Safari 5 raises the CPU to 100%

The other day I updated Safari to version 5 and every time I open it revolutionizes the cpu. Looking at the processes that saw it was a PubSubAgent causing the problem. Looking on the Internet says it is responsible for the RSS sync with MobileMe but I have MobileMe. I delete the process but when I start Safari PubSubAgent reload and returns the CPU to be revolutionized. So far as a precautionary measure I have decided not to use Safari, I have eliminated all Mail RSS (was 4) and I've turned off all RSS Safari (which were not activated) but do not know how not to get that **** every time you start PubSubAgent Safari.
Please Does anyone happen?
Does anyone know how to fix?

It seems less efficient than version 4. I'm watching http://www.apple.com/safari/download/ for an update.
Seems fine in general on my XP SP3 install. Running good on Windows 7 as well.

Those MB's and CPU's are new and we don't know a thing about them yet. So far we know about as much as you can find by searching the web or other peoples experience with them. We are all users here same as you and if you are the first here using them and asking questions then you already know more about it than anyone else on this forum.

  • NI HyperTrend Control raises the CPU usage of NI Citadel DB and freezes it.

When a VI uses NI HyperTrend Control to fetch data from NI Citadel DB, the CPU usage of citadel is raised up to 10% and stops working.
I don't know what "stops working" means since my coworker told me so.
How can the control be prevented from freezing citadel?

    Best,
    1) Does the Trace VIEW in MAX work?
    yes with 3 signals(traces?)
    2) What version of LabVIEW are you running?
    9.0 SP1

    yes

Please refer to the attached image.
For now, if he wants to put Va/Vb/Vc in Y axis of a hyper trend control, he has to do it in the front panel.
He wants to put it in Y-axis via a property node in the block diagram.
    Is it possible?

  • Do I have to reinstall the system again after changing the CPU ?

    Hi !
    Today I replaced the old CPU  P3 650 copermine @ 866 mhz with the P3 1000mhz.
    The bus is on 133mhz.
I am not sure from where the problem is rising, but i am sure that before the change I was not having this problem. Now when I listening to the music , in time to time I experience some skipping or freezing in sound (very quickly) like when you are running out of memory or when u opening a lot of programs and the cpu loads 100%...something like that and this affect the sound.
Does anyone know if when changing the cpu, its better to reinstall the system again ?  Is it neccesary ?
    Thanks

The heatsing on this cpu in foxon. It is a passive heatsing. The working temperature is about 43 degrees celzius. Quite normal. the cpu is not overclocked.
I tryed to lower the bus speed from 133 to 126mhz and then I dont have thoose problems. Really weird, because with P3 650 overclocked to 866 / 133 host bus with a golden orb heatsing I had quite the same temperatures without problems.  I tryed also to raise host bus to 135 mhz , but then this problems comes again.  So now I am running a P3 1000mhz @ 950mhz on 126mhz bus speed. Seems that I dont have much choises. if I want to use 1ghz cpu on my mobo , i had to down a little bit a bus speed from 133mhz/33mhz (pci) to 126 mhz/31mhz (pci).
Can enyone tell me... what do you think : which configuration was faster:
    1. P650/100 mhz Oc to 866mhz/133mhz    - pci 33mhz
    2. P 1000mhz/133 mhz  adjusted to 945mhz/126mhz bus speed  - pci 31mhz
    Thanks for your replies.
I dont know how many it counts the pci frequqency. this frequancy is adjusted itself and I cant change it.
The PSU in a 450w newer one. Some strange sounds comes out of it. Also when it was brand new. I replaced it with the same one , but it is the same.
    Thanks for the suggestions.

  • XP mode on Win7 Pro x64, windows xp update/svchost pushes CPU to 100% in virtual machine.

Installed xp mode on a win7 pro, dell 490 with xeon cpu. The install goes without error, win xp virtual machine loads nicely, I do not enable updates at the config during 1st startup. When Automatic update is enabled later control panel shows svchost is
pushing the cpu to 100% and the update never completes.

    Hi,
    1. try to run XP in safe mode by F8
    2. then change Automatic update service to Manual or Disable.
3.boot XP into normal mode and see weather its still 100%.
    thanks
How do you start safe mode when running XP Mode in Win 7?  When you start XP Mode, the BIOS is hidden.  By the time the XP Mode window comes up, its already loading the Windows desktop.

  • OC4J_Portal Container consuming all of the CPU

This is something that started recently. I have opened a TAR, but no one has been able to figure out teh problem. We are running Portal 9.0.2.6.18 on Solaris and every couple of days the container jumps from < 1 % of the CPU, to 100% of one of the CPUs in the box. We currently have it divided into two islands - so sometimes it totally consumes 2 of the 4 CPUs in the box.
Nothing in the logs is useful, and even debug logs on the PPE didn't help. Anyone seen this before? Anyone have any troubleshooting thoughts?
I already have a TAR open, but no one seems to know what teh issue is.
    Thanks -
    Al

    Albert,
It strikes me that this issue will turn out to be either resource or patch related. If your systems ran fine for 9 months and then started exhibiting logarithmic growth issues I would suggest that this is a JVM resource issue. The most recent update in the associated bug states
    *** 06/22/05 07:33 am ***
@ Log file opmn/logs/OC4J_Portal.default_island.1 contains thousands of Broken
    @ Pipe messages.
    *** 06/22/05 07:36 am *** (CHG: Sta->11 Asg->PTLDDR)
    *** 06/22/05 08:00 am ***
@ Assigned to Portal DDR queue for additional diagnosis.
So it seems that you are experiencing communication issues, and as it states in the bug the issue has been escalated to the DDR team for further investigation.
My suggestion would be to continue to work with Support on this issue as they have the resources, manpower and access to development that you need to resolve your issue.
I'll keep an eye on the SR & bug for you to ensure that it doesn't drift focus..
    Regards
    Jason.

  • Problem - Playing media stops when CPU reaches 100%

    Hi,
I have a big problem, I use JMF for playing my videos and music for my video game.
But if the CPU reaches 100 % the playing media stops and if the Processor is in the state less as 100% it continues playing.
But windows media player continues playing for some seconds after reaching 100%.
Would it help to increase the Buffer with BufferControl or is this a problem for Java?

You can't really compare JMF to the windows media player because your java app is undoubtedly doing other things at the same time as it's playing your music and videos. Win media player just has to worry about playing the video/music

  • X200 CPU reaches 100 celsius degrees. is this normal?

I'm using LenovoThinkVantage Toolbox to do a CPU stress test and and the same time I'm running TPFanControl to monitor the speed of the fan and the temperature of the CPU.
When I run the CPU stress test the temperature of the CPU reaches 100 degrees celcius with the fan going at 7000rpms which all of it sounds excessive and not right to me. Is this normal? or there is something wrong with my system.
    Thanks in advance

100C is around the maximum the CPU can deal with before sustaining damage.  Even then, running at that temperature for extended periods of time is most certainly going to be problematic.
I can't imagine it was designed to be run that way, so I'm guessing there's a problem.  Maybe a heatsink is not seated properly, or something is obstructing airflow.  Either way, I'd say that if you're under warranty it's worth having the depot take a look.

Whenever I quit iTunes, the it pegs the CPU at 100% for 20 - 30 seconds. I've seen lots of people with CPU-hogging problems during podcast updates and ripping... anybody find an answer for this one?

  • Flash Player loads the CPU  to 80-100%. All browsers.

Hello. Flash Player loads the CPU of my computer to 80-100% even on slower flash applications. ALL actions of the FAQ tried. Problems are observed on all browsers (FireFox, Opera, Chrome). Video card drivers are updated, the player itself as the latest version. Windows 7 x 64, AMD Athlon II x2 M300, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570.

What is your CPU usage when you visit this page:  Flash Player Version
Do you recall if this occurred with previous versions of the player?  What do you see when you revert back to Flash Player 10.3?  Also, do you have hardware acceleration enabled or disabled?
How do I revert to a previous version of Flash Player?
How do I disable or enable hardware acceleration?

  • With many open tabs (80+) Firefox regularly (every 10sec) hangs for a few seconds because of session storing where the CPU is at 100%. Btw that is the reason why videos in Firefox are hanging every 10sec, too. Why is this operation so demanding?

When I'm using Firefox for a long time and I'm working with several open windows and many open tabs (80+), Firefox hangs/freezes every 10sec for 1-3sec. This is very annoying. The reason for this seems to be the session store operation, which gets executed every 10sec. In my experience (or rather on my computer) this isn't noticeable when I'm just working with around 40 open tabs.
This also seems to be the reason for hanging videos in firefox (although youtube is quite robust; others are not) because they stop every 10sec, too. For this time (the 1-3sec) the taskmanager tells me that firefox is using all the available cpu power. I'm really wondering why the session store operation has such an influence on Firefox' behaviour.
My computer is a Core 2 Duo E6600 with 3GB RAM and a decent hdd.

    Just some additional info:
I just had the problem again, and it even occurred when I did not have any tab open! I did not even use Firefox, but just wanted to start to use it, but it did not respond. There was _nothing_ open, and when I checked the TaskManager, the memory consumption was up to 300 MB, and the CPU was again at 100%. After the CPU was down to 0% again, the memory slowly decreased as well. First, to ~260, then to ~200, now to ~170 MB. Maybe it will decrease even further...

  • The cpu statistic up to 100% in NT and hangs the computer

    Hello,
I have an web based application that runs in Orion Application Server 1.5.4.
I use Sun JDK 1.3.1_02. This application is used by 100 users everyday. My problem is that after 2 or 3 days (more 2 days than 3) running the application, the cpu statistic up 100% even hangs the computer.
    The hardware is:
-2 based cpu Intel Pentium III
    -1 GB.
I start the application as follow:
    java -Xmx768m -Xms768m -jar orion.jar
I don't know whats happen but I try it in Win2000 and it doesn't occurs.
    What' the problem?
    Thanks
    Antonio

I can't use because the client can't use win2000.Let me make sure that the following is NOT true.
    1. If runs in production on the client site on NT and fails.
    2. You ran a test on Win 2000 and it didn't fail.
    3. And then concluded that the failure had something to do with NT.
The above is NOT true right? Because if it is then I would ask why you think that the test that you ran is indicative of the production use? And what else is installed on the NT box? Do the networks match? Is there any unusual connections in the production system? etc.

  • Safari takes up all the cpu..why?????

I'v got like 10 tabs open in my safari and it takes up about 98% of my cpu so the battery gets really hot. Even if I cut it down to 2 tabs it will still require almost all of cpu...
could anyone help me to solve this problem?
    thanks alot!

Not to be argumentative but just because it's well-known that Safari likes to hog the cpu doesn't mean that it's not a problem to be solved. I can solve the problem by NOT using Safari, but I'd prefer to use it because I like Safari better than the alternatives except for the problem with cpu usage.
This is a problem that needs to be fixed. I've tried lots of great suggestions that I've read about in this forum, but none of them have a lasting effect. The best that I can come up with is to restart Safari every once in a while -- not a solution, but it allows me to use the app for some time before it starts to hog the cpu again.
