S6000 Touchscreen nonresponsive on wake up

New S6000 has all the latest updates.  Has Bluetooth keyboard.  Upon waking up, the touch screen does nothing.  I can navigate with the keyboard but the screen itself is nonresponsive.
Am about to return this item and get an Asus but figured I would give this forum a chance before I retunr it.  Any ideas?
Thanks

  • IdeaTab S6000-F touchscreen stops working?

    Hi everyone,
I have an issue with my tablet that someone might be able to help. The touchscreen on the tablet keeps not responding sometimes. Every few hours or so it will stop registering touches on the screen. It seems to mostly stop working when the screen is locked. When I press the power button to wake it up the screen comes on but the touchscreen doesn't work. Nothing makes it work again and I have to reboot the device by holding the power button.
I've tried doing a factory reset on the device, and then I've let it update the system software to the latest. Nothing seems to stop it from happening.
Can anyone suggest a way of stopping this from happening?
    Cheers,
    Richard.

    Hi horsemanuk,
thanks for posting and welcome to the communtiy. Sorry to hear about the issues you're facing with your table. Based from what you've explained here Looks like there could be an issue with the touch functions firware for the digitiser cutting out.
In this regards, you may want to contact our service team to take a look as issues pertaining to the touch may require our service team to update a specific firmware or possibly replace the digitizer panel.
Sorry I could not be of further assistance but the best option I have left would to contact our service team to assist you accordingly.
    Regards

  • Envy ts 15 touchscreen has one area that is almost completely nonresponsive

Picked up my Envy this past weekend and while playing a game discovered one relatively small area of the touchscreen is unresponsive except for an extremely forceful touch. Have tried cleaning the screen to see if something was keeping this area from recognizing, but it doesn't seem to have helped. Upgraded to windows 8.1 shortly after and found that this solved the issue but for some reason only temporarily. Any ideas?

  • Iphone 5 touchscreen unresponsive and sleep/wake button not working

Iphone 5 suddenly stopped working and I cant restart it. What do I do?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPhone shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • [semi-solved] dell xps 12 touchscreen not working (2013, 12-9Q33)

does anyone know how to get the touch screen working the dell xps 12?
ran windows on it for a few days and there did not appear to be any hardware issues with touchscreen (or anything else).
deleted all windows partitions and installed arch + kde with no issues, boots and runs great. but no response from the touch screen.
have tried to cat every /dev/input/event* but get nothing when tapping touch screen.
beleve it uses an atmel maxtouch digitizer... which i think should be picked up by udev... but dont think udev even sees the device, it just detetcs boring old mouse.
this looks like a simmilar issue with ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1218973 but on my system there is no indication that it is an i2c device.
tried atmel kernel but still no action https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kerne … mel-mxt-ts

Semi solved the problem by building a kernel with an ubuntu .config from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/ma … y/current/
I think i have multi touch working on the touchscreen, but this has resulted in breakage of the synapic touchpad which is now operating in a very simple mode (no scrolling or multitouch).
Probably best to follow https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1218973 and http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.kernel.input/32207 for a real solution

my touchscreen is not working on my ipod 3rd generation.. any tips from any one....

To rule out a software problem
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If still a problem you have a hardware problem.

  • Problems with Touchscreen on my iPhone 5s

I have been having a problem for some time now with the touch screen on my iPhone 5s..
It never used to often play up but have noticed it has started doing it more regularly.
now and again when navigating through my phone.. random things will open as I am for example trying to scroll down a page, it will randomly click different things as if there are 5 fingers clicking different things on a page at once, when in reality all I am trying to do is scroll down..
it seems I have a problem with the touch screen and that now and again it just goes into a freak out.. and its kind of frustrating.. as for a good period of time I actually cant use my phone and I have to put it down and wait for it to stop playing up because I physically cant use it.
has anyone else had this problem? and if so, is there anything I can do to fix it? my phone isn't damaged or anything from dropping it as I never drop it.. theres no chance it could be down to water problems and its never come to contact with water..
if I cant fix it, is there a way I can get my iPhone 5s replaced? thanks.

    Hey G.Russo,
Thanks for the question and detailed information. I understand that you are experiencing issues with the multi-touch display on your iPhone 5s. The following resource outlines troubleshooting steps for this symptom:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting touchscreen response
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1827
    Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slider to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service option or see the Service FAQ for your product.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Anyone ever have trouble with an unresponsive iphone 5s touchscreen?

Everything else is functional on the phone such as the home button, sleep/wake button, and volume buttons, the only problem is that the screen does not respond to the swipe of my fingers I have restored it and it still does not work.

If you have restored the device and the touchscreen is still not responsive, then you need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store to have the hardware checked.
And, my 5s is working just fine.

  • IPhone 5 touchscreen issue

My iPhone 5 will not unlock normally. I have to press the top button numerous times for the touch screen to respond. This means that I am unable to answer phone calls unless my phone is already unlocked. I have tried restarting/restoring but nothing helps. What should I do?

If you restored the device as new, without adding additional content, and the touchscreen is still not responding, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple store to have the hardware checked.
I just read this again. You say you have to press the sleep/wake button several times to get the screen to respond, but you can answer a call if the device is already unlocked? What happens if you tap the home button? Are you saying that tapping the sleep/wake button will not awaken the screen? If you tap the home button, does the screen awaken so you can slide to answer?

  • Iphone touchscreen issue

I got an iphone 5s Gold from Flipkart(India) a month back and the touchscreen has been acting funny since last week. It keeps clicking on buttons by itself. I am not able to unlock sometimes and messaging is almost impossible.
    Plz advise.

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...

    Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.

  • IPad mini Retina touchscreen dead spot

ok, my iPad mini retina's touchscreen occasionally becomes unresponsive in a small area near the top. hitting the sleep/wake and logging back in always fixes the issue. Anyone know what might be wrong? Maybe in need of a total reset and starting over?

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • My touchscreen doesn't work, what happened? how can I fix it?

Everything else works, the volume, the home button, the sleep/wake, etc. but the touchscreen doesn´t

    Try this.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Ipad touchscreen problem

I have problems with my ipad's touchscreen, it doesn't respond in one part of the screen!

    Try this:
Make sure IOS is updated to latest version
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
If that doesn't work then backup and then restore the device as new.

    Have you tried a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
