Safari 3.2.1 defaults to borderless printing, how do I revert to border?

I can not figure out how to get Safari to stop using Letter-borderless as a default when I print or save to PDF. Even when I change the print dialogue to Letter-Border it remains and prints borderless.
I owned a PIXMA 830 but uninstalled it to install the software for Pixma 850 which is where I thought it might be coming from but to no avail. I have tried printer preferences in the System Preferences, no good at offering any way to alter. It just says Letter (without any options for borderless or or not)
Thank you in advance.

www.filehippo.com has older versions of iTunes. I'm not an expert on this, but I have previously uninstalled iTunes and reverted to an older version I downloaded from FileHippo. You'll have to do a search over there for the file you want. Good luck!

  • Safari 6 Address bar defaults to 'search'. How do I get default to URL?

I like the old default of adding '.com. to the location I type in the address bar. Now, it has defaulted to search and my options appear to be Bing, Google, or Yahoo. I've tried the Customize Toolbar option with no luck. How do I get Safari 6 to default to the web address rather than search mode?

@Camping Doc: I subscribe to this.
My first entry in any Apple forum if I recall it right, but hopefully some internal developers will see this.
From my point of view Safari 6 is indeed a big step backward. My troubles in short:
Entering urls causes a search engine request, seems that "Prevent search engine from providing suggestions" does not work properly.
Even starting the url with http:// or https:// or entering IP addresses causes search ?! (I don't want google to know any of my LAN addresses if mistyped, or servers I administer).
HTTPS (with the lock on the left) can disappear even if the certificate is trusted all the chain up. I would like to see directly if I login with SSL. Even my granny wants to see that.
Even if the setting  "Prevent search engines auto completion" == on I get an auto completion list, maybe a cached one ?! The dropdown list definitely says "Google search results ...".
Editing URIs causes me a lot of trouble, again because of the auto-completion.
I can understand that a some people (I personally know some) might be ok with all this because they might not care about SSL, and enter URLs in the Google page text field, but PLEASE make at least an opt-out setting or get the "Prevent search engine from providing suggestions" running properly. Safafi was always such a nice piece of software with good usability and good developer tools as well.

  • Mountain lion has murdered my response time.  iPhoto, Safari, iTunes are all S.L.O.W.  How can I revert back to Lion?

Since I installed Mountain Lion, all of my apps are running extremely slowly.  iPhoto is the worst, Safari is second worst, followed closely by iTunes.  Yesterday I waited a full 3 minutes for iPhoto to update one picture.  This morning almost a minute for Safari to come up.  Nothing wrong with my internet, my work PC is very fast.
I want to go back to before I installed Mountain Lion.  Is this possible???

all of my apps are running extremely slowly.
How much free space on the startup disk? Better to troubleshoot than try reverting to Lion.
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info then select Storage from the menu.
Make sure there's never less than 15% available space.
Not enough free space can slow the drive down.

  • How Do I BORDERLESS PRINT on Epson RX500 in 10.4.7?

    Hello,
    When I set up my Epson RX500 All-In-One printer/scanner I was using 10.3 Panther.
The Print Setup Utility looked just like it does in the setup guide that comes with the unit.
I never used Borderless Printing but in the "Printer List" it showed Stylus Photo RX500 and Stylus Photo RX500(Sheet Feeder - Borderless).
Now a year later (after upgrading to 10.4.7) I want to do some borderless printing with 4x6 and 5x7 photo paper but the "Stylus Photo RX500(Sheet Feeder - Borderless)" listing is not there anymore.
Also the Printer Setup Utility has changed. The screens aren't like they were in 10.3 (where I select EPSON USB from a pull-down menu, etc).
I went to the Epson Website to download new drivers but they only have
TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v2.65A for Macintosh OS X (v10.2.x - 10.3.x)
    OR
Printer Driver v3.0aAs for Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.4 or later). There isn't one for PowerPC 10.4.
I CAN print a supposed 4x6 borderless print using Page Setup and "4x6 Borderless" setting for Paper Size but it doesn't come out borderless -- it has borders. There is a 5x7 setting but it doesn't say borderless.
Any help with this problem? I really would like to see the "Sheet Feeder - Borderless" in my Printer List again and do some true bordeless printing!
    Thanks!!
    PowerMac FW800 (G4), iMac G4 800 SuperDrive   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Thank you so much that was a big help.
After you do that, though, you have to click on the Page Setup drop down menu and select Borderless Sheet Feeder instead of Standard from the list -- that's the part I wasn't doing. It defaults to "Standard", whatever that is, and doesn't make the Borderless Printing available if you don't change it.
After that, though, I couldn't get the border even when I wanted one (which I do sometimes) using the RX500 regular setting (NOT borderless) -- it's makes about a 1/10" border instead of a 1/2" one.
FWIW I found that if you then delete Borderless Sheet Feeder (that I tried so hard to get!) from the Printer List and re-start the computer you will then have true border printing again! Re-install Borderless driver to get true borderless again (ugh). I guess I'll have to do that because sometimes I want borderless and other times I don't.
    Thanks!!

  • Borderless Printing Help

I really need some borderless printing help. I finally figured out with my printer, that the bottom margin is ridiculously offset so I need to use borderless printing to prevent the bottom footer from being cut off (HP 2610 printer, margins being read are .07"-top, .13"-right&left, .56"-bottom).
I know there is a way to choose borderless from the page setup screen. And I tried looking in the system preferences to see if I could choose borderless as the default but there doesn't seem to be a way as far as I can see.
Does anybody know if there is a way to override the settings and make the borderless 8.5x11 the default paper size instead of the standard US letter?
BTW I am looking to do this on a system-wide basis since multiple programs have this problem, but if anyone knows of ways to do this specifically in Pages or Word that would be helpful too.

Got it to work in MS Word 2004. Any idea of how to get it to save in Pages 2? I choose to Save As Default, but it keeps reverting back when I open a new document.

  • Difficulty  Printing Borderless Prints with Epson C84

When I had an iMac G3 with OS 9.2 and used the Epson menu for printing, I had no difficulty printing 4x6 inch borderless prints (since that is one of the options on the Epson Menu). But now that I am forced to use the OS 10 printing menu, even when I identify the printer as an Epson C84, crop the photos to fit a 4x6 page and show "0" margins on all sides when selecting 4x6 as paper size, using either iPhoto or Photoshop Elements 3.0, the prints come out with a small white border on all four sides. The Apple Menu with Epson as the chosen printer does not give me an option that says "4 x 6 borderless" when choosing the paper size. Is there something I need to set differently in order to get borderless prints?
    hk Jones

I also had a problem finding the "Borderless" option in the print dialogue. Here's what Epson Support told me to do -- It worked perfectly. I can now print borderless from either of the two macs sharing my Epson 1280.

  • Borderless print with Canon MP610 impossible ?

    Hi all,
I've just bought the new Canon MP610, but can't find how to print without borders.
For instance, in Safari or any other application, when I choose print, then the "borderless printing" menu, the cursor is greyed. So impossible to print borderless.
Any idea please ? Thanks !

You need to download the software called "Easy Photo Print" from the Canon web site.
I just bought the Canon MP610 also and I found out about this software while I was doing my research for the printer. At the Canon web site just go to where you would go to download the drivers for the MP610 and thats where you will find the software for download!

  • Borderless printing in Tiger with Epson

This has been a nightmare all along. Can anybody tell me how to print borderless with an Epson Stylus Photo RX500 on 4 x 6 inch? In addition to this it seems impossible to print borderless on 5 x 7 inch?
I removed my virtual second borderless printer and now I don't see how to put a new one back.
I am using iPhoto 6 by the way.
In printer utility 'Epson' shows 'gimp print v 5.0 beta 2. What is that about? I've never seen it before. Does this new driver change the way to add a borderless printer?

  • Borderless Printing (Full Bleed) Aperture 2

I noticed a forum post about printing borderless and still having a border. There is a simple way to correct this problem. In the last post I read (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1398862&tstart=1799) the only thing that was missing was setting the borderless option to "max". To do this, click "print settings" then choose "borderless printing" from the drop down menu and make sure the setting is set to "max". The default setting is set to the third line from the left. Crank that thing all the way up to "max" and print away, your will achieve your borderless print you so desired.
I hope this helps. I own a Canon Pixma Pro 9000, the original post was regarding a Canon Pixma Pro 9500.

I seem to have solved my own question after considerable effort. Although HP denies it, there seems to be some conflict between the drivers for the B9180 and my L7580 on the Leopard HD. I manually uninstalled all references to HP per HP's instructions (available on their site) downloaded and installed the latest software and a small update patch. Although I lost the L7580 connection, this was a small loss to gain complete control of the B9180. Now the images are exact to the monitor in both LR and AP2. I use both Ilford's Smooth Glossy (with the Ilford ICC profile installed) and HP's Advanced Glossy paper. I use Ilford paper for my B&W output as a personal preference while HP's paper seems to produce better color results (at least to my liking). After nearly a month of testing and comparing LR and AP2, I have settled my mind on AP2 being just a little more flexible and certainly quicker than LR.

  • Issue on borderless printing using android HP ePrint app with HP LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw

    Hi,
I am trying to print a pdf document which is of A4 size (11.7 x 8.3 inches without any borders) from android tablet using HP ePrint app along with the printer HP Laserjet Pro 200 color M251nw. When it is printed on A4 sheet, it adds the border on all the sides around 12mm-left, 11mm-right, 8mm-top, 9.5mm-botton margins.
On the printer the firmware datecode shows 20121026, Also the ePrint app which I am using is latest and upto date.
Please let me know how to print the borderless print in A4 sheet.

    Hello revlib,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Turning off the Wireless Direct on the LaserJet Pro 200 color M251nw should have disabled the SSID from broadcasting. Since disabling from the front display did not resolve, let us try from the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
To access the EWS you need to enter the I.P address for the M251nw into the address bar of your web browser. The I.P address can be collected by touching Setup ()> Reports> Network Summary.
Once in the EWS, click Network> Wireless Direct Setup> select Off and Apply.
Let me know if this has help

  • Borderless printing with Adobe reader or acrobat and HP Officejet Pro 8100

    Hello,
When printing borderless with my Pro 8100 the printed pdf moves about 2mm to te left on the paper. (White vertical strip on the right side is the result and on the left side something is missing!).
What causes the problem seems to be that the HP Pro 8100 printsoftware makes the A4-format a littlebit larger (214,55 x 300,91) than an actual A4-format (210,00 x 297,00) when you choose borderless printing.
Therefore, I suppose that the pdf shoud be centered before printing. Adobe reader doesn't seem to have the possiblity to center the page however.
    Any tips?

The borderless printing option is intended to print photo's on photo paper.  When printing borderless the print is slightly oversized to eliminate (or reduce) to chance for white edges due to media skey.  Depending on your operating system you may have a setting in the Advanced tab of the driver for Overspray, set this to minimum and see if it helps.

  • Borderless Printing issues with HP Officejet 4500

I have created a document using Microsoft word 2007 and am having trouble printing this document without borders. I have a HP Officejet 4500 which does support borderless printing. I have gone into properties when getting ready to print and made sure to check the borderless box. I am still left with a small 1/8 inch border around the entire page. I tried the shortcuts and selected brochures with the same results. I also tried changing the settings through word. I went into page set up and made the margins "0.0" on both sides as well as the top and bottom of the page. It still prints with borders. What am I missing???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Having the same issue. I tried to print boderless from many different programms and with all settings I could choose. I get out a full photo or document after maybe 20 prints. Everytime the printer wants to print at least 2 pages, stops printing after 10-50% and restarts again.
I really would like to hear back from HP.

  • Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers

Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers
We have 4 Windows Server 2008 R2 print servers, all of which has the same printer queues installed on them that are utilized by a 3rd party printing program that does a round-robin load balancing scheme.
All printers are a combination of HP and Xerox all running some variation of the HP UPD and the Xerox UPD.  Some use the PCL 5 and some use the PCL 6 version determined by age of printer and need.
There are typically two printer queues for each physical printer.
    Example:
    LOCATION_ROOM
    LOCATION_ROOM_TRAY2
The regular queue is ok being left with default setting,
The _TRAY2 queues are set to print to "labels" or "pre-printed" paper type or a specific tray.
From time to time, these _TRAY2 queues will revert back to a factory default state and lose the setting to print to a specific paper type or tray.  Sometimes it happens to the _TRAY2 queue on all 4 servers, sometimes just 1 server, etc.  No rhyme
    or reason.
Disabled Bi-directional options on both the HP and Xerox UPDs per another article on the internet that said bi-directional could cause the printer to send back settings to the driver and cause this issue.  Even with this option off, we continue to see
printer _TRAY2 queue settings revert back to factory default and lose their specific paper and tray settings.  We have ruled out the possibility that users or other technicians are the ones making these changes so we suspect it is some interaction between
the servers, printer drivers and printers themselves causing the issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by using one of the print drivers included in Windows for a few of the printers and confirm it's the universal driver that is causing the issue.
HP installs some other processes and services on the machine which communicate with the HP devices.
PML and something else.  You might want to shut those down and see if these processes are the ones modifying the settings.
Run process monitor to truly identify which processes is causing the modifications.
