SAD IPOD ALL THE TIME

I brought it to the store which couldnt do anything with it. I sent it in only to find it returned unfixed - apparently they couldnt get it to be a sad ipod. When I rec'd it I immediately tried to use it - SAD IPOD. Then I was on the phone for an hour with Apple and when I hit menu it went from Sad Ipod to the menu. I thought it was fixed. Maybe self healed. Then I hung up and tried to use it. Back to Sad Ipod. I cannot use it at all.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I know I'll have to send it back - any ideas as to how to get them to actually fix it this time? Is there a way to escalate problems with repairs?

Hello there,
Unfortunately it sounds like your iPod might have given up the ghost.
The ticking noise sounds a bit disturbing - and may be the result of a hardware issue - the iPod hard drive may have failed. The Pod should only make a noise when the drive spins up to load music, and/or when it is connected to the computer.
Have you tried running Windows ScanDisk on the iPod drive? Since you've already set it to Disk Mode, you can right click the drive in My Computer, Properties, Tools, Check drive for errors.
Windows ScanDisk can usually diagnose and identify hard and soft problems with the Pod disk, and will try to correct them.
Feel free to post back if you require any further assistance - let us know how you get on...
Kind regards,
Gopha.

  • I am unable to scroll on my ipod all the time

Just out of the blue I can not scroll through anything. And I can't get rid of the voice control or triple tap!!!

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

  • I have a new laptop and have transfered 'all purchases' yet the only things i have is whatever is on my ipod at the time, nothing from the other iTunes accounts. What do i do to get everything back?

so my old laptop was a HP pavilion Vista. And my new laptop is a samsung windows 7. I pluged my ipod in as usual, transfered all purchases, yet all that got moved into my library was just what was stored on my ipod at the time, I had authorised my new laptop yet i still dont know how to get everything grouped into my new laptops library... Anyone know how i can do this?

    How do you do what?
Copy everything that you included in your regular backup to your computer.
Copy contact back to the computer, copy calendars, copy documents, etc.
You can type "move itunes library" into the Google search bar for itunes instructions.

  • 3rd-Gen Ipod Touch Overheating All the Time!

I have a 3rd-Gen Ipod Touch, 32gb that I bought over a year ago. I've never had a problem with it before until about two weeks ago and it's concerning me quite a bit. Whenever I use it, within 5 minutes it becomes very hot, mostly on the bottom near where it charges. Within 10 minutes, the heat has spread throughout the whole device and has become so hot that I can no longer hold it. This happens all the time, not when it's charging. I'm worried that it will overheat to the point that I can no longer use it.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way that I can fix this? Do I have to have the battery replaced or something?
I appreciate any feedback, and thanks.

Sounds like a bad battery. Search ebay, there are people who provide the replacement service for as low as $19.

  • Brand new iPod keeps freezes all the time, Why?

The problem started early this year with my old iPod classic (couple years old) was beginning to freeze all the time so I just thought it was time to get a new one so I did but the same probably happened straight away and just just died after 2 weeks of constant resting so I got a brand new replacement and the same thing is happening to this one too, my question is why does this still happen and how to stop it?

You are still under warranty.  Call Apple Care, get a case number and keep it handy.

  • IPod Mini continually skips tracks all the time every half a second!

My iPod Mini continually skips tracks all the time every half a second. The only thing that stops it is if you press pause but once you press play off it goes again. This means noi music is able to be played because it's always skipping. The menu button works as does the backlight if you hold the menu button down. The enter button works and the touch pad navigation also works. Both skip buttons have no effect on the unstoppable skipping. Can anybody help or at least verify the problem with other users of simular problems and if they were able to fix them simply, without having to go to an Apple dealer (it's out of warrenty i think)Any help would be appreciated.

  • IPod touch is fully charged all the time

    Hi!
I have a Sony FM/AM Clock Radio (Model ICF-CS10iP) that plays iPod/iPhone, and when I connect the iPod to the radio in order to play it, the battery is recharged very fast, so that my iPod is always fully recharged. In other words, I don't have time to spend my time listening to it with the earphones, consuming the battery till it runs out, then I would have to recharge again. It simply is full all the time. Is there any problem in not having this cicle of consuming and recharging? Thanks!

Yes. For maximum battery life, Apple recommends fully discharging/charging the iPod at least once a month.
