Safari 5.1.2 browsing sessions become idle..

As of last week, my safari browser hasn't been working properly. For some strange reason the pages I visit seem to become idle for no apparent reason, especially if I spend a few minutes on a page simply browsing or writing a message. When I click to access a following page or opening a new page, I have to disconnect my wifi and reconnect. The pages then load like normal and browsing resumes, until I have to repeat this process again later down the line.
This is not only frustrating, but I am concerned because the same has been happening with other browsers like google chrome and firefox, which I tried out to see if they had the same problem. My wifi is working fine and has a very strong connection, so I don't know what the problem is... I must add that this all started happening, after my laptop had a bit of a knock. I hope nothing has been damaged inside to cause my current browsing problem. I hope someone can help. Having to constantly kickstart Safari this way is driving me mad!

How much free space on the starup disk?
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
And you may want to check the startup disk. It may need repairing.
Launch Disk Utility. That's located in /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Select Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks

Stop Safari from opening last browsing session?

Using Safari 5.1 (7534.58.3). I do a radio show twice per week. While on the show, I open like 30 windows with articles or information I want to discuss on the show.
When I'm done, I close the browser.
Later, when I reopen it, the 15 or so pages i didn't get to come back. Safari has remembered my browsing history and reopened all previous pages from my last broswer session.
I don't like that and want to turn it off.
Can I?
IF so, how?
If not, why not?

Or you can also hold down "Shift" while clicking Safari to skip the loading of your last session when it is launched. This must be done each time though.

Custom web parts in SharePoint 2013 becomes inactive when the session is idle for long time.

We have a search center site with custom web parts and custom master pages. When the session is inactive for long time all the custom web parts in the page doesn't work, unless we close the browser and open it. Where as this is not the case with the
OOB web parts. We are not able to identify the root cause as it works with OOB web parts and not the custom web parts.We were able to find that by increasing the session timeout of the web application we can avoid this issue.We do not want to increase the
session timeout as the OOB web part works perfectly even when the user session is idle for long time.Is there any other alternative where we can acheive the same for custom web parts when the session is idle for long time?

According to your descirption, my understanding is that when the session is long time idle ,then custom web part will not work.
I suggest you check if you have enable the session in the Page Level in the web.config. By default SharePoint disable the session state.
In the web.config, you will see <page enableSessionState> tag. You can modify like below and test if it works.

Why is my Safari browsing session not continuing on my iPhone from my MacBook Pro? I thought this was a feature of Mountain Lion or do I need to change some settings?

To synce iMessages with iOS and OSX, you need to not only have a well setup contacts card (both their apple id email and their iphone phone number in one card) you will need to setup your apple id on your phone. Your friend will also need to do the same thing on their phone, however you are able to send messages to phone numbers, they do not sync with OSX and will not show up on, say an iPad. This will be fixed once iOS 6 comes out, or at least that's what the keynote and WWDC 2012 said
In iOS go to settings>Messages receive at and sign in with your apple id you use for iMessages. (make sure you are only using one apple id, I know it lets you use multiple ones, but it works best with one).
now that your iOS device and your OSX device have the same apple id email tied to imessages, have a friend send you a message or send one to your friend and when they reply back it should all sync.
A catch, as of now, with iOS 6 not out, there is no way to sync iMessages made with your phone number and OSX. So some of your text messages may only appear on your phone until you respond.
once you respond, you've responded with you apple id.
if they respond to that message specifically then the chat will sync between all devices.
if your friend says that they have two text messages open for you, tell them that they have to add your apple id to the contact card they have for you, and then delete both messages. Now it'll sync in one message box.
The same is true with other chat accounts and your contact cards in Messages.app on OSX
Think of Contacts.app as the new buddy list...

Idle in safari and it closes my session

If I open a tab in safari, then leave it unattended it closes the connection. This is crazy. I have to relog in every time i want to use the tab. I used to be able to have 6 tabs open on this web page, for hours on end, and use them as i needed throughout the day, this is no longer possible. I contacted Customer Suppost and its a powersaving feature in mavricks that can not be turned off yet. Does any one else find this annoying? Safari is my favorite browser, most stable ive come aross. Now it's been made inoperable for me. I have had no choice but to use other browsers that are not, well safari.

Try troubleshooting Safari extensions and third party plugins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Go to Settings>Mail, etc.>iCloud and delete the account. Then add in a new account with the details you want.

After quitting a "private browsing" session, and I quit togo back to previously open tabs/pinned sites, 40% of the time, the Browser does not restore all previously open tabs/pinned apps/sites

Using HP Pavilion Dv7 with Windows Home Premium, 64bit, and only now and then will FF4.0.1 restore previous (normal) session after returning from a private browsing session, )I use the Quit Private Browsing menu item from the Toolbar right-click menu to go back).... In addition, previously Pinned sites (apps) are lost also, and all must be re-added.
Inconsistent failure and I've not been able to reliably reproduce-- sometimes (about 4-6 times in 10) it just loses all previous information.

I would add that bookmarks may be organised into folders and subfolders. You may wish to make more use of bookmarks if only to ensure you do not loose everything if your session restore becomes problematic.
Bookmarks are a bit more robust than the session restore system. Firefox backs them up automatically and you may do so manually. Possibly Firefox will behave better and faster with hundreds of bookmarks but only tens of tabs open. There is also the tabs groups, but that is something I think development has ceased on and may have similar issues to session restore / or open tabs.

Is there a way to open a previous browsing session in Safari?

In the History menu there is an item called "Reopen All Windows From Last Session."
As for a tutorial, it works like Safari for OS X mostly, and like other web browsers. Do you have any specific questions about it?
(Safari 3.2 and 3.2.1 on Windows XP has a habit of freezing up on me though.)

Safari as standard web browser

After installing Firefox 2.0 on my pc, it has become impossible to make Safari my standard web browser. Even if I uninstall Firefox the only result is, that IE is set as standard browser.

Thanks. I tried both suggestions, but IE still pops up, when I click a hyperlink from my mail-program (Outlook 2002). Using Control Panel the option "Use current web browser" (which should be Safari) is persistently selected, when opening "Set Program Access and Defaults" again. Puzzling!

Changing volume kills all browser sessions

About half the time I either increase, decrease or mute my volume via my keyboard, all open broswer sessions are killed. I can be logged into multiple websites using both Safari and Firefox and when I hit funtion keys F10, F11 or F12 on my aluminium Apple Extended keyboard, all open browser sessions instantly close. This has been going on since OSX 10.7.0
I have tried resetting all of my keyboard settings to default and it hasn't helped. It's making me insane!

Since the new iTunes 10.4.1 Update addresses volume issues with 3rd party keyboards, I thought I'd give it a try even though I am using an Apple keyboard but the issue persists.

How do I clear my bookmarks from the Firefox browser on a public computer, having synced my account to see them during a browsing session?

Here's what I'm trying to achieve:
1. I use Firefox on someone else's computer and sync my account to retrieve my bookmarks. (This works.)
2. After finishing my browsing session, I sign out of my Firefox account, and my bookmarks are cleared from the Firefox browser. (This doesn't work.)
I have tried the following options:
a) Open menu > Options > Sync > untick 'Bookmarks' > OK. This doesn't clear my bookmarks from the browser, not even if I close and open it again. They all show up.
b) Open menu > Options > Sync > under Firefox Account click 'Disconnect' > OK. This doesn't clear my bookmarks either, only necessecitates me signing in to sync again.
I understand there used to be an option to 'unlink this device', which may clear all data including bookmarks, but I can't find it anywhere. I've also read an article suggesting clearing bookmarks etc can be achieved by deleting your Firefox profile from a device, but I fear this will delete global options such that I won't be able to access them on my home computer.
Surely there must be a way of siging in then out of the Firefox account on different computers, like you can with e-mail, without leaving all your bookmarks etc open for every other user to see afterwards? I'm transfering to Firefox from Chrome precisely because it doesn't have the capacity to do this (scarily), and to clear my bookmarks from a friends' browser, I had to uninstall Chrome on her computer!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled.

How to get the last used session id for a browser session

In HTMLDB 2.0 it is not possible to start a page with authentication without a SESSION_ID and when you start a public page without a SESSION_ID, then every time a new SESSION_ID is generated when you don't use the SESSION_ID in the URL.
In the same browser session I want to make a URL call to a HTMLDB page without a SESSION_ID and this page has to give back the last used SESSION_ID.
How can I do that?

Fred - You could record that session ID in a table. Each time your authenticated application runs, it would update that table with the "latest" session ID, perhaps using an application process. Then when you are formulating the URL to the public page from another application, you'd get the session ID from that table. Or you could use the page sentry component of your app's authentication scheme to send a cookie to the browser on every page view. The cookie would contain the session ID and the other application could access the cookie to complete the URL.

How to open a URL without session ID and reuse the current browser session?
That was the behaviour in HTMLDB 1.6 ...
My usecase for this is the following:
We have written an issue tracking application, which sends e-mail to the interested users, when something happens.
In these email we've put a link to some page, with some parameters in the URL.
The idea is for the user to be easy to click on the hyperlink and to see the details of the ticket.
When the user clicks on such a link he is directed to a login screen (page 101) and he enters his Username and password, and is then forwarded to the details for the ticket.
Then he receives another email (e.g. for another ticked). He clicks on the link and :
a) in HTMLDB 1.6 he goes to the details as he didn't close his browser and session is remembered
b) in HTMLDB 2.0 he is prompted to enter username, password with the username populated
Please tell me how can I achieve the same behaviour in HTMLDB2.0 as it was in HTMLDB 1.6.
I understand this change is somehow security related, althogh I don't understand how. If you can explain this either I would be very happy?

I do not really know much about this kind of problem, but i may be your internet connection.
If you are on your own #G network then:
Go to Settings > then enable "Airplane Mode". Count to 10 and then disable it.
Then wait patiently until you get a good connection and then try again.
If you are on a nearby Wi-Fi connection then:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then disable then enable after counting to 10. Make sure that you are connected and then try again.
If all else fails, then you need to contact your provider for assistance.
