Safari 6.0.5 plugin failure x Flash player

Hello,
Two days ago I've opened my Safari 6.0.5 like I do everyday and suddenly I have the plugin Failure problem, I can't watch any vids on youtube or anything. I've been reading solutions for it and I did all the troubleshoot I've found, but no positive result.
I have Chrome and it works fine since it has it's own plugin attached. But I don't want to use chrome since I actually like this version of Safari, but I might change my mind in the end if I dont find a solution for this
> Uninstalled, Reboot, Reinstall. KO (Latest version @adobe.com)
> Unsubscribed from the HTML 5 thing from Youtube (seamed to work for 2 minutes, then next video on youtube. KO)
> Cleared Cahce, reset Safari. KO
Is there anything else I can do ?
I'm running my MAC on
Software  OS X 10.8.4
Thanks for the help guys

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

If you are talking about Safari on the iPad, there is no version of Adobe Flash for iOS and there never has been. Clear Safari, close the app and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you are talking about Safari on your Mac, you are in the wrong forum. But I would still clear the cache, quit Safari and restart the Mac.

Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.

Test while in safe mode. Flash won't work very well, if at all, but it shouldn't crash. Same problem?

  • Recurring failure- adobe flash player plugin-

Hi, I communicate a recurring failure appeared to me in my new pc (intel core i5-intel hd 2010 graphics - system windows 7 64 bits, browser firefox 6 and driver updated to 9.26.2011). In Firefox, it's like making the mouse scrool remain a fragment of the picture played duplicated and static, and continued below normal playback. Attached image to specify a little better. I must say that I have enabled hardware acceleration option for defect in adobe flash, and Firefox.
I tested with Google Chrome and the same thing happens. But only when hardware acceleration is enabled (in this browser is presented as an experimental feature that the user must manually activate).
I do not want to lose performance and efficiency in the reproduction of videos, and software for products high quality and modern. Will this damage my video card or monitor?
It's my first visit, thank you for your cooperation.

Thanks for posting, the screenshots definitely help illustrate the problem you're encountering.  Could you try updating your video drivers (Intel HD Drivers) to see if this resolves the problem?  If it doesn't, please follow the instructions in the following FAQ so we can gather additional details and investigate further.

Can you go to Safari's help menu and select the Installed Plug-ins menu item?  What version is reported under "Shockwave Flash" in the page that is displayed?

  • HT5271 Safari 5.1.7 not compatible with flash player plug-in

Hello I just got the 5.1.7 version of safari and also updated the flash player to the latest version, and all the time I get the safari freezing randomly in the web pages, I solved the issue by trashing the plug-in from the library, but of course I can't open the web pages that require it... What should I do, please help!!

    HI..
I solved the issue by trashing the plug-in from the library, but of course I can't open the web pages that require it.
Not sure how that solved the problem...
Sounds like there may still be an old Flash version installed.
Follow the instructions for uninstaling the current copy of Flash then reinstalling here > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
    Then restart Safari.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
If you still have problems with sites that stream Flash content, from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences > Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test.

  • Plug-in failure with Flash Player

Everytime I try to launch a video using Flash Player, I get a plug-in failure. This is happening on Safari as well as Firefox.

And Opera. Started with an update. Even Apple DVD player won't operate without it.

  • No Plugins! (like flash player)

A few weeks ago, I noticed that all of my safari plug ins (the ones like Flash Player and Quicktime Player, not things like Inquisitor, which still work) stopped working. Where there would be, say, a game or a movie, there is now blank space. I reinstalled flash player, with no effect. The installed plugins page claims that they are still installed. I was forced to switch to firefox. I hoped that the next update of safari would fix my problem, but the latest version, 3.1, did not.

Sorry, I should have phrased that as a question: What do I do to get my plugins working again?

  • Safari: How view video clips without Adobe Flash Player?

In OS 10.7.2 and with Safari 5.1.2 or Firefox 8.x  how does one view video without installing Adobe Flash Player?  On such websites as that of the New York Tines, I get a "Your System Status" dialogue box that says: "We're sorry!  You need to update your Flash Player."  A link appears in the dialogue box to "Get Adobe Flash Player."   What options does one have?
    Thanks for considering my question.
    Respectfully, NormN

Macs now do not ship with Adobe Flash installed. Did you buy your Mac with Lion or is your Mac the previous generation?  You have to do the installation yourself.  Click Get Adobe flash player.

    Hi
Safari-Preferences-Security-Enable Plug Ins is checked on ?
you've no Safari extensions enabled ? (remove them, restart safari & test again)
look in Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and Input Managers for any software that may interfere with Flash
also in System Preferences-Accounts-Login Items .
Failing all those - quit safari & move home/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist to the desktop
    also, trash home/library/preferences/macromedia/Flash Player/

  • My plugin for Adobe flash player on Fox states out of date -but Ive just installed latest 1 on my IE browser. Why doesnt Fox accept this & not keep asking me to update it?

Firefox can't accept that my laptop has now installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player - the plug-in states it is out-of-date & numbers the old one. Ive tried all ways to rectify this but nothing works... Fox still states that I have to update it...

Thank you for your interest. I'd been into the getadobe.com address & downloaded it successfully on IE. The problem had been that it hadnt altered the update on Firefox plug-in. I typed-in your link from Firefox, then it came-up on IE. So I went through the motions to download again & the tab stated it was going to be to IE. So I came out - opened-up Firefox again & got onto getadobe.com again, but on Firefox - downloaded it & it worked.... The plug-in check confirmed it'd updated to latest version.
So thank you, TonyE, if you hadnt responded, I wouldnt have realised that I'd to download whilst on the Firefox browser.

  • Can't install flash player 17 on Mac OS 10.10.2, Safari version 8.0.4, currently have flash player 16.0.0 installed.

After downloading flash 17 install and double clicking "Install Adobe Flash Player".  I get the agree to terms of license agreement window - below it is a Quit or Install
option with the Install option grayed out and unclickable.

After trying repeatedly, the download finally installed.  Problem solved, for me anyway.
