Safari and myspace/facebook/other sites. huge problems- Help

So safari does not load pictures on myspace/facebook well. If a page is full of pictures it takes literally like a half hour to make them all come up. and if they dont, its the little infamous question mark
whats with this?!
I'm running safari beta now but I still have the problem
It's bothering me and making me have OCD. help!

Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

when you have the same issue after the SMC reset:
put new batteries in the MM (even if the others are not empty), turn Bluetooth off then on again on the MBA, take all USB connections out (if any), delete the pairing of the MM and re pair the MM.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Any change?
Select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked
Stop plug-ins to save power
Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Log out and log back in. Any change?
Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?

Since update 3.6.16 I crash in both my tele2 and compuserve webmail, other sites OK

I work on a Macbook MacOS 10.6.7
I updated today to 3.6.16. At the same time the message came to update to Adobe flash player, which I did also.
Since then, Firefox crashes when I go to my webmails (Tele2 and Compuserve). It happens when I click an email in the list to open it.
Firefox dissappears and a error message appears which is sent to Apple (NOT to Firefox, it seems). This message gives the choice to stop or to open Firefox again.
I tried both and also start up again Firefox. This results in the same:
Firefox opens with a message, or rather a choice/question: would I like to a) repair the last session, b) start the session anew, or c) delete the session.
I tried all these, but again they give the same result, namely that the same crash happens (in webmails above).
After a few (a lot) of trying the crash happens already upon entering the webmailservers.
I tried browsing other sites in Firefox (a.o. Jamendo, Mutant Sounds, LinkedIn) and they seem to work normal.
I also tried another browser (Safari) and here I can reach my Tele2 and Compuserve webmails without a problem.
I hope you can help me to work normal in Firefox again. I tried to find the crash ID, but I cannot find the location bar.

You probably can do that.<br />
If you keep the wrong language then remove the offending language pack from the chrome folder in the Firefox program folder.
You may need to (re)set the pref "general.useragent.locale" to the preferred language ("en-US") on the about:config page.<br />
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, like you open a web site.<br />
Use the Filter bar at the top of that page to quickly locate the pref.

Safari (and all my other browsers) die when attempting to use flash

This is getting REALLY annoying. If I uninstall flash the problem goes away. With flash installed... my browsers will hang and die. Safari, Camino, and Firefox all have the SAME problem.
For instance... if I go to youtube and attempt to search for ANYTHING... I get the pinwheel of death.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash, reset the browsers, rebooted, sacrificed live chickens, etc... It has steadily been getting worse and worse for weeks and now today it has just decided no more worky.
Checked permissions on the drive... that's not it.
installed clicktoflash... that doesn't even save me.
Anyone?

K. I've had this problem for a while. This seemed to work:
Google "macromedia flash player settings" then go to the settings manager. Start with the global privacy settings panel and just keep going down the list til you reach "website privacy settings panel." I basically checked deny to everything and did NOT "Allow third-party flash content to store data on your computer." This seeemed to work. Though it's on a website, it WILL changed the setting for your adobe flash player when you're browsing.

Iframes and connectivity to other sites

I have a task, which I am not 100% certain how to approach:
I have a jsp - report.jsp:
It has a form, and an <iframe>. The <iframe> is supposed to show certain screens from a different site, and which screens those are will depend on some parameters I POST to that site.
Meanwhile, I am not supposed to leave report.jsp - only what is displayed in the <iframe> should change, based on parameters chosen from the form on report.jsp.
The suggestion I got to solving this issue is to have my own jsp - iframe.jsp, and have the iframe point to it. Have that jsp submit another form to the site that is not mine.
I don't fully understand the following points:
1. How do I transfer parameters from the form in report.jsp, to iframe.jsp, without leaving report.jsp?
2. How will iframe.jsp submit those parameters to the other site?

Ajax. So when you change parameters on the form in the html, make an ajax request to the other site and fit back the output html from the response back into your html.

Safari and myspace

well when i sign in everything is fine but when i go look at bulletins and peoples pictures if they have cations they show up as &$ and the last letter at the end what's wrong with my safari?

One of my friends background picture (html photo) doesnt show up on my mac, but it shows up on my windows pc. It simply has a banner of the uploading site my friend used (saying some error jibberish "not available"). Any ideas? I do love Safari and the whole Apple gang... this is like the first year i bought any apple merchandise (ibook G4 and imac G5, apple video, and shuffle).

Safari and Mail go mad in Safe Mode - help!

I have a macbook pro, mid-2010, OS X 10.9.5; I use Mavericks. I have lots of space left.
It has been playing up of late, ie, slow and that spinning ball thing appears when waiting for icons to open. I'm not very pc savvy. I have reinstalled 0S X. Repaired permissions. Used Etre and found no red typing after the check. I went into safe mode; I expected something to happen, but it didn't. I just could see 'safe mode' on the top bar thingy. But then I clicked on Safari and as usual it opened in Yahoo UK. The screen went mad! Loading and then unloading lots of lines - it continued to do this. Does not happen on going into Google Chrome. The same mad screen happens when I open Mail, but not as bad. I went into safe mode as i thought it could solve some of the problems I have been having. Do these mad screens mean something? Please help.

You haven't removed the software, at least not completely.
1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Tried some things Safari 4 crashes on certain sites...help new mac user

I have a brand new imac, 1 month old. Only thing I installed on it was Firefox but didn't really like it so I'm using Safari 4. However, on certain sites it was randomly crash. I would reopen Safari and it would work like nothing happened until another random site. This happens once every day or so. I removed the "Java Cocoa" plugin and the "assistance" box is unchecked in Preferences. What plug-ins do I really need for Safari and what happens if I remove them all? Can you help me out? Thanks.

The next time Safari unexpectedly quits, select "report" on the Quit Panel. Then, copy/paste the entire crash report to your reply here. Perhaps the crash report will shed some light on what is occurring.

Google & Yahoo won't load?!? All other sites will. .Help Please

I have a Macbook 2007 running the latest version of Leopard and updated using Software Update. When I use either Firefox, Opera, or Safari 4 beta I can't bring up Yahoo or Google when I enter their URL in the address bar. Other sites work fine but just those two. I can't figure it out. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the programs but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? Here is the error message Safari gives. . .

Go to your Network panel in System Preferences. Click on Airport, then select "advanced". In the first panel on the left you'll see various network connections. Click and remove all but the one you use the most frequently. Then, in the DNS panel, enter these DNS server codes from OpenDNS.com - 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222. Select OK, then "apply". Restart Safari.

I can't access Safari any longer. Each time I click on icon it states "not a valid address". Deleted Safari and reloaded it, but that didn't help. The same message keeps coming back, "not a valid address". Any ideas?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

Why are people so rude and snippy to other members rather than helping them?

I only joined this forum yesterday and already i have seen members be so rude and condescending to other members that are just trying to help. I thought as a community you are here to help each other not tear strips off others and put them down.
Whats the deal with that? I am no techy by any means but this is a COMMUNITY.

As in any community, many people are pleasant, friendly and helpful/grateful, while a small percentage are terse or outright rude. Also, what in some cases what can seem rude is a language or cultural difference cropping up. It's certainly true that people sometimes take out their frustration with their problems with those trying to help, though in my experience there are thankfully few who are truly abusive.

I am updated to the most recent Firefox, yet every website I use still says I need to update. Even the Mozilla site does this. What am I doing wrong. Also, all games on Facebook give me HUGE problems. cannot run any of them.

I am not sure if there is a problem with my computer or the sites I go to. I even went to the speed page of Firefox and it said I was not updated, I am using 8.0.1. What can I do?

Your users agent is stuck at Firefox 3.5.5 due to a extension during when you had 3.5.5 and it tacked on ''FBSMTWB''' on end and kept it from updating the version number. This was due to the "Fast Browser Search toolbar" extension (FBSMTWB). This issue is not a problem with Firefox 4.0 and newer.
