Safari 4 and Adobe Flash Pluggin Problem

Rather than just disabling the Safari Pluggin's in the Preferences>Security, how do you remove one pluggin at a time?
With Pluggin's disabled Adobe Flash is also disabled... HELP?

Hi
First, uninstall Flash and its component parts.
Next, install the latest version from here.
After the install, go to your Applications>Utilities folder and open Disk Utility. When opened, highlight your HD, then in the First-Aid panel "repair permissions".
When done, restart Safari.

  • Safari and adobe flash incompatible - mental health at risk

Drives me mad but Safari stopped running adobe flash player months ago and I can no longer use the internet properly - can anyone help and speak english?
    Safari Version 5.0.4 (5533.20.27)
    Mac OSX 10.5.8

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Note that the latest Flash Player update only works on YouTube with Safari in 32 bit mode - until YouTube correct this.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. The first one on the list, Flash Player 10.1 is the one you download. More information here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Safari and adobe flash

unable to install new flash update from adobe to my new laptop after installing safari
when i try to install it says i have to shut safari down but then when i shut safari i cant install adobe flash?
not a computer expert so i need some handholding here

If you already have Flash installed, you first need to uninstall it by downloading and running the Flash uninstaller from the Adobe site, then download the new version of Flash Player and install that, then restart Safari.

  • Mac and Adobe Flash Player problem.

For some unknown reason my Macbook has started to uninstall or lose the Adobe Flash Player all by itself !
I can be using the Flash Player and then sometimes close down or just exit the programme and when I come back to use it later it is not there ! It just doesn't work. I have to reinstall again and then all is OK for a while....until it happens again. It has only started doing this recently.
Nothing has changed, laptop is OK with everything else, apple updates all uptodate, permissions in utility regularly reset etc.
    Any ideas ??
    Thanks
    Brian

    It's still doing this un-install thing !!!
    No ideas anyone ??

  • Is there a known issue with Safari and Adobe Flash?

I get the following alert on most webpages with Flash:
The page “Macromedia - Flash Player” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:
    https://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer
I follow the link and download the Adobe Flash Player 9 for Intel-based Macs, but it does not resolve the issue. Am I missing something?

Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2
and then the latest version obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash and installed.
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
Some users have mentioned that the latest Flash Player (v.9.0.115.0) conflicts with Leopard, and that they have needed to revert to v. 9.0.47. This can be downloaded from here:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14266&sliceId=1

  • Safari and adobe flash player version 9

I just got Safari 2 days ago, and I like it. I would love to keep using it. The only thing is bothering me is that when I go to certain pages like Facebook or garmin.com or stuff like that is not displaying the flash stuff correctly so it directs me to the page so I can download it. I've tried this like three or four times and it seems there is not a Flash version for Safari working on Windows XP. What can I do to get this fixed???

THIS QUESTION IS NOT ANSWERED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Luka77 is right.
I am a Flash developer and Safari can display Flash BUT IT DOES NOT DISPLAY THE LATEST FLASH 9.
It has been this way for about 9 months.
At first, I told myself that I would not develop Flash 9 until Safari includes it - now I'm saving all my bookmarks and PERMANENTLY MIGRATING TO FIREFOX.
    Flash 9 content appears on:
    MySpace video channels
    New York Times multimedia presentations
    CNN News
    MSN News
And a lot more that I cannot remember off the top of my head.
    GOODBYE, SAFARI !!

  • Videos won't play on websites in Safari since update to Safari and Adobe Flash update 11.3

I'm am so frustrated by this. Videos just don't play on so many news sites including CNN.com, NYT,com, 9news.com and more since updating Safari to 5.1.7 and newest Adoble Flash download. No matter what I tried... trashing Flash and then rebooting, reinstalling Flash, installing Falsh debugger, researching all over the web, I just can't these videos to play. Have been sending bug reports to Apple for over a month and still no fix for this. What's up with this!?!?!?!

Where can I send feedback about no response to this issue?

  • I can not attach any files to email or Facebook. When I go to "browse" the window comes up and disappears immediately. I updated browser and Adobe Flash. Restarted computer and zapped pram. any ideas? Please help!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only Guest login created by Find My Mac.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The Guest login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Adobe Flash Player Problem: "Movie Not Loaded"

    new user to mac.
i'm getting more and more frustrated with this computer.
what's bugging me the most right now is
i am unable to view videos on certain websites.
    rather than showing the content,
    a white box appears.
when i right click on the white box,
it says "movie not loaded" (in gray) and adobe flash player 9 (in black).
i can't click on the gray line.
when i click on the black line, it brings me to the adobe website and tells me adobe flash player 9 has been successfully installed.
i am fairly sure this has nothing to do with heavy traffic.
any insights on how to resolve this issue?
    cheers.

  • I recently installed Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin, and now can't play any videos from any website in Mozilla, but Google Chrome works.

Cannot play any video from any website in Mozilla after installing Java 6 update 33, and adobe flash player 11 plugin. However, I can play videos from Google Chrome and also from Internet Explorer. For example, when I'm trying to play a you tube video in Mozilla, a black screen comes up with following error message: "An error has occurred. Please try again later."
(This is like the Wizard of Oz -- when the man comes to the little window in the door and says to Dorothy, "Come back tomorrow." )

This may be caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update.

You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • Google Chrome and adobe flash player

    Hi,
I'm having an issue with adobe flash player well when I downloaded google chrome it came with the html 5 player. which I do not have any problems with. However when I go to run you tube videos with html 5 player it only allows me to play them out of 2 of my 4 speakers. I can only hear sound out of my front 2 so I got the plugin that disables the html 5 player and reverts back to the adobe flash player. I have the latest version of Adobe flash on my computer I deleted adobes caching files and different things Like that I only have 1 version of adobe flash when I go into the plugins section of google chrome. So I'm not really sure what to do I know that Internet explorer plays fine when running you tube videos or any online videos. I can hear sound out of all 4 speakers. So I have to assume it's something with Google chrome and Adobe flash player.
    Thanks Kinnyr90
