Safari And YouTube HD Videos

I have just discovered something very interesting. When I access HD YouTube videos using Safari, I am only given two options, 360p and 480p. I opened up Firefox 3.6 and Opera 10.10 (both the latest versions of the browsers) and I had the option of watching it in 720p also. Has anyone else noticed this with Safari and is there a setting that I can enable in Safari to watch HD YouTube videos in 720p? If not, thank goodness I have other browser options.

Youtube was removed by Apple in iOS 6. Safari should not be removed. Try restoring your iPod in iTunes. You should then get Safari back. Also, there is a Youtube app in the App Store. It's in the free section of the Top 25.

Safari and Youtube can't connect to server

Safari and Youtube can't connect to server but I can use iTunes online store. Isn't that strange? Any ideas why?
I use static ip-adresses on my home network with a WEP 128bit security. I have entered all configuration that I enter under tcp/ip properties on my but there is one property on the touch that I don't recognise from my PC and that is someting that translated could be named "Search Domains". It's the last property under the static wireless config tab.

I have no idea what I am doing... but once i changed the proxy (HTTP) my life is just miserable, no sites open, like its really annoying. Do you know how to fix it.

None of those apps can be deleted. Have you moved them into a folder? Moved to a different page? Restricted them: Settings>General>Restrictions...are yours on? All of those apps restricted?

Why isn't Netflix and youtube playing videos on my ipad

Every time i try to watch a video on Netflix or youtube it wont play. The videos wont load. I tried using the apps and safari and google chrome but no videos will play this first happened yesterday.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Also, make sure your internet connection is working.

Safari and youtube problems

Ok...so i've had this problem before and i ended up uninstalling safari which turned out to be a bigger mistake until someone helped me to find the right download to restore it...but anyway since restoring the problem i'm about to describe hadn't come up until the last few days...so i'll describe it again here....
The problem seems to be directly related to youtube...but only with safari, as i've started using firefox (my back up browser) again when the problem comes up and i simply don't have the problem then....only with safari...so hopefully someone can help me troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
The problem starts with a general freezing of safari, but only when i'm watching a youtube video...and directly on youtube....in other words, embeded youtube videos at other sites don't seem to be an issue, but sometimes, not always and not on every video if i pull it up on youtube.com, the video screen remains a stagnant black...not thinking wheel or sound or static or anything, just a dead black window with no volume or any other controls.
So when i go to my subscriptions for excample, there are certain videos that that happens when i go to the vid page....i back out and retry and have tried to reload the page, etc, but to no avail....just a dead black screen. But then i can try the next video and it will work fine.....and the issue seems consistent with the same videos, tho those videos collectively are random...meaning not from the same poster, or not under a certain resolution setting or anything like that...so as an example, if video A and B and C play fine, then i get to video D and it doesn't work.....then A and B and C always work, and D always does not..... that's after shutting down safari and reopening it...after shutting down the computer and restarting it....the issue is persistent on whichever vids had th problem to begin with...so then i thought let's test with another browser and see what happens....it almost seems like those video's flash is not working...but only those specific videos and only on Safari...
So then i pull up firefox and they all play fine, noooo problem...period....no problem on firefox....so i've determined it somethin to do with Safari...but the what and the how to fix are my problem....has anyone else experienced this and maybe know how i can at least find an error log or something that i can post here it will help someone to help me fix it?

sorry, did a search and nothting came up for some reason, but as i posted i see posts on the right that sound like my problems so i'm tryin them as i see them and updating my question accordingly.....said to turn off extensions...and that was my first solution the last time this happened, and they have never since been turned on....so they are already off....so that's not helping either...

Netflix and YouTube 4k videos - Ghosting and/or Flickering

I have a Model 58L8400U 4k TV
Whenever I try to watch Netflix or YouTube 4k videos the sceen starts to either ghost or flicker - I than have to unplug the TV for 3-5min and it will work fine again. This happens everytime you switch from watching satelite back to Netflix.
What is the problem?

Tried that and they are every bit of useless!!! They have zero clue as to what they are doing - All they want you to do is perform a master reset of the TV. Did that 3 tines with them and guess what, STILL THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!

Control over iPod Safari and YouTube content?

I would like my pre-teen to be able to use Safari on his iPod Touch, but I do not want him to have unfiltered access to the Internet. The same is the case with YouTube. It would be great for him to watch the silly videos about Charlie the Unicorn going to candy mountain, but not see YouTube **** and the like. With Restrictions, these apps are on or off, and that's it. What's the solution here?

I'll look into the router approach. I took a look at Opera and didn't see any content filtering options. I don't mind installing apps, as long as they are free apps and fall within the age restrictions I have set (12+).
The test searching I did with the YouTube brought up an abundance of "adult oriented" videos that no kids should see. So it seems, if YouTube is on, it's on with no age or content restrictions whatsoever. That's unfortunate.
FYI: I had to edit this post because I cited YouTube search returns as being "soft por*" and even this forum technology edited out the word "por*. It would be great if the same capabilities could be applied to all of the iPods kids are running around with.

Safari and Youtube + Computer lagging [after yosemite update]

Hello all,
Lately, when I go on youtube.com (with safari as my default browser), there is an extreme amount of lagging. Youtube takes forever to load, and after refreshing the page a few times, the pace of the site is still very slow. When I click a video, I usually have to cancel the tab and start over or click the video several times before it actually loads. After that, I get the video and the comment section says "loading..." and never loads! Does anyone else have this lagging issue?
Not only youtube, but my computer has started to lag a bit? my tablet doesn't function that well with my computer (even after updating the driver/reinstalling twice). Also, and of the safari tabs I eventually have open all end up lagging, and I have to restart my computer constantly. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Oh, I'm using a Macbook air.

Safari and recently recorded videos

Safari 6 allows you to upload files to a web site. When you click a "choose file" button it asks you if you want to...
Take Photo or Video
or
Choose Exisiting
It then lets you snap a photo and video right there and upload it or you can browse your camera roll or photo stream.
If you decide to record a video right there when you are done it automatically uploads the video to the web site. Neat!
But, the movie file has a .mov extension on it. If you were to now download that file from the web site Safari on the iPad won't let you view the video!
Is there some trick you have to do like embed it in the page or something? Seems rather silly that I can't download and play a .mov file that I just recorded.
Any solutions out there other than converting the video?

Safari and YouTube no longer show up. How do I reload them?

A few months ago, my daughter noticed the YouTube icon gone on an iPhone 4 (not Siri). Now the Safari ICON is gone. I used iTunes to sync but can't find anywhere to add Safari back to the iPhone.

What version of iOS is she using? iOS6 no longer has YouTube. Safari disappearing is weird. There is no way to delete stock (default) apps, so Safari can't just disappear. Go to Spotlight search and search for "Safari." It's probably in a folder somewhere.

YouTube has been eliminated in IOS 6. You can download the new iPad YouTube app for free in the App Store.
Check Settings>General>Restrictions and see if you restricted the other apps, as they cannot be deleted.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for them as well.
You can also reset the home screen layout and the icon will reappear - but the home screen will return to the way that it looked when you first activated your iPad.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
If the camera is not working, reboot the iPd.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
You now have to give apps permission to use Photos so go to Settings>Privacy>Photos and make sure that apps that need the camera or photos are set to ON.

My iPod Touch 4G can acces Safari and Youtube but it wont load iTunes and Appstore nor Online games.(google in safari wont show pictures either)..what can I do so my iPod acceses the WHOLE internet(tired restore it 24 times and I on/offed router and so on

It used to work as soon as i restarted my router but after an hour the iPod or perhaps the router,wont let me acces the appstore or itunes or the games center...
Its my first iPod and i guess i didnt configured the router´s w-lan well or something...I restored the Pod,I did all 4 steps in the support twice and i reinstalled my routers software+firmware but now im running out of ideas to solve this problem...(used to solve´em myself)

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall for the network problem.
Also for the original problem try the following if Ana's suggestions does not work
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Safari 8 and Youtube problems

Hello there. I'm a new Mac user (iMac 21,5" 2,7 GHz quad-core with Yosemite) and I just noticed this problem with Safari and Youtube videos. Sometimes, not always, HTML5 videos stutter at the very beginning (less than 1 second from the start), and the buffer bar comes back to zero, causing a little pause. After this, the video runs smoothly without any other stuttering. It doesn't happen on Chrome or Firefox. I tried to clear the cache, uninstall Flash (flash videos are not affected...), but nothing changed. It isn't a connection problem, cause, as I said, everything runs fine on other browsers. Any idea? Thanks a lot!

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button.
2. Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Press the button “ Remove All Website Data”.
