Safari 5.0.2 doesn't hide menu bar with flash full screen mode

I have scoured these forums and others for an answer. I have deleted every little bit of Safari and Adobe/Macromedia/Flash preference file. I even tried using an older backup, which worked until I updated Safari on it.
The menu bar won't go away!
Is this a well known problem, or am I an unlucky slob?

Unlucky so far, I'd say.
So, picking something in particular so we're on the same page... does this refuse to hide the bar too?
Is a New User Account the same ?

  • Mountain Lion - missing menu bar when in full screen mode

    Hi,
just installed ML on my late 2008 MacBookPro 15´. Everything works ok except the fact that I lose my menu bar when I switch a screen in full screen mode. Bringing my mouse pointer to the top of the screen usually dropped down the menu bar. Not so anymore with ML.
Does anyone experienced the same issue? Is this a setting preference?
    Thanks!

I just got QT Pro 7.1.3, but I just can't seem to get rid of that annoying menu bar. Even the older 6.5.1 didn't show the menu bar when in Presentation mode.
Can't really help you. Seems to work properly in OS 10.4.8 for me. May be a bug that only shows up when QT v7.1.3 is used with OS 10.3.9 which needs to be reported.

  • Safari hides nav bar as though full screen

Lately (the last month) Safari hides the nav bar across the top as though in full screen mode; to exit this I need to hit esc twice. That then minimizes window and the nav bar shows. I can't find a way to show the nav bar in full mode (not in full screen). This is new, frustrating, and likely sending me back to Firefox. Any answers?

I agree, it should stay visible, but you can get it back with one-click by View->Customize Toolbar, then drag the  "Boormark Bar" button to the toolbar.  When in Full Screen, click the button:
Seems like it will stay visable in subsequent Full Screens.

  • Menu bar missing in full screen

I have FF 3.6.16,and when in full screen auto-hide mode,my menu bar is missing when I mouse over the top of the screen. It is present in non-full screen mode.I have checked the view>toolbars>menu bar,but this doesn't fix the problem. Other toolbars I have selected are visible when checked. Please advise, thanks!

The default Full Screen mode in Firefox doesn't show the Menu bar.
Autohide has options for exactly what you want to show in Full Screen mode. <br />

I have been using Autohide myself for 6 or 7 years, one of the oldest and best made extensions for Firefox.

  • Menu bar disappearing in full-screen (I mean, not sliding down when mouse is at the top of the screen)

Well, I guess the title speaks for itself.
Sometimes (once yesterday, once today) the menu bar disappears and fails to reappear when i point my mouse at the top of the screen. It's a minor nuisance in some apps, but it's boring as **** in Safari, as it doesn't allow me to quickly open pages from my history...
I've tried rebooting and that seemed to solve the problem. Restarting Finder via force quit doesn't seem to solve anything, though.
Has something like this happened to someone else?
    Thanks

  • How can I configure my Macbook Air to always show the menu bar when in full-screen?  I hate, hate, hate it popping up and then going away all the time.

I cannot find a way to change this in System Preferences.  When I have applications open full screen, my menu bar disappears.  Then when I try to move between tabs, I find it is always popping up & then disappearing.  I really just want to set up my computer so that the menu bar always displays in the foreground. I find this popping up & disappearing intrusive and annoying.  How can I fix this?  I hate, hate, hate this about my MAC...
I have searched the full User Guide, Quick Start Guide, etc.  and cannot find a way to fix this.

Don't use the full screen arrow in the top right corner of the window.  Instead, use the green + in the top left corner.  That takes the window full screen just below the menu bar.

  • Where have my menu bars gone for full screen apps?

    Hello
Liking Lion so far but a quick query:
When I first started using it, I could make the menu bar appear in a full screen app by simply moving the cursor up to the top of the screen and holding it there - the menu bar would appear within a second.
Now, nothing happens. I have to either quit the application - or I've now found that CTRL/CMD/F pulls me out of the full screen - but then that puts the app back onto the main desktop.
Is there anything I might have done to alter this behaviour?
    Thanks..

I think you are right and it's a bug.
I can't reproduce it on my system. You might want to
create a new User go to System Preferences > Accounts > "+" (make it an admin acct) and test full screen in this new account, to see if the problem is isolated to your User or systemwide.

  • How do I turn off/hide strip viewer when in Full Screen mode?!?!

this is stuck in the on position. not sure if this is something new from 1.5.6 or if something just clicked but it always seems to be in the way and i want it gone! Any ideas?

yours is showing all the time? mine only shows when my mouse is at the bottom of the screen.
However it also shows for me in non-fullscreen mode after i've switched to a different Space (in Leopard) and back. Have to go into fullscreen and then out of it to make it disappear.

  • Menu Bar items invisible in Safari full screen mode

I have a brand new MacBook Pro 13" Retina, mid-2014 (the MGX72). When I use Safari in full screen mode, then move the cursor to the very top of the screen, which is supposed to bring back the Menu bar, a blank space representing the Menu Bar appears, and if I move the cursor to any place on that blank space and click, I see the items/options associated with Menu Bar items. So it's like the Menu Bar items are there, but they're invisible. This has to be a glitch of some type. My MacBook Air doesn't do this; the Menu Bar items appear normally, as they should. Is there a fix for this? All the usual suspects for bringing Safari out of full screen mode work fine, but that's not the idea. The Menu Bar items are supposed to become visible and they do not.

No, dont return it, its a glitch in Safari, and VERY annoying. I first would have to Force Quit Safari, but later learned to keep hovering the mouse in the upper right corner, even tho nothing, yeah nothing,,,,is visible.
Keep the mouse there, and after a bit, you will see the little arrows pointing in, hit them.
But to keep this from happening again, Im not sure.
So anybody with further info, please post it here.

  • Hide Menu Bar from Users Opening Form

Allow Documents To Hide The Menu Bar, Toolbars, And Window Controls
I see this in Preferences>Documents, but how does my doc hide the Menu Bar? The doc is a form that hospital patients can fill out in a kiosk, and we don't want them to see the Menu Bar when they open the form. How do I set the form so that when it opens, the Menu Bar is not visible? Once I have the form open, I know that F9 will close it, but we want the Menu Bar to be closed whenever this form is opened. So, in short how does this work?
Allow Documents To Hide The Menu Bar, Toolbars, And Window Controls

That's not an option but you can run some apps such as Safari in full screen mode which hides the menu bar.
From the Safari menu bar ckik View > Enter Full Screen
If an app supports full screen mode, that feature should be available from the apps View menu.

  • Safari unable to view menu bar in full screen mode

Been using Lion for a while now and everything seems fine, except for some reason when Safar is in full screen mode and I move the mouse up to the toolbar, the file menu and shortcuts bar doesn't appear now. It worked yesterday... now it won't. I quit safari completely, opened it back up and it still wont. Next will be a reboot...

Thanks, I rebooted and it came good, but if it happens again i'll try that

  • When safari is in full screen mode and I move the mouse to the top of the screen to bring up the menu bar and the bookmark bar, it does nothing.  Is anyone else having this issue?

When safari is in full screen mode and I move the mouse to the top of the screen to bring up the menu bar and the bookmark bar, it does nothing.  Is anyone else having this issue?
    Thanks

I just tested that since I hardly ever use full screen mode, this was the first time since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and it worked fine for me.
Try shutting Safari down and see if that changes anything.
If that doesn't change anything, try shutting down and then rebooting.

  • How can I turn off auto-hide menu bar in Terminal app?

This is soooo anoying.   Open terminal app in fullscreen mode, open a few tabs, now when you move your mouse to the top to click on a new tab, the menu bar shows itself and covers the tabs.
I want to turn off this feature to auto-hide the menu bar.  I would much rather have it move all the tabs down a bit when the menu bar apprears.
Any ideas to help fix the issue?

Can't turn that off. It's a feature of full screen mode. If you place your mouse at the bottom of the tab you want to select, the Terminal Menu bar doesn't pop up for me.

  • (Chrome Like) Auto-Hide Tab bar in Safari Full Screen mode

Is there a plugin or some other way to auto hide the tab bar in Safari fullscreen mode like the way Chrome does?
This is the only thing stopping me from using Safari, it's way smoother than Chrome and feels much more native to Lion, but the fact the tab bar just keeps hanging there is annoying.
I tried the Cmd+I method mentioned in the community, but it only works when you're only opening one tab, if you open several tabs, the tab bar will show up again. It also comes back up once you exit Full Screen mode.
    Thanks for your help !

Hello myzzzl, this is normal behavior in full screen mode, you can set the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.fullscreen.autohide browser.fullscreen.autohide] in about:config to False, to change that, but if you do that tabs and location bar is enabled in full screen mode.
wait if another contributor/helper give you a code which I don't know.
    thank you

  • How to hide some functions in the menu bar of flash paper

Do anyone know how to hide some functions in the menu bar of
flash paper? As I want to show a swf file(converted from pdf) on

Also, if possible, can anyone know how to hide all functions

Thank you very much, it is very urgent.

Here is an article about how to integrate flashPaper into
