Safari and send image to iphoto

hi there
i need to send a image from a safari page to iphoto . how do i build a script to do that menu command. it appears in the contextual menu when i click over the image.
i know how to tell safari to open the image i want in a new window but i'm stuck in the contextual menu command

i need to copy a webcam image to iPhoto every 5 minutes . i want to setup a mac to do that for at least 15 days. it's difficult to do it manually.
i know how to do the open url part. i know how to use the script with Automator to run it over and over but i cannot figure how to activate the contextual menu in Safari to put the image in iPhoto.
when trying to do a "watch me do" in Automator , i can get the contextual menu to open and to select the correct line but then it stops with an error.
if you know of some other way to do it help is appreciated

The goal is when I export my movie to iDVD, I want to use still clips from my movie as the rotating images. Right now it either plays through the DVD in the rotating part or I can drag pictures from iPhoto into the slots.

Inverted black and white images in iPhoto 6

After I recently upgraded to OS X 10.4.8, a number of black and white images in my iPhoto 6 library started showing up inverted (like negatives) when I open them. The thumbnails, however, are in regular black and white. This didn't happen using OS X 10.4.3. I can't seem to find a tool in iPhoto 6 to convert these images to the correct display. Do you have any explanations or suggestions?

iPhoto 6 does not work well with Grayscale. You'll need to convert them to sRGB. They'll still be black & white, but they'll have a color profile that iPhoto 6 will accept. Old Toad created an Automator application to embed the sRGB profile into your photos. Go to his Toad's Cellar and download the "Embed wRGB Color Profile 2" App. In Finder go in your Originals folder, then drop a roll folder containing these photos onto the app.

Black and white images in iPhoto.

Hello all,
As my old Photoshop no longer works in Leopard, I wanted to use iPhoto to view a collection of jpg format BW images made from hires scans of the negatives. However, after importing them from an iMac file, I saw only black spaces instead of the images.
Am I doing something wrong?

Safari and Dynamic Images onResize problems

Hello everyone! I am a "budding" developer and I have found a
unique problem that I cannot seem to find an answer to. I have
built a flash site here:

- once it loads, go to the portfolio section. If you are using
Safari, (All the
thumbnails have to load as of this post for the first picture to
load - i'm working on it!) the image doesn't appear correctly - it
gets badly distorted - although it is anchored in the right
coordinate, it is sized weird. I am using an onResize() listener to
change how big the portfolio area is so the images loading into the
box are sized appropriately. Is there a known issue with the Stage
object and coordinate systems with Safari? Please help! - this site
works in Netscape on Mac - I haven't been able to test it in
Firefox. PC - works fine in IE and Firefox.

Moving pics location and removing images from iphoto

Here is the basic breakdown.
1. Imported pics from camera into iphoto.
2. I want to remove some of the pics from iphoto.
3. I do not want to use delete due to I want to burn/move a copy to CD or a different folder on my HD.
4. I moved a couple for test purposes from my iphoto lib to my home folder.
5. Reboot.
6. In iphoto I can still see the photos in the smaller views. but when I try to full screen the photo I get an grey screen ?x type of thing.
I do not want the small pic either.
Advice or direction?

To add to Terence's suggestions I'd like to expand on:

To copy those photos to another folder use the File->Export->File Export menu option. This will copy the files to the location of your choice.
To burn the photos to disk so that iPhoto can access them at a later date then use the method described by Terence. To burn just the jpg files to a disk without the iPhoto format use the Export route again to a folder on the desktop and then burn that folder via the Finder.
And do not take the warning about messing with files via the Finder lightly. As you found out it can really mess up the library.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Safari and enlarging images

I can change the size of text by pressing  +/-, but images remain the same.

Hmmm...you know I double checked and it looks like only images that are in flash you can do it. So that means it's the feature in flash. You're right! Just regular jpeg's or whatever it's not there...Sorry!

What is the difference between "Save image to downloads" and "save image to iPhoto library"???

Typically I have been saving my photos to the iphoto library. Im not sure which is the best option. What is the difference between these 2 options?

one goes to your downloads folder and the other goes to your iPhoto library.

Critical issue with exporting images in iPhoto 08?

I have been exporting selected photos to a thumb drive under iPhoto 06. I then take the thumb drive and put it in a pioneer palsma and go to GALLERY mode. Works fantastic and I can then review the images with my clients. Never had a problem with iPhoto 06. I upgraded to iPhoto 08 recently and export selected photos to the thumbdrive under the new upgrade. When I go to Gallery mode on the plasma the photos do not come up and it hangs up the plasma..... ??? Seems to be a problem somewhere with what "08" does with the photos? I ran a number of different test with two different thumb drives using photos from iPhoto 08 and cannot get them to work. I go back to an old iMac that was not upgraded to iPhoto 08 and both thumb drives they work fine on the plasma. In fact it is almost impossible to mess the operation up with "06". I have tried to export the photos in "08" in all the various size options and still no success. I would appreciate any help to this critical problem I am facing since I use this function of showing my images on a plasma on a daily basis . After about 10 to 12 hours of working htis problem I am totally loss as what to do. Thanks for your time.

1. I select the photos from iPhoto - varied between 5 and 20 (ran different test)
2. Click on FILE
3. Select EXPORT
4. Under the FILE EXPORT tab I have tried all the various options with no success
5. KIND - I make sure they are JPEG files - I have tried the Original also which is actually JPEG files
6. JPEG QUALITY - I have tried all 4 options from LOW to MAX
7. SIZE - I tried all 4 size options from SMALL to FULL
8. FILE NAME - I use filename
9. Select EXPORT tab
10. I export to the thumbdrive and I chcek and they are on the thumbdrive
11. I also tried to EXPORT to the desktop and copy them to the thumbdrive
I click on the photos on the exported images I placed on the thumb drive and they come up fine on PREVIEW on my MAC. No prroblem with the images until I try to use them on the plasma. I go back and use images from iPhoto 06 that I did not call up with the "08" program and they work fine.

Copying a page and sending it in an email

I am trying to copy a whole page and then send it in an email. When I do this the pictures are just a bunch of letters. I tryed to download and save and it does the same thing. I think I need to save as RTF but I dont know how to do so..

To copy a page from Safari and send it from OS X 10.4.2 I just hit "Command-I" and the page comes up in Mail ready to address and send.

Blank images with iPhoto 6 on OS 10.3.9 on iMac G4

Have installed iPhoto 6 on iMac G4 with OS 10.3.9. The iPhoto Library is (only) on an external (Maxtor) hard drive attached via firewire. Photos are imported automatically into this file. After iPhoto 6 installation, the image files from iPhoto Library are blank with a dotted square in each; the file name is under each blank image. I have been unable to obtain the visual images to these files (about 9000). Another MacBook laptop is able to access the files and the images in iPhoto 6. I have checked all the obvious preferences and would appreciate your help.

Must be in the air. The same happened to all my 7506 images in my library. They went blank, that is. And that's on my Mac Mini CD (Intel) with Tiger 10.4.7. I thought it might be a bug in the new 10.4.7 update, but it can be the same problem and not be related to the OS version. I too have my iPhoto Lib on an external hard drive. (iOmega MiniMax 250). Safari can not upload images newly imported into iPhoto. I have to shutdown iphoto and safari before the latest import of images into iPhoto is found my safari.

When I want to upload images to facebook on safari - from a NEWLY imported album in iPhoto - Safari can not find the new album in iPhoto. Obviously the most commonly uploaded images are the recent ones. I am uploading them to a facebook page, not my own account - which is not possible from iphoto. So I have to shutdown safari and iphoto and then do the upload again. This has happened me three times now - and - well - its one of those annoying things that windows 95 could have done and super safari can't .... could apple sort this out sometime. Please.

You'll not get a rebuttal from me. I still run into Wizard of Oz moments.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

again image capture is not involved with deleting photos from iPhoto in any way ever
the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager is very good for finding duplicates as is Duplicate Annihilator
And I have no idea who told you this - or what it means - but re-read both of my opening statements
I was told I could delete multpiles thru image capture by transferring my iPhoto library etc
