Safari 5 screen layout problem: help

Suddenly safari 5.0.3 showed many pages (incl. apple.com) in a strange layout. All frames below the other and messed up fonts. The page becomes unreadable.
I reinstalled Safari 4.0.3 form my original Mac DVD (Snow Leopard) and the problem is gone.
Updating safari to 5.0.3 (downloaded from internet) brings the same problem back.
My other macbook and imac do not have this problem. Safari 5.0.3 runs perfectly fine on those.
Any ideas, or am I suddenly stuck with the previous version of safari on my macbook pro?

Thank you all for your replies. I have tried all your methods:
Checking the fontbook for duplicates and resolving this (found duplicates and resolved those).
Booting in safe mode and rebooting normally again.
Undoing the fontbook (removing the com.apple.fontbook.plist).
And I even resorted to reinstalling (with the help of Pacifist) the fonts from my OSX DVD.
The result is that now I only have one series of conflict left in my fontbook: Helvetica Neue of which I now have both a dfont and a ttf version (I have the latest OS X version 10.6.6) and I don't know which to remove.
The result for Safari 5 is however still the same. Firefox has no problems, Safari 4 series also not (when I revert to this using the original DVD for installation). Only Safari Version 5.0.3 (6533.19.4) has the problem.
Do you have anymore ideas? I like Safari better than Firefox and I was actually quite happy with the latest version until the sudden problem (cause unknown) happened. I hope I can solve it somehow.

Layout Problem, Help Need

I developed one custom Report, which will print on pre print stationary. Really Problem here is when i send to printer it will printer properly on 8/12 By 11 Page, but i don't what is the reason it is not printing on Page after 7 Inch, even i thought i increase layout width it dos't Print after 7 Inch on Page, can i know why it is doing like these, any clue, please let me know.
Report Verions : 6i
Main Section : Width => 8.5
Height => 12.5
Orientation => Portrait
Report Width => 80
Report Height => 90

You may need to contact support and actually show them the report to really solve the problem, but here are a few things to check first:
a) Check the report margins, make sure that they will allow the report body to display past 7".
b) Check that the frames and repeating frames are set to horizontally variable, or expand so that they can grow if required.

Organizer screen layout problems

Whenever I open the Organizer in PSE 7 I normally see on the left side of the screen the thumbnails for the most resent additions to my catalog. The right hand side of the screen is divided into 3 section from top albums, then keyword tabs & finally the section that has tabs to EXIF data,where picture is located on hard drive etc.
My problem is that I must be doing something wrong because the last section with the EXIF data, file location etc. disappears from the screen & I never know how to restore it.Is there some easy way to restore my old settings? Can the layout of the entire screen be altered & kept any way you want it?

Safari HIGH SPEED PROBLEMS HELP!!!

Hi, I'm new and my iMac is old.
Anyway, in early Oct. my high speed stopped working with Safari, Mail, and Software update. It is however functioning perfectly. My friend came by with her PC laptop and it works fine. My internet connection tells me I'm hooked up, my provider has concurred that there is no connection issues at all, yet when I open Safari I get the spinning ball and then "Safari can't find the server".
-When I hook up using dial up... Safari and everything else works fine (that's how I'm posting right now on my trusty old mac)
-Does anyone have any suggestions??? I really miss my high speed. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried many of the suggestions in the the Safari spinning ball thread to no avail.
-Could this be a hardware problem?

Hi. My ISP is Bell Sympatico Ultra High Speed with a SpeedStream 5200 ADSL Ethernet Modem.
I have... followed every usual re-set and sink for the modem. Disconnecting the power, restarting, clearing the cache, resetting Safari, reconnecting the modem... which like I said, contacts, authenticates, authorizes and connects to my ISP just like it always did. When I open Safari.... beach ball, "Safari cannot find the server" even though I am clearly connected.
Used a physical Reset button on the modem as well (did this with a Sympatico help person on the line, following their prompts)
Removed the Safari Plist from preferences and Safari Icons folder from my Library... restarted.. still nothing.
Yet dial up still works like normal, like it is now.
..and yes 128 SDRAM.
I know, I know... But, it still runs high speed (up until the first of Oct.) and more Ram is worth more than the whole computer... and yes, I need to get a new iMac, but anyway...

Screen Flashing Problems HELP ME!!!!

Hi, Im having problems with my machine.
My screen animation stops and then when I click on anything, the screen flashes every few minutes for no real reason.
I'm running
MSI KT6 Delta (newest flash update)
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
1 x 512mb DDR333
40 gig IBM deskstar Hdd
and a new Inno3d Geforce 4 5900FX 128mb 256bit 8x agp vid card
I have had the problem since I put my previous Inno3d Geforce 4 5900XT 128mb 256bit 8x agp vid card.
I thought this was the problem but swaped it for my new one on a temp basis.
Its still the same. I have latest nvidea drivers but it doesn't seem to make any difference at all.

Intermittent Screen Layout Problem

I have an intermittent problem, so far reported by only a few users on Win XP and Mac systems. Basically, I have a bunch of components inside a VBox, and the VBox is inside a WindowedApplication. What's happening is that for just these few people, the VBox doesn't fill the window (it's height and width are set to 100%). No clue why that is happening, or even what to play with to try to fix it. I can't duplicate it on my machine and the app is huge, so I can't give you code, I need some things to try.
One thing I did try after reading through the forums was adding this line to the window:
addedToStage="event.currentTarget.stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL"
That actually causes a similar behavior where the VBox doesn't fill the window. May or may not be related, but I thought I'd mention it.

Screen layout problem in 2004

Although I am using SBO 2004 I created a screen using screen painter in 2005 because of the way it handles pane levels. The screen is fine until the user maximise's it and when they click on one of the tab buttons the layout seems to go out of line.
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas ?

Hello,
You have to handle the click on the pan by adding the code to change it.
if you click on pane 1, you have to catch the event and then set the pane level of the pane
oForm.PaneLevel=1
For your second point, you have two posibilities, change the form border style (4 won't let them maximize your form), or you'll need to catch et_FORM_RESIZE event, to modify the left and top position of your items, following the Height and width of your form.

Problem with the browse sequence back and browse sequence next widget placed in the screen layout

Hi,
Some basics: We are using Robohelp 10 to generate multiscreen html5 output. We used the pharmaceutical screen layout downloaded from: http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/robohelp-screen-profiles-layouts.html but modified it to match our GUI.
We are having a problem with the browse sequence back and browse sequence next buttons placed in the screen layout from the widgets tool bar. We are in no way experts at this part of Robohelp...and the css portion of all this is a bit of mystery but we have managed to get mostly what we need. Now we just need these buttons to work. In the past we used Airhelp and things worked great. Can anyone help us understand why the sequence buttons are not showing up in the output even though it does in the topic preview?

Screen Layout Display problem

Hi,
I am facing a problem in SE51 where I cannot see the screen layout properly.
All free text is displayed and GUI is improper.
From the same desktop, if I access other server, I can see the screens properly in SE51
Any idea what should be done?
We dont have BASIS support here. Looks like a local system problem.
Please help.

In SE51 . Click on menu Utility - > Setting.
See that the graphical screen painter in checked.
Even after this you donot get to see screen painter ( graphical) then your GUI installation may be faulty.
You can still work in non graphical mode but its difficult.

safari is having problem loading messages in gmail. When using other browsers, there is no problem loading and viewing the messages. What is going on? please help!

I should have explained further. The game opens in a new window over to the upper left of my screen, leaving the original page underneath. I tried minimizing it so that I could get to my toolbar and did the View > Zoom > Reset. This has no effect. The lower portion of the game is still not showing. Using other browsers the window or frame of the game is much larger, therefore everything shows.

When I'm using Safari, acasionally the menu bar just disappears. I'm running the latest version of Lion and the latest version of Safari. This is not a full screen app problem. I have multiple windows open. This happens all the time! Firefox is fine! ???

Right, like I'm trying to say, THERE IS NO SAFARI MENU bar. Example: I have multiple applications open, I click on a Photoshop window, the correct menu or title bar or whatever changes. Every other application window I click on brings up the correct "whatever" bar. If I click on the desktop, the "Finder Bar" shows up.
Everythiing else, BUT SAFARI, works the same way since OS X came out. This is ridiculous.
I'm getting the vibe that Apple is trying to get rid of the finder.... this is the way wrong direction.

I am using windows Vista and having this problem also (not exactly, but iTunes gives pop-up that "files are in use"). Acting a suggestion from another answer in this thread, I clicked on Computer and selected eject...windows did warn me that the device was in use, but also gave me a CONTINUE button, which I clicked and it was ejected...had to go back to iTunes and eject the iPod there also, but it did eject

Safari screen turns gray on certain websites. Help!

Hi, everyone. This just started happening recently. When I go to certain websites (rollingstone.com, Yahoo Sports, etc), the Safari screen will turn a transparent gray color. When this happens, I'm not able to click on anything, type anything, etc on the website. Why could this be happening, and what is the fix? I'm on a mid-2010 iMac running Mountain Lion. Safari version 6.0.5. Any help is appreciated.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.
