Safari 4 incredibly slow to load

Downloaded Safari 4 this morning - it's taking over 30 seconds to load pages that used to take a few seconds. Seems stable enough, and the bells and whistles are pretty, but I'd rather trade them for the speed of v3. Anyone else?

Why is iPad so INCREDIBLY slow in loading web pages or e-mails? I have brand new iPad 2.

Just got a new iPad2 last week, installed OK, updated to iOS 5.0, able to access my home's wireless network. However, it is incredibly slow in loading web pages, so that most web sites time out before they will load, like http://finance/yahoo, which I have to use my desktop (Windows XP) or laptop (Windows 7) computers to access, since the iPad will time out almost every time before it can open the site. Same for most other sites, unless real simple like my own web site, which will open OK.
Apple tech support was no help at all. Any suggestions, other than buying a new router?

Have you tried (1) restarting your router, and (2) resetting the wifi on the iPad? To do #2, go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings.

First I would do a speed test to make sure your Internet is working appropriately. If speed is slow you can restart your router/ modem.

Safari incredibly slow and does not play videos

Hi - I am using Safari 8.0.3 on Yosemite 10.10.2. Most of web pages load incredibly slowly. The blue bar stops almost at 1/3.
I tried "Empty Caches" option after reading in the forum .. but it did not help improve the speed.
Now Safari even has stopped playing the your tube video. It loads a black box where the video frame display should be.
Any help in resolving these issues is highly appreciated.
PS - I am not sure why apple does not anything about safari... I have read so many posts about safari being slow.

ITunes incredibly slow to load, cannot see any devices...

Hello,
iTunes is incredibly slow - takes 2 minutes+ to load. When it does load, it cannot see iPod touch, iPad 3 or iPhone 5. It could yesterday.
Updated iTunes.
Totally removed all iTunes and associated programs, and reinstalled.
Checked Apple USB drivers, all functioning.
Deleted preferences file.
Ran on Windows safe mode.
Ran 3 different malware scans in Safe Mode.
Unistalled Quicktime.
Ran on basic boot under MSIconfig.
Please help!

Yes, that's a good point. On my MBP, everything works just fine, so it's not an internet connectivity issue. Both machines are running the same anti-virus/firewall software with the same settings. The MBP is wireless via Time Capsule, whereas the iMac is hardwired to TC. The only difference is the entire library is on the iMac and AppleTV pulls from it for both audio & photos.
But these are all "library" issues, which are unaffected. It's only the "store" and the rendering of the pages within it. I tried the parental settings trick to disable iTunes Store & iTunes U - sped right up on display. But as soon as I changed settings so I could actually access content? Slowed right down...
Any other thoughts??

Someone who help me with my Safari. Always that I want to go to a new page my Safari is very slow to load that page. It's loading the page for a long time without opening. I have done everything to fix it, but nothing has worked.

Safari 5 slow to load pages and fails to resolve addresses - flickering men

At first safari 5 worked great, a day after it began to take ages to resolve and address or worse to load a page. Now I stare at the loading item x of x for ages before a page will come up.
Also, open a couple of tabs and all menus start to flicker when you open them (file, edit, so on) as if a slow refresh effect and I have to close down safari.
Now I clock about 8 to 9 seconds (measured) to open a site that Chrome opens in 3..what gives?

Nvidia GTs 250 1gb onboard mem
2 tb hard drive (plenty free)
8gigs of fast ram

Safari is slow to load amazon search requestst

I am having trouble loading Amazon, Facebook, and Paypal pages since switching to Safari 5.1. the Amazon website for example loads the home page fairly rapidly, but when a search page is carried out as for example for a film the page freezes on the second ww (in the address bar) and does not load!
Anyone with ideas?
I am using a mobile internet dongle here in the UK

Safari very slow to load webpages

i'm currently having an issue, i think, with safari - i noticed around two weeks ago that anytime i open up safari, it takes some time to load websites (including google). prior to that, safari was working fine and the speed was phenomenal.
the strange thing is that i only experience this problem at home. if i go to school or to a coffee shop, safari works wonderfully. secondly, all of the other wireless devices (my roommate's MBP and my PC) browse the internet just fine. finally, there seems to be no such loss of speed if i browse the internet using firefox.
i don't think it is an issue with the router as the other computers have no issues. i have tried resetting the modem and router (twice) by unplugging them, waiting a few minutes and plugging them back in. i have tried emptying the cache and resetting safari. i'm at a loss as to what is causing this and i would really like to get to the bottom of it.

Cross check your Network settings against you mates machines that may tell us something.. are you both running the same os x build?
What may not affect your PC may still be an issue on a Mac even if on the same router.
i checked for that rosetta setting and it was not selected. i'll try deleting the cache file.
Thanks for checking, it was an off chance, since that would also affect the speed in other locations and not only at home.

Safari Really Slow To Load First Page on Startup

I'm using Safari 4.0 on OS 10.4 on a PPC. When I first launch Safari, it takes a really long time, several minutes, to load the first page which is Google. I can hear the hard drive running the whole time it takes to load. Subsequent page views are fine. I've cleaned caches and stuff, but it didn't help.

Tell us which Mac, exactly which Mac OS X, and which version of Safari you are running. Thanks! To see which version of Safari you have, with Safari open, from the Menu Bar click Safari, About Safari. The version number is displayed there.
Also, you need to be running Mac OS X 10.4.11 and have the most recent Security Updates installed.
To see which version your Mac is running, from the Menu Bar in the Finder, click the Apple icon
 then click: About This Mac. The version number is displayed there.
As for the Security Update, open System Preferences/Software Updates - Installed Updates
Make sure you see this update: Security Update 2009-005 (Tiger PPC)

As for trouble shooting...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Safari too slow to load a page, need help

Hi mi name is roberto carlos and i really need help please. Since a time ago my SAFARI has become too slow that i can see the difference. I don't know what to do with it. Please somebody help me, how do i fix it.

Try this:
The following usually works on both Tiger and Leopard:
(First, if yours is an Intel Mac, check that Safari is not running in Rosetta, which is enough to slow it to a crawl.)
Many, including me, have had success with adding DNS codes to their Network Settings, with good results in terms of speed-up:
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu. Click on TCP/IP and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' enter the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
Restart Safari, and repair permissions.
If that didn't do it, then try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
form values
download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
com.apple.Safari.plist
Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved.
Less likely, but possible, is that the slowness is caused by a Trojan such as the one called 'DNSChanger' or 'OSZ.RSPlug', which can alter the DNS settings of your network connection. This particular Trojan can be inadvertently installed if you have come across certain Quicktime movies where got a window stating that you have to download and install a particular codec in order to see the video.
If you have agreed to that installation, your system can be infected and your DNS settings altered, which results in your system using the wrong DNS servers, which can slow web surfing to a crawl.
This can be fixed by downloading and running a freeware utility called DNSChanger Removal Tool which you can download from here:

Once you have run that utility you have to re-boot your Mac, then reset Safari, and re-enter your DNS settings in System Preferences/Network.

SQL Developer incredibly slow to load Application Schema ~15 minutes

Hi, I am evaluating SQL Developer to see if it is a viable alternative to TOAD and although it compares favourably on it's functionality offering it is unusable when I try to connect to a remote applications database. It seems to attempt to load all PL/SQL objects from the remote server even if I am only opening a single procedure or package.
For example, if i want to view the packages in the apps schema then I expand the packages tree control in the connections browser. This takes ~15 minutes to complete! TOAD, while also slow, takes ~30 to 40 seconds.
This obviously makes the tool useless. Does anyone else get this problem?

Just to clarify, the slowness is only seen in packages? Or when loading the list of procedures or functions as well?
Can you run the following SQL in the worksheet? Replace the :SCHEMA binds with the schema you are querying (so 'HR' or whatever), and execute it using the 'Run Script' button (or F5). The join in the query seems slow, but I wanted to see if that seems to be the majority of the problem, or if there is something else wrong as well (a fetch size issue, or a problem when we create the actual nodes in the tree).
