SA 520 Firewall rules not applying

I've set up 3 schuldes for
1) 04.00 - 08.00 PM
2) 10.00 - 11.59 PM
3) 12.00 - 10.00 AM
Locked the mac address on the client computer to an leased IP number.
Then I set up 3 rules to block from LAN to WAN for this local IP 192.168.75.70 at the Scheduled times. But it dosen't apply.
The firmware is 2.1.71
I can see the client get the right IP address.

I did try to reset it, but It did'nt do the trick. Still full connection, where it should be blocked.

  • Mail Rules not applying to Sent folder

    I have rules set up to color code my e-mails. They work fine in all my mailboxes (Inbox, Trash, personal folders), but do not work properly when applied to my 'Sent' folder (the messages all turn orange). What's the problem?
    I have Gmail being forwarded to the Apple Mail program using IMAP settings.

    there is no problem. Mail rules work on incoming mail only. if you want Mail rules to apply to sent messages you need a 3rd party plugin. MailActOn
    http://www.indev.ca/MailActOn.html
    can do it.

  • Udev rules not applied during bootup

    I don't know if this problem is associated with the lates kernel-upgrade to 2.6.21 but I didn't have it before.
    My problem:
    I have an external USB-harddrive that gets mounted everytime I boot because it is listed in my fstab. To avoid confusion with other external storages (such as USB-sticks etc.) I worte an udev rule for it:
    # Externe USB-Festplatte von TrekStor
    BUS=="usb", KERNEL=="sd?1" SYSFS{serial}=="307541703010",SYMLINK+="externe"
    As I've said this worked well before but now I get a message during the booting process saying that /dev/externe couldn't be found. But it actually IS recognised by udev. I just have to do a
    mount -a
    after the booting process and everything works again.
    Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? It seems to me that all the devices listed in fstab get mounted before the udev rules are applied.

    Ok, I solved my problem: I'm not mounting my USB-HD through fstab anymore. I'm using udev-rules as described here.
    Still I'd be interesting to know what went wrong.

  • Rewriter rules not applied

    Hi,
    I have a rewriter ruleset and two gateways. For one of the two gateways this ruleset is applied correctly, for the some rules of it are not applied.
    The rulesets are applied to the same uri and the gateways have the same configuration.
    We are using 3040 rulesets in total.
    This smells like a bug. Any suggestion someone?

    The problem I have is the following rules:
    <Function name="fetcher.open" paramPatterns=",y," />
    <Function name="xml*ttp.open" paramPatterns=",y,"/>
         <!--
         window.open could be either called using open or window.open(),
         make sure that this rule does not overlap with MS XML API's XMLHTTP.open().
    -->
    <Function name="open" paramPatterns="y"/>
    <Function name="*.open" paramPatterns="y"/>
    Now, when we have this applied to a file on the right url which contains fetcher.open(1,2,3), it should rewrite the second parameter, but it is rewriting the first one.
    Does anybody know about the order or specificness of the rules applied in the case above?
    Best regards,
    Tim

  • SA520W - IPv4 Firewall Rule not visible

    Hello,
    We have a cisco SA520W Security Appliance Model with several IPv4 firewall rules configured and we would like to remove one of the rules.
    The fact is as that this rule is not visible from the Security Appliance Configuration Utility, although it can be seen on the configuration backup file, it cannot be deleted…
    Any idea how to delete this rule avoiding to revert to factory default setting will be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Nicolas MASSOT

    Is it one of the built in default rules or is it a rule that was created then deleted from the GUI? Can you paste the section of the config file with the ACL?

  • SA 540 INBOUND FIREWALL RULES NOT WORKING

    Hi all,
    I am having trouble configuring the firewall for the SA 540.
    client 1 (160.222.46.154) ----- switch ------ sa 540 ------ cisco 887 W ------ client 2 (50.0.0.10).
    client 1 can ping client 2, however client 2 cannot ping client 1. The default outbound policy (allow all) is set on the sa 540, and I have tried configuring a blanket ipv4 rule on the sa 540 to allow 'all' to 'any' (for all services) related to traffic from the WAN to LAN, and visa versa. The output from the logs are as follows:
    Fri Jan 7 13:43:04 2000(GMT +1000) WARN FIREWALL 50.0.0.10 160.222.46.154 [firewall] LOG_PACKET[DROP] IN=WAN OUT=WAN SRC=50.0.0.10 DST=160.222.46.154 PROTO=ICMP TYPE=8 CODE=0

    Basically any connection identified as coming in from the WAN (i.e. IN=WAN) is dropped. I set up a new vlan on the cisco 887 W, in the 160.222.46.x address space, and connected a spare port directly to the sa 540 and had no problem testing connectivity to any device via ping. Obviously the zone communication is LAN to LAN and firewall treats the traffice differently.
    I assumed that creating an all encompassing rule to allow all trafiic, for all services, between the LAN and WAN (in both directions) would be equivalent to placing the appliance in PASS THROUGH mode? There is no securtiy set on the 887 W or the switch.
    Also is anybody could explain what 'SELF' means in the conttext IN=SELF or OUT=SELF it would be much appreciated. Firmware is latest.
    Thank you.
    Regards
    Marc

    On closer analysis and with some help from Experts Exchange it did seem non sensical to have both the IN and OUT as the WAN interface, but I had literally exhausted every avenue possible bar 1- changing the routing mode to CLASSIC and configuring a static route (which was at a higher administrative level than my RIP advertised routes) and took preferece when forwarding the packets.
    Now the SA540 firewall rules work as I would expect and I can route between all zones. To summise it appears as if the Double NAT from the router (887W) and then the SA540 was the issue, and the innability to configure any workaround in the interface of the SA54O firewall rules.
    It really makes you appreciate the power of the command line and the full scope of CIsco's command line options. Does anybody know if (and how) it would be possible to configure Double NAT on the SA540?

  • Mobile account managed preferences sync rules not applied

    Hello everyone!
    I am testing out mobile accounts and home sync on a few of the machines I have. My goal is too use mobile accounts as a way to backup small documents. I have many preference and Home sync rules applied to a group. All the machines I have added to this group seem to recognize these rules, but one machine does not. It is syncing folders and file types that I have excluded. I have checked the users managed preferences file and it appears to be correct, yet when I start a sync it does not appear to follow it's own managed preferences.
    One thing I should add is that these machines have been using plain old local accounts and I have been migrating them to mobile accounts using this method:
    http://www.macenterprise.org/articles/migratingalocalusertoanetworkuser
    This method seems to work great except for the fact that the users preferences like the dock don't appear to be carried over.

    Did you ever solve this? I have just started testing this in our office as well. It appears I have a machine that does not appear to obey the rules ether. I am also migrating local accounts to mobile accounts.

  • WSUS Firewall rules do not use names nor groupnames

    Hi everyone,
    Today I've been playing around with PowerShell Workflows and the firewall cmdlets on my test environment. (Great stuff, Thanks
    Scripting Guys)
    After working out a little workflow I noticed that the firewall rules that were made by the WSUS feature installation had no Name nor DisplayGroup, only the DisplayName.
    My test environment is made up from tree Server 2012 R2 servers with a domain.
    The script I made :
    workflow Get-AllFirewalls
    Parallel{
    InlineScript{
    Get-NetFirewallRule -Enabled True -Action Allow |?{
    $_.Profile -match "Any|Domain"
    } | select Name,DisplayName,direction,DisplayGroup,
    @{n='Port';e={($_|Get-NetFirewallPortFilter).LocalPort}},
    @{n='Protocol';e={($_|Get-NetFirewallPortFilter).Protocol}},
    @{n='Program';e={($_|Get-NetFirewallApplicationFilter).Program}}
    $output = Get-AllFirewalls -PSComputerName (Get-ADComputer -Filter 'OperatingSystem -like "Windows Server*"').name
    $output |Sort-Object DisplayGroup |Format-Table PSComputerName,Name,DisplayName,Direction,Port,Protocol,Program -GroupBy DisplayGroup -AutoSize
    Now this is just for testing and I could get around the fact there are no proper names but I think it's sloppy not to fill the naming attributes.
    Am I the only one with these results or is it just WSUS?

    There are only two rules created, one for HTTP on port 8530 one for HTTPS on port 8531, and the latter isn't even used in most WSUS installations.
    There is no Group Name, because this is not a GROUP of rules, it is two individual rules. One is always enabled; the second is optionally enabled WHEN the WSUS Server is configured to use SSL, and it's enabled by an administrative script provided in the
    WSUS toolset.
    Ergo, a server administrator never has to mess with these two rules at all, so, no, I think it's insignificant that these rules may be missing a couple of generally irrelevant attributes.

  • Server 2008 r2 setting up firewall rule that just doesn't work!

    I have allocated static ip addresses to a group of PCs, then gone to Server 2008 r2 and gone to Windows firewall with advanced security and written a new custom rule. Am blocking internet explorer, have browsed to where it is lodged on PCs, added the ip
    addresses for blocking, in fact followed a detailed set of instructions but it just doesn't work! I am at a loss as to why, can anyone help please, driving me mad now! Thanks.

    Are you applying ADV firewall rules through GPO. If not then you need to create block rules on the clients i think. but I would create a block rule in GPO and link to these PC's OU.

  • Afctl rule not added

    Hello
    After a recent clean install of Lion on a shiny new Mini, and applying all software updates, it would appear that afctl is not running.  Console shows MULTIPLE (filling up the log file) attempts of a remote host trying to ssh in as root.  It was my understanding that the firewall in Lion was supposed to block multiple failed attempts by an attacker?  Do I need to turn something on for this to happen?  Log excerpt below:
    1/17/12 9:18:34.410 AM sshd: error: PAM: authentication error for root from 14.53.10.152 via 10.0.0.2

    1/17/12 9:18:34.439 AM afctl: Firewall not running or managed by another entity, rule not added
    How do I turn on afctl, or ipfw, or pf, etc....

    I have the same thing filling up my logs and I have never turned on the firewall service.

  • Cisco Zone-based firewall issue/ not receiving return traffic

    Hi,
    I have created a Cisoc IOS Zone based firewall on my cisco 3945 router. I have an issue receiving any returning traffic. Here is a simplified version of my issue.
    I have two zone pairs: Internal to Outside and Outside to Internal.
    In the zone pair Out-to-Int I have a few rules allowing connections to specific servers on specific ports. The default class-map drops any non-matching packets.
    In the zone pair Int-to-Out I have a rule saying internal PCs can access any destination on the internet over “any” service. When I put the action as “Inspect” I cannot connect to the internet. It’s as if my return traffic is not detected by the firewall and instead gets dropped by the default class map in the Out-to-Int pair.
    To make it work I need to do two changes. I need to choose Allow instead of Inspect and I need to change the default class-map on the Out-to-Int pair to “allow” for unmatched traffic. But this is not good because I have a default allow on my out-to-int pair.
    Am I misunderstanding something? Shouldn’t the inspect action on the Int-to-Out zone allow for return traffic no matter what rules I applied on the Out-to-Int pair? Thank you in advance for your help.

    Please share your config. Then we can see what's wrong there.

  • Firewall rules for a IPSec Tunnel mode connection

    I'm using Windows 7 Embedded with a Tunnel mode IPSec Connection. Are firewall rules applied before the traffic is decrypted or after? In other words, will I be able to apply firewall rules to allow only certain application traffic within the tunnel? Any
    KB article would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

      When VPN traffic comes through the firewall it is still encrypted and encapsulated. The firewall will only see the data in the container, not the encrypted payload. So the short answer is no.

  • How to reload firewall rules from command line on firewall ?

    Hi all,
    I am trying to create script that controls firewall on server. OS version is OS X Server 10.5.6.
    Part of firewall rules is created using firewall admin tools, part of Server Admin Tools. My first question is where are those rules stored permanently ? As far as I understood it should be set of ipfw rules but they are not stored in /etc/ipfilter/ipfw.conf.
    Idea of script is this:
    I have set of rules that should be controlled by Server Admin Tools.
    Also, I have some dynamic rules.
    Whenever some change occurs, I created script that does following:
    /sbin/ipfw -f flush - to flush all existing rules
    /sbin/serveradmin stop ipfilter - to stop existing firewall
    /sbin/serveradmin start ipfilter - to restart firewall and reload permanent rules
    Add my set of rules...
    After flushing all rules and issuing stop and start ipfilter none of rules set through Server Admin Tools are not reloaded. So how should I reload them ? How to save them permanently in the first place ?
    Please note that I do not have access to server (for security reasons). I am developing script on my Mac, sending to client and he tests it. So I cannot do a lot of testing.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards,
    Dusan

  • MDT 2013: bootstrap.ini not applying username and password for share access

    Basics - Server 2008 R2 - SP1, WDS,  MDT 2013
    Well all, I've done this at least 20 times today and the deployment share info is still wrong...
    Someone else built and messed with this thing so i'm trying to fix it.  We have 2 MDT servers and 1 WDS that is on the Production MDT.  I've turned the test MDT off.
    It was working fine, until I updated the deployment share ... after adding some drivers for the surface pro 3 for the pxe boot
    Very Simple bootstrap.ini
    [Settings]
    Priority=Default
    [Default]
    DeployRoot=\\MMPDEPLOY02\DeploymentShare$
    UserID=xxx
    UserDomain=xxx
    UserPassword=xxx
    KeyboardLocale=en-US
    SkipBDDWelcome=YES
    It continues to show up on the client as ||mdt901w8|deploymentshare$  (test server) (pipes for \ since it makes it a link and i'm new)
    I've deleted all the .wim and associated files from all locations from the deployment share\boot folder and from the wds remote install\boot\x64\images folder where they are instead of the remote install\boot\images folder that everyone refers to.
    I really can't figure this one out... I know it's something simple I'm over looking but I can't see it..
    Any ideas..

  • Apple Mail Rules dont apply when mail is READ on other devices!

    Hi,
    I use IMAP settings on Apple Mail (v4.5) and also check my emails on the iPhone (iPhone also set up with IMAP). However if i have read an email on the iPhone then when i switch my computer on the incoming Apple Mail Rule that applies to that sender does not seem to work. It keeps the mail within my Inbox and does not transfer the mail/message to the desired folder.
    However, if the same sender sends me an email which i do not read on the iPhone and then switch my Apple Mail ON, then the mail is automatically transferred to the desired folder.
    It looks like the problem is only with READ mail and not UNREAD mail.
    Is there a fix for this? There seems to be a lot of people having the same issue and was wondering if there is any work around on this?
    Would really appreciate any help from anyone on this.
    Regards,
    Jay
    PS: I recently moved from Outlook 2011 on MAC to Apple Mail as i heard is a far superior mail application and works smoothly. So far everything about Apple Mail has been correct, it is a fantastic app, however this Rule problem is pretty basic and surprised that Apple still has not fixed this.

    Hi Glenn,
    Many thanks for this. Unfortunately i dont have this facility on the server as we are using a simple opensource mail delivery and storage service, so the rules would have to be set up on the computer.
    I was using Outlook 2011 and prior that was using Entourage 2008 and both worked well with the IMAP rules. Nothing was ommitted and everything READ or UNREAD was imported and the rules applied. It's only in Apple Mail that these rules dont seem to work.
    Is there no other work around? No Apple Mail Add-Ins? I see quite a number of people complaining about the same problem and i'm surprise that Apple has not found a solution for this.
    Anyway, thank you soo much for your reply. Much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jay
