Safari, at times does not load images on webpages, is very slow, or doesn't work at all. Rarely does it operate as one would expect.

iMac 27" 2009 intel core 4 gigs of ram, 1tb HD, Current operating system. 2 user accounts, myself, my fiancee's. Each with iPhones so each setup to utilize iCloud. I have disabled 3rd party plug-ins once with only short-term effects. There are other issues with the computers performance and I have spoken to apple support regarding them multiple times. Some include iCloud not syncing properly to the iMac (though it does to phone and online), Finder windows getting "lost" between "digital desktops". Desktop image not syncing across all "digital desktops". iTunes often has issues with syncing with and playing from my iTunesMatch account.
Safari's issues include it not loading any images on a website, when trying to load a new page by typing a search in the the url it won't even begin to load a page, sometimes it is very slow to load a page, a lot of time it will spend 5+ minutes "attempting" or not even visually attempting to load a webpage without warning the page can't be found, and then of course there are the "page can't be found" warnings as well.
Very much thanks in advance,
AK

  • Safari 8.0.3 not loading images. Fix?

Is anyone else experiencing missing images on major web pages that are simply not loading in the latest version of Safari?
I'm seeing blue boxes with white question marks pretty regularly on sites like smh.com.au as per below:
If there's a preference purge I need or some sort of reset I'd be glad to hear. Very unusual behaviour from Safari as far as I can see especially having the latest version 8.0.3 running.
Any tips greatly appreciated - or anyone else seeing it to let me know that I'm not alone..
    Thanks in advance.
    P.S. I'm on a late 2012 iMac with 16Gb RAM running a 3.4Ghz i7

With Safari open look at the menu bar top lef your screen.
If you see Develop between Bookmarks and Window, click Develop.
If Disable Images has a ✔️ mark, click one time to remove the check mark.
    Safari images should appear.
If not, try troubleshooting Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

Re: IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgradein response to pacoKAS
SOLVED:  IOS 8 Issues on iPad 2:
I just returned home from a visit to the Genius Bar. Like you and many others, when I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8, it became practically unusable. It was VERY slow, lagged whenever trying to to do anything. Lots of screen freezes and apps spontaneously crashing. I was convinced that the processor on the iPad 2 just couldn't handle the new IOS and I went in to see about restoring to IOS 7.
Thankfully, I was hooked up with a very sharp guy at the bar. The problem is not with the OS, it is with it being an *upgraded* OS. He used the analogy of when you had an older Windows computer and how over time (and over upgrades), they just tended to get slower and slower because of all of the garbage that was carried forward in the upgrades. At those times (and if you've ever had a Windows computer, you get this), the only thing that would speed it up would be to wipe the machine and do a fresh install of the current OS and then reload your apps, and the viola, everything would be fast again. Well, it turns out that IOS can suffer the same problems.
THE FIX:  FIRST, be sure you have a current iCloud backup of your device.  Connect your iPad to a computer that has a clean fresh copy of IOS 8 on iTunes (this is best done with a computer other than the one that you sync your device to because you DO NOT want to restore it from a back up just yet). Ideally, if you do this at an Apple store you'll be assured of the right version there and someone to answer any questions you might have along the way. You then hold the power and home button down to hard-reset the device and continue to hold them down until it reboots into recovery mode. You then follow the instructions on the computer to reinstall the OS on the device (which wipes everything from it and then reinstalls a clean copy of it). Once this is done (which only takes about 15 minutes), your device will reboot and ask you to set it up. Answer the questions about language, location, etc. and continue until it asks you to log into your iTunes account. Once you do that, it will ask if you want to either 1) Set it up as a new device, 2) Restore from iCloud, or 3) Restore from iTunes. Choose (2), restore from iCloud. This will ensure that it brings down "clean" copies of all of your apps and preferences rather than the potentially corrupted ones that might reside in your iTunes backup. That's it! It will take a few hours depending on how much data and apps you have, but I am happy to report that my iPad 2 is now running IOS 8 and it's running as fast as it ever did when it was brand new!
To sum it up, this process 1) Wipes your device and the garbage causing your problems, 2) Loads a clean and bug-free version of IOS 8 to your device, and 3) restores your apps and data so that it looks just like it did before the wipe, with the exception that it works now!  :-)
Note also that by following this process you don't have to go through the painful and laborious process of reloading all of your apps, data and/or settings. iCloud takes care of all of that for you.

  • Safari is loading webpages extremely slow and not loading images...

Not loading webpages a lot of the time and not loading images on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. I'm new to Mac and I'm running Safari on a Mac Mini. Help? Also deleted ~/Libraries/Safari and it didn't work.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can.
    1. Have you restarted your router and broadband modem since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
    2. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they also slow?
    3. What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
    4. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they also slow?
    5. If you can test Safari on another network, is it slow there too?
    6. If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Set browser to NOT load images or videos to reduce data usage

On the Bold 9900 I could tell the browser to NOT load images or videos. This helps dramtically reduce data usage when all Im interested in is the text of articles.
The Reader mode is not the same since the page with all its content has already been loaded.
I also find the Reader mode often results in a message that this page cannot load in Reader mode.

Sorry I misunderstood, although I do understand what you're saying. I received a notification saying that I was being charged by my service provider due to overlimiting my data usage. I then telephoned telus and I was told it is simply the type of phone that is now able for a 4g network and so on. This being said, the phone store also checked my phone to see if I had any apps still open that I was unaware of. I not use facebook on phone but was told that that is a big hog of data. Anyways, it was also suggested that I use wi-fi wherever possible. I found al this to be unknown to me as on my other BlackBerry phones, I had never gone over my little bit of 750mb ever. Now with this phone, 4 days before cycle ends, it's suggested to buy 3 g just "to be on the safe side". All said, I may or may not be able to reduce to 1.5 g. This classic phone requires extra data just to simply be connected to a network is what the telus provider and the store clerk both tell me. sorry I could not provide definite answer for you.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    1. Clear Firefox's Cache
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
    2. If needed, delete your google.com cookies here
While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • Is there a way to not load images in safari? Like on android you can tick a box to load images or no to the internet?

Is there a way to not load images in safari on ios 7 like in android there is
The option to load or not load images?

My reply here was specific for this thread, but as you noted, I didn´t read careful enough. I wrongfully took for granted that issues in the More Like This box was platform dependent. I tried to apolgize accordingly, I would like to see the post deleted, but that doesn´t stop you from policing obviously.
And instead of arrogantly replying about matters irrelevant for this thread, maybe you should start reading more carefully yourself. The posts you are referring to are related to large images failing to load properly in Safari 7. This is not as you claim "vaguely related". Take this elsewhere if you have a problem with it.
Again, sorry for messing up the thread.

  • Safari not loading images

I'm having an issue with Safari not loading websites correctly. It happens on BBC and Apple website. All I get is the text, no banners, images, thumbnails, nothing. Can anyone shed light as to why this is happening. My internet is connection is fibreoptic and is 55mb/second

    Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
"Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar
    Enable Images.
Make sure that"Disable Images" is not enabled.

  • SAFARI WILL NOT LOAD IMAGES

On my laptop safari works fine but on my G5 safari now will not load images or has a ? where images should be any help out there please

    Hello Fraser:
We may not have the problem isolated. Are you connecting the computer that "works" in the same way that the one that "works" is connected?
There is nothing inherent in either Safari or OS X that I am aware of that would cause the problem you describe.
A general "fix" for some Safari performance problems (after clearing the cache) is to trash the preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart (enter your personal Safari preferences). You might also trash the "favicon" file as that can slow Safari if it gets too large (~library>safari>icons).
I would also turn off all items in the Safari preferences under "autofill" and turn on all the web content boxes under "security."

  • My mail system does not load image automatically

my mail system does not load image automatically. how does that happen? what should i do to set the image load configuration?

Although you can configure Mail to load HTML images automatically, you should think twice about doing it. The sender of the message could determine your email address, your IP address, and when you opened his message. Not what you want if you get spam, as most people do.

  • Firefox does not load images on any website. This has been a problem for years

It's not clear why. but only Firefox does not load images on web pages. Works fine on IE
Follow all the troubleshooting steps at
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_don%27t_load
no of it works. Never has. I see this problem all over. It's the main reason that users don't switch to Firefox.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks.

Chromium does not (load image on Google plus & install extension)
Also it does not load images on some sites such as chrome web store.
I had this problem after I upgrade to chromium 14.0.835.186-1 64-bit
I am sure of that, I select this "Preferences -> Under the Hood -> Content Settings -> Show all images (recommended)"
When I want to install any extension. it will not install.
    This message appears:

    This webpage is not available
Chromium could not load the webpage because clients2.googleusercontent.com took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.

I removed the package and deleted all configurations and caches.then install it but that did not fix it.
I tried it on Firefox. it is working well.
I don't know if this is a bug with chromium or there is something wrong in my configuration.

    it is working now.
maybe there was a lag from the server.

  • My Safari 7.0 is not loading any page

I don't know what I did wrong. My Safari 7.0 is not loading any page. The software start normaly yet when I put an internet address the aplication only shows a blank image.
I don know if there is a way to re-install the application.
Firefox and Google Chrome are working fine.
Thanks in advance for your attention and support.
    Regards,

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

  • Safari pages delay do not load

I am new to MACs and the Safari web pages will not load or very slow(mintues) to load. How can I get the browser to respond quicker, and more stable?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

    Hi,
This is a known issue with the way Wordpress generates the URLs to included content:http://forums.adobe.com/message/4774943
Wordpress generates absolute URLs to content rather than relative URLs, so the current workaround is to either use relative URLs or, if that's not possible, modify the wordpress configuration to use the IP address instead of localhost.
    Hope this helps,
