Safari 5.1 not loading after iTunes update

I have a Safari problem after updating iTunes. All browsers and mail programs work, just not Safari. Safari will work on my Guest account, or I can use an alternative browser, but that not a solution, just a short term fix.
Same problem has occured on my mac server from updating iTunes. When I check Network Diagnostics (server and client), the bottom two lights are yellow for a brief second, they turn green and I receive a "A network settings change has been detected." Still the problem persists, Safari just hangs without connection. An the same yellow to green plus "fixed" message appears when I reenter network settings.

Could be a third party Safari add on preventing Safari pages from loading, especially since an alternate browser works ok and it's just your user account that's effected.
Follow the instructions for troubleshooting > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

I can't seem to find any other posts about this problem.
I have three external hard rives connect by a USB hub to my iMac.
Problem is that if I turn on the hard drive(s) AFTER start up I get a message that the drive either was not recognized by the OS or that it was ejected unexpectedly.
I get the same issue but not all the time if I turn them on before I boot the iMac.
I used the disk drive utility to "repair" the drives but they always come back as "probably ok".
If I restart the iMac with the drives connected (on), it seems to work but not all the time.
A bit annoying as I am wondering if the drives are OK or not.
I don't always need the drives as they are for backing up images from my camera using Apreture.
This all began after i did the latest security update.
is the update to blame?

Yes, you can still use those instructions to reset the PRAM.
You said that you booted to your install disk and that your primary drive did not show up at the Select a Destination screen? That usually means that the computer is either not recognizing your partition, or it's not recognizing the hard drive itself.
Start with this article and follow all the steps even if you already tried them. I suspect that you'll get to step 4 and you'll end up having to call Applecare. If you haven't done those steps, they're most likely going to make you do them anyway, so you might as well get them done before the call.

Firefox will not load after a update, even in safe mode

I click on the firefox icon
It starts to load with the hourglass on the mouse thig going, then it does not start. I tried in the safe mode,

My Computer said it was updating fire fox just before that.
I have removed all the cookies everywhere using that CC Cleaner

Run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).

If that doesn't help then do a clean reinstall.
Clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

According to your description, my understanding is that webpages takes so long to load(some webpages can't even load) after upgrading to Windows Server 2008 R2.
Which server has been upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2? And what is the OS version before upgrading?

I am wondering that if the webpages mean Internet webpages. Check the settings on DNS server which connects to external network about forwarders or root hints. Or you may configure the Fios DNS as forwarder of your DNS server.

Open the DNS server and confirm that if corresponding DNS entries are correct. Besides, open CMD, type the command below and each line end with enter:

IPad does not sync after iTunes update

Hi there,
About a week ago, I updated my iTunes to 10.2.1. For some reason, I can't see the iPad in iTunes any longer when trying to sync. My iPod touch, however, shows up and syncs without problems. I've removed the iTunes (and Quicktime etc.) completely from the computer and reinstalled the software. No change. Tried McAfee's firewall settings, but still no change. I am desperate and running out of ideas now.
Can anyone help, please?

I also had this problem where I was forced to restore the iPad and iTunes would not see the device after preparing the restore and update.
Per the instructions on this thread and within http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 I did the following:
1. From Windows XP task manager I stopped iPodService.exe from the Processes tab.
2. I deleted the iTunes folder from c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\Apple
Now the restore and sync has been going through just fine.
This is annoying however, as this is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened after performing an iTunes update. Luckily I backup and sync about once a week.

Mac Mini will not load after recent update.

My late 2012 model Mac Mini just had a software update and upon rebooting, my login name did not populate. I rebooted again and now I get the gray screen with spinner and progress bar. Once the progress bar loads I have just the spinner for a minute or so before it cuts off completely. I use a wireless MAC keyboard and it will not load into safe mode when I try holding down SHIFT upon reboot. Any suggestions?

Airtunes and Airport not working after Itunes update

I have a new airport and before updating to the new version of iTunes it worked perfectly. Now the green light flashes (an option I ticked to show activity) but no music comes from the device. Same problem here.
My base station, which is newer, is working still, but the latest iTunes update knocked out my older AirPort Express.
I've tried many times to reset the Express with a paperclip but no results. After resetting the Express, AirPort Utility reads it through a scan, but when I try to add Express to my existing network it drops out and fails to reconnect.
I'm stuck with a flashing yellow light. AirPort Utility can't pick it up in another scan unless I go back and reset the Express with a paperclip and the process starts all over again.

Ringtone Maker not working after iTunes update!

Ringtone Maker was a great app to use for ringtones on iTunes, however, after the iTunes update a few days ago it doesn't work. Anyone know where there is another app or a way you can make ringtones from your iTunes Library? I don't know where else to look because most of the videos on youtube are from before the upgrade.

You still have to save the files to your computer.
Save the files to your iTunes ON YOUR COMPUTER
Open "Tones" on our computer iTunes
Select the ringtones you want
*drag the songs a little to the righta bar on the right should open up
*drop the songs to you device
(Just updated to IOS 7, took me a while to figure how to get my ringtones back)

Mail still not loading after Mavericks update

I've been waiting for an update to Mavericks because I hadn't been able to launch Mail since upgrading from Snow Leopard. (I use several Gmail accounts and the "All Mail" trick suggested a couple weeks ago didn't apply to me.) So, yesterday I downloaded the new version. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening; when I click on Mail, a series of information windows open - "Upgrading your Mail database…", "Identifying message conversations…", "Optimizing your Mail database…" - and then whatever window is displayed at the moment disappears and nothing else happens. Mail does NOT open. Still. I can't use an OS if it doesn't support an e-mail program.
Are others still locked out of Mail in Mavericks? More importantly, does anyone have a fix? Is Apple still working on bugs in this program? If not, I'm stuck at 10.6.8.

To see your user library, either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command
and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Mail.
If you prefer to make your User library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I have to use it again after every update. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

Disk Drive Not Working After iTunes Update

Every time i install or update iTunes my computer doesn't read my disk drive. If i put in a disk for music or a game or anything it acts as if its not there. How do i fix this?

HT4527 songs on iPhone will not play after iTunes update

I updated my Itunes software and sync my phone to Itunes and now I am not able to play about 200 songs on my Music app. I tried to resync but still run into the same problem and now those songs are greyed out in my library in Itunes. How can I get my songs back? They still show on my iphone.

I think I figured this out last night..
It looks like iTunes changes the way that tracks are grouped together. I noticed that I would always get the first track on an album, but the rest would be greyed out.
I went into iTunes, selected the entire album, and checked all the boxes around sort grouping rules, but left the contents blank. I could then sync everything for that album.
I've even gone so far as to select my entire library, check all the boxes for sort grouping rules, and now I don't have the problem at all.

Profile pictures not loaded after ios8 update

Hi, I've just updated to iOS 8 on my iPad, and upon opening skype, none of the profile pictures for my contacts have loaded. Since then, I have added 2 people as a contact and their profile pictures load up fine. Is anyone experiencing a similar problem, or have a solution?
So far I have tried rebooting the iPad, deleting the app,rebooting,then re installing. Still nothing.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
