Safari and my bank website

hello,
I am currently using a OS X 10.4.2 (up to date as of saturday september 24) on my 1.8ghz imac. whenever i try to log into my bank website to check my balance, each time i do so, i am told "Your current session has expired. Press the 'Exit' button above to exit. NOTE: This may be caused by reloading or resizing your browser window.  Some browsers do not support window resizing in a secure session."
this happens everytime i try to log into my online bank account. i used to be able to log in previous to using tiger (been using tiger a week after it came out) but since the upgrade, the above message is all i get. using camino, firefox, icab, shiira and omniweb log me in just fine. i have not messed with safari settings, nor have i resized my browser window at all (or at any time).
anyone have an idea whats going on? i would love to get this problem corrected as i am military and in the field 4 days out of each week and need to have 24 hour access to my account for day to day business and for emergency situations. is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Hi Ryan,
is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Who is the bank in question? Since I'm not based in the US it's unlikely I'll be able to help but at least other posters can confirm/deny they are having problems with your bank.

  • Safari kicks me out of ebay after i login and my bank website???

Safari kicks me out of ebay after i login and try to go to myebay or leave feedback. It asks me to login again and when i do the same thing happens. Same with my bank website too. It wont remember that i logged in even after i checked the box to remember my username. What is wrong with this?

    HI,
First, go to Safari/Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Make sure; User names and passwords is selected.
Now, open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities). Select Passwords on the left.
Right or control click: "Safari Forms Autofill" and both your "Apple ID" keychains. Then click Delete. Quit Keychain Access
Relaunch Safari. Click Login. Type in your username and password. When prompted, click: Yes.
You may also need to empty the Safari cache. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Reset Safari.

  • Safari and Internet Banking

    Hi there,
Ever since 10.3.9 update, i realized that my safari has been having troubling with my internet banking. Logging in is just fine, everything pops up fine. But once i click on the navigation bar on the left, the screen jumps to the e.g bill payments WITHOUT the navigation bars. So I cant navigate anymore from this point onwards. Just the website security times-out. I never had this problem before 10.3.9
Is it something to do with Java 1.4.2 ?
I have delete the whole safari and also tried out the solution from Apple Knowledge Based, and then download the safari and then update the 10.3.9 again. Didnt work.
I can't afford to upgrade to Tiger at the moment, if that solves the problem.
Does Safari has problem wit Microsoft Exchange Servers ?
Because i noticed recently, i have the similiar navigation problem when i log on to my university website , where the navigation bar dissapears when i move on to the next screen.
Hope some one can help. Last few months being away from home, I had to resort to find a windows computer to do my banking and check on my lecturers via the web.
    Thanks.
    regards,
    Siva

    Hello Freelancer:
Unfortunately some web developers do not write code to standards - worse yet, they occasionally use Microsoft (IE) specific extensions. I always inform the web sites in question that there are problems - some fix them, some do not.
What bank do you use? There are many banks that have excellent web sites that work well with Safari. I personally use Bank of America, but I do not know where you are located so I cannot advise further.

  • Some images do not display in browser, iPad Air 2.  When I load a page with several jpgs (one 1920x720, then 8-10 800x800px), only the first few are shown.  Behaviour is similar for Safari and Chrome. Website issue or iPad?

I have just bought an iPad, partly to check that my websites work OK on mobile devices.   When I load a page with several jpgs (e.g. one 1920x720, then 8-10 800x800px), only the first few are shown.  If I remove the large one, that sometimes fixes the problem. Behaviour is similar for Safari and Chrome. Is this a website issue or iPad?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.  I'm using a new Wordpress theme that is meant to be responsive.  The large image is for a header, than you scroll down to see the rest, one by one.  Some one the pages work OK on my iPad, typically the old ones where the maximum image size was 500 x 500.  It's the new pages and those I've updated that are causing the problem.  On the iPad the large image loads, then a couple of the small ones become visible as I scroll down, but then darkness (rather like my knowledge level).
Being new to IOS and iPads, I'm trying to work out whether I should be looking here, or amongst the Wordpress stuff for a solution.
Here's the website with its new theme: http://www.new-zealand-pictures.com/

  • Can't open pdf files in Safari browser windows (bank website window) after I installed Adobe Reader 11update on my Mac last night

I previously had Adobe Reader 9, which worked perfectly.

Here's EXACTLY what happens:  I am in a Safari browser website and try to open a pdf file (my bank statement).  When I click on the link I get this message in a black window: "Adobe Reader.  Before viewing a PDF file in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser."  So I launch Adobe Reader but there is no End User License Agreement to accept.  I have done this several times with no result.  I am using a MacBook Air with OS 10.9.4 and Safari 7.0.5.

  • Safari and Key Bank Online banking

In the past month I have noticed that Safari crashes whenever I am in online banking section of Key Bank trying to open a pdf file of my statement. I sent Key Bank a message and found out that Key Bank is NOT supporting Safari! Now why is this? It seems to me that this is a poor business decision especially because Safari is the browser of choice for all Macs and the NEW iPhone.
This is the message they sent back to me:
"There are several browsers that are not supported by our Online Banking
service. As a result, anyone using an unsupported browser may
experience difficulties using some or all of the Online Banking
services. We have provided the list of unsupported browsers below:
    1. AOL lower then 7.0 All AOL versions lower than 7.0 are no longer
    supported
    2. Opera Browser - Not Supported
    3. Internet Explorer & Netscape versions earlier than 5.0 - These
versions do not support 128-bit encryption
    4. Safari - Not Supported
    5. Avant - Not Supported for Windows
    6. Cello - Not Supported for Windows
    7. Camino - Not Supported for Mac
A review of your message showed that you are using the Safari browser,
which is not supported by our Online Banking service. As a result, you
may no longer be able to use the on-line statement feature. So we may
obtain additional information to provide additional assistance, please
contact the online Banking Service at 1-800-539-1539."

I will have to try another browser as I have no choice if I want to do online >>banking.
Thats is a lot they aren't supporting, goodness Camino is a mozilla browser. One other choice perhaps, consider change banks?
Good luck, I hope Firefox works for you.
    Happy 4th.

  • Safari and Online Banking

When is Safari going to join the 21st century?
As IE has fallen off its perch - When will I be able to go on line to my Natwest bank account?
I've aired this subject before but Sofari not a peep out of Safari.
It is astounding that nothing has been done by Safari to rectify this problem which of their making.
    cheers
    Steve Hill

When I contacted The Natwest Bank they told me that they had contacted Safari about the problem. It seems that Safari retains confidential information when the Natwest custumer logs out that IE and others do not retain, and until Safari changes that state then Natwest cannot/will not allow customers to be put at risk - and also themseleves no doubt.
I have been told before that Firefox seems to be fine as is Mozilla (spelling?) but why should I move from Safari - may be I should move - in fact at some point I shall move if Safari cannot/will not solve the problem.
I find it a bit much that IE works but not Safari. I bet if Jobs had his account at Natwest the problem would have been addressed - 26.
    Cheers

  • Safari and Snapfish (photo website)

Having trouble downloading software to upload photos faster on Snapfish.com. When I click on the "Download Now" button, the entire page blinks as if nothing happened. Is there a setting I need to switch on Safari's preferences that would allow me to access this? Is there a plugin I need to know about? Is Safari compatible? I have tried Internet Explorer and Firefox and neither work. ANY help would be appreciated!!

Looks like the Site only serves Windows users and do not support Macs.

  • Safari and IRS secure website

Have been using Safari 3.0.4 (523.12.2) for sometime on several macs to obtain federal id numbers from the following site: https://sa.www4.irs.gov/modiein/individual/legal-structure.jsp
This morning this would work on my PowerbookG4 but not on the Intel iMacs. It said it could not establish a secure connection. I have read a post concerning keychain and X509 anchors but do find that file listed in the keychain.app or in the library>keychains. We were able to install firefox and get this to work but I have having to keep remembering to run a different browser. Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.
    Thank you. Kathleen H.

The IRS site seems to have some strange certificate issues with Safari, possibly because their addresses aren't set up correctly.
Try their host servers directly: https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/modiein/individual/legal-structure.jsp or https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/modiein/individual/legal-structure.jsp

  • Is there a problem with iPad safari and html-built websites?

A simple website I made with HTML shows up fine in Safari on iMac, but I get an "Http/1.1 Service Unavailable" error on iPad.  Anyone had similar experience? Thanks.

Here's one of the sites that doesn't work:

  • Safari and Firefox crashing on certain websites

I'm having a new problem with my eMac. When I try to access some websites (a banking website; Playhouse Disney website) both Safari & Firefox browsers crash. This is not happening with my MacBook. I've tried running Disk Repair and installing Applejack but nothing changed. I then went into Safari<preferences<security<web content and unchecked the java related boxes. After doing this, the banking website is allowing me access again but both browsers are still crashing on the PlayhouseDisney website. Is this some sort of java conflict? How can I resolve this?
Please speak slowly and use small words, I was only able to do the above things by reading these boards!

M - I'm having a problem getting kicked out of Safari on my banking website. I spoke to AppleCare this AM - they said there's no fix for 10.3.9, and I either need to use Internet Explorer, or upgrade to 10.4.

  • Bank websites on MAC

Hi! I want to know that is there ay way to  use IE applications on safari? I am currently located in China and all bank websites here require IE, so is there any way? may be some application for ICBC, Bank of china?

No, IE addons can't work in anything other than IE and there is no IE for the Mac (anymore).
But there is one thing you can try that sometimes works on IE-centic sites.  Make the site think you are using IE. You do that by changing the "user agent".
You do this with the Safari Develop menu.  If it isn't already enabled, in terminal, type (cut/paste) the following line:
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDevelopMenu 1
Hit return and relaunch Safari.  You should then see the Develop menu.  In that menu you can change the user agent.  For example, here's mine:
Hopefully, no guarantees, the web site will be happy thinking you are using some version of IE (6, 7, or 8) and won't foul up the display too much attempting to use IE-specific HTML additions instead of standard HTML.
Note, if you ever want to turn the Develop menu back off,
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDevelopMenu 0
i.e., set the value to 0 for off (as opposed to 1 for on).

  • HT1338 After I installed OS X Mountain Lion system, I can't use my Safari to log into my online banking and some other websites which require passwords. Can some one please help?

After I installed OS X Mountain Lion system, I can't use my Safari to log into my online banking and some other websites which require passwords. Can some one please help?

It could be browser incompatibility or something else. When you say you can't log in, what happens? Is the bank website generating an error saying you're not using a supported browser? Does the login form for your bank account display as usual, but once you submit the form to log in it doesn't work? Give me a specific step-by-step of what you're doing, such as...
    1. I load bankofamerica.com
    2. I type in my login
    3. When I submit, the page does nothing
Obviously that may not be your issue, but giving us details like that will help us come to a quicker conclusion.

You might want to consider "voting with your feet" and taking your business to another bank.  When they tell you the upgrade is the problem, it is really their problem and not yours.  If you don't want to do that, the suggestion that you try another browser is absolutely correct.
