Safari 3.1.2 timing out my downloads
Im trying to download Adobe photoshop elements 6 free trial and Safari is timing out withing 30-60 seconds after starting the download. Hints, fixes?
Ok I just ordered the program I needed online. But the Download problem still exists. It times out for most downloads. Is there an adjustment that needs to be made in my user settings. I cant find one.

I have been trying to update my ipod to the 5.0.1 but after waiting for a hour for the download i get an error message that the server has timed out as my broadband speed is not good, could this be the problem and if so how can i get the update?
I have the same problem I disable msconfig mode all the programs escept windows and apple products but the same error appears at the last second of downloading the update

Help! Downloaded iTunes 7 and it timed out while downloading an album
I was downloading an album from the iTunes store and iTunes timed out (which it keeps doing ever since I downloaded 7.0). Now I only have half an album and it won't start the download process up again. Please help!

ITunes network connection timing out when downloading
*When I try to download the new software 3.0 for my IPhone 3G, ITunes 8.2.1.6 says the network connection timed out as soon as it is 99% complete.*
It happens every time.
In fact the last time it had downloaded 230.0 MB of 230.1 MB and then gave me the message.
*The STATUS field in the Itune download window says*
*"0 KB of 230.1 MB - stopped (err = -3259)" after the message is given.*
I tried completely uninstalling Itunes and Bonjor est. (all Apple software) and downloaded a new copy and installed it.
I tried turning off my fire wall completely.
None of my other internet accessing software is having any problems.
Please help!!!

1 Bt quiet line test dial 17070 option 2 you should hear no noise any thing heard should be reported to Bt faults on 151 but do not mention broadband when you call once any noise is removed broadband should improve
2 run a Bt speed test speedtester.bt.com andpost back here the results in full
3 obtain your full hub stats byentering 192.168.1.254 into to your browser address bar and navigating to connection and post the full details back here then someone will be able to offer more help about your connection

Just got new ipod, plugged in sync'd ok but when I had to update new version onto ipod, managed to get 3 hours in then with 12 minutes to go it says "network connection timed out" and nothing else - can anyone help? Thanks
Are you on dial up? No way should an ipod update take 3+ hours to download on broadband!

Network Connection Timed Out when downloading from...
I have only had BT broadband for a few months but am regretting it due to the huge number of dropouts I have - lose connection many times daily which is a big pain as I rely on this for my work.
One specific problem that has reared its head recently is if I try to download latest iphone upgrade from Itunes then after about 30 seconds it fails with "Network Connection Timed Out' and the connection breaks. This happens every time I try.
Also sometimes when I access sites I get TCP Network Error.
I know these problems are to do with the BTHub Router because if I switch to using my old Netgear Router which is still running on another line in the house (I need the backup as BT fails so often) then all works fine.
Can anybody help - or should I just throw it all away and try another provider?Hi can youplease do the following

Help!! Keep trying to download IOS5 (currently using 3). Has got to stage where downloads, says processing file and then says "system timed out try again". This has been going on for weeks now and system hasn't timed out, help???

Try doing what dynamite said by installing itunes 8. Maybe do a google about the error. Ring microsoft or last resort is a reformat. -
IPhone 4.0 update is "timing out" during download
I'm trying to perform a 4.0 software update on my 3G and it's getting about 75% through it and a message comes up saying "error- a time-out has occurred- check your network settings and try again." It has happened at least twice and I am getting frustrated. Can anyone help?
Sounds like you have a Windoze PC. If so, try temporarily disabling your antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware and any other anti-whatever that is required with that secure OS.

Downloads are possible, but require a "helper" app to store and use the download. If safari detects another app has registered for downloads, you will see an "open in app's name" to indicate that mobile safari will download that file but hand it off to this app to store in that app's sandbox. An example of a "helper" app would be something like iFiles:

Mobile Safari, itself, is not capable of downloading/saving anything to the file system. -
I've been attempting to download the OSX updates and the iphone updates, but i keep getting the following message "timed out (-1001). Then safari freezes, it doesn't let me do anything, if I quit out and go back in, it does not load any pages and says I am no longer connected to the internet.
The only way to get back on is to reset my airport extreme (using the airport utility and opening network preferences) several times, sometimes I have to reboot the machine several times as well.
Does anyone have the answer to this one please?Well, Safari doesn't really time out; but the server will time out, which is undoutedly the reason for your problem, based on the error. It's possible that Software Update is experiencing problems due to a heavy load, so it should clear in time; just try it later tonight.
And don't use AirPort to connect for Software Update; WiFi is not nearly as consistent and reliable as an Ethernet connection.

From Apple Support...
Here are troubleshooting steps that should help you fix the problem.
1) Quit App Store in multi-tasking.
2) Tap Settings.
3) Tap Safari.
4) Tap Clear History.
5) Tap the Clear History button.
6) Tap Clear Cookies and Data.
7) Tap the Clear Cookies and Data button.
Try purchasing an app again from the device to get the security question prompt. You really need to set up the security question.

I am using iPhone 3GS. It is currently updated to IOS4.3. I am trying to update the OS to IOS5 on iTunes. It downloads the software, but it gives an error - network timed out. I have tried this multiple times. But, the end result is same.
Please help & advise as how I can upgrade the iPhone to IOS5.Temporarily turn off or disable your firewall and anti-virus software and try the download again.
