Safari 2.x compatible with IBM Websphere 5.x - 6.x Widget/Portlets

I'm having compatibility issues with Safari 2.x. The initial 1.x version of Safari was compatible with the IBM version of Java Server Pages Generated by the Host Access Transformation System (HATS) renderings of legacy applications.
The new 2.X version of Safari hangs consistently, has anyone run into this problem before? Whom should I contact within Apple to resolve this problem?

HATS IDE for Rational development platform provides to standard .js files that handle default settings and browser determinations. The settings in these files are incorrect, and this will be reported to IBM for a fix.
This has been checked for safari 2.x browsers.

You need to contact "epost." The issue is not an Apple issue....the epost software needs, I assume, to be updated.

I'm new...Is the iBook compatible with IBM?

So I might be getting a new job and they asked me if my computer is IBM compatible. I am not sure. I think they need to know if it will be compatible with a hand-held device such as a palm pilot type thing. I'm new to the world of Apple so I have no idea and I don't even know where to look.

IBM compatible is another way of asking "windows compatible". Macs are very adaptable, usually not having a problem interfacing with various external devices including handhelds etc. Sometimes, a mfg. states that a device is "windows only compatible", when in truth they usually interface seamlessly with OS X.
Most palm pilot devices, especially recent ones, are OS X compatible. Have a look at their support page for specifics.
Also, I encourage you to become more familiar with your Apple iBook. You'll find the computer operating system is very intuitive. As for resources, besides these forums Apple's Knowledge Base, via their web site, is very helpful. Also, go to a national bookstore chain and have a look in the computer section at the OS X manuals. There are a number of very useful ones, well written and illustrated, to get you up to speed with OS X and Apple's iLife software package. I suggest selecting the one that best works with your level of understanding, i.e. makes sense to your brain.

Installing Demantra 7.2.0.2 with IBM Websphere as the application server

Can anybody share the documentation / insight into installing Demantra 7.2.0.2 using IBM Websphere 6.1 (OS-Windows) ?
Can we install the Demantra on the same machine on which Websphere is installed or we need another box.
Which steps we need to follow ? Any setting on the Websphere for this ?
Suppose Websphere is installed on http://webmac.xxx.com (machine name) - is this the web address we need to specify even if we are installing on the same machine.

If the other users are on the same network as the machine on which Tomcat is running, they can access demantra web applications directly. Only measure to be taken is that the url should contain either IP address or the network m/c name of the server machine alongwith the port no.
e.g.
http://10.32.142.123:8080/....
http://mymachine:8080/....
If the other users are on some different network and wanted to access Demantra web applications through Internet, then you will have to ask your networking team to open the port no (e.g. 8080) of the Tomcat server machine through the firewall of your environment. This will allow the users outside of your environment to access the application running on your specific machine through the specific port only.
And the users who want to access these applications might also have to put host entries as suggested by Shekhar depending on the internet access policies of their organization.

Firefox v4 not compatible with IBM iSeries HMC 7.7.0 SP2

Being a glutton for punishment I tried to upgrade my FF. It sucks. I opened a pmr with IBM. Here are the results:

What you have stumbled across is an issue that has recently appeared. Firefox 4 is not a supported (at this time) version of browser to work with the HMC remotely.
We have created a request to development to get this repaired. The same issues are also in IE8 which is also unsupported for now. In IE8 there is a compatibility mode that can be used to circumvent the problems.
Our hope is that Mozilla will also release such a circumvention for the short term fix.
For now, you will need to go back to V3 if possible, or you can use IE7, both of which are currently supported. I don't have a timeline for when this issue would be fixed in any HMC release as it is more an issue related to the browser.

Thanks for posting those comments. Firefox has a "quirks" mode for better compatibility with old sites, but it doesn't have a user-switchable rendering engine or, as far as I know, a Firefox 3.6 compatibility mode.
One workaround might be to use the IE Tab* add-on to open the HMC site in IE within a Firefox tab. (* There seem to be more than one of these now.)
But if "sucks" refers to a lot of other issues, maybe you'd prefer to use 3.6 for a while.
To roll back:
First, make a backup of your computer for safekeeping. To back up Firefox, see [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information].
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
Close Firefox 4, and uninstall it. Do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Then finally you can reinstall Firefox 3.6. Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, it should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

Problem connecting weblogic OSB with IBM websphere via foreign JMS

I am currently running IAS 6.5 SP2 on Solaris that is using the CICS Connector to communicate with CICS v1.3 on an IBM mainframe. We are upgrading from IBM OS/390 to IBM z/OS 1.4. Are there any compatibility issues?

The following has been used successfully by several people with various Mac OSs when other remedies have failed. Use the following if Safari fails to function correctly in only one account. This will delete all Safari items in the problem account. All Safari preferences will have to be reset:
1 - Log into the problem account
2 - Export Safari bookmarks
3 - Quit Safari
4 - Open Terminal - in Utilities

Is Safari 4.1 compatible with 10.4.11?

I've heard Safari 4.1 called a "system eater" in reference to compatibility with 10.4.11. Is this true? I have had more crashes and slowdowns with 4.1 than with any previous version. Is there a downgrade path?

Since Safari is crashing, post a crash log so we can find out what's causing the problem.
Open a Finder window. From the Menu Bar click Go / Go to Folder. Copy/paste this path into the Finder dialog: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter
Click Go. The Finder will open containing the crash log. Copy and paste the most recent log here.
We need the entire log.
