Safari 3.0.2 issue with MSN Messenger 6.0.2

Hi all, I wanted to post an issue Im having ever since I updated to Safari 3.0 and 3.0.2 now.
I am running MSN Messenger 6.0.2 and every time I hit the red X button to close a conversation box, Messenger crashes. Every single time.
I wrote to Microsoft's support about this issue and they suggested that it might be something wrong between their soft and Safari 3.0 since before the update, I had no problems at all.
I have tried downgrading to Safari 2.0 but I cannot install it since it asks for OS X 10.4.2 and Im running 10.4.9 !!!
I would need some help please. I do not know how to solve this issue and it keeps happening again and again.
Any thoughts??

Not currently. See Peter Tulipan1's recent Can iChat have video chat with Windows Messenger? thread for info about the development of video via the MSNM Server by using an application called Mercury Messenger on the Mac. Note that their Support Info says two-way video does not work at this time, though.

Using the built in Isight camera with MSn Messenger

I am trying to use the built in webcam on my MacBook Pro with MSN Messenger. I cannot locate the option to activate the camera. Any help is appreciated.

I have a new Macbook and want to video chat with MSN Messenger users.
Can I do that via aMSN?
I've also got XP running on my Macbook and have installed MSN Messenger running but I cant seem to get XP to recognize the built in camera. Is there a way to do this?

Lion / Safari 5.1 has issues with the pinch/zoom (embedded links don't zoom correctly)

Ever since upgrading to Lion Safari 5.1 has issues with the pinch/zoom. Any embedded link does not zoom in proportion to the surrounding page and it makes it unusable. (the embedded link zooms much more). Any ideas? This makes safari almost unusable for many webpages.
Is there a fix to this? Or can I consider uninstalling 5.1 and rolling Safari back to 5.05? Not sure if this is a Lion issue or a Safari issue. Everything worked great prior to Lion.
(I have to say, Lion has been more annoying than beneficial to this point!)

Issue with BB Messenger

Very strange... I'm a 9530 MAC user with v.76
I've used BBM for the last year, error free. Late afternoon today, my buddy texted me to let me know that he could no long send messages though the BB messenger service to m. He'd just get a strange unavailable message and could not push the message along. . . This apparently was since yesterday morning. Likewise, my buddy saw my status as unavailable during that time.
... All the while, this morning, i used the BB messenger service in the office to chat with a co-worker. No indication of any issue, it was (selon moi) 100%.
So after this text in the afternoon, i told my buddy to call Telus (our carrier) to sort it out...thinking it was his issue. Well, i tried using the BBM service right after, and after i send a message to any contact that shows "available", their status instantly turns "contact is busy". . . and the delay in the message being sent is between 30 mins and . . .never.
I call Telus. (Their blackbarry staff are amazing, btw.) We do the basics: battery pull, deleting/adding contacts, some security settings, firewall, re-registering to the network. . . you name it. The guy even had a company BB storm he could use to contact me on. . . oddly, him and i conversed on BBM without a hitch. No delays, no status changes...very odd.
It's still happening, and as i mentioned; I've never had one issue with this phone, or any other BB i've had. This is the first issue.
I've searched forums, posted on Crackberry...and am not really getting an answers that hasn't already been tried.
My intention was to seek SUPPORT from RIM. Bruno (my Telus guy, who is awesome) said they don't have a 1-800 to call, and support is filtered through the carriers CS.
Does RIM not have dynamic support? What if a die-hard, early adopting, RIM-loving client has a complex issue that the trained (very well trained!) carrier cannot rectify? What then? Let 50,000 people chime in on social networks and hope that one bit of the dubious crap that's spewed out is . . . useful?
I really hope i just missed the big button "Email Support!" somewhere on their site.
Any insight towards any possible solution, is appreciated.

i installed msn messenger on my iMac its works fine but i don't know haw to run the built in web cam ? no icons or any thing haw can i do it ?

Messenger doesn't have webcam available on Mac, try another program like aMSN, search for it on the downloads. It worked well with my camera but you can't close the window and have it running in the background.

Safari problem or website issue with MACs

I was trying to pay my mortgage online today and when I typed in the password the screen kept returning to the original start page. I never got error messages or anything. So, I tried it on my PC and everything went fine. I have Safari and just got my MAC last week so I'm still learning! Should I try Firefox or is this an issue with the website?

Hi and welcome to the Forum,
It's probably your Financial Institution, not supporting Safari. You could download the Software for Firefox. It only takes a short time to Install.

Logging in with MSN Messenger - please help!

I really hope somebody can help, I've been trying to get iChat to work with my MSN Messenger contacts for about 2 weeks now and have trawled through the advice on this forum but nothing has worked properly.
I've tried Ralph Jones (I think)' helpful advice, been through the top three links and registered with Jabber about 5 times but no success. If you are reading please help Ralph!
The first time I tried it, it did work and I spoke with somebody for a few minutes, however then it came up with an error that said 'Not available' when I tried to send a message. Since then all my contacts have showed as 'Waiting for Authorization' but this status never changes. I think I've tried everything - I've tried different servers on the third link, I've tried the UK one (I'm in the UK) but nothing seems to work.
Please help! This is the final step as every other application I've got working fully!

I used Psi to set up my Jabber name and transport on Jabber.org.uk
Then I added that Jabber screen name as an Jabber account in the iChat Preferences > Accounts
Like you I find that sometimes they seem to stay at Not Authorised.
Check with the Psi app that the Transport is active.
Also contact Gil Taylor in table 2

Problems with MSN Messenger - need quick help

I posted yesterday that I was having some trouble with my Ameritrade stock trading account, it was a java issue and they had me delete the cache in java and my Ameritrade worked again.
Now this morning I'm having problems with MS messenger which I use all day long for my job. When I try to sign in it keeps telling me it can't sign me in and I must not be connected to the internet. Which I am.
Its got some thing to do with my airport wireless thingy. Is there some way to "open" that up. When I unplug it and then replug it back in I can sign in to MS messenger for about a minute but then it somehow blocks it.
It keeps me on the internet but I get a message that I an not connected to .NET Messenger service. It is blocking me on my laptop PC now too. And it behaves the same way. After unplugging the airport I get a quick window where I can sign in but after that it blocks that .NET messenger service.
Is there some way I can open up the airport so I can get on the NET messenger service. Skype and iChat work but I can't use either for my job.
Does anyone have any suggestions (I'm begging here cuz i start work at 9:30 am and I need it working by then!).

Wow this is a mess, I want to add that again i'm sure its the airport extreme somehow. However on my PC laptop I can sign into messenger with an older version of it but when i try the new LIVE messenger it won't let me sign in.
The iMac version forces you to use the latest version so I can't use an older "non live" version to sign in with. I am praying someone can help me figure out what is wrong.

If your talking to PC's you might be better off trying Skype http://www.skype.com/download/skype/macosx/20beta.html and the PC needs Skype as well.

Issues With MSN For Mac

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but I can't see anywhere else. I recently downloaded the MSN 6.01 and since then I've been experiencing some problems. First of all, whenever I sign in I always have to type my password in twice before I can connect, it always says my first attempt is wrong even though I make sure I type it in right. Secondly everytime I click to change my display pic MSN freezes for a short time (about 30 seconds) before the window with my display pic options comes up. Is anyone experiencing the same problems or can someone help me with this?

I seem to remember some similar problem with the password when I upgraded to that version. You may have to go into Keychain Access and delete the entry, then put it in again.
You might also try Keychain First Aid.
I got so fed up, and with the slowness of the software, in comparison with the previous version, that I switched to Adium. It may not suit all, but it does work with MSN accounts.

A Yahoo Messenger Issue with msn contacts

HI just a quick question … in Yahoo Messenger I can video chat with my msn contacts the options are shown in grey and unusable. Is this normal and if not can I "fix" this?

In Safari I am having issues with spam tabs opening up.

When I am in Safari and I click any links, new tabs open up constantly with MacKeeper or Clean Mac, etc. How can I stop this from happening? I am already blocking pop-ups in my Safari Preferences.
Also, I have noticed that Safari won't save my homepage preference, and instead resets to one of these super annoying non-search search engines as my homepage.
Can anyone help?
