Safari 6.0.2 problems with Yahoo Mail Classic "Compose"

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I have had two problems using Yahoo Mail “Classic” in Safari 6.0.2 (8536.26.17).
First when composing a new message, the Formatting Toolbar is missing.
Second, contacts do not appear as I type in the To:/Cc:/Bcc: address sections of a message, nor does the address book if I click on To:/Cc:/Bcc:
All Yahoo Mail features work correctly with Firefox & Chrome, it seems as though Safari is the only browser with an issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks in advance.

There's a chance you might be able to get it to work by enabling the Develop menu in Safari's Advanced preferences, then selecting Develop > Disable Site-specific Hacks. I don't recommend it, though. Just use another browser for that site.

Google them to confirm the settings that you need for the outgoing server, then check the setting you entered on the pad.  Pay real close attention to the outgoing server name, and port.  You may need to change in on the pad.

  • Is anyone having problems with Yahoo mail please ?

    Hi,
I am having problems with yahoo mail.  I have to log in and out a few times before the inbox will open.  Having eventually got in, it fails to delete.
So I'm asking if others are experiencing similar problems please ?
    Best regards,

    Hi,
This problem seems intermittent.  It was working OK earlier this morning but now I can't open emails, I'm getting the following error message "We’re sorry, but there appears to be a problem loading the email".
If I try forwarding the message to an alternative email address, as suggested on the Yahoo community forum, I get this error message "Yahoo Mail is having a problem retrieving the original email for reply or forward."
Has anyone got a fix, or even a workaround please ?
Can the mods help with this ?
    Best regards,

  • TS3899 problems with yahoo mail

I am having trobule with yahoo mail. I contacted ATT and was told the problem was between Yahoo and apple. does anyone has any other information on how to solve the problem?

Do you see an error when trying to receive mail? If not, then it is probably a Yahoo issue. They are infamous for having problems and servers going down in the iOS Mail program. Check with them.

  • Problems with yahoo mail on Mail

    Hello
I have configured Mail (Lion ) to get my mails from yahoo mail. It gets all my mails but the gear won't stop moving as if it is receiving mail. I have tried sending mails to myself and I get them, but it won't stop.
After a while a window opens and asks me for the password, I write it down but then again another window opens and asks for the password again and again.
I choose cancel and then nothing happens
And I'm still on the same loop.
Anyone can give me a suggestion?
    Thank you

Yahoo Mail has been down for certain times yesterday and also today Tuesday June 19, 2012.
There is a website called Down for Everyone or Just Me that you can check to see if there is a disruption.
I have been having problems with Yahoo lately, also.
They are having so many problems that it is almost not worth using.
I rely on Road Runner lately.

  • Yahoo mail tells me to upgrade Safari but I have the latest version of Safari 6.0.1  Is there a compatibility problem with Yahoo mail and Safari?

Yahoo mail tells me to upgrade Safari but I already have the lastest version of Safari.  Is there a compatability problem with the Safari 6.0.1 and the latest version of Yahoo mail?

Since Yahoo is web based email, the compatbility issue is on the Yahoo side, not Apple.
You can access your Yahoo account without having to use Safari.
Open the Mac Mail app. From the menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Click + to add your Yahoo account.

  • Problems with Yahoo Mail Plus

I have a Yahoo Mail Plus account and I can get my mail through Outlook 2007 without any problem, but I cannot receive (muchless send) any e-mail on my iPod Touch.
My incoming mail server is plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com and my outgoing mail server is plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I've deleted and recreated my account on my Touch, and I've deleted my account and had it recreated when I've synced with iTunes. Neither of these methods have worked. My password is correct and I know I've got a WiFi connection because I can go anywhere I like on the internet using Safari.
    Can anybody help me? Please???

    Try this:
1.) Go to settings (or if you don't have an account setup, just go to the mail app)
2.) Don't touch the yahoo icon. Hit "other"
3.) Select POP from the top 3 buttons
4.) enter your name, email address ([email protected]) and your password
5.) Enter the host name for the incoming mail server (for yahoo mail, it should be "pop.mail.yahoo.com ". Enter your user name (without the @yahoo.com) and then enter your password you use.
6.) Enter the host name for the outgoing mail server. It should be "smtp.mail.yahoo.com "
This was posted by a friend that said he got it working this way - I have not tested as I have no Yahoo! account.
Here is another set of instructions I found online - again, NOT tested by me.
    1) Open yahoo mail
    2) Click "options" tab in upper right corner
    3) In center column click "pop access and fowarding"
    4) Make sure there is a blue dot where it says Web and POP access, if not click there so that it does. You may also decide your spam choices here.
    5) Click "save" in upper left corner underneath where it says mail
Now go back to your touch
    1) open settings on the touch
    2) tap mail
    3) tap add account
    4) tap other
    5) tap POP
    6) put your name in
    7) add your yahoo email address
    8) it will show your yahoo account again as the description
    9) under incoming server mail host name, type in pop.mail.yahoo.com
    10) type in your user name
    11) type in your password
    12) under outgoing mail server host name, type in smtp.mail.yahoo.com:465
    13) type in your user name
    14) type in your password
    15) tap advanced
    16) under advanced make sure that SSL is on, authentication is set to password
and that the server port is 995 for incoming and 465 for outgoing

  • Since iOS 8.1.2 upgrade problems with yahoo mail via apple mail client

Since the upgrade to iOS 8.1.2 on my iPad I'm having issues with my yahoo mail account when using the apple mail client. I can send emails but cannot receive them. When I use the yahoo mail app there is no problem Sending or receiving. I have deleted and reinstalled my yahoo email account from the apple mail client. I have checked the wifi by changing between wifi hotspots. I have also restarted the iPad as well as resetting. None of these actions have resolved the problem. would appreciate any assistance that can be provided.

Do you use two-step verification for your Yahoo! account? If yes, you need an app-specific password.
If no, make sure your password is already entered in the "Outgoing Mail Server" in the Settings app.

  • I have owned my MacBook Pro for several months.  Initially, I did not have any problems.  Now I have a problem with Yahoo Mail.  I can open my account, but when I try to get at my mail, 2 out of 3 times I get the spinning ball that never stops.  Now what?

I have owned my MacBook Pro for several months without having any problems with it. Recently I am having trouble with my Yahoo Mail.  I can open it fine, but 2 out of 3 times when I try to actually open a message, the spinning ball comes on the screen and does not stop. Sometimes, I can log out or force quit and come back in to my account and use it.  Other times, I run into the same problem.  Any suggestions?

My new yahoo account nestles comfortably in iCloud on the mine iPad.
No, your Yahoo account is not in iCloud (which only handles iCloud mail), it is in Yahoo, and the Yahoo mail account is on your iPad.
But the MacBook Pro will have none of it! I write this question now as I fear that I will be totally demented very soon and unable to formulate my thoughts clearly!
Get the correct settings for your account from Yahoo and set it up manually.
By the way, I also find the "password" issue problematical. It seems Apple want my Apple password rather than my eMail password. All very confusing.
That would depend on what you are trying to do.

  • Problems with Yahoo Mail and Calendar on MacBook air.  Very slow performance.  Any ideas?

I have a macbook air running Apple's latest OS. My system is up-to-date.  Over the last few weeks, I have had a very difficult time accessing my yahoo mail and calendar.  I can access other sites, thus I know my connection is solid.  The problem seems to be limited to Yahoo.  I can access my yahoo account on my husband's PC without any issues.  To be specific, here are the symptoms of my problem.  When I try to open my yahoo mail on the Mac, I get the spinning wheel for several minutes.  I view my yahoo calendar through ical.  Yahoo is not connecting with ical, thus my calendar is empty.  I verified my settings and they are correct.  Also, sometimes after trying and retrying the calendar will connect.  I checked the web and did not find any info about this problem.  I appreciate your assistance.

I have been having the same issue. I can't figure it out. I have tried setting this up my yahoo calendar on my phone and my computer and my iPhone with no luck. It's definitely a Yahoo Problem. At this point I have become enemy to Yahoo Calendar.

  • Problems with Yahoo mail in Firefox

Hi, LOVE the Firefox 4.0. Since Yahoo changed their email to Beta, alot of my emails won't load, or links within them won't load. By "won't load", I mean the page is just blank white. I do not have this problem in IE or Chrome. Unfortunately, I don't like IE or Chrome, and my bazillion bookmarks are in Firefox. I tried clearing the cache and cookies as another support person suggested, to no avail. Any other suggestions? I really really hate to give up Firefox.
I have no other issues, only with my Yahoo mail accounts. I don't use Yahoo Messenger, although it's part of the email account, if that means anything.
Thanks for your time. : )

Perfect! It was so easy to fix.
I've had this problems for weeks now, and nobody - not even yahoo support has been able to figure it out. THANKS a lot!!

  • Problem with Yahoo mail after updating to 10.4.11

I have recently updated to 10.4.11.
After doing this, a change occurred when using my Yahoo Mail with Safari 3.0.4.
Before the update, when typing in addresses in the "To" window when composing a message, Yahoo would fill in any recently used addresses as i was typing. Even ones not in the address book. Since the update, this has stopped. Does anyone out there have any ideas as to why? Or how to reinstate this feature?
    Thanks!

    Thanks...
but i forgot to mention that the Autofill in Safari Preferences IS checked. That was the first thing i tried. But still no luck with the Yahoo mail. However, autofill does work with other sites.

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Problem with yahoo mail on firefox 30.0

A few days ago, a different (and apparently much earlier) version of Yahoo mail appeared on my FF 30.0 browser. It doesn't work properly but there's no way to change the settings. A link appears for "Switch to the newest Yahoo Mail" but it doesn't work. I can still use yahoo mail on IE, but not on FF. I've tried the usual fixes (opening FF in safe mode, disabling add-ons, clearing the cache, etc.) without success.

It's very strange. No, I haven't noticed any issues with other HTTPS sites. Yahoo mail is the only thing I've had a problem with since the upgrade to FF 30, and even that works fine in other browsers. Thanks for the suggestions.
