Safari and Myspace Login Issues
Is anyone else having trouble with myspace lately? It will let me login, but if I go to view my friends or check notifications, it signs me out, redirects me to Myspace.com, and instructs me to "Log in to continue." By this point it will no longer let me log in unless I wait an hour or two, in which the process is repeated. I've seen that a good majority of Mac and Safari users are having this problem, as they have posted questions on websites such as yahoo answers. I've contacted myspace and have gotten nowhere. It's just really frustrating, because every time something like this happens windows users say "get a new computer" or "get firefox". Uhm....how about no? Your website should meet W3C website standards! Ugh, all I can say is this is why I prefer Facebook. But, is anyone else having this problem?
HI,
No problem with MySpace here. Try troubleshooting Safari.
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences (Command + ,) on your keyboard then select the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Delete MySpace and click Done. Click the Edit button next to: User names and passwords. Delete MySpace then click Done. Now from the Preferences Menu Bar click the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies. Delete anything MySpace related, click Done.
Now open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left. Delete your MySpace keychain on the right. Quit Keychain Access. Relaunch Safari. Navigate to the MySpace website. Login with your username and password. You will prompted to save that data, click Yes.

HanumantHi Pavan,
Thank you for details,
I checked hostname for all PI systems and FQDN are maintained for them in "hosts" file.
Also one more point, it shows exeception when clicked on ESR or ID links:
java.io.IOException: Authentication failure
at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)
at java.net.HttpURLConnection.getResponseCode(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.deploy.net.BasicHttpRequest.doRequest(Unknown Source)
Do you have any Idea which authentication is failing here?

Safari and/or Keychain issue
I want to create a Keychain entry for a website that I use daily as part of my college training. The service is called Blackboard and the URL in my case is http://www.nhctc.blackboard.com/webapps/login since I am attending classes at NHCTC. For some reason Safari is not asking me if I want to create a Keychain entry for this site. So far all of my attempts to create a manual entry have failed. I suspect that Safari and/or Keychain don't underestand the four part server address ... www.nhctc.blackboard.com
B&W G3-450 Mac OS X (10.4.6)I use Blackboard with my school, and according to the
tech support people at school, Blackboard is
specifically designed to not allow browsers to
autofill the username and password fields.
Aha! ... thanks for the info :?)
B&W G3-450 -
well when i sign in everything is fine but when i go look at bulletins and peoples pictures if they have cations they show up as &$ and the last letter at the end what's wrong with my safari?
One of my friends background picture (html photo) doesnt show up on my mac, but it shows up on my windows pc. It simply has a banner of the uploading site my friend used (saying some error jibberish "not available"). Any ideas? I do love Safari and the whole Apple gang... this is like the first year i bought any apple merchandise (ibook G4 and imac G5, apple video, and shuffle).

Safari and myspace/facebook/other sites. huge problems- Help
So safari does not load pictures on myspace/facebook well. If a page is full of pictures it takes literally like a half hour to make them all come up. and if they dont, its the little infamous question mark
whats with this?!
I'm running safari beta now but I still have the problem
It's bothering me and making me have OCD. help!
ThanksHi ..
Might be a cookies, cache, or extensions issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall. -
Safari and secure connection issues
Today I started receiving errors when I try to log-in to secure web sites such as e-mail or password protected sites like "My eBay". Before I can get to the log-in page I get a drop down screen reading
Safari can’t open the page “https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_verify2?.partner=sbc&.done=http%3a//sbc.yah oo.com/” because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server “login.yahoo.com”.
It has now spread to iTunes and I cannot purchase songs.
I have run keychain first aid in the Access keychain program.
I downloaded the latest security update a couple of days ago. Wondering if it screwed up anything. anybody got any ideas?hey there pease check the article below
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106211
basically it tells you to check date and time -
Export all Safari and Keychain login details to print
How can this be done so I have a hard copy of all my login off Safari or Keychain?
If you want a paper copy of your login.keychain (which includes all of your Safari ones), use this simple AppleScript which generates a list containing the name, account username, and password for each key in my login.keychain. I use this list as a backup for all generic and webpage keys. This works without a problem when run in Script Editor (copy and paste the script into Script Editor, but don't include the <begin script> and <end script> items), prompting with a dialog box for approval to open each key, and continuing on to the end, producing the desired, tab-delimited text document named "Passwords", and saving it to the Desktop. Every time the dialog box pops up, click the right-most button that isn't grayed out. Once through, if you run the script again, it'll remember what you entered previously and not ask again. I usually clean it up manually and copy it into Excel where I can sort it.
Ensure that Keychain Scripting.app is in /System/Library/ScriptingAdditions/ and that the login.keychain is in /Users/username/Library/Keychains/.
<begin script>
set osXKeychainScriptingPath to ¬
(path to scripting additions from system domain as Unicode text) ¬
& "Keychain Scripting.app:" -- one line
set theSecuridPIN to {}
tell application "Keychain Scripting" to launch
tell application "Keychain Access" to launch
using terms from application "Keychain Scripting"
tell application osXKeychainScriptingPath
set KeyList to every Internet key of current keychain
repeat with aKey in KeyList
set theSecuridPIN to theSecuridPIN & ((name of aKey) & tab & ¬
(account of aKey) & tab & (password of aKey) & return) as text
end repeat
end tell
end using terms from
tell application "Keychain Scripting" to quit
tell application "Keychain Access" to quit
tell application "Finder"
open for access file (((path to desktop folder) as text) & "Passwords") with write permission
set theFile to result
write theSecuridPIN to theFile
close access theFile
end tell

Safari and AOL Crashing Issues
Hi,
I'm hoping someone can tell me why, after downloading the latest version of Safari, I'm now having crashing issues while using my AOL mail. Never had any issues before the new Safari version. Here's the report I received moments ago.
I could really use some help. Please.
Gratefully yours,
Clueless.

If you are still having a problem, try the procedure posted below.
Load Safari.
From the Safari contextual menu, select Empty Cache
From the Safari contextual menu, select Reset Safari.
Check all options and click Reset.
When that has completed, quit Safari.
Navigate to HD > Users > Your Account > Library > Preferences:
In that folder, locate and move to the Trash, this file com.apple.Safari.plist, and if present, com.apple.Safari.plist.saved.
Navigate to HD > Users > Your Account > Library > Safari.
In that folder, move to the Trash all items except Bookmarks.plist.
Navigate to HD > Users > Your Account > Library > Caches > Safari.
In that folder, move to the Trash, any items that appear.
Empty the Trash.

Session Time out and iTunes login issues
I am trying to put a digital copy of an Alvin and the Chipmunks DVD into iTunes for holiday tomorrow for my daughters. The redeem code screen comes up fine in iTunes but then next screen after that always says "Session Timeout" your session has timed out.
All computers (3 macs) are also having issues logging into itunes as it keeps asking for my password, logs me in for about 10 seconds to view my account but then seems to log out immediately. I think this might be the issue.
I have tried signing out of app store and itunes on all computers in case that was an issue but still remains.
HELP! I really want to get this sorted today but am now frustrated at 2 hours of trying everything I can think of.
ThanksHello there philsuzy.
To try and make sure all of your bases our covered, feel free to review the steps in the following Knowledge Base article:

Multisession and multiuser login issue...
Hi ,
I am having below database objects like below.
CREATE TABLE test_table_1
(id NUMBER,
col1 VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE pack1
IS
TYPE global_cursor IS REF CURSOR;
END;
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE test_proc (out_cursor OUT pack1.global_cursor)
IS
BEGIN
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'TRUNCATE TABLE TEST_TABLE_1';
INSERT INTO test_table_1
SELECT 1, 'test' FROM DUAL; /* this value is coming dynamically and its different for every user */
COMMIT;
OPEN out_cursor FOR SELECT * FROM test_table_1;
END;
Above procedure is used in multisession. I have doubt if someone truncate the table just after the commit because
I am returning table dataset using cursor out_cursor. Basically i want to open cursor always after commit.
Please suggest me in this.Rajiv-883452 wrote:
I am inserting data just because of intermediate data which comes dynamically. I don't understand what this means.
I can not use global temporary table because of the amount of data insert in table. That doesn't make sense. What resource does a temporary table use that a permanent table does not use that you are concerned that you'll run out of?
If I will use global table then it may create performance issue. I don't understand. What performance issue are you concerned about? Why would a temporary table create a performance issue that a permanent table would not?
I am having same scenario in production database for reporting. I don't understand what you are trying to say here.

Upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1 and have login issues
I have a simple application that I have developed that requires a login. When I was using 3.0 there was not problem, but now with 3.1 when I first attempt to log in I get the error message below in the error log. When I do a back and try to login again, everything is fine. I can recreate the problem every time by logging out, trying to log in for the first time (getting the error), clicking the back button and then logging in again. The second time I get right in. Below is the version and the error message from the log. Has anyone encountered this behavior before?
Version: 3.1.0.00.32
[ecid: 73388049620,1] mod_plsql: /apex/㽦㵰ã±ç°±1 HTTP-404 㽦㵰ã±ç°±1: PROCEDURE DOESN'T EXIST
Thanks in advance,
ChrisChris,
Does the login page to the development environment work properly?
Answer -> This is development. I just started working with APEX so nothing is in production.
I meant the Application Express development tools like the Application Builder, which require you to exercise a login page.
Does this one application that fails also fail if you install it into apex.oracle.com and run it there?
Answer -> I have not tried to do this.
You may wish to do this to gather more data about the problem.
What is different between this failing application and other applications you have developed that do not fail?
Answer -> This is my first application. It started as soon as I upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1
I guess this was too subtle a suggestion that you should collect more data about the problem so that you could state, for example, that all developed applications fail in this way or that only one fails, etc.
Who created that DAD? It's very non-standard -- you have a custom documents table and procedure and you aren't using the standard public user like APEX_PUBLIC_USER to connect.
When you navigate to Home>Administration>About Application Express, this is the "About Application Express" page I meant. Is that giving you this error (?):
Not Found
The requested URL /apex/㽦㵰〱簱1 was not found on this server.
Oracle-HTTP-Server/1.3.28 Server at oraweb2.nabp.net Port 7778
What is the database version and edition (xe or otherwise) ?
You may wish to open an SR with Oracle Support as something is very damaged in your installation.

Safari and other network issues
Problem 1: Since I upgraded to Leopard, I have not been able to use Safari for web browsing. When I attempt to access a page, I receive the following message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access http://www.google.com/ on this server.
Apache Server at www.google.com Port 8100
I get this message for all sites tried. The interesting thing is that I can connect via FireFox 3 to any page I try. Also, my wife on older Safari version in OSX10.4.x can also connect fine.
Problem #2: Cannot connect to my idisk since upgrade to 10.5 and Mobile Me.
When I attempt to conncet to my idisk, I receive the message:
Your iDisk is not available because connecting to the idisk server failed.
An unexpected error occurred.(error code -5016)
I have tried doing both of these from work and home on different networks. I think the problem is local to my machine. I can connect to the internet and network in other ways fine. Firefox works fine, IE via Parallels works fine (except it is within windows - but that is another story). I can file share and access other machines fine.
Anyone have any thoughts?
thanks. Thanks for your answer Barney-15E. It turned out that Comcast had set a proxy when they last serviced my cable modem and it was routing everything through port 8100.
For the benefit of others who may have the same problem. If you find a Comcast Proxy in your proxy settings looking something like this:
Address: actsvr.comcastonline.com
Port 8100
You can delete it. Found this response on another forum and it seemed to do the trick:

This, for me, was a clear Comcast hack that they probably did when when they installed new service. Just uncheck the box and clear out the "Address" and "Port". Then, click on "Ok"." -
Safari and browsing forums issues
This is a hard thing to describe, but here goes.
When I browse forums on the iPad (or iPhone) I will see a bunch of recent threads. I will find one interesting, click on it, and read. Then when I am done reading, I will press back to return to the list of threads. Now, all of the topics are a day or more old. Also, the thread I just read is no where to be found. It's like when I push back, it goes to a much older history than I'm asking for. Now the fix is simple, just refresh the page and I get the most recent threads. However, it is a little annoying and I wanted to see if anyone else has encountered this?
ThanksThanks for your answer Barney-15E.

Hello all,
I'd really appreciate any input on this issue. I'm not especially expert with regard to computer systems and software, so I ask that you please bear with me; I'll try to provide the best information I can. What has been happening with my computer is that it has been freezing and crashing, even with only Safari and Microsoft Word open. More information about the system as well as what I've done so far is below.
I have a mid-2012 13-inch Macbook Pro with a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory (two 2 GB cards), and an Intel HD Graphics 4000 card. I am running I have approximately 280 gigs free on my 500 GB Apple HDD. I am running OS X 10.9.3 (13D65), Kernel version Darwin 13.2.0.
In March or April of this year, my computer started seriously slowing down and freezing and crashing. (I think that this was around the time I upgraded to Mavericks, but am not 100% positive.) Since it is my only computer and I'm a PhD student, it took me until May to seriously address the issue. I ran Apple hardware diagnostics and the disk utility (verified the disk; verified & repaired the permissions), and tried uninstalling programs I thought might be causing issues, but nothing improved. Since it didn't appear to be a hardware issue, I decided to do a clean install of Mavericks with a full software update [and didn't use a time machine backup like I'd done in the past; I only backed up files and bookmarks this time and installed new versions of all my programs]. Although my computer ran better for a few weeks, it started slowing down again, and lately has been crashing on a near-daily basis.
After reading through the fora, I re-ran disk utility (disks check out fine; one permission -- for Safari -- seems to refuse to be repaired), re-ran Apple Hardware test twice (no issues found), and have been running the Activity Monitor [I put it in my dock with the bars showing CPU usage]. Today, when my computer started seriously slowing while I had only two programs open (Safari & Microsoft Word), the Activity Monitor icon on the dock showed all four bars at max.
I managed to get a few screencaps of the Activity Monitor:
So, this suggests to me that either (a) I have insufficient RAM to run Mavericks and run basic computer programs, or (b) there is some other issue.
Do you all have any recommendations as to the best way to proceed? I don't have a lot of cash, so I can't really spend money unless it is really warranted. Would it be worth running OnyX first? Or is this a pretty clear indication that I need new RAM? Alternately, are there any other issues that seem likely (an undetected hard drive problem, etc.)?
Thank you!Hi Melophage,
Thank you. Although it is possible something was running in the background, in Force Quit, the only applications visible were Finder, Microsoft Word, and Safari.
I ran Etrecheck and have included the output here:
