Safari blocks my email access

I am getting a 'too many redirects' notice whilst trying to open my email account with Virginmedia.com.
Nowhere in Apple's 'support' is there any help or admission their Safari program can be sorted to cure the problem. In fact they want £25 for a 'one-time' service agent to talk to me about it - really helpful.
I have cleared History, shut down and restarted and tried everything but the program has absolutely no help at all or suggestion on how it can be cured - just a bland message saying this is the problem.
Does anyone have any ideas, please?
Graham

Please see the advice on this page:
Safari: "Could not open the page, too many redirects" - Apple Support
Virgin media itself isn't helping: I just looked at my VM webmail and it went through I think five redirects before landing, which is frankly daft. However I did get there, so the advice on the page above may sort it.

  • Block Personal Email Access Over The Air

Thanks in advance for any replies.
Issue: Company are going to deploy 100 iPad 2 to field based staff. We are going to use an MDM solution to deploy configuration profiles to lock down the devices for a corporate environment over the air.
One issue we can not resolve at the moment is blocking staff adding a new personal e-mail account (gmail, hotmail etc...) by the way of an over the air provisioning profile.
If we deploy the MDM solution to the device & set-up Exchange e-mail access after this is complete we can turn off adding a new e-mail account via the restrictions option but this has to be completed manually!
Does anyone know a way of doing the above over the air so we do not have to visit each device? Downloaded the latest version of iPhone Config Utility (3.5.0.289) but this option is not available under mail or restrictions to my knowledge.

The MDM solution has a built-in content blocker that can block access to specific URLs so web based e-mail can be blocked via that.
Alternatively we could filter web traffic via our corporate VPN & then us the head office web filtering application to block access to web based email via Safari.

  • Safari and yahoo email access

On a new macbook, when trying to access yahoo email, Safari says "cannot find server" although yahoo/google, etc search works ok and yahoo server is up??

Considering Apple isn't responsible for third party mail clients, you'll have a hard time convincing Apple it's their problem with Safari.
Try deleting Yahoo cookies in Safari / Preferences - Details.
Try emptying the Safari cache more often.
Select the top 5 button when you reset Safari from the menu bar.
Try disabling Safari Extensions located in Safari / Preferences.
Try troubleshooting Safari third party add ons here.

  • How to block unwanted emails in yahoo on my ipad without access to a computer?

I am deployed and I have only my iPad. I would like to block unwanted emails in my yahoo account. How do I do this?

Once they are marked as junk, any future emails from them will be sent to the junk or spam folder, thus I will still be receiving emails from them, they a just routed to a different location in my email. If this is correct, I would like to completely block the email address and prevent them from sending me emails versus routing them to my junk box. I appreciate your time with helping me on this matter.

  • Can Mac Firewall block certain emails from Gmail?

    Hi all!
I use an iMac OSX 10.8.5 and I access my Gmail through Safari. (web based email).
Could someone please tell me if turning on the firewall on my iMac could block certain incoming emails?
From my understanding, enabling a firewall would NOT affect web-based emails.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Dont worry!
    I ill try help u.
So, Firewall dont block any message, his block only not autorized access to your computer/system.The router firewall ill prevent unautorized access to you network, basic(have more restrictions in booth cases... only to explain)
If u wanna more security, or filtering, wanna ill do that in your Mail app, go do Preferences of Mail pressing Command+"," or click on Mail Menu>Preferences. Here you can modify your JunkMail and your rules.
So, about outcoming mails...your Firewall ill not block sending mais for default, but outcoming server can be changed...u can use one outcoiming server for all mails accounts.

  • READ This if you have a Yahoo email access issues on iPhone

It's just (10:53) been confirmed to me over the phone with 02 iPhone support that there is an email server down at Yahoo which is affecting iPhone email access for accounts set up on your iPhone with the Add Account - Yahoo Mail wizard.
There is NO estimation for a fix time, but support advised you to access your email via the safari browser (if you are mobile) and web access during this down time. Just go to http://new.m.yahoo.com
    I hope this helps

  • How to block an email adress

How can i block a spam mail?

It isn't possible to block an email address with the iPhone's Mail client, and the iPhone's Mail client does not include a junk mail filter.
If the email account is an IMAP account that is also accessed with an email client on your computer that includes a junk mail filter and/or the ability to block an email address, block the email address with the email client on your computer or mark the received messages as junk so future messages sent by the email address will be blocked or marked as junk by the email client used on your computer for accessing the account. Leave the email client used on your computer for accessing the account launched an running actively checking the account for new messages. All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account. Anything done in this regard with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account will be reflected automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone's Mail client.

  • How do I restrict multiple device email access in exchange online ?

    Hi ,
I have configured exchange online but i want that the users  should uses the email on the particular devices assigned by the organization or Admin, be it a laptop desktop or any particular mobile devices. I don't want that the users should configure
their email on their personal devices. Do we have any option to white listed IPs or Macs addresses?

The steps are pretty much the same as those in the article, just minor differences due to the new UI. You should decide where you want to set the default policy on Allow/block/quarantine and whether you will have a policy for allowing specific device
models. The relevant options are under EAC -> Mobile -> Mobile device access. The global settings are configured by pressing the Edit button on top, and Device access rules are on the bottom.
Note that all this applies to mobile devices only. If you aim to block PC/laptop access outside of the corporate env, you have to look at solutions such as AD FS/MFA.

My Mac is blocking me from accessing a well  known shopping website (no problem at their end with my account).  I can access it from my iphone, so why not my Mac?

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security

If the Develop menu is showing and Disable JavaScript is checked, uncheck it.

  • Blocking certain emails

I get junk mail all the time and i was wondering if i could block specific email addresses (mac os 10.4.3)

Since spammers don't provide a valid sending or return email address and are constantly changing the bogus email address used (much of the same junk that appears to be sent by a different email address are being sent by the same person and computer), this is waste of time and can't be done with any email client anyway.
This can only be done at the incoming mail server level by your ISP or email account provider.
Do you automatically render all HTML received and/or do you provide this email address when making online purchases, for any website access if required or for any other "public" purpose?
Regarding automatically rendering all HTML received, your email address can be logged as a "known good" address by a spammer if the spammer includes any embedded images or objects with HTML that must be rendered from a remote server. If the Mail.app junk filter automatically marks a message as junk, any embedded images or objects will not be rendered when the message is opened but if a junk message is not automatically marked as junk and contains embedded images or objects and it is opened, you can be revealing that your email address is valid to the spammer causing you to receive even more spam. Spammers also sell/trade their lists of "known good" email addresses so it becomes an endless cycle.
Does your ISP or email account provider include a method to forward any spam received to them with long headers shown for the received message? If so, your ISP or email account provider can then determine the computer IP address where the messages originated and block that IP address from being able to send messages to any email address in your ISP's or email account provider's domain.
If you are providing this email address for any online purchases, website access or for any other public purpose where this email address can be harvested by spammers, you need to have a private and public email address. Use the private email address to exchange email with family and friends ONLY. Get a free Hotmail or Yahoo account/address with webmail access only to be used for public purposes.
Once the cat is out of the bag, it is too late so this may require cancelling this email address and getting a new "private" address along with not automatically rendering all HTML received.

  • Blocking Spam Email

Greetings! Can anyone share how to block spam email on the iPhone? I have the spam email blocked on my pop email account but it is not blocking it once delivered to my iphone.

You should ask your email account provider why they don't have an adequate junk mail filter available at the incoming mail server.
The iPhone's mail client does not include a junk mail filter and even if it did, it wouldn't match the junk mail learned settings with the junk mail filter used with the email client on your computer.
With an IMAP account, you can store the account's junk mailbox on the server, which will be available and kept synchronized with the server automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone's mail client. Keep the email client on your computer launched and running actively checking the account for new messages - checking for new messages every 5 minutes. Any message that is marked as junk with the junk mail filter used with the email client on your computer and moved to the account's junk mailbox stored on the server will be reflected automatically when checking the account with the iPhone's mail client - all server stored mailboxes with an IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account.
So in effect, you have a junk mail filter available with the iPhone's mail client that is being handled with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account.
This is not possible with a POP account, which is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.

You can't. You can see if your email service provider offers such a feature.

  • Can I block an email address from sending me iMessages?

I am receiving harassing iMessages from an unknown person. I can turn off iMessage, but then I can't use it with my family. Is there a way to block specific email addresses?

No, there is no such way.  Sorry.  One thing you might consider doing is changing Settings > Messages > Send & Receive to eliminate the specific address receiving the bad messages.  For example, if you're getting them at your phone number, change to only have your Apple ID there.

  • How do i change the my sender name that is appearing in my email that's incoming? its correct on my iPhone email and my internet carriers email access site.

How do i change my sender name that is appearing in my email that's incoming? it's correct on my iPhone email and my internet carriers email access site, but not on my imac email. for instance, when someone else gets my email...it says its from "mike Hoak".  I need it to be me (Karen), not one of my random contacts.  not sure how it even happened.

    Hi karen elizabeth I,
I understand that you want to change the full name associated with your email account in Mail on OS X. Here is an article that will help you find this setting and adjust it:
Mail settings you might need from your email provider - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-is/HT1277
This setting can be found by going to your Mail Preferences, then the Accounts tab, then selecting your account. Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!
