S430 reset ( factory and soft)
Hi all,
i got a s430 with win8 system. it is working fine. but recently it become slow response to internet. so i tried to refresh it. it took hours, and the result is _there is some erros, so no change made_. it is still slow. so i did a factory reset ( i remained the recovery partion on hardrive). it only come back a few apps and very slow, also quite often to run in erro state. so i use usb recovery disk to do a factory reset. it looks everything is fine. but often run into " kenl_data_inpage error". after two days it can't reboot, and i try to factory again with harddrive recovery partion and usb recovery drive, it always say, there is an erro, nothing change , then restart again, never go next action
can anyone drag me out?
thanks tons
No.
You have iOS 7.1, which is the current version. There is no way to go backward at all. A reset to factory settings will simply reinstall iOS 7.1.

As the title says, I can't reinstall Mountain Lion. When I turn on the iMac, it send me straight to OX X Utilities. When I click on Reinstall Mountain Lion, it asks for my ID, but then states I did not purchase Mountain Lion. How do I fix this issue? I've tried asking Apple Support, but to no avail. I don't think the guy I spoke with understood what was going on.
I cannot get around OS X Utilities. There are only four options for me.
Reinstall Mountain Lion
Back Up (tried, nothing comes up)
Get Help Online (which is what I'm doing here)
Erase or Restore Utilities (I've checked this, it says my disks are not malfunctioning)
My friend suggested signing into his ID to reinstall but when we did, it also said this ID has not purchased Mountain Lion. We logged into Apple Support went to registed devices and there was nothing there. I think he may have used another ID which is he searching for the info for. If we get the right ID, then maybe it will let us sign in on his name and reinstall Mountain Lion. But if he can't, or Apple won't take his ID, then I'm at a loss for options.
So now I'm here, hoping someone else who bought a used iMac from a friend who factory reset it and needs info on how to reinstall Mountain Lion can help me. I don't know what else to do. If I can't get this thing sorted out, I'll have to drive to the apple store. The closest one is 60 miles away, so I'm not looking forward to that. Is that my only option now? What can I do?
tl;dr I bought a used iMac from a friend who factory reset it, and now I don't know how to reinstall Mountain Lion. What are my options? If the system didn't ship with Mountain Lion originally and you didn't purchase Mountain Lion yourself, then you will need to purchase. A purchase by the system's original owner cannot be transferred to you.
Unless you have another system on which you have purchased Mountain Lion, you will need to first install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the iMac, for which you'll need either the original installation disks, if the iMac came with 10.6, or a retail copy of 10.6. Install 10.6 and upgrade to at least 10.6.6, and then you can buy Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store, presuming of course that the imac can support Mountain Lion. See:

All iPad 2 buttons are not working even after I resetting it. I tried both of the hard and soft reset, and even resetting my iPad via iTunes.
The volume buttons work after I tried this method : "hold iPad in landscape mode. Push the home button while rotating it to Portrait mode, release it."I have the same issue, nothing I did fixed the problem, I would suggest if you can visit apple store and give us your feedback with them.
for me I can't go to apple store because I don't have any store near me, I will have to wait for 2 months to travel! -
My 5th generation Ipod locks up when I try to play a video? I did the factory reset (ugh) and still, total lock up with video. Any suggestions?
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

I was wondering If I could use my iPhone as an iPod? I factory reset it and now it wants me to activate it.
Connect iPhone to iTunes on computer, it only takes a few seconds to activate the iPhone. Then to save battery you can put the iPhone into Airplane Mode and use as an iPod. If you decide to use iMessage and such you will most likely have to turn Airplane Mode OFF, while using iMessage.

On imac running10.6 I reset factory settings and start up only got logo andspinning wheel. I've tried safe mode w no luck. Tried recovery mode. Just tried shift command and v and the last three lines say dubious permission on file skipping. It stops there.
I also started in single user mode. Typed in the sbin fsck fy command. Said appears to be ok but also files were modified. When I type reboot it goes back to logo and spinning wheel

tried to upgrade my iPhone 3GS to a higher iOS but unfortunately it had reset factory setting... now i can't use my phone anymore... tried also to connect to iTunes as instructed but only appears: WE ARE SORRY, WE CANNOT CONTINUE YOUR ACTIVATION AT THIS TIME... WHAT SHOULD I DO? THANK YOU...
No, you do not need to nor should you jailbreak your iPhone.
If you jailbreak your iPhone, you void any remaining warranty and lose
all support from Apple including this forum.
4 possible causes to activation server unavailable message:
1] activation server is actually unavailable. Happens very rarely and
does not last long on those rare occasions. Solution is to try again.
2] your firewall/internet security software/antivirus are preventing connection
to the activation server. Solution is to temporarily turn off your firewall/internet
security software/antivirun until you have activated your iPhone.
3] your iPhone has been jailbroken or otherwise hacked/modified.
4] the computer you are using to activate the iPhone has been used to
jailbreak an iOS device.
For causes 3] & 4] you are on your own as Terms of Use for this forum prohibit

have given my ipod touch4 to my grandson, but although I have reset factory settings, I cannot delete all my details eg visa details. I have tried but it has upset my iphone and I lost my apple account on my iphone!! HELP.... please.
Create an account for him. and use that.
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

IPad blue screen and soft reset
Yesterday I bought an iPad Air to replace my iPad 3rd generation. I have updated the iOS to the most current and then restored the iPad Air with my iPad 3 file. Everything installed correctly but the iPad Air did flash a blue screen quickly and then would reset. This happened twice during backup/restore which made the process much longer than initially expected. Later in the night, after everything was installed, I was using the iPad Air and the screen flashed blue again and the system reset. I have never had any issues with any other iPads that I have owned and have never experienced this on my 3rd generation. Has anyone else experienced this issue before? Are there any solutions or does the hardware need to be taken to Apple? Thanks for the help.
Greetings tickster17,
It seems your iPad Air is resetting itself and has some video distortion. Based on the information you have provided, it appears your iPad needs to be serviced. The following link should help you get started with the process and has links with additional information on topics such as warranty and service pricing, battery replacement, and express replacement service.
