Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) Repair Disk Permissions 2x. Then restart in Safe Mode and try both apps. Restart normally and post results.

    Hmmmm... would appear that you need to be actually logged in to enable the additional menu features.
    Have you tried deletting the plists for MAS?

    I have an iPhone 4S that I updated to iOS 6 while traveling in Brazil.  Now, even though my Apple account was created in the U.S. tied to the U.S. App Store, when I open the App Store it automatically goes to the Brazilian App Store and pops up an error message that my account is invalid for use in the Brazil App Store because it is an American account.  I've been using the App Store just fine for years from various countries as I travel.  It has always gone directly to the U.S. App Store regardless of where I am in the world.  Now it only seems to pull up the Brazilian App Store and not allow me to update apps or make purchases.
    My question is has anyone else experienced this?  Is it because I updated to iOS 6 while physically traveling in Brazil so the phone thinks it is a Brazil-based phone or is it a bug in iOS 6 that prevents you from using App Store while outside the U.S.?  I haven't been able to test what it does when I'm in the U.S. as I haven't returned yet.  All of my settings on the phone are in English and set up for U.S. settings - there's no setting in the phone set up for Brazil or the Portuguese language.
    If this is because I installed iOS 6 while in Brazil, how do I fix that?  Do I have to re-install iOS 6 while in the U.S.?  If so, how do I trigger a re-install and what do I do in the meantime to use App Store while traveling?  Is there a work-around that allows me to switch it from the Brazil App Store to U.S. App Store?  The error message I receive indicates that I need to change to the U.S. App Store in order to install apps but doesn't mention how to do that, as there don't appear to be config options in App Store.
    Any help would be appreciated..

  • Is anyone else having issues getting screensavers and the lock screen to work after installing Mavericks?

    I recently installed Mavericks and now my computer refuses to lock after sleep. Instead of a box that asks for a password to access the computer again, it just opens up back to where it was before sleep. In fact, I can't even get my screensaver to work. I have the screensaver set to one minute (to attempt to get it to work) and it wouldn't even come on. The sleep/lock screen is set to ask for password as soon as it's woken. Same goes for when I open my laptop after it's last use. No password, just instantly on. Is anyone else having this issue? If so, how can I fix it? Thanks!

    It actually makes sense, but I had the 'bouncing camera' problem and never thought of the 'slide'..

    In the University network..university of Adelaide australia..network(eduroam)
    after i setup the proxy in the Wifi connections..only safari and App store is working..MAIL,MAPS,WEATHER, Youtube or any other internet access apps such as instant messengers are not working...
    there is nothin wrong with the device because @ free wifi hotspots evrything works fine..

    If I understand you correctly, the iPod Touch is working fine at wi-fi spots except for your university. If some apps work there, but others do not, I would suspect that some ports are being blocked. I know that at my local mall, I can access the web via browser, but they have blocked the email ports, so I can't use the mail client.
    I find it hard, though, to believe that the university would block the email port(s), but I would suggest that you talk to the IT department there to see if that is the case.

About a minute later it asks me for my password and then it does nothing. The install button goes back to saying install. However the app shows up in my installed list and in cloud but no app installed.

    OK - I found a helpful post - closed app store app and under Settings/General/Date and Time I reset the date and time by switching off "Set Automatically" and then switching it on again. Went back to App Store, launched it and Updatesseems to be working again.
    Go figure? Logical, No!

    Hi, I've just downloaded the latest operating system upgrade OSX 10.6.8 and now Safari and App Store crashes upon openning. Is anyone else having this problem?

    It's not wrong, but just occasionally things don't get updated perfectly. Sometimes on this forum, after an OSX point update, people report various issues. Re-applying the update using the combo very often fixes things. The combo contains all the updates since the original release.
    Edited to add - I see it looks like it fixed things, great!

    After upgrading Safari to v5.1.4 earlier today I've noticed that the Safari and App Store icons on the dock are pixelated, i.e., low resolution.  Has anyone else seen this problem?  The Disk Utility icon also shows the same behavior.

    Might be corrupted preferences...
    Go to ~/Library/Preferences
    Move the com.apple.dock.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.
    ~ (Tilde) character represents the Home folder.
    For Lion:   To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library

    I got a question. I just bought an iPhone yesterday (before this I had Blackberry, but it broke for the second time already). All things work, got my apps installed and stuff like that. Now the problem is:
    Whenever i am NOT on Wi-Fi but i'm on the mobile network there is a problem. I can not connect to the App Store, Safari or YouTube. In YouTube and App Store I get an error message that it can not connect. But in Safari it loads for two seconds, finishes loading but the page stays white (it doesn't matter which site I try to open).
    Is anyone familiair with this problem? A lot of people say that it is the network settings. But may i add: i STILL can acces Twitter, FaceBook and stuff like that. Also WhatsApp works normally. Only Safari/App Store/YouTube won't under 3G/GSM network.

    Oh BTW. I bought an iPhone 4, 16 GB. It is new and running OS 5.0.1 (I updated).
    Some of the solutions I tried:
    - resetting network settings
    - resetting all settings
    - resetting the whole phone (to the point as I bought it just two seconds ago)
    - resetting (the home button, lock button method)
    - putting in the network settings manually

    I did try that one. But for some reason it still does not help. The strange thing stays that I can acces Twitter and other Apps. But still nos Safari/App Store. Only when I am on Wi-Fi.

    I have the same problem with my New iPad. 
    It was fine until this afternoon when I upgraded to ios6.
    I don't have the wifi issues that others have reported but my AppStore doesn't work anymore.
    It's just the AppStore that won't work.
    Though Purchased and Updates looks OK, "Featured," "Charts" and search all return no results - just a big gray screen in the middle.   I've been walked thru a Restore by Support but nothing's worked so far.  I've tried logging off and logging back on.
    From what I can tell, everything else (iTunes, apps, etc) look ok.
    Any other suggestions?

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1

    If you are getting an 'invalid security code' message then is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
    If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorizations have the correct information on file.
    And/or try contacting iTunes support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Express Lane, then iTunes > iTunes Store
