Safari becomes unstable when I'm viewing my Friendster Profile.

I launched Safari and I want to check my Friendster and to view my Profile. Suddenly, becomes unstable due to too much flash contents (e.g. YouTube). But I tried to load my profile in other browsers and it's working fine. It increased CPU usage to 100% and most likely to cause hang-ups on my new web browser. I tested my profile on Firefox and even it increased cpu usage on firefox application up to 100%, my profile there is working fine.

Unfortunately, Safari 3 beta isn't finished and optimized product. Flash animations cause a huge CPU utilization. You should wait for final version of Safari for Windows.

  • Safari becomes unresponsive when clicking on a link from facebook.

    Early 2011 Macbook Pro, 13" OS X ver. 10.6.8 Processor: 2.3 GHZ Intel Core i5 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Safari Version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10)
While in Safari, especially using facebook, when I click on a link to see a video the computer gets warm and the fan kicks into high gear. The video gets all sluggish or sometimes won't play and the page responds slowly sometimes becoming unresponsive. Even if I only have one window open, and also when I have multiple windows opened. The spinning pizza of death appears regularly. What can I do to resolve this?

    Hi videowave,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that when clicking on some links, your computer does not respond as quickly as you would expect. In this situation, I would recommend reading over and working through the suggested steps located in the attached article.

  • Safari becomes unresponsive when opening Yahoo

Strange indeed. I've been using Safari on both my Windows-based desktop and my W-b lap. My desk pc has an AMD 64, and 2 gigs of Ram. I keep it clean, fast, safe, and in selective startup. Today, I opened it and let it go to the Apple start page. I scanned a few pages of product information. Then, I hit the Yahoo tab. It opened the page, and it promptly cramped-up. I had to use the task manager to close it. I tried rebooting. I tried repairing it. I uninstalled it, cleaned the registry for leftovers, and reinstalled it. Nothing has worked. Curiously, the program has no dysfunction on the laptop. I think the British would call it a sticky wicket. Any suggestions? Thanks, Richard.

    Hi Richard,
I'm not sure I can help here, but I have Yahoo pre-installed on my Safari pane directly below my Google search box, so I just click on that, and it goes directly to Yahoo ready to use (although it currently takes me directly to my Yahoo Mail page) for which reason, I usually open a new window first, so that I can keep the window I want to work in, rather than have to use the 'back, forward' arrows.
As you say, this sounds like a 'very sticky wicket', so I hope someone elso van help more than I can.

  • Why does Safari become unresponsive when more than 20 windows are open

    Does 3.0.3 fix this?
It is extremely annoying to wait for the beachball for minutes on end after a certain number of windows( 15 to 25) are open. You can't open a new one , you can't close old ones, you can't scroll, you can't use the back arrow, you can't bookmark.
I have tried iFreeMem to clear memeory, Empty cache, Clear History, keeping desktop clear of icons, nothing works.
Mi compadres in the Photoshop Forum believe it is a file swap issue and the disk is being accessed repeatedly, but I don't think so. Fire Fox does the same thing but allows more windows to be open.
I don't have any unresponsive or slow issues with anything else. Safari has always done this since at least 10.4

It's not that I'm unfamiliar with tabbed browsing, I use it three times a day in Firefox for work purposes. Firefox has a less awkward tabbing scheme, for one thing.
I't just that I never thought there would be a problem following links and leaving the previous windows open.
Moving 25 gigs of files off my hard disk showed a temporary improvement in the number of windows I could have open in both FF and Safari, but it seems to have reverted to about 20 in S and 40 in FF. This , I thought, indicated that it was indeed a swap file slowdown, but now I don't think so. The next time I start linking, I'll use Open in Tab and see what happens. Not tonight, too tired.

  • I use MAC OSX Lion 10.7.5 which has become unstable when using Internet and Pages. Any ideas?

When using word, pages or email the cursor jumps around all over the document placing the typed information anywhere!
I am having to constantly rewrite emails and documents
Even writing this question has taken three attempts.
Any ideas what I can do to solve the problem would be really appreciated.
Could it be a keyboard problem (mine is wi-fi)?

    please someone answer!

  • I was playing with my ipad settings (it's an older model) and noted in the advanced settings of Safari there was a place to view website databases.  When I clicked on this I saw websites.  How do these get there and what does the space amount mean?

I was playing with my ipad settings and noted in he advanced settings of Safari there was a place to view "website databases".  When I selected this I saw a multitude of websites.
Can anyone tell me how these get there?  Can a website be posted even if it was never went to?  What does the space amount mean?  For example, 1.5 kb...is this quite a bit?  Would it indicate someone has gone to a site multiple times?
I share my ipad with my teenage daughter and I'm trying to find out if she's lying to me.  Obviously she's swearing that she has "no idea" how these got there and I'm trying to keep her safe (she's only 14).
    Thanks everyone.

Think of your PC and the 'temporary internet folder' where it keeps cached copies of web pages or elements off a web page for 'quicker display the next time you visit'. That's pretty much what that folder is. 1.5K is tiny. Probably just a basic page with some text on it. (you might be confusing 1.5K with 1.5 megabyte....megabyte is large...it's roughly 1000 kilobytes, so the 1.5K is a tiny file)
As far as I know, the only way info gets into that folder is if the browser has been to that site.
if you have a concern there are browsers out there, McGruff is one i've seen recommended, that allow some degree of parental control and supervision. That or you could passcode lock the iPad or enable the restrictions to turn off some parts of the device to have some control.

  • Using Lightroom 5.7, Raw files become from my Nikon D810 become corrupted when I select them to view or edit.

.Updated to Lightroom 5.7 to accommodate the Nikon D810. Upon importing RAW files to the files become corrupted when they are selected to be viewed or edited.
I am using Windows 7, 64 bit, with 8 GB Ram.
    Any help would be appreciated.

There are several likely sources of corruption, and video card would be far down on my list of possible suspects.
The transfer from camera card to hard disk is the most likely place for problem, either the card reader or USB cable can go bad. Another likely source of problems is the computer's hard disk is starting to fail. The camera card itself may be bad. And lastly, the memory in the computer may be malfunctioning.

  • Safari 5.0.5 freezes & crashes when trying to view pdf

For some reason safari 5.0.5 freezes & crashes when trying to view pdf
Any ideas how to fix this issue?

    Hi
    that's usually due to a plug-in over-riding Safari's built-in pdf support.
Quit any browsers & remove any 'pdf...' plugins from either of these folders
    Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
    Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/

  • TS2771 on i pod touch the orientation does not change when I turn it on it's side when using safari etc.  When viewing youtube it only displays widescreen and will not display portrait , anyone any ideas? is this a fault or do all ipod touch do this?

On i pod touch the orientation does not change when I turn it on it's side when using safari etc.  When viewing youtube it only displays widescreen and will not display portrait , anyone any ideas? is this a fault or do all ipod touch do this?

    The user guide says:
Movies viewed in Videos and YouTube appear only in landscape orientation. Street views in Maps
also appear only in landscape orientation.
Do you have the scree orientation lock turned on? If on there is a circular arrow icon with a padlock inside next to the battery charge icon in the upper right.

  • Disabled scroll view scrolling becomes enabled when keyboard is up

I have a scroll view for which I have disabled horizontal scrolling. Normally this works fine. However, I have recently added functionality to make the view scroll when the keyboard is up so that text fields, etc. are not occluded by the keyboard. When the keyboard is up, I am suddenly able to scroll the view horizontally, even though I am not explicitly enabling horizontal scrolling in the scroll view at any point.
I have checked, and I am not setting the size of the scroll view's frame at any point in code, and the only place in I am setting the scroll view's contentSize property, I am setting it to the size of the existing scroll view (320). If anybody has come across this problem before, or has any suggestions for other things I could check then I'd be very grateful.

I think this was happening because I was trying to set the content view size in IB using the content size, but this was actually changing the content inset, rather than the content size which appears to have to be set programmatically. Oddly, changing the inset allows the view to scroll, it just causes problems when the content view is scrolled.

    Then reset the iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
