Safar/Facebook photo problem on iMac with OS X 10.8

I have updated my Mid 2010 27" i7 iMac to Mountain Lion from Lion. The update appeared to go smoothly with no difficulties reported.
So far I have found only one 'issue'. I doubt it is entirely an OS or Safari problem as I also updated my wife's mid-2011 13" i7 MBA and my new MBA to Mountain Lion and they do not exhibit the problem. I've posted about this problem on the iMac group three days ago but haven't received a reply so I thought I'd give this group a try.
Setup: Execute Safari (6.0), access facebook account, access any photo to bring up the Facebook photo viewer.
Issue: While viewing the photo the Safari window will flash displaying very briefly what appears to be the screen from which the photo was accessed. This occurs anytime the cursor crosses the left or right edge of the photo and sometimes randomly if the cursor is moved within the image. If the mouse cursor is not moving the flash doesn't occur--the image is stable.
I did a google search and didn't find the problem listed in the search results so I'm wondering if anyone with a mid 2010 i7 iMac has updated to ML also has the problem.

The fact that you have the same problem on the same model as I shows that it is likely an issue Apple will have to address. I have filed a bug report on the problem. We'll see if Apple deems it a problem with high enough priority to address in the near future.

I use Lightroom to upload photos so I wouldn't have noticed that particular problem.
It wouldn't surprise me, though. After all, it is a .0 release and facebook has been messin' with their photo software quite a lot recently.

HT204135 Photoshop CS5 Printing Problem on iMac with Epson 3880 printer

All of a sudden I can't print from Photoshop CS5 on my iMac with OSX Mountain Lion installed. I am able to print from Illustrator, however. Have tried to update the Epson 3880 driver. After clicking on "Print", it doesn't register with the computer, and from then on, the "Print" option is greyed out.

Are you using moab icc profiles or are you using one of the epson profiles?
I always use the moab profiles which you can download from their Web site. This way you are matching the specific epson printer with the specific moab paper.
At that point you change the printer manages color to Lightroom manages color and select the specific profile. Very easy to do - they even have instructions on the Moab site for installing the profiles if you haven't done that.
Once installed you can also use them through the system print dialogs in PS but it is really much much easier to use in LR - Since coming on board with LR last summer, I have switched to doing ALL printing from LR. Since you mentioned that you are having the same problem with LR and PS, I'm betting you are using epson profiles and this will solve your problem.

Wi-fi and Facebook photos problem on iOS 6.0.1

I have a MacBook Air and and iPhone 3GS. Over wifi connection strange things happen when I use Facebook. I cannot see images on my timeline from firends and I cannot even see some of my photos. I've tried both secure and unsecure connection through Facebook account settings but nothing changes. Videos on the timeline won't play either. When I switch to 3G on my phone everything is fine. What could be the problem I cannot find out. Until a few weeks ago it was normal. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?

I thought I believed my iPhone 4 with iOS5.0 would not disconnect during sleep mode. However, I was wrong. What I did was to ping the IP addresses on my iPhone 4 (iOS5) and iPhone 5 (iOS 6 then, and iOS6.0.1 now) when they were in sleep mode. Very true that there were timed-out on both devices. Once I woke them up, ping went thru. I did a scan on my home network using my iPad while the other 2 phones were in sleep mode, I was not able to see them.
I thought my iPhone4 did not disconnect too. But again, I think the reconnecting to wifi on iOS 5 is SO MUCH quicker than on iOS6 so user would think there was never a disconnect.

We have iMac system with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 in our premises for photo editing purpose. For that we are using Adobe Photoshop CS5 software. We are using linux server with zentyl 3.0 OS for data storage & data access.
We are facing one problem while editng photoshop files on iMac. i.e. when we are trying to use option ''save as'' a PSD file on server then original file gets deleted & new file is created. When same process done on local drive then it works fine & not shown any problem. We are facing this issue from last few months before that it works fine.
For this issue initially we asked in apple company. They have given following steps
upgrade the os of iMac to 10.9 Mavericks
again downgrade the os of iMac to 10.8 Mountain Lion
updation of photoshop software
maintain only one partition on local drive for OS only
try to work in Photoshop CC trail version
but still issue continues so they told us, there is no problem at hardware level on iMac ask to adobe about it.
We request you to please guide us & solve this issue as soon as possible so we can continue using software on iMac system.

Safari facebook application problem

Hello! I have a small game project on Facebook, and its works fine in all browsers, except Safari. Browser just don't save the session. I've read that its the problem with Iframe on Safari, and found some solutions, but none of them worked for me, probably because I've read they are been "fixed" in the new versions of Safari.
Can someone please provide me with a valid, trusted way to resolve this problem in Java?

Safari/FireFox Preview Problem on iMac

Running the latest Snow Leopard and Dreamweaver CS4 on iMac. Developing a site in PHP after installing XAMPP. Go to preview a page in both Safari and Firefox and all that shows up is the text and question marks where images are suppose to be. The server has to be working if it is processing the page. I check the source code and everything seems to be there but the images aren't showing up and the CSS isn't working at all - just shows text. Have tried putting the files in both the "Sites" and "htdocs" folders and get the same results. I actually developed the pages on a PC and they worked fine there on FireFox and IE. Tried developing a page independent of the site in question and got the same results. Any clues to why the CSS and images aren't working, though the code shows it to be there?
I'm new to Mac, but the XAMPP install and everything seems to be pretty straight forward. Again, I feel pretty good that that XAMPP is working. Is it the browsers, Mac, or Dreamweaver?

I uploaded the files to my web hosting account to test the browsers. Both Safari and FireFox are showing the site correctly. But locally, the css is not working and images aren't showing up. All you see is the text and question marks where photos are suppose to be. When you view the source code everything looks fine. Any clue to what is going on? Is it Dreamweaver? Browsers? Mac? XAMPP?

Anyway to sync the Facebook profile photos of my Live contacts on people hub? If my friend has a "Michael Jordan" name on Facebook and in my people hub his name is "Mike Jordan" how can I get his photo to be updated from his Facebook account?

Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
If you have two contacts for the same person, you can easily link those two accounts into one by opening one of the contacts in People hub and tapping link on the bottom of the screen, after this you'll get suggestions and a possibility to choose a contact to link. After the linking, the contact will be consolidated into one, and the photo should be updated from the Facebook profile.

Facebook photo problem

My wife got a 9810 torch which started hanging and I upgraded her software to os 7.1. Now facebook mobile site does not show any photo/pictures and says it is a fb without photo version. I downgraded software again and it does the same. Uninstalled fb and reinstalled it and it stays the same. Can somebody please assist.

Problems restarting iMac with iPod plugged in after last software update

Hi everyone,
I have an almost 2 year old 24" iMac Intel, running OS X 10.4.11 and a 30gb iPod video.
I've been having problems with restarting after the last software update. When I went to restart my computer as required for the update, it shut down, started up (the start up sound came on) and then went to just a blue screen for about 10 minutes or more. I got worried and shut down by holding the power button. Then I turned it back on and the same thing happened. So I shut down with the power button again, unplugged my iPod and external HD, turned the computer back on, and everything started up as normal. So I figured it had to do with one of those. I found that when I've started up with the external HD plugged in everything is fine, but every time I restart with my iPod plugged in, the same thing happens!
This has never happened before, and I've never had problems with my iMac before this... Can anyone help?

Hi, try-> System Preferences->Start Up Disk->ensure OS is highlited.
Some Macs find it difficult to Start/ReBoot when an iPhone or iPod is connected, it's as though the computer is searching to boot from an external HD. I would Repair Permissions & do the SMC reset.
Leave the iPod/iPhone unplugged @ reboot...L

How do I best share all photos on one iMac with two user accounts?

I recently bought an iMac and Aperture. I am converting from a windows-based platform. My immediate pain point is the ability to share one library in Aperture under both my account and my wife's user account(like we do our iTunes, for example). We would both like access to all the photos, and I am searching for the simple way to both store them and manage them. Either of us may download the pics from our Canon 40D at any point, and our current photo count is nearing 40k & 175GB (and increasing rapidly).
I have read several support articles about where to place the library, most of those articles are dated around 2008. I have the library in the "shared" folder, not in a user folder. I have set the permissions so that each of our accounts have "read & write" access. My wife's user account is unable to access the library.
I currently have the original files in a directory structure sorted by years, then essentially events, and have not imported anything besides some test photos into Aperture.
Any advice on how to optimize our set-up so we can both view / sync to iPhones / manage / etc our collective photos would be greatly appreciated.

First off all I would recommend against shating between accounts since Aperture was not designed for this and your might encounter library corruption.
You might try this tip on Macworld.com. It requires you to use the Terminal though. Make sure you follow the commands exactly, without any typo's before you hit the enter key to execute a command. (And make a TimeMachine backup before you start.)
After you've complete this, start a new library in the place where you set the extended permissions on. Then everything should work.
A seccond tip is to setup the Aperture library on an external drive and set this volume(drive) to ignore ownership permissions.

If you want to revert to the previous secure version, do the following. 
Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.17] and download it to the desktop. 
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box). 
Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 
Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier. 
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

Photo stream on imac with iphoto'11

my iphoto folder "photo stream" is always empty. have macbook,so macbook is getting photos from icloud alright its all shows up in that photo stream folder,but imac does not shows any content in that folder. tried to disable and enable photo stream,tried to deselect automatic uploads,but no success. it shows that is updating and downloading photos,but is nothing appearing in there after that. can someone help me? thanks

on a left side where is trash,flagged,photostream,last 12 months... buttons so in that folder is always empty,but is ok in the events folders

Safari crashes when trying to use facebook photo upload

I have been using facebook photo upload from Iphoto with out any problems. Tonight I tried it and it shuts down safari happened a couple of times but it corrupted my whole photo library and now Iphoto shows the measage that it is totally corupted and unusable. Any one got any ideas to get it working and to recover photos

Please post your iPhoto question in the iPhoto forum. There are ways to recover, I think, but I am not an iPhoto "expert." Photos are precious and I think you will get the best guidance for possible recovery in the iPhoto forum. There are some real experts there.

Safari load image problem with iMac Intel core

I got my new iMac 20" Intel core and system updated everything. I found that Safari cannot load image in my web photo album ( http://fotop.net/nicknick ), all image became "?".
I can load this page correctly with FireFox and Opera Browser. I also try the iMac 17" PowerPC in my office with the latest version Safari, it also load the album correctly. And I know this web is created and store in a Linux server, the web page coding not written or optimized to IE.
I've try to reinstall the whole OS X, nothing else installed, the same problem occurred.
Is it the problem on Intel core? or any setting I can do to overcome it?
Hope the problem could be solve, I like to use Safari except this problem.

Well... no - except to ask if your intel imac is connected to the internet in exactly the same way as the ppc imac. If it is, then that's puzzling
You're right, I'm puzzled by the imac.
Intel imac is at my home, ppc imac is at my office;
both using same ISP but different service plan,
(home:) PPPoE, ADSL modem -> buffalo MIMO wireless router -> intel imac (both direct wire or wireless connect have same result)
(office:) fixed-ip, ADSL modem -> firewall -> Linksys wireless router -> ppc imac (wireless)
both network setting with manual assigned IP, gateway and same DNS
Same result occurred when (1)open box new machine, (2)after updated system, (3)reinstall whole OS with preserve the old setting, (4)reinstall whole OS with erase the whole harddisk option, (5)updated system after the reinstallation.
I firstly think may be some security setting in imac that blocked the images, but can't found out. I secondly think some html code at this web not work on Safari.
May someone with same machine help to open this web to see if all intel imac get the same result?

I Start a New am so frustrated with problems syncing photos on my iPad. I choose which files to sync but get deleted photos in my albums, my photos are in the wrong albums and the weirdest of all- I now have strange graphics and Facebook photos in albums!

I have spent several hours trying to find a solution to the following problems. After syncing my IPad with ITunes, I end up with photos that I previously deleted in my albums, duplicate photos, albums that have wrong pictures in them and weirdest of all, strange graphics and Facebook photos that are not even mine. Right now I hate this thing!
I have scanned the support forums, Googled it, deleted several photo caches, spent days editing my photo files, checked the specific folders I wanted to sync and it seems like it's not syncing, just adding the same photos and strange crap that it already had on it. Oh please help me!

OK....I'm stumped. The message you are seeing is typically there to protect someone from syncing with a different computer/iTunes account. Is there any way anyone else has used your iPad and possibly connected it to their computer?
