Safari 5 issue attaching Yahoo mail after OSX 10.6.4 update

I'm having a huge problem attaching photos in yahoo mail within Safari. Anyone else having problems?
It will update the photo then freeze I can not navigate within safari to another screen and I am forced to shut off.
I did update to Safari 5 and last night to OSX 10.6.4. I can not recall if I had attached a pic after Safari 5 and before 10.6.4.

HI,
If you have BrowserPlus installed that could be the culprit.

  • Issue with Yahoo mail after iOS 7 upgrade

Since the ios upgrade today, in the native mail app on my iphone 5, the spam mail is showing up in my inbox folder vs. my junk folder. On the internet, when I go to Yahoo, the junk mail shows up in the proper junk folder, but in the iPhone mail app, junk is dropped into the inbox with everything else.
Anyone else seeing this? Is there a solution? Thanks.
PS- I should mention I have tried deleting then re-adding yahoo to the mail app. I have also removed the mail app from the multi-tasking area to completely close the app and re-open. Neither made a difference.

So under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars - you have a Gmail account setup and you do not have the option to turn on or off 'Contacts'?

  • Running snow leopard 10.6.8,safari 5.1.10-yahoo mail keeps asking me to update my browser but there's no link. Does it think I'm running Mavericks or what;s going on. Have carried out updates

    Running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 & Safari 5.1.10
Problem is with Yahoo mail which keeps asking me to update my Safari browser but everything is up to date as far as I can tell. Have reset Safari & empties cache.
But no change- every time I go to open Yahoo mail it goes to a page with update boxes for Firefox & Safari asking me to upgrade but on hitting Safari upgrade box it just takes me to an Apple page that explains the benefits of the new Safari ( Mavericks maybe ) with no option to upgrade. Can anyone suggest an answer to this annoyance.
    Thanks very much,
    Dino.

Your post is pretty lengthy and I have to admit I didn't read it all. Please try restarting in Safe Mode, if that doesn't work please do both a SMC and PRAM reset. These may take 2-3 attempts.
    SMC RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    Release the power button.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM RESET
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Having issues with Yahoo mail on ios4 on a 3GS

Is anyone else experiencing issues with Yahoo mail on their 3GS after the upgrade to ios4?? Keep getting an imap server error, but gmail works fine.

Same problem. I have two Yahoo! Mail accounts. One stopped sending mail, while the other was fine. (Both could receive, however.) To solve that, I deleted the problematic account from the phone and reinstalled it. It worked... until I synced by iPhone with iTunes. Now both Yahoo! Mail accounts will not work, and deleting them and reinstalling them does nothing.
Apple had better fix this. (Or I'll whine louder.)

  • When logging in into yahoo mail after typing in password Firefox is adding something, login fails all the time. At yahoo mail Notepad does not work because it is impossible to close the list of items and they cover information, so I have to go to IE.

When logging in into yahoo mail after typing in password Firefox is adding something, probably remembered password and login fails all the time. At yahoo mail Notepad does not work because it is impossible to close the list of items and they cover information, so I have to go to IE.

Only when i go to a different browser (like IE) after i clear it , then all that shows up is the pages i visited in IE , that is what bugs me , why is IE browsing history sowing up in Firefox ??
Basically , i can clear the history in Firefox , and then for a example , go to Craigslist , using IE7 (launching it from a complete different Icon , in other words at that time i never open Firefox) , then after closing out , or even leaving open as it does not seem to matter , i go into Firefox , and hit History , and there is every place i visited in IE7 , on my History in Firefox

  • Unable to receive Yahoo mail after upgrading to iOS 5.01

Need help resolve problem on receiving Yahoo mails after upgrading to iOS 5.01

After upgrading to 5.01, I also am having problems with receiving Yahoo emails. Some emails seems to get pushed and download fine from the server. Emails with attachments will show up one minute and then disappear off the screen again. I know they are not being deleted because I can check them on my laptop just fine. When I do get an email to stay on the screen, it says "this message has not been downloaded from the server." At random times, yahoo will try to check for mail and say connection failed to server or something like this. This only started happening since 5.01. I have also tried recreating the account on the phone, but that did not help. Any ideas?

  • After osx 10.8.5 update the bluethooth is no longer available

After osx 10.8.5 update the bluethooth is no longer available. It is shown that no Bluetooth is installed it. In front of the update everything worked faultlessly on my iMac late 2009.

Try shutting down your Mac and then unplugging it (completely) for about 30 seconds.  Then plug it in and power it back up.
This does what's called an "SMC reset" and will often resolve issues around AirPort and Bluetooth hardware of this nature.

  • Safari/KeyChain Not Saving Yahoo Mail Login/Password information?

I have a MacBook Pro laptop, Mac OSX Version 10.6.8 and Safari browser Version 5.1.7  Snow Leopard. The problem is ... I recently changed my passwords on my Yahoo Mail accounts.   Safari will not prompt to save my login information for Yahoo Mail. It works with other web sites and worked with yahoo mail before I changed passwords.
My attempts to correct the problem have been unsuccessful. I have tried the following:
    1. Ran Updates
    2. Clicked on Safari > opened Preferences >clicked Auto-Fill all 3 boxes checked
    3. Finder >Applications > utilities > KeyChain     I found Yahoo mail and removed the old ones.
    4. With KeyChain open > Clicked KeyChain Access > Clicked KeyChain First Aid and Verify    No problems found
    5. KeyChain Access>  File > New Password Item>  Typed in KeyChain item Name as https://login.yahoo.com and tried mail.yahoo.com typed in Information and saved.
I have checked the apple sites, the only thing I have found is what I did in #2. the boxes were already checked.
May be I am missing the obvious here. If there is a solution I would appreciate the help. ?

I'm having the exact same issue with Yahoo only on my iMac after changing the password.  I've been trying to fix it since yesterday, and yes I'm updated.  I also tried several fixes for the trojan.  Not luck for me yet.
    Corrections Completed for Safari 5.1.7:
    1- verified all updates completed
    2- deleted cookies for everything
3- deleted keychain access for yahoo account. Interesting is that after deleting cookies and keychain, the username and old password keep populating but it hasn't stored the new password because I never received the prompt to store.

  • Safari 5 crashes with Yahoo Mail attachments

I just updated to Safari 5 and it crashes when I try to send a Yahoo email with attachment. My two other email accounts accept attachments with Safari but when I try to attach them in Yahoo, Safari freezes. Force Quit does not show that Safari is not responding but that's the only way I can close it. The type of file attached makes no difference -- text document, video or photo. Yahoo attachments work normally with Chrome. The other changes I made when updating Safari were those recommended in the June 5 Adobe security bulletin for Reader, Acrobat and Flash Player: I deleted the authplay.dll file in Reader/Acrobat and installed the 10.1 Release Candidate for Flash Player. (Also installed the 1.0 firmware update for the 27 inch display which should be irrelevant.) Yahoo Help only gives the duuuuh answer "Change browsers." Any suggestions?

Having same problem, so sent an email to Yahoo Mail Premium Customer Care. Here is their response (we should all be sending our troubles to Apple, as well as to Yahoo, since this is obviously a problem with SAFARI -- and, so far, Yahoo! does not seem to know this fact):

  • Firefox 16.0 and the last 15.0.1 I had issues with yahoo mail page turning fuzzy and an error message firefox is unresponsive. Page froze up and could not close

I signed into yahoo mail okay. what happens is after I open my mail the past two days all of a sudden the page would get fuzzy and I couldn't read anything or it would turn white. This never happened before and I looked at the top of the browser and it said mozilla firefox is unresponsive. I tried signing out and nothing worked. I tried minimizing the page and closing it manually and it would not let me. I tried deleting cookies and what happened it that the temporary files kept deleting for about five minutes. it was very upsetting. I have no idea what is causing this. Even when I went to control panel-internet options-delete cookies it sometimes went unresponsive. that's a first. any advise is helpful

Firefox keeps its own temporary files and cookies, separate from the ones stored by IE which you can manage through the Windows menu. If you haven't already done the following, please give it a try:
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove your yahoo.com cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these:
    * While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help at all?
When Yahoo goes blank or fuzzy moving to a different task, it may be doing some kind of animated transition. Have you noticed any graphics or font rendering anomalies?
Try disabling Firefox's hardware acceleration of graphics. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you restart Firefox, is the issue improved?

  • Problem with Yahoo mail after updating to 10.4.11

I have recently updated to 10.4.11.
After doing this, a change occurred when using my Yahoo Mail with Safari 3.0.4.
Before the update, when typing in addresses in the "To" window when composing a message, Yahoo would fill in any recently used addresses as i was typing. Even ones not in the address book. Since the update, this has stopped. Does anyone out there have any ideas as to why? Or how to reinstate this feature?
    Thanks!

    Thanks...
but i forgot to mention that the Autofill in Safari Preferences IS checked. That was the first thing i tried. But still no luck with the Yahoo mail. However, autofill does work with other sites.

  • Mountain Lion Safari doesn't allow Yahoo Mail address suggesting

Yahoo Mail suggests addresses as they're typed into the To: field, drawing from the list built in Yahoo Mail. I know this feature works with Internet Explorer in Windows, with Safari in Snow Leopard, and with Firefox in Mountain Lion. But it doesn't seem to work with Safari in Mountain Lion. Any ideas for enabling the feature? Apple Tech tried to tie Yahoo Mail to Contacts but I don't want that - because I also use Yahoo Mail in a Windows environment I'm resigned to having built a separate Yahoo mail list. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm the OP and I'm the one that listed the problem originally. I spent an hour with apple care and the genius level two guy suggested I wipe my whole system. LOL, for a 40MB app, yeah right. The issue with Safari 6 is javascript, according to yahoo javascript is turned off. If you try to change your classic yahoo mail to the newer version it will give you a javascript turned off error. So for whatever reason Safari 6 has javascript turned off even though it is clicked ENABLED in preferences. Crazy. I did find my solution though and that was to dump Safari 6 by giving myself "read and write" permissions and then dumping the safari chache, plist, and preferences files. Then I installed Safari 5.17 by downloading the dmg from the net using PACIFIST. I had complete directions but somebody at apple decided to delete the whole post.

  • Safari Crashing/Freezing with Yahoo Mail

I think this has already been mentioned but hoping Apple will do something about it if we keep bugging them.
Safari keeps freezing when I try to attach a file using Yahoo Mail. I have to force quit, even though it doesn't say that Safari's unresponsive.
Combined with the fact that Safari has also become very slow at loading pages, if they load at all, I've reverted to using Firefox. Thanks for the version 5.0 update, really regret installing it.

    HI,
I think this has already been mentioned but hoping Apple will do something about it
It's not Apple's responsibility to update third party software.
If you have BrowserPlus installed, it's not compatible with Safari 5.
    How to uninstall BrowserPlus: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/browserplus/uninstall.html
You can contact Yahoo here for that. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/contactus/index.html

  • Palm Centro Issue With Yahoo Mail Plus POP via Versamail

I have a Palm Centro and have been using Versamail for 3 1/2 years with my Yahoo Mail Plus account via POP. On September 12th I stopped having the ability to send or receive POP email on my Yahoo Mail Plus account. I have spoken with Sprint & Yahoo. I have done all the steps they have asked and I have even gone as far as replacing my phone with another Palm Centro and still have the same issue. I know the config is correct as it was working for so long. I can use my Gmail POP in Versamail fine. I receive the error when setting up the Yahoo Mail Plus account in Versamail when I click on "Test Settings" I receive the following... "Error connecting to server. Please check your network or server settings and re-sync." Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks.
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

actually some e-mail providers like yahoo free account, msn mail and free hot mail does not work with the mail application, as you told me that it needs to enable the pop server for such mail
and about the iphone are you sure that ur using the mail application in iphone, you must be using safari to browse through ur mails
yahoo mail plus is compatible with the mail application but it comes for a price so here you could either use safari to go through your mail or go in for some other free account like AOL which will work with the mail application

  • Safari sign in to Yahoo Mail

I seem to have a conflict with Safari 3.0.3 and Yahoo Mail sign in. If I quit Safari and later open it, each time I go to Yahoo Mail I have to re-sign in. This is on my master drive, on a slave drive with all the same applications, once I sign in it is good for two weeks. I have reset Safari, removed the cookies, emptied Cache, even deleted Safari and reinstalled Safari. I have even deleted Yahoo and reinstalled Yahoo, same problem. This problem is only with Safari on the master drive, Firefox is not effected with having to re-sign in each time Firefox is opened. I contacted AT&T Yahoo, they gave me some suggestions which I tried and contacting them after failure, they suggested contacting Apple since the problem is only with Safari.

when I open the Tiger installation DVD disk and open installation options I am unable to access a Safari option for installation. How do I access the option?
If you still have the Safari beta in your Applications folder, all you need to do is run the uninstaller that is included in the Safari beta download. The uninstaller will revert you to Safari 2 and its supporting files.
If you deleted the Safari beta, you can reinstall Safari 2 by following Apple's instructions here. (Scroll down to the section titled, "More custom reinstallation options with Mac OS X 10.4.")
