Safari 5.0 - URL does not change when changing location

I have noticed this on two Macs running 10.6.3. When moving between pages (eg, clicking on a link within a page, or using the Google search bar to locate and load a new page), the URL in the address bar does not change to the new location. It remains at the
This applies whether the new page is within the same domain, or is at a different location.
Specific test: Load http://news.bbc.co.uk in Safari. Towards the top left of the page, there's a link to the BBC home page, which should appear in the status bar as "http://www.bbc.co.uk". Clicking on it will send you to that page, but the URL will remain as the news subdomain. If you click to another tab, then click back, it'll then update correctly.

MIght be corrupted Safari pref files.
Go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference. If not, move the .plist file back to the Preferences folder. If Safari functions as it should, move that .plist file to the Trash.
If the problem persists, go to ~/Library/Caches. From the com.apple.Safari folder move the "cache.db" file to the Trash. Relaunch Safari.

Lighroom 5.4 Develop View does not update when changing sliders

Just updated to Lightroom 5.4 (using Adobe CC) on Win8. After going to "develop view" on any photo and changing the exposure or any other slider does not update the main view of the photo. It does however update the thumbnail in the film strip and the second monitor window correctly. I've tried everything I can think of:
(1) downgrading to LR 5.3 (which used to work)
(2) forcing 1:1 and standard preview regeneration
(3) uninstalling the re-installing Lightroom (both 5.3 and 5.4)
(4) Optimizing catalogue
(5) Removing the Adobe AppData folder
(6) Creating a brand new catalogue with zero photos, importing a single photo and trying to change exposure/contrast on that
None of these result in the develop view of the picture changing when I change the sliders.
Do you guys have any experience with this?

The chances of me suspecting monitor color profile causing bugs in LR was very slim. =)
So were mine, especially when only the view itself doesn't work, but all other stuff works fine. Well, I probably have really not good colour profile, luckly you can change it after the lr is launched - it won't cause the problem untill next restart (at least works for me). And hopefully once my calibrator arrives lr will work ok with its colour profiles..

"Add to Shooping cart" button does not work when changing Product Category

Dear all, we are running SRM 4.0 Classic scenario and we have a strange problem with Product Category field. When click on the "Describe Requirement", it opens the shopping cart page with the Product Category field and the default value is coming from favorites. As long as you dont change this value , enter the other fields and click on the "Add to shopping cart" button, then it works. If the users try to change this value on this page to select a different value from the drop down, then the "Add to Shopping Cart" button does not work. Has anyone encountered this problem before. Users are getting frustrated with this behaviour. Any help to fix this issue is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dear Disha, this is what is the behaviour.
Suppose, if for a particular user, there are 4 items listed as favorites in the Product category and one of them is a default value. If you don't make any changes to this value and then click on Add to Shopping Cart, it works. If you try to select a different value other than the default from the favorites, then the Button does not do anything.You click on it nothing happens and cannot go to the next page. Also all the links are disabled (ie Describe Requirement / Old Purchase Order and Template)
If we dont change the value for Product category and go to the next page (with default value) and then change the Product category here, it works (Continue button works and were able to Order or Hold).

Shared font does not work when changed

Hi, I am using a shared font in an eLearning course. The font
is in a separate library file and is used in all pages. But if I
change the font in the font properties, the text in the other pages
does not show up. Has any one come across a solution for this
issue?

Find and replace in files does not refresh when changes are made

Using RH10, I search for a term with the Find and Replace Options pod. I use the Find Results list as a reference only, and open each file from the Topic List. I do this instead of opening the topics from the Find Results tab because I want to see the WYSIWYG changes. Anyway, I make my edits and delete the search term from each topic. Then, to make sure I have done all the work, I run the search again. I expect to see no or at least fewer matches than before, but I still get some or all of the same results as before, even though I double-check the Design and HTML views of the topics and even check the source of a topic separately in Notepad, all indicating that the search term is gone from the topic.
There is some ridiculous lingering or echo going on. I make sure to select Look in: <Current Project>, and the paths of all the Find Results files are fine. How do you refresh the search so that this echo doesn't occur?
Also, I close the Find and Replace Options pod, reopen it and start the search again, and the same results are there.

To avoid the message about the file being modified, close all topics in the editor before commencing with any find and replace operations. The message is produced because you have the aforementioned topics open in the editor.
As you mention "Find and replace in files", I'm guessing you are referring to version 8. I just opened version 8 and performed a find and replace to confirm. There is a button allowing you to clear all.
On the clicking and dragging to create a link, it's never worked that way. You simply cannot drag from the Topic List pod to do it. But you can from the Project Manager pod. Perhaps you should consider submitting a Wish Form to ask for the ability to click and drag from the Topic List pod to create links.
As far as rearranging your topics into different folders, as long as you do it from inside RoboHelp you shouldn't be destroying any links. RoboHelp will update references for you as you move things around. The only issue is if you are automatically creating your TOC structure based on the project structure. But usually that's a one time shot. From there forward you just manage things using the TOC editor.

URL does not come up in location bar

When I open a new tab and click on a bookmark, the url loads in the location bar and then goes blank. The cursor stays in the location bar and I have to click on the new page before it moves. How do I get the website name to appear automatically in the location bar when I open a new tab. I have Status-4-evar installed and although it worked when I first used it, it no longer does.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

You're looking in the wrong place. You're in the System Preferences, and you need to be in the Safari preferences, if that's the web browser you're using. You find these preferences under the Safari application menu, which will be under the "Safari" name just to the right of the Apple menu.

In 5.0 URL does not show in location bar when I am using a second Firefox window

I have a lot of problems when using a second window for Firefox 5.0. (I have two monitors and like an open browser on each.) One problem is that when I open a new tab, the URL of a site that I go to does not show in the location bar. It just says "Go to a Web site."
I don't understand why a second copy of the browser acts so differently than the first. Can someone explain this to me? Is there any way to avoid this?
FYI: I had the same problem with 4.0 and reinstalled an older version. But the newest version of WordPress suggested upgrading Firefox, which I did.

Safari on my account does not display images when you open a picture.

I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed. Safari on my account does not display images most of the time when you open a picture like (www.example.com/example/example.jpg or any other format). If the image does not display, I can drag from the corner, it displays the image. However, pdf does not work at all. I have to choose open in Preview to view the pdf file. Hi all the real problem was this...
The issue was that the wee rubber eye piece around the viewfinder had slipped out of its seat slightly and was covering the sensor for the LCD. I Just checked the rubber eye piece bit pushed right down till it clipped into place and now not obstructing the LCD sensor as the picture displays both with the LCD auto off enabled or disabled !! simple thing but a massive trap !

first, you just asked me to use MS file Explorer to see what the properties were.,..and to ask what happened. Yes - that's on my hard drive. The problem I have is opening word files in a DB that is web enabled.....I've used Firefox browser for that, and everything else , for years...... When I look at the Tools, and options on FireFox., as your support page noted.....NOTHING is listed in the Applications tab....hence my note asking for help. The file I need to open is a Word file out on a web enabled DB. It's not on my hard drive - I have to problems opening docs there - but for that, I don't use Firefox
