Safari 7.0 osx version save caches in the ram?

I can find the caches directory: pwd/Users/wh/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
But I also found that not all caches are saved here, because it's size doesn't grow along with the video playing by using safari.
Safari 7.0 osx version save caches in the ram. Is it right?

Yes.
If you have problems with Safari, you can delete the Cache.db anytime to see if that helps.

  • I would like to upgrade my OSX Version 5.8 to the latest version?

What do I need to do to upgrade to Apples newest version?

If yours is a PPC (G4 or G5) Mac 10.5.8 is as far as you can go.
If it is an Intel mac:
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
    or Mountain Lion:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion

  • I am having trouble downloading the new maverick osx version and now for the last 24 hours the screen is just greyed out. I am at an apple store in London and the staff are just as flummoxed with what is not happening. Help?

Please help me?  Nothing is happening on the screen and I can't do anything. I was told to come into an apple store as my home wifi was too slow an that is why it was taking so long to install.

Did you ever resolve the iCloud problem.I am in the same position and its driving me mad!!! If you have a link to an solution I would appreciate it.

  • Why do a change from one OSX version to another OSX version?

It seems to me that Mavericks OSX is NOT an upgrade.  It seems like it is a side-grade since I would still be using OSX, just a side to side change….  The first response noted that some people  have difficulty with iPhoto after doing a side to side change to Maverick.  I use iPhoto all the time, don't want any problems with that… and another said that the Time Machine backup no longer worked after the change from OSX (Mountain Lion_ to OSX Mavericks)…  That is my backup program and I certainly don't want any problems with that.  So my ? remains…. why do a side to side change from one OSX to another OSX version???  The answers received are not answering that ?.
Your replys and comments are appreciated.

    The reasons for upgrading are:
    - Security (there are a myriad of behind-the-scenes security improvements, and some foreground improvements in programs and system services)
    - Service compatibility (ie, syncing services like iCloud)
    - Application Compatibility (as programs develop, they will drop support for prior versions of OS X).
    - Latest and greatest features, if you find them useful.
    - Hardware compatibility, with peripheral devices that may no longer support an older version of OS X.
OS X is not just "OS X" with a bunch of peripheral changes to it. There are a number of under the hood enhancements and changes that have fundamentally altered the OS from one version to the next over the years, be it from the kernel all the way through how accounts are handled, to how background services are run and otherwise managed. Granted from one version to the next is sometimes not as significant of an upgrade, but for the most part there are significant changes. In OS X Mavericks, Apple has added major changes to memory and process management, which offer potential to greatly increase battery life, and/or reduce power consumption and wasted CPU cycles.
Of course, with any upgrade you will get the potential for drawbacks, such as initial break-in hiccups.

  • Where from to download older OSX version (10.9)?

    Hi.
I just bought a new Mac. Thrilling...
    It comes with Yosemite,
however my studio driver (UAD) support still older version only (10.9),
so I need to downgrade my OSX version.
What is the recommended download link for older OSX version (latest 10.9).
I can't find a legit link through Apple site.
    Regards,
    Booli.

Ok, according to this link, the 2013 Mac Pro OS X version is 10.9
    Mac Pro (Late 2013)
    Dec 2013
    10.9
    10.9.2, 10.9.4
    13A4023, 13C64, 13E28
So where can I achieve one of these specific builds..?

No, I get my mail on my computer, not on a website. I used to be able to see the information but in sorting another issue I must have changed a setting or something. I have gone to View. Under Message Attributes most things are ticked but many of them are not bold print i.e. they are pale grey. I don't know how to activate them again.

  • I have Mac Book Pro osx version 10.6.8 if I download Lion will it upgrade my safari?

I have Mac Book Pro osx version 10.6.8 if I download Lion will it upgrade my Safari?
    Thanks

The most recent Safari version for Mac OS X is 5.1.7, and the most recent Safari version for Lion and Mountain Lion is 6.0.2, so Safari will be updated.
To upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion, see > http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade

  • My friend says:I can open Safari OK, but as soon as I try to open Google, Safari shuts down. It either does so immediately, or once I type an address or search name into Google.Mac OSX version 10.3.9, and Safari 1.3.2

On behalf of a friend (who obviously cannot get on-line):
I can open Safari OK, but as soon as I try to open Google, Safari shuts down. It either does so immediately, or once I type an address or search name into Google. The systems no longer seem to be compatible. All was well until about three weeks ago. I've pressed the Safari Reset button several times to try that, to no avail.
The operating system is Mac OSX version 10.3.9, and Safari is 1.3.2.
Is there a solution? He does say his iMac is old and the OS antedeluvian
    Would welcome any thoughts!
    B

Sorry to say it, but he is correct!
Solution? Either update the OS and Safari if possible, or start saving!

  • Safari 3.1.1 doesnt recognise my OSX version correctly

I am running Mac OSX 10.5.3
Was having too many bugs with safari so did a hard delete of the safari plists as well as the actual application and the safari folder
i then downloaded the update safari 3.1.1 for leopard. I can mount the disk but when i attempt to install the new safari it comes up with the message "you require osx 10.5.2 or above to install this"
So basically the installer isnt recognising my version of leopard? Any tips as to what i can do as i am using firefox as we speak in order to get this point in?
    Many thanks

    in Pacifist
open the safari 3.1.1 for Leopard package
    select the resources tab
select the safari311updleo.pkg & expand the view using the arrow at left.
Select Payload & Extract it to the desktop or anywhere.
now drag that same file back onto Pacifist
you should find it opens with a list of the in folder hierarchy & you can just extract the application you're missing.
all above works on tiger ( yes, with the leopard package )
    possible problems are
1: the 'install' scripts might modify the safari app in some way, & make other system changes which won't happen doing it this way.
2: the Update may really just be an update & not contain every file that was in the real safari application package ( being 52.5MB, I suspect it is complete, but I can't test it being on 10.4.10
umm, make a backup first in case this breaks anything.
    edit ----
the installer uses the 'distribution' file mentioned to make it's pre-install checks; it contains
    // 10.5.2 only
    if(0 != system.compareVersions(my.target.systemVersion.ProductVersion, '10.5.2')) {
    my.result.message = system.localizedString('ERROR_OS');
    return (false);
which sounds like it was written to allow 10.5.2 only, rather than 'or later' like the error message says.
which makes sense, in that it seems 3.1.1 was part of 10.5.3 ? (certainly of the combo ) so it's just the error message that's wrong, I think.

    Hello,
There are no files like that in that folder (com.apple.safari).  They all have long numbers with .jpeg or .png at the end.  That's what I meant by I cannot find any files like those mentioned in all the helps I read today.  BTW-it's still crashing - no particular pattern to it at all.
The only two things I have downloaded recently is a new version of Flash and a Mac-driven update to Office.
Thank you very much for your attempt to help us.
    J.

  • Safari doesn't upgrade from 5.1, even though I use fully updated Mac OSX version 10.6.8

How do I get Safari to upgrade beyond version 5.1.10?  I have fully updated software, and my OS is OS X, 10.6.8.
My old Safari version is no longer being supported by some websites.  Searching the internet, I saw that I should re-install the OS X.  I did that, and didn't work. Please help.

You need to upgrade the OS past 10.6.8 to get a newer Safari version. Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data before upgrading. Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

  • I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 running Safari  5.1.9 I have a problem loading VistaPrint website I am currently building. All worked until I updated Safari with this latest version and now I am sorry I did. I have not found issues with any other website.

I had to download FireFox to be able to access my website in VistaPrint. I have cleared cache, both thru Safari and thru Finder by moving this cache to trash ~/LIbrary/Caches/com.apple.Safari
I have set IPv6 to off, rebooted too many times to count, and I still can not access my VistaPrint website. What is going on here??? I am so mad that I upgraded to this version, and am annoyed that this problem just came up and I cannot find a resolution to it after searching tons of forums and doing ALL they suggested. Can any one help???

Safari 5.1.9 and Java 6 are the latest versions available for OS X 10.6.8. To upgrade any further you would need to upgrade to Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8.4) through the Mac App Store.

  • How do i reinstall Safari for mac osx 10.7.2?

I updated my Safari from 5.1.3 (I believe) to the latest Safari 7 (I believe). When I tried to open it, it said I needed to update my osx, which I don't want to do. Now I can't seem to go back to the Safari I had. I've tried installing version 5.1.1, but it says I need to have mac osx 10.6. My osx version is 10.7.2 and don't want to upgrade yet, but how do I get Safari back, and which version of Safari works in osx 10.7.2?
What happened is not fair because when I was installing the new version of Safari, there was no warning about which osx I needed. Only after it replaced the old version did it say that I can't use it with my current osx. Is that Apple's way to force you to upgrade to the latest osx? Not fair! How can I reinstall Safari now?

On a Mac running v10.7.2, the only way to reinstall Safari is to reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery.
Safari 5.1.1 is for Snow Leopard. It will not run on a Mac with v10.7 installed.
