facet of a program such that I can make each and every icon on a Blackberry appear as I would like to see it.
Yes I'm one of those ppl that fired up a pc when most others were just laying down to go to sleep.
My "EX" once said... "You love you computer more than you love me."  My answer was....  "Yeah, you're right b/c my computer does what I tell it to do and doesn't talk back!"
Theme Studio is a good program, only if you're willing to put the time and effort into learning every aspect of the program that will allow you to customize your BB as you see fit.
Like the previous poster stated....  Give it a try.
Only you can decide what's right for you.

  • 6230i Themes

    Hi all,
Anyone know if it is possible to download themes for the 6230i?
For some reason I deleted them with the exception of Waves.nth, it has left the display on my phone blue including the backdrop when reading sms messages. I want to try change it with something that makes the message a little easier to read!
    Cheers

On the home page, hover your mouse over the "Original Files" on the main menu on the left. Click on "Themes". On the page that appears click on the "Download" link to whichever theme you want and download the file to your PC. It will probably be a Zip file so you will need to "Un-Zip" it. Then using Nokia PC Suite you can copy the files to the corresponding folders on your phone. You can create an actual "Theme" from the files using the S40 Theme Studio 1.2 but that's a little more complicated.

  • 6233 memory always full

i have a nokia 6233 when i try to change the theme of the phone i have message not enough memory i have deleted most files and nearly all my pics to have more space but still have same message why is this how can i solve this problem anyone out there in the know please please help

The reason is the Theme you're trying to apply is to large for your phone. Most .nth file larger than 1,5 MB cannot be applied on Nokia s40 3rd Edition, so you can either edit it with Nokia s40 Theme Studio, or remove any MP3 ringtones included with your theme (most of them have large size, thus making your theme larger than normal)

  • Nokia 3250: Application/Themes installation proble...

Hi...i recently purchase a Nokia 3250 but I'm facing a problem:any themes/application installed in memory card doesn't work and theme resets after switch-on the handset but if that application is installed in phone memory, it works after switch-on the handset.
I install all the software properly provided by nokia like snake game,themes....by using PC Suite.
I face the problems when i follow the following steps:
    Problem 1:
1-I install any software (e.g:snake game) through Application manager (Pc Suit) in memory card.
2-I launch that software (snake game) just after installation it works properly.
3-Now i switch-off the hand set and than switch-on it.
4-I try to launch that software (snake game) again but it doesn't response.
    Problem 2:
1:There is a image in my Memory card.
2: I set that image as a wallpaper.
3-Now i switch-off the hand set and than switch-on it.
    4-Wallpaper reset to default one.
    Problem 3:
1-I install a theme through Application manager (Pc Suit) in memory card.
2: I apply that theme in my hand set.
3-Now i switch-off the hand set and than switch-on it.
4- Now theme reset to default one.
i want to know is it my handset problem or OS problem....?
    plss help....

The 6102 is an S40 (Series 40) 2nd edition phone, and rather old, already as S40 is already at 5th edition (plus various intermediate "feature packs").
I think the 6102 supports themes, then they come in .nth files (not .sis or .sisx, which are for S60/Series 60 phone models) and only when they're created with Nokia Series 40 Theme Studio v1.*. Newer themes created with v2.* of the tool, requires newer phones.
    The tools are here:

If you are using Series 40 Theme Studio V2.2, it creates themes for S40 handsets using feature pack 2, and as far as can tell the 6101 uses an earlier feature pack, even after firmware upgrade.
Try downlading Series 40 Theme Studio V1.2, themes created with that version should be perfectly compatible.
    Hope this info helps.
