Safari 1.3.1 and OS X Panther (10.3.9) - PLEASE HELP!!

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I can't find a post that seems to match my problem.
I very stupidly managed to DOWNGRADE the version of Safari we were using having visited www.tripadvisor.com and it saying that there is a newer version of the browser available etc. etc.
We were using Safari 1.3.1 (I think!), it was definitely 1.3.something and we've got OS 10.3.9. According to the Apple download section this is all you need to install Safari 1.3.1 (or next version) but whenever I go through the dialogue box to install it I eventually get a message which says something like "cannot install this software on this volume. this system cannot use this software"
Can anyone shed any light on this or at least point me in the right direction for an answer. I'm getting SOOOOOO p*ssed off about it now.

1.3.2 (v312.6) is the latest Safari for os 10.3.9.It
is the one you ought to have are reapplying the combo
update. I am guessing you did not do a restart which
is why it was not evident. I really do hope it is the
latest.
If you click on Safari drop down menu up in the task
bar "About Safari" copy and paste that version #
please and post it, it would be most appreciated.
It still doesn't let me install the 1.3.1 version
but who cares!
1.3.1 is not the version you should have with
Panther 10.3.9 it would be a downgrade. Just want to
get it cleared up that you do have the correct
version. Also there is a Security update that should
have come up in your Software Updater, if you have
not already installed that.
The security of your browsing & downloading is
dependent upon have the latest version of Safari for
the os build, obsessive that I am, i care: ).
If the reapply of the os was successful & Safari's
version is correct would you please click on the
Solved button next to the post that helped to solve
it.

Hi Eme - thanks for clarifying. The version I have (according to the About Safari feature) is 1.3 (v312) so perhaps this is the latest version.
I have clicked on software update and there is no more recent update for me so I guess this is the latest version.
I thought I had clicked on the problem solved button but I'll try once again so you get the proper recognition for your help.

    You're both synchronizing Safari with iCloud while signed in with the same Apple ID. On one computer, sign out of iCloud in its preference pane and sign in with a different ID.

    Issues with sending and receiving MMS
    You will need these to send and receive MMS:
    - An iPhone 3G or later.
    - iOS 3.1 or later.
    - A cellular data connection. MMS isn't available if you are using only Wi-Fi.
    - A domestic MMS plan from your cellular provider. You may need an international messaging plan to send MMS to an international contact. Contact your carrier for more information.
    - A roaming MMS when using a cellular provider's network different from your billing cellular provider's network. Learn more about roaming and contact your carrier for more information.
    To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps first
    1. Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
    3. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
    4. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you are roaming on a cellular provider network different from your billing provider's network.
    5. Verify that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar at the top left of your iPhone.

    If you are still unable to send or receive MMS, follow these steps
    1. Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn on group messaging if you are sending a group message.
    3. Make sure that you are using the area code with the contact's phone number. When sending messages internationally, you also need the contact's international code.
    4. Verify a "Pay as you go" MMS plan has enough available balance. Contact your carrier if unsure of your MMS plan or available balance.
    5. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    6. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact from the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    7. Back up and restore your iPhone as new.
    8. If your carrier has recently ported your phone number, the porting process may not be complete. Contact your carrier to confirm that the porting process is complete.
    9. Contact your carrier to verify that you are provisioned to send SMS and are in an area with cellular coverage.
    10. Contact your carrier to verify that there are no blocks or filters placed on your wireless account preventing you from sending SMS.
    11. Your carrier may require APN settings to be modified to use MMS. Learn more about when you should adjust APN settings.

    Are you able to receive any mail at all? If not, make sure that all of your information for mail is accurate in settings again. if you still have nothing, go to your email through safari. (example: www.yahoo.com) If you do not see the emails here either, it is a problem with the password reset server not your mail app.

    The problem is that none of us are in the same room looking at the same computer you are looking at. Also "Please help" is not very descriptive and won't invite help.  "Filename.zip won't download" is better.
    We need to know what your operating system (Windows 7 or Mac 10.8) CPU/ram tells us if you meet system requirements.
    Next detail what you are doing, link us to what web page are you downloading from and what link are you clicking to download the file.
    Sometimes browsers can have pop-up or script blockers. You might try another browser. IE, Safari, or FireFox.
    Once we know exactly what file you want,we can give you an alternate download link.

    I sloved this issue by resting my phone from settings>general>reset>reset all settings...the problem will be fixed

    If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.

    If you have a graphic of iTunes and a cable displayed on your iDevice then it is in Recovery mode.

    Check for hardware issues
    Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
    Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020.
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    If you want to solve your problems, unjailbreak. And don't do it again, because jailbreaking causes problems as you read about in that article. You can try Recovery Mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

    I was not complete clear.
    Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section.  If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
    If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
    But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there
    In my iTune I have this, and I believe it is the default.
