  • Safari Plug-In Failure after upgrading Flash Player

I've got OS X 10.9.2, Maverick, running on my iMac, and Safari 7.0.3.
Today I upgraded Flash Player to 13.0.0.182 version.
After upgrading I starting receiving the error message "Plug-in Failure" in every page I opened with video broadcasting, such as Youtube for instances, and no videos would be displayed anymore.
I already reinstalled Flash Player, rebooted my machine, have all plug-ins enabled in Safari Preferences, but no success whatsoever.
Think the solution could be downgrading to the early version of Flash Player, but have no idea how to do that now, since the Adobe site only allows me to UPgrade and not DOWNgrade.
Could anyone help me with this?
    Many Thanks...

    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Test.

  • Plug-in failure after installing Flash player.

Having terrible trouble getting Flash player to work in Safari 6.3.1 on OS X 10.7.5
It all started after installing a beta version of Firefox... that seems to break the plug-in. I've since deleted Firefox and still have Chrome installed... Flash works in Chrome (independent Flash player etc) but I just can't get it working in Safari.
I've followed the correct uninstall instructions, visited a site, followed the "You need to install Flash blah blah..." installed it and then get the "Thank you..." screen but then just get a plug-in error message immediately in the same window.
I've got the Flash Player preference in the System Prefs window, everything is set up correctly but it just doesn't work and it's driving me mad!
Please help... I like Safari! Don't make me switch to Chrome!
    Thank you.

Ok don't panic, I've sorted it now... after more investigation it turns out Adobe have bollocked up Flash Player 13.x on Macs of a certain age (2006 - 08 I think).
Find the uninstaller and then find a download for version 12.x and all is well in the world.

  • After running Office 2011 for 1 year with no problem all programmes stopped working today. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and now can not even put in registration key. Is it  Security Update 2015-003 problem?

After running Offcie 2011 for 12 months with no problem, today I can not open any of the programs.
Have followed some advice forums but no resolution.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and now get the same error when trying to open one of the programs and trying to add activation key.
Updated with Security Update 2015-003 yesterday is this causing the problem?
    Running Yosemite 10.10.2

Me too. It has been 3 days since I have no access to iCloud mail. No matter I check it on iCloud.com, Mac, iPhone or iPad, the mail app says I have incorrect password. Specifially, when I check email on my Mac, the message below appears and prompt me to type in the password. I am sure that I've entered the correct password already.
The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “my user name”
Enter your password again or cancel.
Staying away from email for a day is OK, but definietly not for 3 or 4 days. Someone, please tell me what to do. If it has to do with the servers, Apple, PLEASE FIX IT ASAP!!

  • Fairly new battery not charging after not being used for a while

My computer (Elitebook 2530p) has not been used for a while, perhaps a month or two. The battery used to hold for over 3 hours of light use.
Now, the battery won't charge with the message "0% available (plugged in, not charging)"
I can't find a battery refresh utility in the BIOS, or any way to interact with the battery. Is there something I'm missing? Should the battery just go dead after not being used for a while?
    Update: fixed typo

I've run the HP battery check and got the code REOOW. Battery is dead, and I am out of warranty. I can't think of any possible reason why this should have happened.
What does this code (REOOW) mean?

I bought a used PowerMacPC G5. I can burn and read DVDs, but I can't read or burn CDs. The CDs are not even recognized. After the drive searches for a while, the CD is ejected without any error messages. The CDs work okay on my iMac.
I am running Mac OSX 10.4.11. According to the System profiler the CD/DVD drive is a "PioneerDVD-RWDVR-112D." When I compare the information under this heading, the only unusual difference from my iMac is that the G5 reads "Burn Support: Yes (Unsupported)." My iMac reads "Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)."
Under the System Preferences the options are set to "Ask what to do" when a blank CD or DVD is inserted. Music CD set to open iTunes, Picture CD set to open iPhoto, Video DVD set to open DVD player.
    Do you have any suggestions?

  • Firefox will run reasonably fast - for a while, I do have quite a few tabs open, They start out in background mode, but as soon as I access them it slows

My problem is Firefox will run reasonably fast - for a while, I do have quite a few tabs open, They start out in background mode, but as soon as I access them (to view or download from them) even if I close them as I go, FF will start to slow down and it isnt long before FF drops to a crawl sometimes taking MINUTES to answer a click on the file menu (example) no fancy benchmarks needed.
Having to restart FF and hoping your tabs come back for a temp. speedboost is NOT acceptable.
I have to restart at least 3-5x a day - anyone else think this is stupid?
I have 6 gigs ram, XP 32 only uses about 3.5 of it, 2.33ghz core duo, plenty of drive space.

I understand that after using Firefox for a while there are some issues with speed. [[Firefox is slow - How to make it faster]]

  • Getting slower by the minute, after reboot speeds up for a while...

I've read a coouple of similar posts, about the macbook getting very slow, but I seem to have almost tried all the solution suggestions.... I've used CleanmyMac hundreds of times, I've rebooted on the installation disk and tried the "disk utility": repair disk thing. I've downloaded ONYX and tried that. I've gotten rid of just about everything ecxept for the absolute minimum (Which tends to make the compter a lot less fun). I have hardly no songs on the actual macbook or images, or video files.... I checked out how much space was being used on the individual folders and found that the mobile applications and the library were using by far the most memory space, so I've cut that down manually to the minimum.
But still, after used the mac for a while it takes like 4 minutes for it to erase a simple text file, or to move one file to another folder, so I have to restart the whole system and then i speeds up again for a while.... but what could the problem be??? I have at least 20% of memory space empty at all times, if not 40%, but it no better..... any ideas??????
    thanx fraggles

    Hi,
I would first create another user to see if it behaves the same way and test to see if it's something with the computer, or if it's user specific.

  • Safari has a plug in failure

I'm trying to work on a shutterfly photo album but when I click on the link for the book the page changes, but then its blank like it never fully loads.  I can view pictures on other pages, but I can't work on any projects.  One time I got a plug in failure message.  It seems like there's some setting that's blocking content but I can't figure it out.

    Flash Player update?  Plug-in failure?
Wait until Adobe fixes the issue.
    If not, try this.

  • Unable to access BCM 2010 DB with Outlook 2010 after running compatibility pack for Outlook 2013

After reading about the Description of Business Contact Manager compatibility pack for Outlook at this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2793723 it clearly states "Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook is a compatibility pack that enables
Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 and Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010 to run in Microsoft Outlook 2010 and Microsoft Outlook 2013. Business Contact Manager for Outlook (BCM) also supports using Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 in a side-by-side
installation."  This link also states "General product fixes, including stability and performance improvements."
So, I was hoping for some stability and performance improvements but desired to continue running from Outlook 2010.  After running this downloaded compatibility pack it had little messages other than completed. If I try to run it again it says the database
is already updated.  however, now I cannot open the BCM DB in Outlook 2010.  when I try to connect to it from Outlook 2010 BCM it only opens a small window with no message, only a yellow exclamation sign.  It also won't allow me to restore the
    back up.
Can I undo what the compatibility pack program did to my BCM 2010 DB?
Now it won't allow me to restore a DB from two days ago. It gives this error "Access is denied due to a password failure. RESTORE FILELIST is terminating prematurely".  I know the password is correct.
Please help, anyone? Now I'm starting to freak out a bit.  I am going to reinstall BCM and pray.
I was able to restore the two day old DB by not entering a password. Odd since I know I backed up using a password.

  • Keep getting plug in failure on Adobe flash

Trying to print a card through American Greetings.  Updated Adobe flash player, but still getting a plug in failure and not printing.  What to do?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • Computer is slow after running flash

I'm running Flash player 11,8,800,94 with Firefox 23.0.1 under Window 7 Pro 64-bit (with all the latest bug fixes) on a Dell Studio 1558 (core 4 CPU)  and have this problem: After viewing a Flash movie under Firefox, my system slows to a crawl, while CPU usage (per Task Manager) shows nearly 100% -- even after I quit Firefox -- and even when I am doing only mundane things like opening a text file in Notepad.  Only re-booting helps then.
I followed these instructions [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071] to disable Flash protected mode. Not only did this not fix my problem, it induced a new one: After viewing 5 to 10 minutes of flash movies, my system would suddenly power off with no warning I removed the line "ProtectedMode=0" which I had added to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg and the sudden power-off problem no longer recurred.
So I completely uninstalled Flash Player and the problem did not recur--of course, since it only happens after playing a Flash movie. But then again I couldn't play Flash movies. So I reinstalled Flash player--the latest version, straight from Adobe--and as soon as I played my first movie, the CPU usage shot up and stayed up around 80% even though I was doing nothing! I killed the Flash Player Plugin from Task Manager and the CPU usage did not drop. Task Manager says that it's all going to ordinary things that shouldn't take any time, like an idle Firefox session and even 14% to Task Manager itself. Something lurking in my computer is making everything inefficient. It will be OK after I reboot, until I play my next Flash video.
By the way, this problem only happens after playing Flash videos through the Adobe Flash player plugin to Firefox. I played some FLV files using the stand-alone FLV Player from Applian (based on the VLC player), and had no troubles at all.
So, the obvious questions are, why is this happening and how can I prevent it?  I'm getting tired of re-booting just to get my computer back after each web site which pops up a movie.

My daughter had an ASUS netbook with Win 7 and it did this with FF and "The Sims 3". As soon as she opened the game or played a YouTube video, the fan would "kick up" so high that it sounded like someone was vacuuming the carpets. I updated the video drivers and that solved the game problem, but I had to "bite the bullet" and reinstall Firefox COMPLETELY (as in: I dumped her Firefox profile and mine from the HD). Reinstalled Firefox and suddenly we had a quiet netbook.
I use a lot of plugins in FF, and FlashBlock used to be one of them. I didn't reinstall it on the reload and it seemed THAT was what kept the fan from revving up so high with Flash videos. It was sending the Flash Container plugin to 100% when it tried to block Flash ads. I had tried disabling it before uninstalling FF, but it still pushed the CPU to the max, so a complete reinstall was all I could do.
