Safari 2.0.3 required to load GAP web page

How can I update my Safari to 2.0.3 for my ibook which has OS X10.3.9. What is the alternative browser since MS also stop supporting Mac OS.

Hello nautilus66:
Welcome to Apple discussions.
Unfortunately, Safari 2.0.3 only runs on OS X 10.4 (not OS X 10.3). Alternative browsers would be Camino or Firefox - I do not use either so I do not know whether or not they will address your issue.

  • Safari iOs crashes whe try to load my web page

I have already done my online shop web page (www.vistetublythe.com) and now I have a very serious problem, the web page crashes on safari for iOs devices, i dont know what happend, I can load fine the web on any computer and any browser, I can also load it well with Opera on iOs, but cant do it with Safair iOs.
Anyone can check and say me wich could be the problem?
    Thanks

    Did you try Settings>Safari>DebugConsole?
That wouldn't help with crashing would it? Once Safari goes, it takes the debug console with it. You might be able to dig into the log files from Xcode.
I tried the site by spoofing an iPad user agent. I got the following errors:
[cycle] DOM not ready, queuing slideshow jquery.cycle.all.min.js:10
[cycle] terminating; too few slides: 1
It looks like you are using the PrestaShop e-commerce service. It is pretty indecipherable. You will probably have to ask them about the problem. Normally, I would say look at what you are doing in the body.onload(), window.load(), and $(document).ready() events, but that stuff seems out of your control. The software is trying to manipulate the DOM elements before they are fully loaded. That is probably what is causing Safari to crash. Fixing it will probably require help from PrestaShop customer support.

Why is safari loading certain web pages so slowly?

    Emptied the Safari cache lately?
Press Command + Option + E then quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, try this DNS.
Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS
    Click + and type:
    208.67.222.222
Click + again and do the same.
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

    Hello,
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Let us know after that what happens.

  • Safari Slow to Load Certain Web Pages

Has anyone found a fix for the web pages that get "stuck"

This has been an ongoing problem in Safari v2.0x with OS X v10.4. However, I would describe this as "Safari stalls when loading Web pages." It seems like it may happen on certain pages, but it has been my experience that this can happen on any Web page at any give time: In fact, it just happened when I tried to load the Safari Discussions forum page!
    - Safari attempts to load a Web page
    - Progress bar in address field stalls at mid-point or later
    - Web page never finishes loading but sometimes, if you're patient, it takes a minute or more to load, but eventually finishes
    - More often, cancelling the page load (Command/Period) and then immediately hitting Command/R (or selecting Reload Page from the View menu) usually loads the page immediately!
Once, I thought it might be favicons, but I had just reset that folder to Read Only. Also, I just used Font Book to Resolve Duplicate Fonts before seeing it happen again. This is pretty frustrating, and never seems to get better.

  • Safari wont load any web pages

I've been using both Safari (2.x) and Firefox in my MBP for a coupel of months w/o problems. Now all the sudden Safari will not load any web pages. FX still works ok. Has anyone had a simialr problem? It's almost like Safari doesnt recognize you are connected to the internet.

    Same thing to me!
I downloaded it 3 days ago, installed it and it never worked. The option to set up the proxy server was grayed out. My IE and firefox are working perfectly (of course I set up the proxy server on each browser), basically Safari doesn't open any web page. I'd like try this browser but I don't have idea how configure it, if anybody knows how to, I'll appreciate it.

  • Safari not loading some web pages

Got a problem with Safari where it won't load certain web pages. This happens when I try to click on the buy button on certain web sites (such as Amazon), but not on all web sites. Safari tries to load the page but stops before any content is downloaded. I've tried re-installing the software, re-setting Safari, emptying the cache, cookies are enabled, and proxies are unchecked. If I run Internet Explorer I can access the pages that Safari won't download. Anyone got any suggestions????

Do you have Little Snitch installed? If so, check the Little Snitch preference panel (under System Preferences) to make sure that there are not any Little Snitch rules denying Safari access to any ports. If only HTTPS sites are being effected, specifically check the rule for Port 443, as Safari needs Little Snitch to allow connections to that.
I am not sure, but I think the update changed these rules around, at least on my computer.

  • Safari won't load some web pages.

Ever since installing Mavericks, Safari won't load some web pages (including these Apple support pages). I'm able to load the pages using Chrome or Firefox. Does anyone know of any settings in Safari 7 or the Mavericks system preferences that would be causing this?

I had the same problem... I ran disk repair and repaired all permissions on the HD then reopened safari now it's working fine.

  • Problems loading certain web pages

Lately, in the past week or two, I have been noticing that Safari wont load certain web pages. It jsut stops and then I get a blank white page with no error message. I have noticed this mostly with Facebook, but also found the same problems with Evite.com when I click the login link. I have tried using Firefox and it seems to d better, especially with Facebook, but it did hang up on it one time. I cant get to the login page on Evite with either browser. I am using OpenDNS, but dont have these things blocked. I can access them fine from a PC laptop through the same connection via my wireless modem.

    HI,

Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utiities). Select Passwords on the left then delete the Evite under Names on the right. Launch Safari or Firefox, go to the Evite site and login. After typing in your password, click Always Allow
I opened Keychain, but there is nothing in there for Evite under passwords?
    Try Safari Maintenance
    Repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Tried this, but still having problems in both Safari and Firefox. Facebook seems to be random, more often not working than it is. Still no login page with Evite?

  • 2-3 minutes to load a web page

I got a macpro with retina display several months ago and it has disasterous web surfing capability. I timed myself and it took me 6 minutes to get through the apple website to post this! I just timed an attempt to resolve www.cnn.com and it took 160 seconds.  This brings back mind-numing memories of AOL and 28,800 baud rates.
I cannot imagine --anyone-- would put up with this kind of performance but I cannot get this fixed.  On my home Windows PC I can get to this page in under ten seconds. On my corporate work network with a PC;  I can get to it even faster.
The Macpro performance is terrible on my  corporate network and at home. The performance is terrible with both wired and wireless.  I have reset Safari. I have cleared the cache. I have diabled the cache. I have never added a single extension.  I have ensured there are no bad/duplicate DNS servers. After all of this I  loaded Chrome and it's performance is even worse than Safari!
I called my company helpdesk and said the performance was terrible and after several hours they just  gave up trying to fix it. I told them it must be a hardare failure and they need to replace the mac pro.  They said this is a common complaint with Macs!  I am ready to junk this thing and go back to a corporate Lenovo piece of junk running windows 7. At least it can resolve web pages in milliseconds instead of literally multiple minutes.
COnsidering how many dozens of hours I have spent on this maddening issue (surfing the web on my WIndows PC and trying to fix this mac):
Please don't tell me to fiddle with safari because chrome is worse
Please don't tell me to fiddle with wireless, because it is no better wired with wireless disabled
Please don't tell me to fiddle with routers because it is just as bad on corporate and home networks.
Please don't tell me to update to the latest OS version because I am running 10.8.3
So last call for anyone who has any suggestions on how to fix this...
    -Robert

    Thomas A Reed:
After two months of trying, your suggestion to boot into safe mode is a breakthrough!
While in Safe Mode I can actually load this web page in 5-6 seconds. I spent the last few minutes bouncing all over the web watching web pages draw within seconds.
This proves that the hardware is ok and there is some application which is killing my ability to load a web page. It effects Safari, Chrome and I even loaded Firefox and all of them are similarly crippled. Therefore, it is not something misconfigured in any browser, or some cache issue. Since I can download files at regular speed, it is unlikely a network driver issue.
I do not have anti-virus software running on the machine. I don't know of any network filtering applications so I am not sure what those might be, but at least I have something to debug now.
My thanks to you for your insight here! i sincerely appreciate your help.

  • Unable to load certain web pages unless cache is empty

I continue to have the problem that certain web sites (eg Dodgers.com) will not load completely unless I have just emptied the Safari cache. Similar problems with weatherunderground.com. These are content-rich pages, so they load in "outline" form, or with lots of little boxes with question marks. If I immediately go and empty the cache, then reload the page, it comes back perfectly. This doesn't happen with my laptop on the same home network, and I have all of the Safari preferences set the same. Most other web pages load just fine.
Previous posts of this same question were not helpful.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 - Won't load certain web pages - Happens in all browers - Won't do windows updates

This server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1) is used to host thin clients as well as RDP sessions.  One morning the office is fine, they come back from lunch and all of the sudden they can't load certain web pages, such as adobe.com
and pandora.com to name a couple.  This was roughly 3 days ago.
1.)  I have tried machines that are not connected to this server (not thin client or RDP), but are on the same network, they can load up any web page fine with no issues.
2.) On the server I have tried Opera, Chrome, IE and Firefox, all have the same exact problem.
3.) Tried different DNS servers just to be sure, even though it only effects the server and no one else.
Based on these facts I know that it is something wrong with the server, but not tied to a specific brower.  In all browsers when you load up a page in question it just sits there with a blank screen trying to load, it never generates any errors.
The Event Viewer is also clean, no errors.  So with no errors I have had trouble trying to find a starting place for this.  Things I have tried:
1.) ipconfig /flushdns to try and clear out any DNS issues
2.) Changing the DNS servers for the server to 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2
3.) Scanning for Viruses and Malware/Spyware
4.) Checking proxy settings on the server
5.) Updating and then removing Adobe Flash (thought it was tied to flash at first).  Problem persists even with no flash player installed.
6.) Completed a failed update of .net, no effect
7.) Loading up browsers in debug mode to try and find anything in the site code that I could relate between failed sites.  I found nothing I could identify
Of all issues to finally be stumped on this seems like an easy one, but I can't even begin to come up with an idea at this point.
I have tried to lay out all of the facts that I know as plainly as I can.  I am hoping that someone has seen this before as this issue is effecting a number of differnt users and keeping them from doing portions of their job.
Help is most appreciated, thank you!

I was able to figure out a solution.
    CAUSE:
It appears that the Internet isn’t fully up to date and ready to use EDns -- which is enabled on Windows Server 2008 R2 by default. The solution for this is to disable Edns. Note that this isn’t
a problem for most Windows Server 2008 R2 member servers.  It’s only a problem for DNS *servers* that do recursive lookups.  i.e. likely only your domain controller will be affected if that is where your DNS Server role exists.
    SOLUTION:
To disable EDns, you can do it from the command prompt, or by editing the registry.
Create a DWORD called EnableEDNSProbes and set to 0 in HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\DNS\Parameters
Restart the DNS Server service for it to take effect.
