Safari 4.0.3 and Mouse Problems???

Since installing Safari4.0.3 over 4.0.2 a little while ago, none of my mice's right button double click (or triple click) functions work any more i.e. Can't open a folder using double click.
Right clicks or any other mouse settings do work but just not double click or triple click functions. I'm using USB Overdrive to configure mouse settings. I've never before had problems with USB Overdrive.
I know, it doesn't make sense but It seems more than just a coincidence.
I'd like to reinstall Safari 4.0.2 but can't locate a download or it. Can anyone point me to it? I'd have to uninstall 4.0.3 first, I guess, but how?

I just discovered that I can't launch any of my apps when clicking on their dock icons(using my mice) but I can do so using my MacBook Pro's trackpad button.
If I click twice on a folder or file using my mouse button or even my trackpad button it won't open. Never had this problem before.
All these issues only after installing Safari 4.0.3.

  • Bluetooth keyboard and mouse problems

    Dear friends,
    I think something is wrong with my bluetooth devices... They work perfecly well for a period of time (maybe 1 hour, maybe 2 minutes) and after this period they stop working well. They are not disconnected, they keep working, but they are super lagish, e.g. the mouse cannot be controlled, the keyboard have super latency or it keeps repeating a button i selected.
    When this occurs I turn off bluetooth from my status bar, and turn it again on right away. That solves the problem for again a period of time. This issue was first introduced to me after I installed Lion on my mac. After this and some other problems I experienced in Lion, I decided to switch back to snow leopard again. The thing is that the problem persisted...
    Any suggestions ???
    Thanks

    OK. New input...
    Updated again to Lion. As soon as I updated the problem began again. Once again I deleted the com.apple.bluetooth file and reset both pram and smc.
    For two days my bluetooth devices were working perfectly fine. None issues.
    Today, I was in a hurry and put my mac on sleep by closing the lid. As soon as I opened the lid again
    the problem unveiled again.
    What on earth is happening ?? It cannot be a keyboard or mouse problem, can it ??
    Little help, please... It seems managable, but performing a smc and pram reset every couple days doen't
    seem right...

  • Lightroom 5 Tethering and Mouse Problem

    Hi,
    I was using LR 5.3 on my MBP running OS X 10.9.2, shooting tethered with the USB cable supplied by Nikon. Laptop was plugged in to power supply. Used Nikon d7100 and went through the troubleshooting guide on shooting tethered with LR. After a few shots, the mouse cursor and keyboard would stop responding (I powered off camera too) and the only thing I could do was reboot the laptop. I had an external mouse plugged in after the first few crashes but then the problem would occur again. Has anyone else experienced this? I noticed these in the system.log around the time of the crash and only happened during tethering.

    Thanks for the reply. I did find the problem, it was user error. The thumbnail slider was set all the way to the right and hidden from view. Bringing it slider back into view and then using to reduce the thumbnail size solved the problem.

  • Dragging, high-lighting and mouse problems

    I am experiencing sudden problems with dragging icons and folders, scrolling within browsers and top menus (keep the mouse held down to navigate across menus and the selections disappear within a few seconds, simply click and move the mouse and they stay etc ..), high-lighting only required text is almost impossible because a single click on one word high-lights a whole paragraph. I've restarted using the instillation disc, run Disk Utility and chosen to repaired the hard drive. What came up was alarming:
    1. There were invalid leaf record counts - 58 instead of 649
    2. Volume bit map minor repairs made
    3. Invalid volume free block counts - 6997411 instead of 6996956
    4. Reserve fields in catalog record have incorrect data
    and after the repair ..
    1 HFS volume was repaired
    and 1 volume was not repaired.
    Clearly my hard drive's only partition isn't happy.
    After this only repair I still have the same problem with dragging and minor mouse desktop commands (I've also cleaned the laser mouse but wonder if this might still be the problem? It otherwise seems fine) but am left wondering about this unrepaired volume. What might it's damage be and how can it be corrected? I have a pretty old version Disk Warrior (3.0.1) but remember reading that it shouldn't be used with the recent Tiger versions so is there another Volume repair app which would suit me and maybe rectify this annoying occurance? The only thing I've updated recently is my RAM, from 1 to 3GB.
    Someone in another post suggested resetting PRAM but what would that achieve?
    Any help is greatly received.
    Rgds,
    Richard

    I had DW 3.0.1 on an original disk but looking through their site I realised this wouldn't boot nor repair the machine with 4.1.1 so it has a patch that you download to do just this, reboot and repair. Download the patch, enter your serial number for your disk and it blends them together and you burn a new CD which you can reboot from. I think the new version of DW is 4 so this free upgrade sees you through another step but this method does not work for Leopard.
    I rebooted and went into graph, saw the nodes were all over the place and I optimized from there.
    But what I think is the root of my problem was inserting Kingston RAM which for some reason my G5 doesn't like though they're the same spec as my previous.

  • Sound and Mouse Problem on Toshiba Satellite A505 S6005 - Related?

    Hello-
    I bought my A505 back at the end of April and have had these two annoying problems that I have been trying to solve for about three plus months now.  The first started right out of the box as it were and it involves the sound "burping" at me periodically.  It's a hard sound to describe.  It's kind of like a digital croak or a stutter all rolled into one.  It now likes to do this exactly at midnight every night, when the CPU usage will spike, but I can't find anything running at that time (I don't have any virus scans, defrags, etc. set for that time).  High CPU usage normally doesn't cause this anyway - I'll be running how many programs and the sound will be fine.
    My other problem is a recent one and that is that the mouse pointer will periodically just hang up for a few seconds every so often.  It's not a battery problem (I use a wireless Logitech) seeing as I keep it well fed and I tried using a wired mouse and got the same hang up.
    Are these two problems related?  I've tried to find information on this but haven't found anything useful to me.  I've tried turning down the fancy settings on my Windows, turning of my webcam and microphone, everything.
    I would greatly appreciate any help, thanks!

  • Safari 4 Public Beta and plugin problems

    At the risk of provoking the wagging of many fingers and the raising of many more eyebrows all wondering what was I thinking when I installed a public beta of anything on my editing system I feel (sheepishly) compelled to report that the installation of Safari 4 Public Beta disabled some - but not all - of my Noise Industries FX Factory Pro plugins. Naturally, in the middle of a project. And of course, this took me quite a long time to figure out. And you guessed it, I did multiple reinstallations of FX Factory 2.0.3 (I'm on OS 10.4.11), FCS2 and the OS itself.
    After some serious Googling I happened to discover that back in July 2008 some developers working with very early versions of Safari 4 reported plugin conflicts. And the moral of the story is....

    David, you're absolutely right. However, I can report that Safari 4 does have a lot of great features. Your turn to try out the next version.

  • G580 Very slow, and mouse problems, please help

    I purchased a brand new G580 approx 2 weeks ago.
    It has 4GB of memory compared to my old lenovo which had 2GB.  This new one runs at half the speed of my old one and has nothing on it (i.e pictures, music, vids etc)
    If i open a programme to do something and then open another, it cannot cope with it and will take forever to do anything on the 2nd programme when it eventually opens.
    also the mouse wanders! I dont have to be touching it or doing anything near it, it just wanders across the screen which is getting very annoying.
    Please could somebody help me?

    Hi kiri_tc,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
    I’m sorry to hear that your G580 Laptop is not performing as expected and the cursor is moving erratic, re-installing the Touchpad driver should resolve this issue and let me know the OS (Operating System) that is installed in the computer and the country where the computer was purchased, also the Type of G580 for providing the steps to resolve performance issue and exact touchpad driver link. Below is the link to locate the model number and Type of the computer which is mentioned on the sticker at the base of the Laptop.
    How to find the Serial Number (S/N) and Type of your computer

  • Desktop and mouse problems

    Whenever I move around the desktop with the trackpad, it starts opening up rectangular boxes and highlighting icons inside the box. Also, when I move around web pages, things get highlighted without my intending to highlight them. What is ?

    The problem continues in the new administrator account. When I first go to the desktop, I can move the cursor with the trackpad in a normal way but once I click on the desktop the cursor becomes very sticky and draws boxes, highlights icons, and drags icons. Also, I can't pull down the toolbar list of "old favorite" sites.

    Within the past week I have had a lot of trouble with my powerbook. About 6 months ago I put tiger on it. Now when I use my computer it seems like it freezes up. Only certain keys work and the mouse will no open anything except for the drop down menus. Any ideas.

  • Mac mini, bluetooth keyboard and mouse problems

    My elderly father is trying to use bluetooth (USB adaptor) with his mini, and Apple bluetooth keyboard and bluetooth mouse. He has the mini about 6 feet away in the entertainment center partly behind the cabinet door. He keeps getting a message that his keyboard can't be found. I've had him wiggle the key board, check the batteries etc. to no avail. He bought this Mini 5 months ago to be able to get DSL, and so far he hasn't been able to get hooked up because his keyboard never works enough.
    I live 400 miles away, so can't go over easily to help out. He doesn't want a keyboard with a cable, because he wants to sit in front of the TV, which he is using as a monitor.
    Any suggestions? The mouse works more reliably, by the way.
    I don't know what brand USB adaptor he is using, he got it from Fry's, but the Apple store says they recommend only certain brands.
    thanks,
    Lory

    problem solved. Replaced key board, mousse and changed brands of USB bluetooth adaptor, which is now a D-Link brand I bought from an Apple store. Works like a champ.

  • Rectangle and Mouse problems

    I'm trying to use a mouse to draw a rectangle that stays after I've drawn it. For some reason after I click, which initializes oldx and oldy, drag it, and release it, which initializes x and y, I have to click an extra time to draw the rectangle, then when I move the mouse the rectangle disappears. How do I get the program to draw the rectangle permanently and how do I get the rectangle to stay on the screen?
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.applet.*;
    public class Squares extends Applet implements MouseListener
      private int oldx,oldy,x,y;
      public void init()
        addMouseListener(this);
        public void paint(Graphics g)
          g.setColor(Color.red);
          g.fillRect(oldx,oldy,x-oldx,y-oldy);
        public void mousePressed(MouseEvent e)
          oldx=e.getX();
          oldy=e.getY();
        public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e)
          x=e.getX();
          y=e.getY();
          repaint();
        public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e){}
        public void mouseEntered(MouseEvent e){}
        public void mouseExited(MouseEvent e){}
    }

    I'm trying to use a mouse to draw a rectangle that
    stays after I've drawn it. For some reason after I
    click, which initializes oldx and oldy, drag it, and
    release it, which initializes x and y, I have to click
    an extra time to draw the rectangle, then when I move
    the mouse the rectangle disappears. How do I get the
    program to draw the rectangle permanently and how do I
    get the rectangle to stay on the screen?I'm not sure I got your question right. But I can draw the rectangle ok and move the mouse afterwards without the rectangle disappearing. The drawn rectangle only disappears if I click my mouse, which goes back into the init oldx and oldy stage.
    In order to draw the rectangle permanently suggest you use a boolean varialbe to indicate its state. This boolean variable can be set after
    g.fillRect(oldx,oldy,x-oldx,y-oldy); in your paint method

  • Internet connect and mouse problems

    My computer keeps asking me if I want to stay connected to the internet every 10 minutes. Its really irritating and if I happen to have stepped away for a minute it will log me out if I'm not there to press yes. Is there a way to make it stay connected without asking?
    Also my mouse keeps jumping around the screen when I'm trying to work. Is there a way to fix that?
    Thanks!

    taliafr,
    First of all, Welcome to the  Discussion Forums!
    Also my mouse keeps jumping around the screen when I'm trying to work. Is there a way to fix that?
    It might help to know what mouse you are using? Apple wired/wireless mouse etc. or third party?
    A couple of things to try are to make sure your mouse pad is of a solid color instead of a patterned mouse pad (you can test by using a solid color sheet of paper). Secondly, go to System Preferences and make sure under KeyBoard & Mouse>Mouse tab settings that the tracking is not set all the way to fast. Also, if a wired mouse, try plugging the mouse into a different usb port if you haven't tried that already.
    hope that helps some,

  • Lost keypresses and mouse clicks:  Hardware problem?

    I recently bought an Intel MBP, and I've been noticing strange behaviors with regard to keypresses and mouse (touchpad) clicks getting lost sometimes. The problems I'm having are hard to reproduce intentionally, but I can hear the keypresses and mouse button clicks when I do them, yet nothing happens. While it's possible, that I sometimes am hitting the wrong key, I have been paying closer attention lately to this problem, and of course, the mouse button kinda hard to hit incorrectly. Here are some examples of weird things I encounter:
    If I click in a text field in Safari, sometimes the first keypress (and only the first) will get lost.
    Sometimes, the first keypress I type right after clicking gets lost. For instance, just now, I noticed a typo in the above sentence, so I clicked on the character and hit the Delete key. The cursor was in the right place, but the delete didn't happen. I had to press the key again.
    Sometimes, even when the window for sure has focus and the pointer is squarely pointing to a link, the first click on the link won't take. I have to click it again. Since Safari doesn't have adequate feedback for when you click something, that can get particularly frustrating. Similar things happen with buttons in applications or on the title bar.
    If I'm using an X11 app, and I copy/paste with the clipboard, the touchpad won't respond to movement for 2 or 3 seconds afterward. This is particularly visible with "nedit". I don't think this is an "ignore accidental touchpad input" issue, because this only happens with clipboard actions; other keys don't have this effect. I haven't noticed this with native apps.
    However, I have noticed in X11 and native apps, sometimes, Ctrl/Cmd-C and Ctrl/Cmd-V will be ignored. They're never ignored if I selected the text using the keyboard (shift+arrows), but if I select the text with the mouse and then use the shortcut to copy, the copy/paste sometimes doesn't happen.
    I have noticed that if I am more deliberate about clicks (make sure to hold the button down longer), the probability of losing the event SEEMS to be reduced, but not eliminated. Is there a debounce circuit involved that's causing me trouble?
    This kind of loss of input is unusual to me. I have a number of Windows and Linux PCs, and I've never experienced this sort of thing. I've also used a few Macs at school before I got this one and didn't notice anything weird.
    Can anyone shed some light on this for me? It would seem odd that I should have to modify my keyboard/mouse using behavior when switching to the Mac. If the problem is hardware, how can I prove it? (Perhaps I could boot Knoppix from a CD and mess around a bit.) If the problem is software, is this a case of MacOS trying to second-guess user input?
    Thanks!

    Theosib,
    Apple regularly monitors these boards, but you may never see a response from Apple directly. Assume this is a user to user forum. If you are having a problem with the computer and need a response from Apple call 1-800-APLCARE and speak to customer relations at that office if the technician is not able to satisfy your needs.
    Your problem while not unheard of, is more uncommon than the boards may make you believe.
    Remember, Spotlight is constantly indexing. If your hard drive is overfull, it may take longer for Spotlight to index, thus cause a multitasking delay. If you have many Dashboard widgets, they may all be trying to access the net for updates at once, and again, a delay might happen. I've written a FAQ* about several other factors which may affect Mac OS X speed, which could in theory also affect keyboard input:
    http://www.macmaps.com/Macosxspeed.html
    And of course, you should always check Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse to make sure your input settings are the ones most comfortable for you when using the keyboard. It is possible a repeat rate could cause a delay.
    Edit: I attempted to answer another of your questions here recently with an update:
    http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=-1&messageID=3988468
    Please take a look and see if it answers your question.

  • 870A Fuzion Power has problem with keyboard and mouse movement only in games.

    Hey guys,
    recently built a new system and chose to go with the 870A Fuzion Power mainboard, everything has gone very smoothly execpt for one problem, only when I play games like Crysis 2 ect the mouse seems to jolt around now and again and the keyboard decides to stop responding if I hold down the movement keys, and this is only in game not surfing the web for example. Now, I am using a wireless mouse and keyboard but I plugged in a PS/2 keyboard and the exact same thing happened. I've installed all of the drivers that came with this board and the drivers for the mouse and keyboard. Any of you guys ever had this sort of problem or know how to fix this?
    Thanks.

    I bought a new Macbook pro in june 2010, I didn't have any keyboard or mouse issues prior to upgrading to 10.6.4 supposedly this update was made to fix some issues with keyboard and mouse becoming unresponsive. For me the opposite happened. after the upgrade, my keyboard and mouse (trackpad) becomes sometimes partially unresponsive or totally unresponsive. the only way to solve the problem is by completely turning of the computer and turning back on.. granted it doesn't happen very often.. generally once every about 2-3 weeks but it is still annoying though..
    I didn't have a chance to use the computer too much on the previous version (10.6.3) so I don't know if it is software related or hardware related.. any thoughts?

  • Problem with  "Keybord and Mouse" on Preference Pane

    I can't open "Keybord and Mouse" on Preference Pane.
    When I click on it, it doesn't open, just keeps loading until I click any other option except "Keybord and Mouse". Otherwise it opens an empty preference pane window, displaying nothing but the gray background.
    I can't access any keybord or mouse configuration. How do I fix it?

    Hi, did anyone fix this problem yet?
    My problem is that i copied the 10.5.2 HD from my old Macbook to my new MBP (with the new multitouch trackpad) to save time and to avoid a new install. Everything works except the mouse and keyboad preference pane. It seems that the demos for the swipe etc are non existent, and therefore the UI does not seem to work. This seems to make sense, as the Macbook did not have the options for multitouch. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there any way I can reinstall the missing components to avoid a fresh install?
    Thanks alot for help. You can save my time
