Safari 4.0.4 Flash Player problem
Hey,
For some time now I am having problems with Flash - namely while videos on YouTube and some other websites work just fine, whenever I want to load specific videos or websites (like www.southparkstudios.com), my Flash Player plug-in crashes.
I have tried removing and reinstalling the latest Flash Player (even rebooting in the process and using Disk Utility) but no luck. Tried to downgrade to FP 9, it didn't help. I even reinstalled the latest Combo update but the problem is still there. The same thing happens if I use Firefox or Google Chrome.
I even renamed the hard drive (found that it helped some ppl here on the forum) but no change for me
This is the crash report, maybe some of you who are experts here may get a clue. I switched to Mac 3 years ago and so far never had a single issue with it.

You definitely have the latest version of Flash.
Also, if you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Could be a 3rd party plugins causing the problem. Go to ~/Library/Internet Plugins. Move any 3rd party plugins to the Trash and restart your Mac. They may not be compatible with Flash. If you are using CoolIris, that could be a culprit. Go to /Library/Input Managers. If Cooliris is there, delete it and see if it makes a difference.
Repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

i'm getting more and more frustrated with this computer.
what's bugging me the most right now is
i am unable to view videos on certain websites.
rather than showing the content,
a white box appears.
when i right click on the white box,
it says "movie not loaded" (in gray) and adobe flash player 9 (in black).
i can't click on the gray line.
when i click on the black line, it brings me to the adobe website and tells me adobe flash player 9 has been successfully installed.
i am fairly sure this has nothing to do with heavy traffic.
any insights on how to resolve this issue?

Hello, I have a Mac. OS 10.5.8 (64-bit), Safari 5.0.6, Flash Player version 10.3.183.90. I keep getting error messages saying that I need update my Flash Player, But I can't. What can I do???
Flash Player 10.3.183.90 (Mac only) is the latest Flash Player that will work with OS 10.5.8. The reason is that Leopard (10.5) was the LAST "Universal Binary" OS build Apple released (it runs on PPC and Intel Macs). Because of that, the Flash Player plugin is also a "Universal Binary" but since even Apple doesn't support U/B software as of September 2009, Adobe stopped development of the U/B Flash Player in November of 2010.
That's the bad news.
The good news (if your Mac is Intel and NOT PPC) is that you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6) through Apple for $19.99
That will allow you to install and upgrade a LOT of software that won't run on PPC Macs, including Flash Player 11.8 -
When did these flash player problems begin?
So, I had a computer running Win98 and IE6, which worked
great until Flash Player 8 autodownloaded about 4 months ago,
causing the beginning of an extreme headache. Several
communications with Adobe support (they eventually stopped
responding) over several weeks went nowhere None of the fixes
suggested by them, nor the ones here worked. Countless manhours led
me to think it was time to bite the bullet, buy a new computer. So,
as of two months ago I have a new computer running XP and IE6 with
SP2. I didn't know it until today, when I started having crashes,
but I have Flash Player 7.0.19.0. When i go to Adobe's Test page,
both Shockwave and Player windows show the animations (and no
crash).
On certain pages, which I believe have flash content, I get
the "IE has experienced a problem and must close" message. It
specifically mentions the flash.ocx file as the offender. It is
repeatable when visiting certain pages.
So, before I jump into the abyss of attempting to fix this, I
am wondering when these types of problems began. I have been using
Windows and IE since 1998 with no trouble until this year. I hoped
moving to a new computer would solve my Flash compatibility
problems. Could the root problem be new types of spyware, etc that
change something in the registry? Some of the fixes suggested by
Adobe were regarding keys changed in the registry. Unfortunately
those fixes didn't work (in Win98).
Finally, does anyone know if attempting to fix flash player
under XP is any easier than 98? Also, I will admit I may have
visited some sites recently that downloaded some adware, etc. Any
suggestions on cleaning that may solve the flash player problem? I
know this post is all over the map - I don't know where to begin...

Which browser is giving you the error? Is it IE11?
Are you saying when you go to Adobe's website and download flash player it gives you an error?

Safari 4.0.3 + Flash Player Hang SBBOD Problem.
Hi, I feel like this is a bit redundant, but I've been skimming through the forums trying to figure out the answer to my problem.
My Safari was updated to 4.0.3 recently (earlier today, I believe), and now when I try to visit any site with flash-based content (youtube, certain news sites, etc.), Safari starts to hang and I have to do a "force quit". I followed instructions and was able to figure out that the Flash player plug-in caused the hanging/crashing problem.
As far as I know, I have the latest updated plug-ins. Also, I don't have any other plug-ins installed besides the default ones (my MBP is fairly new, I got it around 2 weeks ago. This is very annoying, considering that Safari was working just fine 8 hours ago (since I was still able to view flash-based websites without the hang problem).
Right now I've disabled plug-ins to avoid the hang, but it's really a nuisance and I can't figure out why the problem is happening. My best guess is that it has to do with my updating Safari from 4.0.2 to 4.0.3, but I'm no tech guru.
I'd really appreciate the help! I'm posting my latest crash report in the post below!edit: I decided to reboot my machine just in case and now Safari is working just fine. If it hangs again I'll edit this post...

Adobe Flash Player Problem with Safari
Hello,
I've just installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player on Safari. I can watch videos on all websites except for one, namely NovaTv Play. Whatever I do, I cannot open any of the videos. Therefore, I have to use a different browser like Google Chrome. I'd like to continue using one web browser but cannot resolve this problem myself. I've checked the FAQ of the aforementioned website and it is stated that if the videos cannot be loaded, the proper installation of Adobe Flash Player should be checked. This is something I did, and as stated, there are no problems with other websites. Can somebody help me with this issue?
I am using OS X 10.9.5 (13F34) and the latest version of Safari.

Mariyanso, if anyone else is having the same problem....My flash is working properly now. You have to delete every trace of the old adobe flash player and then reinstall the latest version!

And all the flash adding don't work!! I've tried to install all the falsh plyers and all the staff from the macromedia website, but it is still not working. Thought it was working perfectly before.

HT1222 Safari 7.1 Update causing Flash Player Problems.
I installed the latest Safari 7.1 update and now my flash player videos are messed-up. I either see "HTML 5" or "FLASH" in gray boxes. This is especially a problem for me on YouTube because I can't multitask while watching a video. If I switch to another tab, the video stops playing. Also, the video player isn't YouTube's, with the usual options like "Play Later" or choosing the mid-sized screen.
I performed a complete, proper, clean install of Flash Player but this didn't resolve the issue. Is anyone else having this issue? Any ideas how to fix it?

Flash player problem in windows 8.1
I am setting up a new Laptop as a gift and am having issues with Flash player in Internet Explorer 11, Windows 8.1. I cannot use Facebooks bulk picture uploader. I receive a notice that Flash Player is not installed. When I go to the Find Flash Player Version page the movie plays and the dynamic information box shows I have version 11.9.900.152 installed in Windows 8.1 64 bit but is shows none in browser installed field. My IE version is 11.0.9600.16438 with update version 11.0.1. I have tried every fix I could find on Windows forum; reseting IE, disabling and enabling flash add on, disabling and enabling Enhanced Protection, disabling and enabling activex filtering. What else can I try?
This is a known problem with Internet Exploder 11 and Facebook, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in. -
Can't re-install Safari! Help with flash player also

I found that my Adobe flash player (version 10) is causing my computer to hang. I know this because when I disable it, it dosnt hang.
I have tried to unistall and then installing version 9 Flash. With version 9 I am still having the same problems.
I have tried to uninstall Safari (put in trash) and try to re-install (safari 4 tiger - I have a MAC OS 10.5.2) it but I am getting a message saying "You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.4.11." NOw I don't know how to re-install for my mac!?
How can i fix this issue? I need to go to these website for work purposes and its very annoying that this problem wont allow me to go to these sites (www.myspace.com, www.beatport.com)

10.5.2 is Leopard, but you need to update to 10.5.7 to run Safari 4.
You seem to have downloaded the Tiger version of Safari 4, instead of the correct Leopard version.

Don't do that - Safari is integrated with the operating system and other applications rely on some of its components.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
It is suggested that you first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe. -
Safari crashes on adobe flash player sites
Hello! My family plays on the very popular Webkinz website, but for the past week and a half, Safari keeps randomly crashing while accessing the site. Not sure if it is a site issue or a browser issue. I do have the current updates for Leopard, and I checked to make sure that my software is up to date and that I have the current version of adobe flash player. Any help would be appreciated! Note that Adobe requires you to uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first.
Some users have mentioned that the latest Flash Player versions (v.9.0.115.0 and 9.0.124.0) in some cases conflict with Leopard 10.5.4, and that they have needed to revert to v. 9.0.47. This can be downloaded from here:

Safari 4 and Adobe flash player & reader download
Safari 4 fails to download Adobe flash player & reader files. The automatic download process does not save to the download location and then attempts to open file in the safari browser. No dmg file is saved
The same task in Opera & Firefox is fine.
Everything else with Safari is fine too. Is this some corrupt plist?

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.

If you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.
