Safari 5.1.4 YouTube woes.

I have seen a couple of threads and posts on this topic but none have had the information I am looking for so hoping a new threa will get me and a few others I have seen some answers.
Completed the Safari 5.1.4 update late last night and since then when trying to use youtube.  Videos will play sometimes.  Other times they will play but I have no control over volume, search bar, play buttons and the like.  Also the biggest issue I am having isthe like, share, add and other buttons dont work.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Have you emptied Safari caches (Safari > Empty caches)?
Have you reset Safari in part (Safari > Reset Safari), with all items checked except for usernames, passwords, and auto fill?
Have you reset Safari in full?
Have you disabled extensions?
Have you disabled plug-ins?
Have you tested in a new user?
Have you pulled ~/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist while Safari is quit?
Have you pulled ~/library/safari/ while Safari is quit?

  • Okay since last apple software update my safari will not open youtube, yahoo or google

Okay since last apple software update my safari will not open youtube, yahoo or google, an error message comes up saying safari cannot connect to the server.  Can anyone help me with this please?

    Hi Joshua ..
Check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that wasn't the issue, try using OpenDNS.
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, prevents the, "can't connect to server" issue, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser re directs, and it's free.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
    Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.
    208.67.222.222
    Click +
    208.67.220.220
    Then click OK.

I can't open the app store, safari the mail app, youtube app and the maps app. they try to open then close very quickly. what can I do?

Try downloading another app - any free app - that seems to reset something and the apps may start working again. Try that first. If that doesnt work, try these steps
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • I have received the alert that my version of Safari no longer supports Youtube viewing. I am running version 5.1.10 on OS 10.6.8. Is there an update or a newer Safari version that is compatible with my OS?

I have received the alert that my version of Safari no longer supports Youtube viewing. I am running version 5.1.10 on OS 10.6.8. Is there an update or a newer Safari version that is compatible with my OS?

No, not without upgrading to a higher version of the Mac OS. However, the easiest thing to do is get another browser for use with sites that don't like older versions of Saari. I always have a secondary browser on any computer, Mac or PC. For our Macs, I install FireFiox alongside Safari when setting up a new computer.
As FireFox is updated sometimes weekly, YouTube should not have a problem with it.

  • Safari can't run youtube or open jpeg attachments

The latest safari can't run youtube. Just get black box. Also websites with jpeg attachments don't open. Just blank page. Turned extensions off. Reinstalled flash. Ran permissions repair. Could this be something with java? Use to work.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    2DivX?
    Try installing Perian from http://perian.org/
You should read this support page http://perian.org/#support in case you need to delete older codecs. In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them). However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/
    Lala download
    What is that?

  • My Safari is not loading YouTube correctly, please help.

Starting on January 15th, 2009, my Safari no longer loads Youtube.com correctly. The homepage looks bizarre, and not like it should. The other links on the page all have similar issues. I have below two screenshots to help visualize what I am trying to describe:

    http://i400.photobucket.com/albums/pp90/Mezamete/Picture1-1.png
This is with Safari version 2.0.4 (419.3)
Flash player is freshly updated, if anyone is curious about that.
I would love to be able to use Safari again to view my youtube. As it is, I can see it just fine in Firefox.

    Hi,
Have you tried resetting Safari? You can do this via Safari menu > Reset Safari...
Also, is there a reason why you aren't running the latest versions of OS X and Safari? OS X 10.4.11 comes with Safari 3, and the latest updates to 10.4.11 now take Safari up to 3.2.1. The latest versions can be obtained by running System Preferences > Software Update

  • Safari 8.0 Yosemite youtube hyperlinks not working in fullscreen

ever since i installed Yosemite, when ever i click on the links on youtube videos in fullscreen mode in safari 8.0, it plays the same video again! Its really inconvenient. Suggestions? anyone?

    Hi ..
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:   Remove All Website Data
    Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    (YouTube requires Flash)
Now open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Quit and relaunch Safari then try a YouTube video.
If that didn't work, go back to System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced then click Check Now to see if there's a Flash update available.
If there's no Flash update avaiable, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

  • Ipad mini cannot use Safari after connecting to Youtube?

My ipad mini doesn't seem to want to open Safari after I try to watch videos on Youtube. I tried using the Youtube app, reinstalling it, and using Safari to open up Youtube videos, but no go. It seems that my ipad mini is also unable to use Safari after trying to watch these videos, and I have to go out of my way to turn off and turn on the Wifi button again. This is already my second ipad mini, because I exchanged the first one due to the "battery charging" issue.
I've already tried to do the home button + power button reset and reset all my other settings. I know it's not my router because I can use my netbook and my mom can use her laptop on it, and even her ipad. I have also had this ipad for about a month now, and the problem only arose this afternoon. If there is an internal problem, I'd really like to exchange it again while I still have warranty, but I was just wondering, did anyone else seem to have these problems? And if so, did you get it fixed?

Go into Settings -> Safari -> Clear History and Website Data

  • Safari doesn't open Youtube every now and then!!

    Hi all,
I'm able to open youtube and watch videos on my iMac but after a few minutes when I click a link, I get "Safari can't find the server" page.
I find this weird, because it happens only with youtube and not with any other website. I'm able to get back to youtube only after several minutes and then the whole thing happens again.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is the problem with my Mac / Safari or youtube?
I'm have the latest updates on my Mac.
    Any advice?
    Thanks a lot.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4.0+ SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
'''''If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Not able to connect to Internet (Safari pre-set websites, YouTube, i-Tunes)

I am not able to connect to the internet, even though it appears I'm getting wireless on the iTouch. Have read numerous threads, nothing I have done has worked (tying to match my iTouch wireless settings to my Windows laptop settings, restarting router multiple times, choosing other under networks and trying to reset up my router config, trying to connect to IP using http://192.168.1.1 and/or http://192.168.1.1).
So get message "Cannot Connect to iTunes store", "Cannot connect to YouTube", and "Safari can't open the page because it can't find the server".
On my wirless settings (note my router is a Netgear DG834GB and works fine on both Windows based laptops in our home):
    - My home network is checked;
    - Under DCHP, BootIP, and Static all fields BUT router, search domains, client ID are checked.
    - HTTP proxy is currently set to Auto with URL blank.
Apologies, been trying to read through threads to find the answer that will get me going, but either haven't found it yet or things like installing firmware (where do I install it, on my laptop or itouch, etc?) I don't understand what exactly needs to be done to do that.

disable wireless security on your router and see if you can connect

  • Safari 5.1.2 Youtube HTML5-Video issues

Fullscreen-Button on Youtube doesn't work for HTML5 videos on Youtube in Safari. Also there are problems with the video performance. The process QTKitServer Safari Webcontent has 105% CPU, the whole MacBook is very slow in that moment.
This is only a problem in Safari!
Since three years i use Safari for all my work on the net. But after the upgrade to Lion, this browser has a lot of bugs and getting slower and slower. I think it is time to change the browser. :S

Yes. I have the same problem as well. Watching a video on Youtube and the process called QTKitServer goes above 100%. I haven't figured out why (html 5 or fullscreen or whatever) but I didn't noticed it before.
Macbook, Snow Leopard, Safari 5.1.2 with only the Adblock extension running.
