Safari 3.1.2 doesn't support all websites completely.

I just downloaded Safari 3.1.2. I had previously been using Safari 2.?. Both versions have problems with some websites. For instance, with 3.1.2 on photo.walgreens.com I can't delete photos previously uploaded. I don't have this problem with Firefox. I still use Safari as my default browser because it is faster.
Should this be reported as a bug? Thanks,

That's a good conclusion.
There are web standards. Web designers are getting a little better about conforming to them, but it's not an easy thing to do and satisfy client companies and customers all at once. And some web designers are just plain lazy about it.
There are standards that the developers of web browsers should adhere to, as well. Developers these days have been doing an increasingly better job of following the standards.
I suppose that the answer is that organizations such as MS or Mozilla want to achieve some competitive advantage by introducing some nice feature that is unique to their product.
The single most guilty party in all of this over the years has been Microsoft in its completely nonstandard development of Internet Explorer. IE has been the "industry standard" for many years simply due to the high numbers of people who use it, but it has been the least standard by far, both in terms of following any set of agreed-upon web rendering standards and in terms of being consistent from one version to the next. IE is notorious for introducting IE-only features that web designers would then design for, creating a seemingly endless loop of problems such as those you have been seeing.
Things are getting better in the web standards picture, but we're still not all the way there.

Flash file doesn't support all browsers

I have flash file which accepts data from Javascript using
swfObject.js and displays it dynamically(using addVariable). But
the problem occurring is it doesn't support all browsers. I have IE
6 and Mozilla Firefox 3 with Flash player version 10 installed in
it. I am not able to run the file on it. I can't understand why as
the code written in as3 and in javascript is right. Could you
suggest some solution?

Following are the reasons when you can't see a flash movie.
1. No flash player installed
2. Browser is not having Javascript enabled and noscript tag
is removed from HTML published from Flash.
3. Incorrect path for swf is inserted in the HTML page.
4. There is an error at the very begining of the flash file
which is stopping it to show properly.
5. Browser settings are disabling object/embed tags.
I am able to see your link in both IE7 and FF3 browsers. So
what I think is, in your case the reason is 5 or 2.

LoadSound doesn't support all device formats?

According to the flash lite 2.x documentation. loadSound can
load and play device sounds. This works fine with mp3 and smaf.
However when trying to loadSound an amr audio (both NB and WB) I
get a bad sound data error message (probelm with content: 7)

Yes, this is an issue and there are other device sound
formats that do not load in addition to AMR. I believe that Adobe
does not have a way to poll the device about supported audio
formats, so they have to rely on their own information which is
incomplete. Hopefully this will be fixed in some future release.
By the way, what phone are you testing that supports SMAF and
FL2.0?

After safari crash must log in again to all websites

Safari crashes frequently for me, and after every time I must reenter my username/password into websites like washingtonpost.com and GMail.
Is this the normal behavior? Safari won't remember password, or cookies don't remember them?
This is insane.

I have the same problem.... and its a real pain.
I can detect it now, because typing becomes slow.. the keyboard response time gets dreadful.
I might be surfing these forums and writing a post, then suddenly "CRASH!!" >>>> Home screen. ( I know its pretty but its also not very productive ).
When I press Safari again it brings me to the forum login page.
Its not only safari that crashes though. Its also Maps and Youtube. Maybe these are built on the Safari browser as well.
Other threads suggest "memory leaks" but I really don't know what that is so cannot comment much
Luckily I am only using this as a toy and not a business tool... but I read about similar problems in the iPhone section of this forum so don't know how "serious" users can cope with it.
Glad I have my Blackberry for critical stuff... but I am sure Apple programmers will fix this glitch in the next update... They have a lot to work on right now: Apple TV and OSX 10.5.2 and the iTouch crash.

Doesn't sync all music

iTunes 10.5.0.142
iPhone 4 - iOS 5.0.1 (9A405)
After sync, the phone shows all the music I've got in iTunes, but only some of them plays!
In iTunes I have 955 musics, in the iPhone the same 955 musics...

Have you got any songs unchecked in your library and the "Only sync checked items" option in switched on for the iPod? That would prevent songs syncing. Do you know which ones aren't syncing? If you do what format are they and what iPod are you using? The iPod Shuffle for instance doesn't support all the file formats that the larger iPods do:

N900 Media player & KMPlayer doesn't support AVI V...

Hi everybody, my N900 media player & KMPlayer wasn't able to play AVI video files recorded on my Samsung DC, unfortunately I don't know what is the codec of the AVI file as there are so many different one.
Where to download a video player that supports most AVI CODEC? Another question is my N900 doesn't support all MPEG4 files either, please advise me on these matters, regards.

Safari weirdness: "can't connect to server", jumbled websites, no images

For the past month or so, Safari has been acting strangely.
When clicking a link on a website, when the new tab opens, I'm often given a "safari cannot connect to server message." Sometimes reloading the page resolves the issue, other times it is impossible to get to the page. (This has happened on a variety of websites: WordPress, Amazon, Apple.) If I copy the URL and use Chrome or Firefox, the link opens. So, it doesn't seem to be associated with the website, but with the browser.
Also: I get weird website layouts, like this (notice the upper left corner, and the way the Amazon images are vertical rather than horizontal)--
This has also happened on other sites, but, again, opening the URL in a different browser works fine.
I have tried deleting cookies, cache, turned off extensions, made sure that Java/Flash are up-to-date. I'm at a loss....

I have Safari Version 5.1.7 the latest for Snow Leapord. I get the same error message on Firefox and Google Crome aI even dowmloaded another Brower for Mac still got he same error message ! I have used the Disk Utility to rparir files and rest Safari. I have deleated Firefox then downloaded a fresh version, still the same error messages ! Please help it's driving me nutts.

You do not need any "Cleaner" app for Macs. I would not be at all surprised if that didn't actually damage your Mac, especially if it were MacDefender. Applejack is OK, but I'm not sure what it erased. Do you know?
You also don't need any Virus Barrier. That could also mess things up.
The fact that all of your browsers are now messed up indicates that it is not a Safari problem, but more system-wide.

Safari show all tabs doesn't work all the time

It is annoying: safari show all tabs doesn't work all the time. The little icon to the right of the "New Tab" area sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. The Shift Command Back-slash, sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. I find no rhyme nor reason for this. I have a MacBook Pro, Mountain Lion, the latest updates. It doesn't matter if I am in Full Screen or not.
I am quite confused regarding this.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type of copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, empty the cache more often from your keyboard.

Hi,
You need to install additional plug-ins for Safari to work with RealPlayer or Windows Media video streams.
Flip4Mac (for Windows Media playback)
Real Player (free download link in the top right hand corner)
Note that Flip4Mac is not yet a Universal Binary so you will need to continue running Safari in Rosetta mode for that to work correctly.
If you're still having problems after installing those, please post the website in question so we can take a closer look.

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, triple-click the following line of text to select it:
~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy (command-C) the text to the Clipboard. Then select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the Finder menu bar and paste (command-V) into the box that opens. A Finder window may open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If so, delete the selected folder.
Select Go to Folder again and enter:
/Library
From the folder that opens, delete the following items, if they exist. You may be prompted for your login password.
Application Support/Conduit
InputManagers/CTLoader
LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
Close the folder. Now select Go to Folder one more time and enter:
/Applications/Toolbars
Delete that item. Close the Finder windows you opened. Log out and log back in.
