Safari 6.0 Colour refresh bugs

Hi just installed Mountain Lion and noticed some odd colour refreshing.
Take a look at www.plbconstruction.ca
it's an older site we made for a client. See the drop shadows under the house picture near the bottom of the page?
We usually make PNG's for that now, but back then we used JPG's. It use to work great with the older version of safari.
What's going on now?
Please help.

STILL HAVING THIS ISSUE only on OSX 10.8.4, Safari 6.0.5, on two MacBook Pros (2011)
do not have it on two Mac pros running 10.6x and 10.7x (or in any other web browser i've tested, including those running under 10.8.4)
on apapas.com I just completely tore the home page apart, colored Table (vs Cells), removed content from each Cell one by one and problem persists...

  • Safari big refresh bug on a heavy website

    Hello
    I'm a webdesigner and integrator. One of my last project has a big issue on Safari (works perfectly on Google Chrome, IE, Firefox) : www.agedordujeuvideo.fr
    The entrance shows up, but as soon as you slide after the 2d section, everything disappear. If you hover some active link, pictures blink.
    The website uses lot of pictures, some quite big, some PNG, JPEG.
    Tested on latest Safari version on both a Macbook Pro and a PC running Windows Vista.
    Thank you

    So I am taking an Online class this summer.. and I CANNOT use this website:
    http://health.discovery.com/national-body-challenge/interactives/tools/calculato rs/activity-burn-rate.html
    and I NEED to use the calculator that is supposed to show up! I have Safari 4 but I want to UNINSTALL it because on my mom's Mac (which has 3.2.1) it shows up!
    Summary: This website won't work on Safari 4 and won't work on Firefox, but works on Safari 3.2.1

  • Safari 3.0.3- refresh acting funny

    In previous incarnations of Safari, when I refreshed a page, I'd go back to the point on the page I was last looking at when I refreshed, in the beta however I always end up at the top of the page.
    Is this a common thing? Or an intentional thing?
    It makes browsing forums a bit of a pain
    -Thanks for any info

    Hi
    It's a bug in Safari 3 not yet fixed. Happens on most sites. Add your voice to the chorus by sending a note to Apple via Safari Menu>Report Bugs to Apple.

  • Safari Browser won't refresh on iPhone

    I am using safari on an iPhone 5S.  I am trying to look at a web site that changed within the last 12 hours.  The safari browser still shows the old web site.  I click on the refresh icon next to the url, but it won't load the new version of the web site.
    I go to the same website on my laptop and my wife's iPhone 5S.  In both cases, I get the new version of the site.
    HELP!!!!

    Alright. If it is displaying correctly on your wife's phone but not yours, it is not a Safari bug, it is something specific to your device.
    I understand your frustration, but using all caps to highlight something is not necessary. That is considered rude and yelling. I'm trying to help here. Also, I would consider it far from serious, just irritating.
    If the settings on your device mirror those on your wife's, then I would say if deleting cookies didn't help, then the next step would be a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. If that does not do it, the next step is a restore. You can restore from a backup first. Backup your phone, sync it via iTunes, then click on the restore from backup button. After that is done, see if that helps. If not, the last troubleshooting step is restore as new, or not from a backup. This will put a fresh install of iOS on the device, and without adding anything else, test the website. See if this corrects your issue. If it does, then try loading the backup onto the device again. If it will no longer work, then there is something corrupt in your backup that is causing this.

  • Safari 3.1.1 - Huge bug (pink style)

    In some pages, Safari renders images background, and sometimes foreground with pink color.
    Here's some examples:
    first, the images bug:

    http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/8991/example2ow6.jpg
    and then, the Safari himself:

    Any ideas? On Firefox or Iexplorer everything goes smooth. I've already uninstalled and re-installed but no good.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Frantic83,
    I noticed, firstly, that you're using Safari on a Windows based PC.
    As for the Pink Highlight, this is something you need to do in your settings. I've just achieved the same colour in System preferences, which is, click on 'Appearance', then in 'Highlight Color' click 'Other'.
    This will bring up various different coloring options. You can probably do the same in Toolbox, but my not being a PC user, I can't tell you how to do that. Hope this helps.
    Finally, As with the second reply, and only because you are using a PC, I also accept that it is an attribute peculiar to Windows as to how you get the drop-down history.

  • Safari 2.0 zip code bug?

    This is a problem I've started to notice on a bunch of webpages (including newegg.com) with Safari 2.0. Many times Safari will not let me enter my zip code into an HTML form field because it starts with a zero (like about half the zip codes in the U.S. northeast). Let us say my zip code is 02142 -- when I enter it in, Safair "autocorrects" it to "2142" after the control loses focus. Nothing seems to undo this, and I can't find any setting that fixes it. So the site I submit it to says, "Hey, that's not a valid zip code!" I've tried it with Firefox and Internet Explorer and neither seem to do this behavior (so I often have to leave whatever transaction I was trying to go through, open up Internet Explorer, and re-do the entire transaction -- all because Safari doesn't trust me to know what I want to type in).
    The HTML code from newegg.com which is doing this: <input name="zipcode1" type="text" size="4" maxlength="5" value=""> So it's nothing in particular about the form coding that I can tell -- it looks like Safari is just assuming that because I'm typing in a number, I can't possibly want it to start with a zero. Which is just ridiculous in a large number of contexts.
    Any way to turn this off? It is really getting irritating, and it's the sort of "application knowing what I want to do better than I do" idiocy which I think of being exclusively in the domain of Microsoft products. Which ironically don't seem to have this problem!
    NOTE: I am not using an Autofill zip code. I am just trying to enter it in manually.

    I can confirm this bug (isn't it irritating?). One solution is to use another browser; I've never had this problem in Firefox. Another would be to turn off AutoFill; even though you're not using an AutoFill entry, AutoFill seems to have this unfortunate effect on leading zeros entered manually.
    Next time you run across a page that won't take your zip code, click on Safari/Report bugs to Apple and send a bug report. Maybe if enough of us on the East Coast complain, someone will fix it.

  • Safari or Mtn. Lion Bug re: QT?

    Since downloading Mountain Lion (10.8.2), Safari won't play QT (10.2). I've tried this on several machines, which leads me to think it's a broader issue. One Apple technician told me there were unsolved bugs related to QT and Lion, and ownder if some of those bugs remain unsolved with this new release.
    Not sure what to make of this, since I find it hard to imagine Apple would sustain an issue that renders useless one of its basic programs.
    Is anyone experiencing this?

  • Colour Profile Bug in CS4 32 bpc Mode?

    This has been confirmed on both Mac and PC by different users
    (this topic was confirmed on another list before posting here).
    One may be working on an image that has a different colour profile
    than set as default in colour settings. For example, colour settings
    has Adobe RGB while the current document is in ProPhoto RGB. If the
    ProPhoto RGB (16 bpc) file is taken to 32 bpc mode, the status message
    reports that the file is in a modified linear space based on the input
    profile. One may then perform USM, for example and then return to 16
    bpc or 8 bpc mode.
    Here is the bug: Once the ProPhoto RGB file is returned to 16 or 8
    bpc, it now has the working RGB space tagged of Adobe RGB, rather than
    the original ProPhoto RGB as input before 32 bpc conversion. This is
    not just a tagging issue, the numbers have been converted to working
    RGB rather than the input ICC that was tagged to the image prior to
    entering 32 bpc mode.
    ICC tagged image operations have been divorced from colour settings
    since version 6, the document can reside in a space that is
    independent of colour settings. I can't recall other operations that
    change the files colour space and tag without user intention.
    If using 32 bpc edits, to preserve the input space, one either has to
    change their colour settings to match the document or convert the
    document to working RGB.
    So why this reversion to working RGB and not the document RGB - bug or
    design feature/limitation? Did CS3 work this way, is it only my
    version of CS4?
    I have searched the help notes, this forum and other Adobe support docs,
    however I could not find this issue documented.
    Sincerely,
    Stephen Marsh

    Can anyone post a supporting argument for the current behaviour (design or bug). While in 32 bpc Photoshop "knows" what the original profile is (it is listed as being in a linear state), while on default conversion to lower bit depth the data is converted to working RGB, rather than the document RGB prior to conversion (if different to working RGB). Am I missing something - is this a good thing, should this be behaviour be changed?
    OK, topic drift it is!
    Buko/progress, it is not so much bit depth in this case, it is gamma encoding - or lack thereof. 32 bpc mode processes in linear gamma, which can have an effect on some operations for certain receptive image content (tonal moves, USM, interpolation etc).
    As one example, some links to linear resampling can be found in the comments at this blog:
    http://forensicphotoshop.blogspot.com/2008/11/resize-smaller-part-2.html
    I prefer the 32 bpc route to linear processing rather than the alternative, which is 16 bpc and a hacked custom RGB profile set to gamma 1.0.
    I don't like linear USM for output sharpening (nasty dark halo artifacts). However, for subtle capture/acquisition sharpening linear USM may be preferred for certain images. I generally sharpen with blend if sliders limiting the intensity of the light halo, which comes close to one aspect of linear sharpening (light halo reduction). This can also be achieved by blending the USM in two separate layers, set to darken and lighten blending with reduced opacity.
    While on USM and gamma, there are some L* based RGB working spaces such as L*RGB or the new ECI RGB which behave the same way as Lab mode Lightness channel sharpening (when set to Luminosity blend). As the response of the Lightness channel is different to linear gamma and standard gamma encoded spaces, for some image content one may be preferred over the other as the processing space.
    I would still like to explore the original topic/post before submitting a bug report. How do you think things should work?
    Regards,
    Stephen Marsh

  • Colour pallet bug? - changes colour but then goes back to original colour.

    This seemed to happen randomly. It is on a blue colour and when I click on a new colour, e.g red, it selects it and you can see it is selected if you use brush tool you can draw in red, but the colour panel shows the original blue colour.. so it is difficult/confusing to choose the colour you want. Is this a bug or a simple mistake? Is there a fix? Thanks.

  • Safari 5.1 'Save Image' bug

    I have deliberately not yet downloaded OS X Lion due to the massive number of reported bugs, but I have installed the latest System apps updates, including updating Safari to version 5.1 (build 6534.50). I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
    Now, I notice I'm no longer possible to right-click a web-page image and 'Save Image As...' or 'Add Image to iPhoto Library', for images that were able to be so saved in previous versions of Safari.  However, I am able to simply 'Save Image to "Downloads"'
    Is anyone else having this problem?  Is there a fix, or do we simply wait for a fruther Safari update (which, I presume by the feedback on Lion, will be very soon)?

    Quit Safari. Open a Finder window select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Then open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder. Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash. Relaunch Safari. See if that helps.
    If not, could be a third party Safari add on that was compatible with the prior version of Safari, but not 5.1.
    Try troubleshooting.

  • Labview screen refresh bug (disappearing VI icons in diagram window)

    Hello,
    I have Labview 6 (fully patched with just about EVERY download NI offers on this site) running on a Windows NT 4.00.13.81 box. Since this is a screen refresh problem, it might be useful to mention that the graphics card is a ATI 3D Rage Pro (bought in 1999, driver versions 5.2.040, 4.0.0).
    I think I've ran into either a Labview or a graphics card driver bug, because the VI icons in the diagram window seem to disappear every time I move the mouse over them. Minimising the window and maximising it again makes them appear (if only someone had included a "refresh" shortcut in Labview I could even learn to live with this!), but the bug persists. Shrinking and reinstating the diagram window co
    nstantly is a reasonable way to work.
    I cannot remember for sure, but I believe this bug appeared when I patched Labview 6.0 into 6.0.2.
    Any help will be much appreaciated, this bug is frustrating and doesn't let me work!I really do not want to upgrade to Labview 7 either, as all my work is in 6.0.x and I have no time for major shifts in versions.
    Thank you,

  • Leopard iCal "Calendar Cache" subscription refresh bug persists in 10.5.3

    The 10.5.3 Leopard update does NOT fix the infamous Leopard iCal "Calendar Cache" bug, as discussed in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6660830 .
    This bug, introduced with Leopard, prevents iCal from picking up modifications to events on subscribed calendars. The workaround is to delete "~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache" and then refresh calendars. The file deletion can be done automatically by a login Automator script as suggested by a contributor to the thread linked above.
    This to me is one of the most embarrassing bugs introduced with Leopard. It has high impact (prevents use of iCal in an enterprise setting) while appearing to be a very simple bug and thus most likely very easy to fix.

    Hmm, I did not get the "Calendar Cache could not be moved" message when I updated to 10.5.3.
    The bug I'm referring to is different. It is a persistent bug in all Leopard versions to date. It prevents iCal from detecting modifications to subscribed calendars.
    For example, say you subscribe to a baseball-game schedule. The organizers decide to change the date of a game in the calendar server. But you arrive at the field on the original date, surprised that you are the only one there. Why? Leopard iCal relies on stale cached information EVEN WHEN EXPLICITLY TOLD TO REFRESH SUBSCRIPTIONS.
    The only way around it is to delete the "Calendar Cache" file and then ask for an iCal refresh ON A REGULAR BASIS since otherwise you don't know if subscribed events have been modified or not.
    Or, use SunBird.
    I don't think this has anything to do with the "file cannot be moved" error some folks are apparently seeing as part of the update to 10.5.3. That probably deserves its own thread?

  • Safari Landscape iPhone 6 plus bug

    AAnyone else have an iPhone 6 Plus; make sure Safari is closed. Put your phone in landscape mode and then open safari; it starts up in landscape mode. Do a search using top bar for something on Google; then can you actually click any Links?
    I find that until safari goes into portrait mode and then back; I can't tap anything on the screen. I think it's a bug; anyone else see this on 6+ (can't start safari in landscape on other iPhones. )

    I have noticed the same issue as soon as i turn the phone back to portrait then links work, hopefully it is something that gets fixed soon. Safari in landscape mode is pointless if you can't click links on websites.

  • Safari Update 4.1.2 Bug ? Copy/Paste URL

    Safari 4.1.2
    Hi all,
    when I copy a hyperlink from Safari's address field and then paste it into Apple Mail or Eudora it is not pasted as a hyperlink but as plain text. In particular, I noticed that URL's that do not start with "www" are pasted as text, not as hyperlinks.
    Doing the same with Firefox works fine, before the update Safari 4.1 also worked flawlessly (in this regard).
    I have noticed the same behaviour on all our Macs (10.4.11, Safari 4.2.1)
    It is obvious that this problem is related to the latest update Safari 4.1 -> 4.1.2.
    Thanks for all your suggestions how to fix this.

    HI Robert,
    Go to the Safari menu bar click Safari / Empty Cache...
    Relaunch Safari and see if that makes a difference.

  • App.refresh bug in CS5???

    Hi,
    I have this sample script:
    #target photoshop
    app.bringToFront();
    var dlg = new Window('dialog', 'test');
    w = dlg.add('button', undefined, 'cm1',{name:'ok'});
    var docRef = app.activeDocument;
    w.onClick = run;
    dlg.show();
    function run()
       docRef.activeLayer.mixChannels ([[100,20,-50,00],[30,70,90,00],[-10,-30,-90,00]], false);
       app.refresh();
    Photoshop CS5 closes the script if I press the button a few times quickly. If I wait a few seconds between button presses it works fine, which makes me thing that Photoshop can not queue the commands. With Photoshop CS3 however, everything is working perfectly, I can press the button as quickly as I like and CS3 just executes it one by one.
    Any way to work around this issue???
    Thanks.

    I will take a look at the mac crasher but it is a problem on windws and a problem in CS4 as far as I can tell. I would recommend you disable your button so the user can only press it once. Here is a modified script to show more of what is going on. On windows I am getting the script to stop for no apparent reason (the actual reason is a stack overflow). On mac my suspssion is that the stack overflow is crashing us instead of erroring out semi correctly! You can try all combinations of the two flags at the top to see the behavior differences. And you can really see how long waitForRefresh is taking so use it wisely!
