Safari Bookmark non-Sync Fixed with 10.9.2?

I have multiple iOS devices, and three desktop OS computers.  About 6 months ago bookmark syncing between all of the devices became non-functional. Tried all the fixes suggested in the forum to no avail.  Finally gave up on it and over time each device had their own unique set of bookmarks.  Safari iCloud sync remained enabled on all the devices, but it appeared the changes were just ignored.
I incorportated 10.9.2 along with the companion iOS change a couple of days ago, and to my surprise Safari bookmark sync with iCloud was working again immediately.  The resultant merged bookmark was initially pretty messy, but at least it was identical on all the devices now.  I subsequently corrected one set of the bookmarks, and these changes were properly imported into the remaining set of devices.
Keeping my fingers crossed this was a real fix, and not a fluke.

  • Safari bookmarks not syncing in iOS 8.0.2

Safari bookmarks stopped syncing at least since 8.0.2 (not sure if it already broke in 8.0.1).
    I have this configuration
    iPhone4,1 (4S)
    iOS 8.0.2
    OS X 10.9.5
    iTunes 11.4 (18)
I read that to sync bookmarks you need 10.8 or earlier, but that doesn’t make any sense to me, I won’t use iCloud for that.

I restored my iPhone to no avail. Any ideas?

I recently upgraded Mountain Lion to Mavericks. Until now it's been disappointing. I read about these so-called syncing features too late.
See How to locally sync an iPhone with OS X Mavericks? iCloud is NOT an option.

  • Safari bookmarks and syncing

Hi, I've just been through all my Safari bookmarks and had a massive clear out, then I synced my iPhone and all my bookmarks are back in Safari (how annoying)!! How do I prevent this from happening again now that I have to go through all my Safari bookmarks again?
    Cheers

Go to the Apple menu >> system preferences >> icloud.  Make sure you're logged in with the same apple ID as you are on the other two devices.  If you're already signed in, you can click on Account details to verify that.
Then, make sure you have safari checked off in the icloud preferences.  If you already do, uncheck them for a minute or so.  Then recheck them.
    See if that helps.

  • Getting iCloud Safari Bookmarks to sync successfully and consistently across all Windows OS on Parallels ?

    Hi there....
Does anyone know how to successfully sync your Safari Bookmarks for Mac on iCloud across all browsers and operating systems setup in Parallels software.
Currently when I open any of the Windows OS on Parallels they mess up my Mac bookmarks with duplicates and extra bookmarks and I have to go through the whole Timemachine restore bookmarks process to get them working again as I had them.
It would be great of anyone out there just had a fail safe step by step guide to getting my bookmarks to sync consistently across all devices, browsers and operating systems from OSX Mavericks to Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
I have asked an Apple Expert previously about this but he couldn't figure out how to get this to work either.
Any comments or suggestions most welcome.

    Anthoy

  • Safari bookmarks not syncing to Mac via iCloud - Syncing works between iPhone and iPad.

My iPhone and iPad both have the Safari iCloud option set to 'ON' in my devices settings. My bookmarks sync between my iPad and iPhone correctly but bookmarks do not synce between my Mac and my two devices.
In iTunes, when I have either my iPad or iPhone connected it says: 'Your bookmarks are being synced over the air from iCloud.'
What setting am I missing to get my bookmarks to sync properly from and too my Mac?

  • ICloud, Safari bookmarks not syncing with iphone

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around my iPhone has stopped syncing the bookmarks with my Mac. Hugely annoying..
Anybody know how to fix this?
    Thanks

I've got an iPhone 4, MacBook running Snow Leopard, previously had MobileMe, ever since iCloud has come around
You must upgrade Lion v10.7.2 in order to enable iCloud so that's not the issue with the bookmarks since you are running Snow Leopard.
Open System Preferences > MobileMe then select the Sync tab and make sure Bookmarks is selected.
Now select the Advanced tab then click Reset Sync Data.

  • Why can't I sync my safari bookmarks to my iPad with the new iTunes?

I downloaded the new iTunes 12 on my iMac. The problem is I want my bookmarks to appear on my iPad. Is this not possible anymore?!? Please help!

Syncing photos from the computer to your phone is done via iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
Syncing photos from your phone to your computer can be done as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 and you don't need iTunes to do so.
In case you can't sync to your phone, try to delete the photo cache folder, explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • Manually sync Notes and Safari bookmarks via USB cable for iOS device and an iMac with MacOS 10.7 Lion and iTunes 11

"I'm aware that with MacOS 10.8 Mountain Lion there is no support for USB cable sync of iOS devices." Notes and Safari Bookmarks cannot longer be sync via USB cable with iTunes. For owners of iPhone 3G that cannot upgraded the device to a version higher than iOS 4.2, syncing Notes and Safari Bookmarks via usb cable with iTunes is the only option we have. There is no iCloud integration for Notes and Safari Bookmarks under iOS 4.2. I'm not updating to MacOS 10.8, because there is no way to sync Notes and Safari Bookmarks via cable. So I won't be able to sync those anymore unless I upgrade to a newer model of iPhone. I'm not into a new hardware investment, at least not for now. I just want to know if iTunes 11 running in MacOS 10.7 Lion still have the functionality of sync Notes and Safari Bookmarks via USB cable.

Mac OS 10.7.5 and iTunes 11.0.4.
    jlbr wrote:
I want to confirm if "other" still appears with iTunes 11 and MacOS 10.7 for sync Notes and Safari Bookmarks:
    Yes.
If you are sincing Notes via iCloud, iTunes will tell you so.
If you change the iDevice - Settings> iCloud > Notes - Off, they sync (or not sync) thru iTunes (either wifi or cable).
So my question now would be:
Is "Notes" manual sync checkbox option provided under "Others" in iTunes 11.0.1 with MacOS 10.7 Lion?
If you change the iDevice - Settings> iCloud > Notes - Off, then yes.

  • IPhone has Duplicate bookmarks in Safari after initial sync.

I think that this is a .Mac problem, but I thought that I would ask here as well since it has been 24 hrs since I sent .Mac a query.
After I activated the iPhone, it synced and my Safari bookmarks were synced as well. As it did earlier last week, the sync process put two of every bookmark folder on my iPhone. That is the reason I think it is a .Mac problem, not an iPhone problem.
Has anyone else ran into this or know how to fix it? I have nearly 5000 bookmarks and now show 9800 plus bookmarks.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lewis

I have a workaround to this issue...I created folders for my bookmarks and then saved my key bookmarks in those folders.
No more strange "My Account" bookmark

  • Sync Safari Bookmarks

I own an iPhone 3G with OS 3.1.3. Today after a sync with iTunes 9.1 (79) on my MBP with MacOS X 10.6.3 I noted that the Safari bookmarks on my iPhone were not in sync with my laptop.
After a first look, as I understand, now I need to sync the bookmarks through the mobile me cloud.
Is it so? If yes, I don't want to send my personal data (email, calendar, contacts) over a cloud. I don't trust a cloud. So, please, is a way to sync these data as I was used to do with the previous versions, that is directly without passing through a cloud? Thanks

With a MobileMe account, you are not required to sync contacts, calendar events, or Safari bookmarks over the air with your iPhone or with your Mac, but not doing so defeats a purpose or benefit with a MobileMe account.
Even when syncing Safari bookmarks over the air with a MobileMe account on an iPhone, you can also sync bookmarks direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process, but doing so may duplicate the bookmarks on your iPhone. You can do one or the other, or both at the same time.
If Safari bookmarks are not syncing properly when synced direct via the iTunes sync process, try resetting the sync history on your Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application in your Applications folder.
Are you syncing Address Book contacts and iCal calendar events with your Mobile online contacts and calendar with your Mac? If so, this is being done over the air.

  • Safari fixed with iTunes update?

Anybody notice the Safari problems improved or fixed with the recent iTunes 5.1 update? I have been surfing for an hour to sites that would cause a system freeze/crash. Since the iTunes update, Safari has not caused a freeze. Safari seems to load faster as well.

My point, JPolk, was that one should not assume anything when doing problem definition. The
    similar issue
observation presumes that one is seeing the universe of Apple users on these forums - a fatally flawed conclusion. To extrapolate from posts here is roughly akin to going to a hospital and assuming everyone is sick in the world.
When and wherever a problem manifests itself is not an absolute pointer to a problem. It is most easy to 'blame' someone or something else, rather than tracking down what
    b MAY
    be a localized problem.

  • TS4001 I have two mac mini, my safari bookmarks aren't syncing

Both my OSX  are update. I signed in preference on both machines. I dont know why it isn't working.
It is for my wife account, i'm trying to help her

Well, I went through all the various online suggestions to get my Safari Bookmarks to sync up between my 3 computers but it's a FAIL. Period. I'm running latest software: Lion 10.7.2 and Safari 5.1.2. I decided to sign up for Xmarks and that works perfectly. Apple could learn something from these guys. So, don't torture yourself trying to de-bug iCLoud Bookmarks syncing... it simply doesn't work reliably for most users. Google Xmarks and give it a try. Xmarks will NOT sync your mobile Safari's bookmarks, though. But, Xmarks is free, so no complaints!

  • Syncing iCal, Address Book and Safari Bookmarks via AirPort Extreme?

Does anyone know of a way to keep iCal, Address Book and Safari Bookmarks in sync across three Macs that are connected via AirPort Extreme? I don't want to use MobilMe at this time.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
    Frank

    Hey, Lehmann:
You need a server to process the information being sent out by your Macs. The server is what will determine which machines need what information, and will initiate the transfer. The Airport Extreme can't be this server as it only contains the functionality of a router. Most developers opt to develop WAN-based syncing (ie, MobileMe, Exchange, etc.) because LAN would be covered under that umbrella, so it's two for the price of one (I also think syncing over WAN is more convenient and more often the desired solution).
I don't know of any LAN-based syncing solutions (ie, one that would turn one of your computers into the server to process the data and manage the syncing), but I can at least give you some of the tech language to help define what you're looking for and help your search.
Can I ask why you want to keep the syncing server local? Is it a security concern? I love MobileMe and would highly recommend it unless there is a need for military-level security.
    Michael
